      If it is a used/refurbished TIPM, there could be something wrong with the way it's set up

    Does replacing TIPM require reprogramming??

    • @KBrosAuto
      @KBrosAuto  7 місяців тому

      It should not, sometimes a used or refurbished TIPM will need to be looked at but the car itself will be ready to go after the replacement

    I need some help and advice. I have a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee it has 2 batteries one large battery and one small battery. With this small battery I accidentally touched the negative and positive cables and then it sparked. I tighten
    the bolts down and then I started in my car and my windshield wipers my Uconnect system my battery light indicator is going crazy. And my engine is very weak and shaking. Also my windows don't roll up. it ended up dying like the battery is going dead. Did I shorting something accidentally touching the 2 cables on the smaller battery? Can this be my TPIM? Thank you

      I would think that either the small battery needs to be replaced or the TPIM, its not a bad idea to check your fuses or the voltage on the car battery with a multimeter.

      @@KBrosAuto Thanks I stayed up all night researching this issue. And it ended up being my fuse block for my fuse block - mopar (68089468aa. I removed the fuse block and there the circuit had blown. However I need to go to the dealership and get another one but let's just hope that this is the case 👍

    So ive bought a used TIPMS for my 2015 JGC and now rather than loosing a few fuctions ive lost everything and everthing is coming up on the dash as requiring a service. Service FWD, service transmission, service air suspension, service everything and the engine sounds rough too. Could my original issue actually be my ECU and not the TIPM? My original issue was air bag light staying on, uconnect not working at and my alarm going off randomly. Though it all started with my sat nav saying I was in Moscow! I live in England. Then things like the powerfold mirrows and windows only worked with the engine switched off, then couldn't oped my drivers door without locking it and unlocking it. Gradually new faults came up almost daily. Any help really appreciated

      I guess it could be the ECU or TIPM or both. I would still suspect something is wrong with the used TIPM.

      @KBrosAuto thank you for the reply. I contacted the company that supplied the used TIPM, they are sending me another, but I have little confidence that it will make a difference. Assuming it doesn't then it will be a costly trip to Jeep. Again thank you for the response

      So the replacement TIPM arrived. I fitted it. Same faults as my original TIPM. Had the battery tested again, nothing wrong with it. What are the chances all 3 TIPMS are faulty with the same faults? Highly unlikely, right? So lets say TIPM and battery are fine, does that just leave the ECU?

      I guess so, hopefully it's not crazy expensive

      @@KBrosAuto Pleased to report, a loose cable conector under the pasanger seat, was the issue. I've hours under the hood and under the car. Couldn't find anything out of place. Then I started looking in the car. Unbelievable. Just like the TIPMS, two great big cable conbectors with the big clamps, locked it back in place. And wow everything works. Sat nav still says I'm in Moscow, but from where i have been for the last two weeks, I can live with that! The car is going to jeep in the next 10 days for a software update. I thought I would share this in case it helps any of your other viewers! Best wishes,
      Mike
