This is the exact leak problem I'm having with my 2012 Laredo. I am amazed at how smoothly you did the job with such a precise artful method. I'm not a mechanic but you made it look as if I can do it too.
I think i like your way it's easier to take the bumper off . I've got a new transmission cooler ac condenser, and I've also got a universal transmission cooler. i just don't want to have to regas the AC. You're a very excellent instructor teacher
Fantastic video and explanation! Thank you. Somehow there is a hole somewhere in the condenser and I'm losing transmission fluid. The condenser fins are full of fluid and grime.
Hey thank you for this video you save me $1600 on at The dealer appreciate it I was looking for a video like this that’s how much the dealer will charge me to do the job Maybe I should take you and your family to eat lol
This is an awesome and most thorough video I’ve seen regarding the condenser swap but I do have one question though. What is the box in front of the condenser? Somehow mines broke off and went back into in my condenser putting a hole in it now.
Man!!!!!! Thank you so much; you just saved me a lot of money! It went better than i thought. What i thought was going to be a pain was taking the bumper on and off, but, it wasnt. For me the hard part was pushing those transmission lines in place; had to ball up a rag so i could get a grip on the line. And Your right about making sure they're in; it felt like they were in but whem i pulled really hard, they came out. You made it look easy......must have one heck of a grip! Once again, Thank you!
Great explanation! Thank you for taking the time to post this. I am tackling this job tomorrow on my 2014 Grand Cherokee. At the 8:00 minute mark you mention that you can drain the oil out of the A/C side just like you did the transmission side. What type of oil would you put in the A/C side? Thank you!
@@MikeHowy2111 The question was what oil goes in the A/C side.. not the transmission cooler side. Putting ATF in your A/C is a disaster. The correct oil is called PAG oil. All PAG oils are the same just different viscosity. At most I wouldn't put more than 2 ounces in while doing this replacement. You typically don't find any sitting in the cooler.
The 2 ac lines going into the condenser on my jeep are leaking freeon, really don’t want to do all this to fix it lol really don’t see a point right now since the service 4wd light is on after having a new module and t-case put in last year, over $2k in parts along with a new oil cooler last month, tally that up to $3k in it, probably going to just trade it off at this point
You can but this looks a better way i think all depends on the person and you can clean the oil leaks up easily this way. 🤔 just about to do mine flipping a 🪙
I realized the leak was coming from the a condesnor, after I had it completely ripped apart. Is it absolutely necessary to have the ac drained 1st? It would be difficult to put it all back together just to have the freon drained. Any advice would be appreciated
If it's leaking, it will come out on its own which I believe is the reason for replacement. I found a leak in one today using dye and will be replacing it in a few days. The refrigerant usually leaks out in a day.
Good video brother. Do you have any tips because I’m in the process of replacing the AC condenser and the radiator , Do you have any recommendations as fluid wise , do I add new fluids since the radiator and the Ac condenser is new and also there is no Freon in the vehicle so I will have too add the Freon please contact/ reply ASAP because I’m doing this fix next weekend
2 chsrges of refrigerant in 2 weeks and still cant find the leak. Used dye the 2nd charge snd cant find it but can smell refrigerant if Im standing in front of the hood pretty good. Leaning towards checking the condenser soon.
It’s amazing how shitty these things are constructed, every connector and mounting screw seems disposable. Seems like a very easy job, can you just add the ATF to the trans pan ?
@@brannangraycarvallo298 5quarts they say you have to use special tool and temperature gage but if you put in 4 quarts warm it up and go to menu it tells trans temp when you put it in gear so I got it to 170 recommended 165-170 and stopped at 5 quarts
Got a quote to get mine replaced, thought I'd check out how much of a job it is before committing the quoted expense. Strewth...he can have every cent of the quoted price 🤨
Absolutely fantastic video! $1,400 is what this job would’ve cost me at the stealership.

No need to drill it. Just punch the center in and it will actually pop out

Very helpful guide. Was able to get it done in the same day.

Did you figure this out ? I am having the same issue and I am completely clueless :(
@@glider726 are you meaning the oil cooler? It’s clipped on the front of the condenser with 2 plastic clips
@@Sammy-ju7cvIt's the power steering cooler for anyone else that may see this and be wondering.
a lot easier and quicker to just pull the core support. the condenser comes right out the top without too much hassle.

Sounds like you went throw all the weak points, im sure there will be no more issues after that!
Don't have to remove front bumper or grill. Just take the brace cover off the top and you can get to condenser to remove.

Yes as it poisonous

I appreciate the feedback
What was the time to remove and install before adding freon and fluids
Great video! Mine just failed, transmission fluid leaking. Had to have a local fix it.
Where did you get the clips go put back on on the sides?
This was a very good how to. Thank you very much.

What about the refrigerant in the ac lines, how do you get that out before removing the condenser
If it's leaking, it will come out on its own which I believe is the reason for replacement. I found a leak in one today using dye and will be replacing it in a few days. The refrigerant usually leaks out in a day.
This can be done so much easier, just remove the top rail with hood latch 4 bolts each side and two brace bolts from top rail unplug horns

Thank you Sir …Great Job with Instructions … Thank you 🍺
Show how you topped off transmission fluid. Please...
Im guessing there wouldnt be to much difference to the 2013 SRT8 ?
Nie trzeba zdejmować zderzaka da się wymienić chłodnice klimatyzacji od góry!
I'm doing a 2010 liberty & the ac lines are separate. One is bolted on like in your video & the other is crimped or something.
My mechanic told me something from my power steering rubbed a hole in the condenser. Is this even possible?
Excellent video! Thank you very much, great job! 👍👍👍
My 12 Durango, is doing the same thing. How much does this job cost?
1400.00
Awesome video great job
Great job very detailed
How can you tell if it’s the condenser
Thank you Sir

Hey bro if my ac blows cold air and I hear the clutch go on but then starts blowing air is that the compressor or what could it be i charge the freon
I’m trying to understand your question. You’re saying that it starts out OK and then stops working?
No when I turn the car on and then turn the Ac on it blows a little bit of cold air and then it doesn’t blow anymore Cold air
@@edwinmejia3199 Sounds like you’re describing a blower motor issue. Either the resistor or the motor itself.

When I did mine I added trans fluid after all was installed just used pliers on trans tube seal cap was a lot easier to fill no mess
