He is a role model because he was able to go to the depths of hell and come back clean and sober. Watching someone rise through that type of adversity shows that anyone can get sober…. That’s what a role model and inspiration. He went to manny AA meetings talked to countless people about addiction.

The thing about Stevie, is that he was never arrogant to think he was the best. He high respect for the former/older bluesmen. This is why he is great.
You're exactly right. Just read what he said about Jimi and it all makes sense. We are the culmination of our influences and heroes. If we play too, someone somewhere feels that way about you.
I watch Stevie Ray Vaughan, every day! He was a brilliant performer, and he was a special talent that never will be again. People try to play like Stevie Ray, but they can not attain his talent. It's a fact!

There will never be another Stevie Ray Vaughan. He can not be copied...ever. SRV, is beloved by so many of us. Hopefully those who haven't had the privilege of discovering the"Blues" just yet, will be turned on to it. It's a wonderful genre. SRV revived the Blue's, and made it come back to life. All in all, he put his own stamp on it. His own interpretation of it. A sort of, Blue's Rockin Jazz. Watching him play live is such a gift. 🌟 Many "Bluesmen" came before Stevie, and he had such an appreciation for them. If I could speak to Stevie today, I would thank him for having such a humble spirit. His music lives on.

SRV's playing was magical. So effortless that he just thought about the music and it would flow out. Practiced to the point that the music was just a part of him. He simply looks naked without his guitar. Never lost on the fretboard. Always the precise note. No need to look at the strings. Who today is working that hard for their music?
About SRV. Saw him early in his career, about 200 showed up in a place that would seat 2000. Nobody mentions the slight “intonations” on his vocal. Stevie Rays deep growly southern drawl, and the higher octave at the end of lyrics - almost like a hiccup - I LOVE his voice!! Super Talented ALL the WAY!!! 😘🎉❤💃💠💠💠 Blues LEGEND!!!
My drummer partied with SRV in the 80's, and even got to jam during his sound check....SRV is my main influence,, and I am so jealous that he got to meet him in a way.

I am from Chicago and remember seeing an article in the Tribune about his life and his Cadillac Coffin. This is a good catch and an awesome song. I saw Stevie and Eric Clapton at Alpine Valley the night before the helicopter went down. It was foggy as hell. The whole weekend.
this is what i love about stevie.... every song is played like its the final song ever. i just saw kenny wayne last week in morristown nj. and it was missing this kind of passion.
Especially back in those days, pre- NATO. Wouldn't put it past SRV to joke that the Russians will probably bomb us before we hit the stage. It's too safe now, or is it
Kenny has a singer most times. He feels it in his guitar, that's clear. But someone else does the vocals. Some tracks are beautiful and strong. (Blue on Black....) SRV was a single conduit; the guitar AND the vocal. It's a tidal wave of expression that sweeps you up and carry you along. Sitll, some people aren't so hot on him. It's OK though, isn't it?
Stevie Ray Vaughan the legend of blue's and Rock n roll..guitar legend and great vocalist..great band..what a performance and concerts were phenominal..never be another SRV..U are missed SRV
He was totally humble about who he was and laid a lot of what he could do on a foundation of the Blues giants, Hendrix and all the players that make Blues a powerful fraternity. Some people aren't crazy about the Blues. But it's OK. We're fine.
Stevie, I can't believe how many more of your albums are released For instance, Your "Mary had a little lamb" was released after you died & I was born. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! I even know one more thing, How much you enjoyed playing with Tommy & Chris before you & Double Trouble added Reese. But then again I even know how much you enjoyed playing for the people that attended your shows, SRV, There's one person I know that saw you & Double Trouble In concert when he was 18. & that was my dad! RIP Stevie.
Brilliant! This song reminds me of my burnt out Vietnam vet uncle Dave. I give him full credit for turning me on to rock-'n'-roll. The only music I knew until then were polkas and Laurence Welk. Thank you Uncle Dave! Without you I might have turned out square. Rest in peace 🍻
Doesn't matter what Stevie would say because we know how generous and humble he was. Stevie stated that Jimmy Vaughan was better than him. EVERYONE knows the real truth there. If you think Hendrix was better that's fine but, your comment holds no relevence in reality. Jimi was a true original gifted in creativity. SRV was gifted as an exceptional player with incredible tone and improvisational skills clearly surpassing most everyone that I can think of including Hendrix.

I'm reading this conversation and cracking up non stop... LOL
Willie the Wimp was buried today,
They laid him to rest in a special way.
Sent him off in the finest style
That casket-mobile really drove 'em wild
Southside Chicago will think of him often
Talkin' 'bout Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin,
Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin
Stevie felt every lick he played and every word he sang.so much soul in one fine man.
I am from Chicago and remember seeing an article in the Tribune about his life and his Cadillac Coffin. This is a good catch and an awesome song. I saw Stevie and Eric Clapton at Alpine Valley the night before the helicopter went down. It was foggy as hell. The whole weekend.
Every time I listen to or watch Stevie, I want to go play my guitar and get better. Guess I need to watch during the day when my wife isn't asleep!
August 27,1990...R.I.P. SRV!
this is what i love about stevie.... every song is played like its the final song ever.
i just saw kenny wayne last week in morristown nj. and it was missing this kind of passion.
I haven't seen Kenny since before he married Mel Gibson's daughter. Sad to hear he lost the passion. Heh? Heh?
Jeffrey Raney Hah! I see what you did there!
🎼 Goodbye!! WILLIE!!! 🎼🎙️💟💕
Life without you , Stevie Ray vaughan
We'd be hearing some really amazing stuff. one in a zillion , he was one of kind, the right kind !!.
One of my favorite songs Stevie did.
Can’t believe this only has 1.4 million views - Come On - People give it up for the Texas 🌪️🌪️🌪️ BLUES Man Extraordinaire !!! 😘 👏 👏 👏 🎉
This was live, I repeat this was live.
Damn, I miss him. Such a huge talent taken way before his time. Damn.
I Love SRV ...I Like The Vid .
Great Video.I saw him twice.Oce,in 1987 at Akron University JAR arena. And,once opening up for Robert Plant...Great Entertainer and Guitarist!!!!
This beautiful, cool, talented , joyful, warm hearted, soulful man! Soo missed....................
I have GREAT taste in music....The man, NO myth, And ALL legend...SRV..
I never saw him in person but really like is music. He is definately one of a kind.
Renoruona
Stevie Ray Vaughan the legend of blue's and Rock n roll..guitar legend and great vocalist..great band..what a performance and concerts were phenominal..never be another SRV..U are missed SRV
He was totally humble about who he was and laid a lot of what he could do on a foundation of the Blues giants, Hendrix and all the players that make Blues a powerful fraternity. Some people aren't crazy about the Blues. But it's OK. We're fine.
This a good song.
Amazing playing! And he looks so happy!! Not many people in the world are this happy at work! :-)
Fantastic SRV so loveable he looks like he's having fun with such smile on his solos on guitar ❤❤❤
Stevie,
I can't believe how many more of your albums are released For instance, Your "Mary had a little lamb" was released after you died & I was born.
RIP Stevie.
RIP stevie
One of my favorite guitar players. Bad mother
There will never be anyone better than SRV.
When I'm ever feeling down Stevie helps me through the day :)
He put on a great show at River bend
Doesn't matter what Stevie would say because we know how generous and humble he was.
Stevie stated that Jimmy Vaughan was better than him. EVERYONE knows the real truth there.
If you think Hendrix was better that's fine but, your comment holds no relevence in reality.
Jimi was a true original gifted in creativity. SRV was gifted as an exceptional player with incredible tone and improvisational skills clearly surpassing most everyone that I can think of including Hendrix.
I miss you stevie...
I loved this man. I saw him 3 times. His voice was so special, and the way he played his guitar!!! RIP SRV
