The female singer is credited as Mrs Loud. That's what everybody called her when this came out. This was before everyone could look everything up on a computer. So give the respect and call her Mrs Loud.

As already mentioned the female voice is Lorraine Crosby a little known singer from my home town of Newcastle upon Tyne. Lorraine received no royalities or recognition for her incredible role/vocals in this epic song. Lorraine continues to sing/tour locally around the UK and on cruise ships.
Steinman's lyrics and Meatloaf's voice and delivery - unbeatable.
His songs, videos and live performances were like Broadway shows only better! His stage presents and voice were just incredible. May he rest in peace. Also, I love your reactions to all the older videos from back when I was younger. 60's 70's and 80's. We had some unbelievable bands back then.

For crying out loud.....the only song he murdered when singing live.....but his best song of all time. :)
Okay, a few things: first, that's Lorraine Crosby on the female voice. Great singer. Second, this and a LOT of the best songs Meat Loaf did were written by the late great Jim Steinman. He wrote Two Out of Three Ain't Bad, the great Bonny Tyler hit Total Eclipse of the Heart, and my favorite song to pick me up "Rock and Roll Dreams Come True (which, if you watch the video, the runaway girl is a very young Angelina Jolie.) Steinman also wrote Making Love Out of Nothing At All that was the big Air Supply hit (and was my sign-off song when I was doing radio DJ at a little station in Amarillo in the late 1980s). I would turn that thing up LOUD and sing my heart out.

Since you liked the lady's voice I would recommend Bonnie Tyler whose voice is similar and does several songs by Jim Stienman who also wrote most of Meatloaf's best music. I would try "Holding on for a Hero" and then "Total Eclipse of the Heart"

This is such a great song and video. The woman in the video isn’t the one that’s really singing. Lorraine Crosby is the one that’s actually singing the words and Dana Patrick is the one in the video lip syncing the song. Michael Bay directed the video.
