I had my Jeep in the shop for about 2 weeks because someone ran into me. Now all of a sudden my suspension system isn't working. My Jeep is so low to the ground that it's scraping everything and bouncing around like crazy. Progressive won't even fix the issue reverb right the original accident wasn't my fault and I never had this issue before taking it in for a fender bender... I'm soooooooooo angry I have no idea what to do other than her a lawyer
I have a 2011 3.6 lerado. When I go 60mph, It make this grinding whistling sound like air leaking from under the hood. Is there an evap line under there that needs checking?
I have the same...2019 Jeep GC Trailhawk, V8, with tow package. I have the air suspension system, and a couple of years ago, I got that warning message a couple of times, and it stopped working once, but I never had a single issue last winter, and it gets down to -45 C where I live. Got lucky I guess. Going into winter again now....big snow storm as I speak. Hope I have no issues with the air suspension.
@jackieu8209 If your air suspension has issues in freezing temperatures, it's almost always because there's moisture in the system. The moisture in the system can freeze and cause problems, but everything will work fine again once the temperature goes up above freezing again. The fix for this is to refill the air suspension with nitrogen and since nitrogen doesn't have any moisture in it, no more issues in freezing temperatures.
my wife has a 2015 JGC Limited 3.6 with 110K miles, we bought it brand new. We have had some issues but nothing worth mentioning. Based on mileage and dealer's recommendation, I've been doing some preventive maintenance; idler pulley, tensioner pulley, harmonic balancer, belt, thermostat, water pump, starter, motor mounts. Soon I will be doing the rocker arms. All in all its a great SUV, the engine still running very strong without showing any signs of slowing down. I'm hoping to keep it for another 10yrs.
We have 2012 V6 3.6L with 72K miles on it. The only thing that went bad was the thermostat. It is GREAT VEHICLE! No other problems. The best 4x4 SUV you can buy. Made in USA!
I bought a 12' Laredo new. Still have it, 140,000 miles. The thermostat got me as well as the air switch you spoke of. That one was $900. My starter recently went, another $900. Otherwise in 10 years it's been great. Drives like new, I've done tires a few times, got rear brakes. I plan to drive it another 100k. It's quiet and smooth, and it can handle 20 inches of snow even though it's got the base 4wd system. Best vehicle I've owned.
@@jonthompson8807 ha good question. Lived in in Illinois and did for 8.5 years. The past 1.5 I've lived in a townhome near the beach in FL with no garage so it will be interesting to see how it does. I wax it 2 times a year and no more show so that's good, but the ocean and heat will be a test. Looks good still
Yup, 2014 Limited with 60K miles. Replaced the thermostat and both motor mounts leaked out long ago. Doesn't seem too matter, however. I needed to replace the battery today after 10 years. Under the seat is a stupid place for a battery, but I had no trouble, thanks to good UA-cam videos. Thanks.
2011 - 208K miles....waterpump was replaced at 150k. I replaced the broken accuators (both) ~185K. youtube can help you with any fix needed. Still runs great!
Really? I’ve got an opportunity to buy a 2011 Grand Cherokee from this old lady. Only drove it 32k miles.. Skeptical from what I’ve heard for the 2011 model year. Have you owned yours since new?
You literally made my day! I have been struggling with that exact same oil leak for like 6 months now and could not track it down. Never thought to check to oil filter interface and that was exactly it! Thank you! I'm on my 3rd thermostat lol.. But easy and cheap fortunately.
I swapped my air ride on my 2011 Overland for strut and shocks. Between compressor and air bags I was looking at almost 10K. I put in an after market system from Strutmasters for right at 1k. It does ride stiffer but it's an excellent suspension system. 3:46
I’ve had my 2015 GC Lerado Blackhawk for 3 years now. It has 190,000 Kms on it. I’ve changed the oil filter housing (did it myself), changed the thermostat (myself), I think #4 coil and just recently changed all 24 rockers. Even with all that, I love this SUV it’s such a nice looking SUV, especially, black on black 😊
Wow, thank you! Great video! I have a 2012 overland. I’ve had ( or still have) most of the issues you mention! The rough morning shift is one that I’ve been concerned about… but no longer concerned! Thank you!
Have a grand Cherokee with the hemi- kept getting service 4wd system and was told it was very common that likely it needed a new transfer case. Was quoted 4grand for a used one and no guarantee that it wouldn’t have same issue. I took it to a transmission specialist who determined all that was needed was a transmission computer re-program. $1000 and zero issues since.
I have the transmission shift issue from 1 to 2. It’s been happening so that’s how I ended up watching your video. My Jeep Grand Cherokee is a 2014 w/169k miles so she’s had her run. Great vehicle like you mention, other issues were the air not circulating but that was fixed a while back. Key fob battery as well. Thanks for sharing!
2012 GC OL. I had pretty much all the problem you discussed. I am not a handy man however I fixed both blenddoor actuators. Driver side was little difficult. Cost me under 100 dollar to fix. Dealer asked me 1800 dollar to fix. Lol. UA-cam has step by step instruction. Thanks for sharing. Love the comfort. I find this Jeep way more fun drive then my 2018 4Runner. I said comfort not reliability. Lol
if you remember which video that helped you replaced the driver blend door actuator.. i would LOVE the help! mine has been broken for like 2 years but i know how much the dealer wants to fix it and i cant pay that. thankfully i live in sunny cali and heat isnt a huge need in my part of the state
2016 Laredo E 4x2 purchased used in 2019 with 30k miles. 71k miles today 2/9/23 and other than synthetic oil changes every 8-10k miles (never even had to top off between changes) and engine/cabin filters, I haven't had to fix anything. I do need to change the key fob battery probably every 12-18 months and I also experience the rough 1-2 shift if I don't let it warm up and it's cold out. I've experienced this in other vehicles too so I'm not worried about that. Super reliable so far!
@@johndigenakis9725A sales gimmick would be to try to get you to come into the dealership every 5k miles for a $100 oil change. I check it every few thousand miles all the way close to 10k. The oil barely changes color and burns almost nothing. 87k miles today 7/4/24. The only thing I've had to do since my last post is new tires. To each their own.
About 88k miles today 7/17/24. No issues since my last comment on 2/9/23. I still go between 8-10k on synthetic oil changes. At that mileage interval, the oil still doesn't look all that dirty and is probably 85% full. The sales gimmick is changing your oil at its half life. The only way I can see needed more frequent oil changes is if you're always driving hard or if you basically drive it like a fleet vehicle, lots of stop and go.
The fuel pump relay was a recall. It is part of the tipm. The recall put in a relay external to the tipm. I had the replaced relay also quit. Only a $4 DIY fix though. I'm having a problem now where the engine will start and stall a few seconds later. You have to push the button to turn the ignition off to attempt a restart. If you just keep your foot on the brake and try to restart it the engine will crank but not start. I've been told the fix is to either remove the start button and use the key inside the fob or replace the ECM. Mine has been doing this occasionally for a few months but it always ends up starting and staying running. It happens hot or cold, in all kinds of weather. The security system that the fob connects to loses contact as it transitions from starting to staying running. I found holding the fob near the start button helps.
2011 5.7 hemi with 225k miles..... blend door problem is a real pain. Replaced water pump, brake diaphram, a head light and have that hood bubbled paint. Sometimes have to use the key fob in the dashboard to start the engine. It acts like an alarm issue or a fob battery is bad. The tranny gets over 200 deg. F when towing my boat over 100 miles. I'm afraid to trade it in for a newer one as it runs well.
2012 Hemi Overland w 122k- Air suspension line leak and then compressor failure, motor mounts, water pump, leaking steering rack, 2 broken exhaust manifold bolts, blend door motor failure
I'm on my second, really love to drive these Jeeps. My 2011 V6 Laredo other than factory recalls done, changed the blend door on passenger side, tight access but certainly easy. Although was experiencing a weird rear brake problem, on occasion the rear brake would grab and heat up. Was going to change the body to caliper hose, but traded in before. I found that if you change the oil filter (easiest of any car !) was to change the seal which usually comes with the filter to prevent leakage. My 2016 392 SRT has been good also, changed the water pump and themostat , had a shock go under warranty, but other wise has been pretty good. The Carbon fiber trim pieces typically start to warp, but I believe they have an extended warranty due to being a common problem. Otherwise I really enjoy driving these vehicles!!
2014 Laredo 4x4 with 94k miles. Replaced transmission under warranty after 60k miles. Recently had to replace starter and flywheel. Blend door issue, and about every 2 years the a/c fuse melts. But overall, has been an awesome vehicle and still runs smooth
I do a have a 2011 Grand Cherokee with the V6 and just shy of 210,000 miles. I did have to repair the air vent selector, big job and not cheap, but I have not experienced any of the other problems you mentioned except for the thermostat, twice. One issue that bothered me was the failure of the calipers, twice, and that happened suddenly on long trips, and I did not have a great time getting home. Overall, it's a great car, the interior and exterior are basically brand new, no rattles when driving and no issues with the hood. Very comfortable, fairly quiet and a great V6. I have the old 5 speed tranny, still working well, some "hiccups" when cold but no slipping and changing gears without problems. Will I get to 300,000? Time will tell!
I have a 2014 WK2 Overland V8, it has had a water pump go at 80,000kms and the fuel door release needed fixing. Other than that it has had no other issues and currently has 145,00kms.
That’s funny, my fuel door release has been not working for a few years. Cheap solution, I use a magnetic chip bag clip. I put the magnet on the fuel door and put the handle of the chip clip so it Closes on the flat of the gas cap. Works perfect 👍
I have a 2018 Grand Cherokee Limited 3.6L. I recently noticed a little rumble feel at idle (60,000 miles). I changed the spark plugs, cleaned the throttle body, new intake filter, checked all vacuum lines and replaced the vapor return solenoid. I didn't see any liquid coming from the motor mounts.
I just bought a 2021 Grand Cherokee Laredo with less than 20k on it. When I go on rough gravel roads you can hear f - r suspension clunking, yet when I put it on jacks I can't find anything loose.
I have a 2014 limited and the things I experienced before it reached 90k I had to replace, transfer case sensor, ABS sensor, valve cover gaskets, thermostat, radio replaced twice, transmission went out, radiator leaked because its made of plastic, I go thru brake pads and rotors every three years and I use ceramic pads. I have 95k on it and we replaced spark plugs and coil packs. Despite having these gremlins and wear and tear items, I'm still keeping it.
My first heated seated seats stopped working replaced the fuse still not working checked the connections as well. It's a 2014 jeep grand Cherokee limited
2014 Jeep GC V6 here, 90k miles. Problems so far: bad thermostat (stuck open), leaking radiator, leaking drivers side motor mount, bad rocker arm leading to damaged crankshaft (aka Pentastar tick), leaking oil cooler assembly, bad oil pressure sensor, clunking driver side door hinge and squeaking rear suspension when temp is below 32 deg. I fixed all these problems myself (except for the squeaking rear suspension which I haven't been able to diagnose yet). If I had to pay someone to fix all these problems, it probably would have cost $6k. Its a really nice vehicle but you better be a decent mechanic and have a spare vehicle around. Thankfully I am and I do.
I have a 2015 V6 now with 93,000 plus miles. Thermostat housing cracked which is common. A 28 dollar replacement and UA-cam helped me replace it and save a ton of money. ** Make sure you replace it with the updated part to avoid the same issue. It's visibly beefier at the 90 degree bend. Also common, and now covered are the active headrests breaking and deploying. Most are lucky and aren't driving when it happens, unlike me. Suddenly having your head hit from behind while driving will scare the crap out of you. Pentastar Plastic strikes again here. The plastic that holds the locking pin is thin (cheap and brittle). It will break and headrest will deploy, even though the locking pin is still in locked position. Still, those really aren't so bad overall and I still love my Jeep. Given the price of the new ones, I'm happy to keep mine which is paid off.
I have a 17 Limited with 89k miles and water pump has been replaced twice before replacing the engine mount at 80k miles and the radio volume knob pretty much melted/sticky. Other than those few issues I love my Jeep but will probably trade in closer to 100k....Great video!
Love the way these drive considering their capabilities. Glad these still have the tried and true V6 and 8 speed. This video is super helpful. Good to keep an eye on common issues. Only issue I had on my ‘19 so far is a failed/faulty fuel pump module that left me stranded on the freeway. Replaced under warranty at least.
my top 5 Issues I've had with my 2014 GC 1. Warn rocker arms, causing that ticking sound. 2. Thermostat 3. Driver Side Blend Door Actuator. 4. Transmission cooling lines broke off 5. Service shifter message.
2011 3.6 180k no problem ever.. except for the recalls that jeep took care of fuel pump relay brake booster all the recalls have been done and I’ve had absolutely no problems 180 thousand miles and I still get 22 mpg on 32 inch tires. Yes it is lifted 2 1/2 inches.
I’ve own a 12 grand Cherokee for about 8 years now. 195k on the dash, I’ve had the thermostat problem like you. A few others been the headlight and blinker plugs.
2014 grand Cherokee and my thermostat has recently been tripping check engine light and it eats coolant like it’s goin out of style can’t find any leaks anywhere. Just hit 90 thousand in it other wise been great vehicle no other issues. And as for key fob I have only had to replace mine twice in 4 yrs.
@Kurt of Trades thanks for response and yea im pretty sure that is what it is just dont feel comfortable messing with that thing like that. I can do a lot to my truck but it's a 2001 doesn't have all those electronics
I have went through the comments but didn’t see anything that was the issue I’m having. I have a 2019 limited grand Cherokee and I just replaced both batteries today after they went bad. I’ve been having the hatch open on its own which started a couple days before the batteries went bad. The hatch still is opening on its own and the dash is lighting up and lights on the heat shifter are staying on when the vehicle is locked and shut off and the key fob is nowhere near the vehicle. I’m not sure what the issue is I’ve Been trying to research and figure it out. If anyone has any idea please comment and let me know I’m puzzled and for sure don’t want to buy more batteries if these lights staying on keep draining the batteries
I have laredo 2015... transmission replaced at 220 KM, I'm experiencing the rough shifting from 1st to 2nd gear you mentioned even with the new transmission, its really annoying issue... other than that, the car is awesome. I love it.
I have a 2018 Grand Cherokee Laredo got it brand new in 2018 I have had it for five years I don’t drive it often it only has 25K miles on it but I have four recalls to take care of, the passenger door all of sudden started to yellow in the white paint, the AC is making a weird noise when it’s on, the window failed in the passenger, the tires don’t seem to handle any slight slippery moments it just seems like it can’t handle anything? I treat this car like gold too I’m surprised never had this many issues this early I live in a nice area don’t go many places so I’m surprised
2012 5.7 oil pan gasket leaks. Dealer says 1600 bucks to fix it, it’s a 4x4 and they gotta drop the front axle. Now my’04 WJ 4.7 needs a transmission too.
Excellent video and super accurate. I have a 2015 Grand Cherokee. 174k. I have experienced %90 of what you mentioned…..now off to check the engine mounts 😢
I have a 2012 grand Cherokee. Changed oil 12 times so far with no problem. Any time you are using a large wrench on plastic, tighten snug not tight. I bought my truck with 30,000. Now it has 96,000. So far only problem I have had was my Master Cylinder crapped out. (Wich I rare ) I have done brakes and rotors and changed the spark plugs at 75,000. So far all good.
14 Summit. 92,××× miles. I have 2 of the issues you mentioned. (Corrosion on edge of hood, pealing chrome on cup holders) but also had replace adio head unit. It was locking up for the first mile or 2 after start-up. Retaining tabs on front brake pads rusted off, causing rattle over bumps.
Wife's 2008 Grand Cherokee has 76,000 miles and has the same hood problem. Transfer box just replaced. Brake problems, CPU problem and leaking power steering pump and radiator. Blown cylinder head gasket. Starter replaced. Key fob problem which disabled the Jeep when you were out for the day. Looks like Jeep has never stopped with their problems. Extended warranty helps but not completely. The interior is all leather and very well done except the radio which has gone out twice.
I own a jeep 2021 Laredo, i parked in my house with foot brake on but forgot to put the gear selector to P, but left it unintentionally on N, and shut the car off. The next day I tried to start the car by first put the gear to P after I pressed the ignition and the gear went to P, but the car didn’t start rather started to act weird, lights start flashing etc. any experience with that. Thank you
You mentioned rough idle. Mine is starting to do that now. It is a 2017 and has about 63K miles. It also shakes pretty badly when I am stopped and barely take pressure off of the brake to creep forward. It isnt thowing any codes but seemed to start after I had a fuel injector issue and had them replaced. Any ideas what causes this or what I can do to fix it?
We are the lucky ones we just purchased a 2017 jeep grand Cherokee limited with the luxury 2 package used with 60,000 miles one week of driving it odometer flashes lights flicker and the passenger window rolls down on its own now it’s sitting at the dealership waiting for it to get fixed Merry freaking Christmas
@PaapiA update it was a loose ground under the battery and the batteries are under the passenger seat it took the dealership 3 weeks to figure it out but ever since it's been a wonderful vehicle and my wife loves it
I own a 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland. I would advised, Anyone thinking of buying one. Don't it's just not worth the hassle. I've gone threw 3 compressors 2 radiators hoses and pumps. An evaporator. which i did not repair. Air suspension leaks. So stay far away from any suv or vehical. That has air suspension on it.
I think maybe you just had some bad luck. I'm on my third Grand Cherokee with air suspension in a row and none ever had a single issue with the air suspension at all.
I have a 2016 GC Overland that we purchased new in July 2016. As of today 12 30 2022 almost 80K miles and not one of those problems you mentioned. A couple of the problems you mentioned were owner abuse, nothing mechanical. For example tightening the filter cap to tight and scratching the console. Still have the original batteries in the remotes.
I just purchased a 2019 Altitude. I was concerned about the transmission because of the occasional weird shifting between 1 and 2. It doesn't feel like it's F'd, but I didn't think it was normal. Now I know.
Most of these problems are ironed out by 16. One that wasn’t and I don’t think you mentioned is the Park Sense module. It’s a well known fault and can cause the 16 onwards to slam the brakes when in reverse and you can’t de-activate it, it just reactivates itself. Mine went and was replaced under warranty with a new one with an updated module. 40k miles 3l eco diesel it’s not missed a beat. Second summit absolutely bullet proof
2013 jeep cherokee laredo 3.6L 2wd. Replaced oil filter cap, rack and pinion, alternator, coolant temp sensor, oil cooler gasket. Still have to do starter since its going out slowly, and also wheel bearings.
We have a 2016 75th anniversary that we bought new. It still only has 32k on it. The evap core needed to be replaced. They wanted $3000 to replace. I was like WTF!!! Lucky for us the dealer we bought it from has a lifetime warranty. Hundred bucks for the deductible. Dodged a bullet on that one. Ours also still has the original battery in it. I just found out that the battery is underneath the passenger front seat. Thats a new one, seems like an odd place to put it. Especially given that we have the v6 model so theres plenty of room under the hood for it. Ill have to replace the battery before winter I'm sure, doesn't look too complicated, just an odd choice to put it there if you ask me?
The oil cooler fails by itself. It is not necessary to over torque the filter. Mine failed where the inner passages collapsed and mixed oil with coolant. They fail on the mating surface between the cooler housing and the engine. Mine was leaking and had no cracks near the filter area. I got lucky and caught in time. Changing it is not a big deal. Biggest change if finding an inch lb torque wrench at a store; just order one online.
@@KurtofTrades found a 2016 grand Cherokee v6 with white smoke coming out the exhaust only at start up but it goes away immediately. It doesn’t overheat
I've had a 2012 5.7 wk2 and currently have a 2019 5.7 wk2. Haven't had any of the items you brought up. Except on 2012 the steering rack was stating to leak/weep. I had that one for 8 years and no issues with quadralift leaking. Saying that they need to be replaced every couple years is bogus. I also had a problem with the auto door locks not functioning correctly on that one. On the 2019 the only problem so far is the uconnect freezing up and then rebooting sporadically.
I have the 2015 grand cherokee, 3.6 pentastar. Recently noticed fluid leak spot on driveway. Clear not pink or red so I assumed not transmission fluid but power steering fluid. Checked reservoir and it was almost empty. Topped it off. Crawled under car to try to locate leak. Bottom of transmission was very wet and had been dripping through lower chassis shield. Too congested to locate leak. Would it be safe to assume power steering fluid had been blown back while driving? Car runs and shifts fine with no noises. Looked at rack and pinion connections as well as pump. Can’t really see steering column shaft control valve assembly without getting the car on a lift. Is that a possibility? I don’t believe those hoses or lines go back to the transmission. Maybe spraying out of a loose or broken connection?
2011, thermostat code - replaced at 170,000. Motor mounts 65,000- replaced. Front drive CV boots ripped and both half shafts - 85,000 replaced. Right front brake locked up 90,000. Oil filter housing 120,000 -replaced. Driver side cams and both sides lifters, valve cover gaskets replaced - 180,000. Right rear caliper broken - replaced also. There are others I have forgotten, it gets routine service.
One thing i've noticed if the key fob battery is very low and I'm dropping one of my kids off so they open the door, the car thinks the key has left the car because i guess the battery is so low it can't detect it
Also listen for a ticking noise from the engine; that’s the lifters going bad. They fail at the bearings inside and just one going bad will scratch your camshaft. I had to replace two camshaft. By the way if you are doing this job, just go ahead and replace all lifters, oil cooler, hoses, sensors, spark plugs etc.
Does anybody experience their 2013 JGC shutting off periodically while stopped. Mine sometimes will shutoff randomly then once shifted into park it starts up after one or two cranks, but It never registers a check engine code, it's like it never happened and can go months with no issue until it happens again randomly. It happens in cold and warm weather
The Blend door actuator is a PAIN to get out! Specifically the passenger side one, I did it myself and that one screw on the back of the actuator, make sure you have that small socket wrench!!
2015 Grand Cherokee, Motor Mounts went out old rubber was cracking and started leaking grease/oil at 138,000 miles (8 years). Had massive Transmission issues at 4,000 miles and basically strong armed them to drop in a new transmission and visually watched. After that, its been normal wear and tear.
Only issue I'm having with my 15 gc limited 3.6L is the oil pressure jumps from 90s to 40s and back to 90s in a few seconds, and goes to normal pressure once at normal operation temperature.
my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee altitude has given me hell and the dealer knew they had a problem from their part and wouldn't fix it while jeep still under 100,000 waranty!

@@jonathancarrasco5445 Jeep said the transmission. But idk if it’s true. Sorry but I have a hard time trusting these guys. If I talked to the actual mechanic and was convinced then I’d trust it. Regardless we’re gonna run it until the inspection runs out. Have a light for something that’s fixed
Currently dealing with coolant leakage. Mechanic said there was a crack in the radiator. Replaced it. Two weeks later it started leaking coolant again. This time they said it was the water pump. They replaced it. Within days it was leaking again. Mechanic said it was the coolant reservoir leaking. They replaced it. One day later it was leaking again. Now they’re saying it could be a head gasket or cracked heads, or worst case scenario: cracked engine block. I’ve lived this as my daily driver and when off-reading and camping, but I will never by Jeep again.
I have a 2012 WK2 overland with the hemi i bought used, recently hit 100k. The water pump and both motor mounts have been replaced. There's a hard thump when going into park, aside from that she runs great. I added an external oil cooler as we tow our 5k+ travel trailer frequently into the high country and take her off roading often. With the air suspension and limited slip diff, I'm able to do some more of the difficult trails I used to do in my gladiator. Comfortable all around capable vehicle, happy with it so far. Great video.

Is it necessary to replace timing belt at some point ? Or it’s a chain ?
We have 2012 V6 3.6L with 72K miles on it. The only thing that went bad was the thermostat. It is GREAT VEHICLE! No other problems. The best 4x4 SUV you can buy. Made in USA!
hi, did your jeep mark past the middle mark on your temperature marker with the bad waterpump?
Hey how is your jeep doing?
I bought a 12' Laredo new. Still have it, 140,000 miles. The thermostat got me as well as the air switch you spoke of. That one was $900. My starter recently went, another $900. Otherwise in 10 years it's been great. Drives like new, I've done tires a few times, got rear brakes. I plan to drive it another 100k. It's quiet and smooth, and it can handle 20 inches of snow even though it's got the base 4wd system. Best vehicle I've owned.
They are pretty great vehicles
I just bought a 2012 with 130,000 miles. Look they look great.
You garage that bad boy?
@@jonthompson8807 ha good question. Lived in in Illinois and did for 8.5 years. The past 1.5 I've lived in a townhome near the beach in FL with no garage so it will be interesting to see how it does. I wax it 2 times a year and no more show so that's good, but the ocean and heat will be a test. Looks good still
Yup they are tanks in snow and mud
I have a 2017 and a 2020, both with the 3.6. So far no issues, we absolutely love these grands !
Thanks.
Don't forget about heater core failure that's pretty deadly the whole dash has to come out.... I'm from a Jeep dealership
Yup I had that happen to me
How much does it cost to change the heater core
2011 - 208K miles....waterpump was replaced at 150k. I replaced the broken accuators (both) ~185K. youtube can help you with any fix needed. Still runs great!
Your actuators got that far? Wow. Barely got to 100k. 25 cent piece of plastic!
I did the same thing
Even synthetic needs to be changed every 5000. Don’t do that 10k interval. Trust me. That’s a sales gimmick.
Having this promblem with the cranking now trying to figure out the issue with that but no check engine light to determine
5 out of 6 I mentioned in the video not too shabby!
Man I have a 2021 and have had my transmission replaced twice! I have only 27k miles on it
I do a have a 2011 Grand Cherokee with the V6 and just shy of 210,000 miles.
Ours has had 3 water pumps
@@steveking4203Maybe you’re using the wrong coolant
That’s funny, my fuel door release has been not working for a few years. Cheap solution, I use a magnetic chip bag clip. I put the magnet on the fuel door and put the handle of the chip clip so it
Closes on the flat of the gas cap.
Was that the fix?
I just bought a 2021 Grand Cherokee Laredo with less than 20k on it. When I go on rough gravel roads you can hear f - r suspension clunking, yet when I put it on jacks I can't find anything loose.
Probably a stabilizer/sway bar link
Upper control arm likely.
Is it necessary to replace timing belt at some point ? Or it’s a chain ?
Chain
I have a 2014 limited and the things I experienced before it reached 90k I had to replace, transfer case sensor, ABS sensor, valve cover gaskets, thermostat, radio replaced twice, transmission went out, radiator leaked because its made of plastic, I go thru brake pads and rotors every three years and I use ceramic pads. I have 95k on it and we replaced spark plugs and coil packs. Despite having these gremlins and wear and tear items, I'm still keeping it.
Platinum plugs don't need replacing for 100,000 miles. Used NGK recommended for the 5.7L engine.
Thanks!
Wow thanks! Very appreciative, glad I could help!
My first heated seated seats stopped working replaced the fuse still not working checked the connections as well. It's a 2014 jeep grand Cherokee limited
Same here 2014 driver seat not working
I had a 2015 GC Laredo that damn gas nozzle drove crazy. Not to mention, I had issues with the air conditioner blowing barely working.
I have had four Grand Cherokees since 2004, never had a problem with any of them.
I guess you have not had them over 100, 000kms !
My headrest deployed while I was just sitting in the car, not driving lol. Still was unpleasant
How do I replace humidity sensor in 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Error Code P1009?
I have a 17 Limited with 89k miles and water pump has been replaced twice before replacing the engine mount at 80k miles and the radio volume knob pretty much melted/sticky. Other than those few issues I love my Jeep but will probably trade in closer to 100k....Great video!
I have a 2016 GC and have the same issue with sticky, melted door knobs.
We're you able to find a decent replacement knob
Great video bud. Couple other common issues. Lifter bearings, door hinges and fuel pumps. I’ve had 2 2015’s that had all of these issues.
alot of the electrical issues related to these year dodges and Chryslers are related to the T.I.P.M. module thats attached to the fuse block
Love the way these drive considering their capabilities. Glad these still have the tried and true V6 and 8 speed. This video is super helpful. Good to keep an eye on common issues. Only issue I had on my ‘19 so far is a failed/faulty fuel pump module that left me stranded on the freeway. Replaced under warranty at least.
my top 5 Issues I've had with my 2014 GC
1. Warn rocker arms, causing that ticking sound.
2. Thermostat
3. Driver Side Blend Door Actuator.
4. Transmission cooling lines broke off
Probably just needs a new thermostat.

My 2013 has the corrosion on the hood I covered it with a bit flector but it over heated on the wife may be doing a engine swap unfortunately
What did you end up doing? Mine is idling.
2015 limited, stalls while driving randomly. Ended up being the lock up torque converter solenoid sticking and staying in overdrive stalling motor.
Im about to buy a 2017 one you don’t recommend me it ?
@PaapiA update it was a loose ground under the battery and the batteries are under the passenger seat it took the dealership 3 weeks to figure it out but ever since it's been a wonderful vehicle and my wife loves it
I own a 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland. I would advised, Anyone thinking of buying one. Don't it's just not worth the hassle. I've gone threw 3 compressors 2 radiators hoses and pumps.
2020 with 40k miles here - thermostat went at 40,800 miles. Temp gauge was fluctuating like crazy.
Awesome video bud. I have a 2015 Cherokee latitude. Jerks randomly while driving. What are your thoughts??
I’ve had this issue, I’ve noticed if I always have the break a little compressed when I’m reversing it won’t happen.
Are these known for head gasket issues? Looking particularly for a v6 model.
I don’t think so unless they overheat
There’s a recall for that.. check with your dealer had ours fixed and hasn’t don’t it since
I have the 2015 grand cherokee, 3.6 pentastar.
My friends ‘12 3.6 got replaced the left head and it’s still misfiring 2 4 and 6

Bought tje 2020 overland hemi . Headlights went out first week.1500$ at cdjr. Week later the AC went out . 5k for new compressor and condenser
I have a 2015 JGC. My headlight isn't working. I changed out the ballast and bulb, even checked the fuses. What else should I check?
I have a 2012 WK2 overland with the hemi i bought used, recently hit 100k. The water pump and both motor mounts have been replaced. There's a hard thump when going into park, aside from that she runs great.
I added an external oil cooler as we tow our 5k+ travel trailer frequently into the high country and take her off roading often. With the air suspension and limited slip diff, I'm able to do some more of the difficult trails I used to do in my gladiator. Comfortable all around capable vehicle, happy with it so far. Great video.
bought my 2011 grand Cherokee Laredo X 4 years ago with 114k v6 since then blend doors, water pump, just had rack replaced ($2300 ouch!) and it appears my transfer case is on its way out. always been a jeep guy, but this one has cost me dearly. $$
How about radio issues? This seems to be common as well.
Seems common on almost all these new cars with touchscreens unfortunately. Ours hasn’t had any issues though
There is a recall for the touchscreen radio/sat nav and they’ll replace it for free.
@@NanceDrew What recall? There is not recall on the UConnect 8.4 screen.
I don't have a touch screen, but my speakers are out 😭
Hi this video was really helpful. My problem is overheating and I have already changed my cylinder head. How do I find out what causes this problem. I live in west Africa, Sierra Leone
Mostly coolant thermostats, very simple to replace and $40 part.
Just wana mention something very small but using the right motor oul for tempratures can also help. Alot of people use wrong oil for your climate somethinng small but will increase your protection of parts in long run.
2018, 45k mi - Blown head gasket, dead starter, dead batteries, infinite vacuum line issues, cheap seat cushions, dead door lock motors, 8” LCD bubble, traction control service light and dealer can’t fix it, O2 sensors bad/replaced.
On my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V6, the back hatch window will no longer open. The hatch opens but not the window. Any suggestions on how to get it open or fix it? Thank you for any suggestions you may have.
I’ve got a 2011 grand Cherokee and it has been randomly starting on its own. Has anyone experienced this?
Possessed? haha strange
TRY REMOVING THE BATTERY FROM THE FOB TO SEE IF IT WILL STILL START ON ITS OWN.
You may have a bad key fob.
I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee with 136,000 miles on it, I have had none of these problems except the oil filler problem because a service guy over tightened it. Only brought it back to the dealer once to have a software update, the Jeep has been super reliable.
Did they make it right by over tightening?
I have a 2015 GC 140k miles and I really want to keep it for another 10 years but I don’t want to pay exorbitant prices to keep it running. It has some rumbling and shaking issues at the moment and it’s alarming me 😢 I would very much like to fix it
I have a 2013 Laredo and my dim headlights won’t work. I checked my bulbs and they are fine. I just need any advice about what it could be.
My son has one that occasionally locks up the brakes when backing up. It’s been taken in to the dealer who can’t find the problem.
