I love that. He would do it often on live performances but I swear that throughout the studio version of Texas flood, every once in a while when the guitar stops for like a second, I swear I can hear him in the distance going “ahhhhh” and that is just sooooo beautiful to me cause I could just picture him in the studio still feeling it in his soul
@@justindenson6842 also, on the capitol theater version of “ain’t gone n give up on love” there’s a part where he hits this lick in the opening solo, and as the camera is zooming into his guitar, you can see his mouth open, and you can barely hear him once again going “ahhhhh”
I do agree with you but He was pretty well know around Texas before he recorded Texas Flood especially in Austin. I’m willing to bet a lot of those people in the audience used to watch Stevie when he was playing small clubs around Austin.
I have been a live sound engineer for over 30 years. Seeing him live the first time in 83 is when I decided I wanted to be a live sound guy. I sat behind the sound booth and it was life changing.
Greatest guitarist ever, and fabulous blues singing voice. What I love about SRV songs is he sings very clearly. You can hear every word of the song. He does not mumble or swallow his words. He projects his voice and words of a song outwards. Terrible tragedy he died when he was at the top of his game musically and personally, clean from his addictions. He was always great, but became even better after rehab. If he had lived, I have no doubt he would have been a super star and been around, at the top fir a very long time until a ripe old age. Like Clapton. I liked Jimi Hendrix and Clapton both a lot, but SRV is for more electrifying when he sings and plays his guitar. He’s extremely powerful. It’s like he’s on fire. He’s a true legend.
I so agree with u such a shame so young but they are all of them have been to young but they r looking down on us I pray for that all of them miss them all
Hard to watch some time for me gods got us here for a reason let's face it or I will I was not miss perfect come on we r all in our 60 s so we know what time it is anyone who's my age a. Said didnt do dope at some point in life well u tell me but that was that time in life it is what it was love a. Miss the good old days people not same non caring god is right hes love
He cudv been another Elvis...strange comparison wen i say it but both humble, EXTREMELY versitile, unique style, crossed genres, loved by all who met them, always striving to improve and NEVER forgot where they come from....only difference...Stevie was killed way too early ❣🤘🏻🙏 SRV was a channeller of music as Elvis was with his voice...both hit u in ways u just cant articulate
Stevie was just good at EVERYTHING. Such incredible control. Who would have thought he could have such a light touch when he wanted to as well with those vice grip fingers. He always had one more trick up his sleeve, a little more gas in the tank when it came to his guitar playing. It NEVER got boring, which lets be honest.. sometimes blues guitar does. Absolute legend.
This may be sacrilege, but I love Stevies voice as much as his guitar playing. I know, I know! It drips blues, understanding of the lyrics and is so effective. Scrape me off the floor! Eh, eh!!
and from what I've seen and heard he was a sweet person, yes he had issues, fame I'm guessing would have been one of them, absolutely one of the truest, best? yeah maybe but definitely, DEFINITELY, UNARGUABLY one of the most heart felt, from the soul, like so many others, no matter there exceedingly great talent that have passed as of late were one of a kind PERIOD, and very sadly missed. THANK YOU SRV!
i think tin pan alley was the evolution of one of his first few songs which was dirty pool.. same with Shake N Bake eventually becoming scuttle buttin'
This brings back memories. I used to collect every SRV bootleg I could get my hands on. I got the complete ACL show from ‘83 on dvd and always loved this version, still played on Number One, instead of Charley, the lipstick guitar....
Omg blew me away! Why werent Srevie & Double Trouble asked to do Live Aid!? Can u imagine ...maybe Bowie had some influence after he thought Stevie wud drop his band & run around makin Bowie sound good lol Just a thought! Great version 🤘🏻❣🇬🇧
I have the dvd of his concert in Tokyo, January 1985. When he plays Tin Pan Alley he changes to Dirty Pool! He just turns to Chris and Tommy and yells “Dirty Pool”! He plays some really good sloooow blues in that concert! He really blasts Texas Flood too! In the intro of the song he makes a little mistake and you can hear him go, “Haha” which makes Tommy turn and look kinda like huh?! He sings with such force on it too! It’s before he got clean but it’s a fantastic concert! eBay has a few of them for sale. If you haven’t watched it I highly recommend it! Oh, the whole concert is here on UA-cam too, but I prefer to watch the dvd on my big tv so you don’t get any annoying ads pop up in the middle of solo he’s doing!
i migliori sono i primi ad andarsene. Forse questo mondo non è fatto per loro, forse c'è un mondo migliore dover suonano. non posso smettere di commuovermi ogni volta che sento questo brano.
This is the s*** I love this song even down to the dood with 2 by 4 soooo crazy the things we have done an seen along the way just to crazy still alive to tell about it well I know one thing god loves me or I'd not b textin
I don’t think he felt comfortable on the first ACL show…. He looks uptight and things didn’t flow during the whole set. This is still great, but he topped it 1000 times over.
ACL is about as big as it gets for Texas born artists. Producer Terry Lickona said Stevie was BIG time nervous. He probably hit the bottle a little extra because of it too. The 1989 performance easily tops it though. No drugs or alcohol and he was just hitting his stride as a player, singer, and artist
I love that you can hear him saying "ahhhhh" throughout. He definitely felt the music he played. Best guitar player ever for me.
I love that. I concur
These people had no idea that they were witnessing history in the making.
agreed
I do agree with you but He was pretty well know around Texas before he recorded Texas Flood especially in Austin. I’m willing to bet a lot of those people in the audience used to watch Stevie when he was playing small clubs around Austin.
First time seeing this version. Had only seen this with Johnny Copeland. His talent can move me to tears every time I watch.
Same here. I like to take late night drives in the summer, windows open on the back roads with this on full volume, great therapy.
I have been a live sound engineer for over 30 years. Seeing him live the first time in 83 is when I decided I wanted to be a live sound guy. I sat behind the sound booth and it was life changing.
I thought I was the only one lol
RIP and long Stevie Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 - August 27, 1990), aged 35
You will always be remembered as a legend.
Around 8:55 he gets upset because of that bass note, lmao, hes like -aaaahhh....

Srv will never be duplicated...EVER. His tone and ability are simply unmatched. You can try, but will never sound like him.

I have a wall dedicated to srv in my house.forever in my heart.nobody knows but my family.its my life srv forever.
I don’t understand a why so many people who are so unique and talented are gone so fast, I feel like this was yesterday
Just another kick as song from the man soooo great
I love the sounds he gets out of that old guitar!!! They were made for each other..

In e Minor he was great but everything come on.
What can you say, simply the greatest ✌️
The people back then had no clue how good he was.just stunned.
Stevie’s blues shakes me to my core. It’s an emotional thing with Stevie. Pure emotion.
Wish I could be there back in time ! Wonderful !

Ultimately the goat blues star.
Does not get any better than that

I got goosbump...absolutly incredible
RIP Master 🙏🏿
It is not possible to be better. When Stevie left he took it with him.
Just to show the True Energy he was!
It’s really interesting how he rides the tone knob on his guitar while playing as well as the volume.
i think tin pan alley was the evolution of one of his first few songs which was dirty pool.. same with Shake N Bake eventually becoming scuttle buttin'
He didn't write Tin Pan Alley it's a blues standard
You were a man Stevie. You were a great big man

i dont think he had that guitar until 84
So glad I got to see him live. He was outstanding. Gone too soon😔
Damn at those veins, pure, raw intense soul flowing through those veins
Écoutez l’âme du blues racontée par cet immense personnalité qui avait percé le mystère de la Vie.

I'm sorry but Stevie is up with BB for the king of the blues. The man gives everything

Incredibile
That kind of playing cannot be taught.
And playing with the feel
There’s always that one dude cheering while Stevie’s playing 🤣
Half of these pop stars have the microphone in their mouth. SRV‘s voice is so strong, he hast to lean AWAY from the microphone.
That's god thing that's all I can say
SVR is for guitar playing what Messi is for football
Like Jordan in 🏀
Puts me to sleep
6:40
Good catch

Do you have Stevie Ray Vaughan and The Fabulous Thunderbirds on Austin City Limits in 1984?
Unfortunately not
