he was the best - always :-) watched him in a concert in California on New Years Eve, he had the house rockin and me too :-) a guard of his slipped me a note but I couldn't act up on it ... :-)
God how i would of killed to off seen Stevie live. there is no one in the uk that matched up to fieryness he had and yet he seemed like such a nice guy. very envious of every man/woman from america especially in texas because of him ! .
Saw him three times as a late teenager. Nothing compared to the very last time I saw him in Dallas at the State Fair coliseum in 1989 (forget the exact name of the building). Beck opened for him that night. Third Stone from the Sun was his last song before the encore. The feedback he achieved that night was incredibly loud and otherworldly, I swear at that time I thought the vibrations were going to shake the building to pieces, and I didn't care. Then Jeff Beck took to the stage alongside him and they closed with Goin' Down. I will never forget that show as long as I have memory.
