The biggest problem indifference I have is that to me SRVS life is about the same amount that he has been lost to us and who knows what would and could of came of his existence now I mean we will never get to experience him and the gift of guitar player and singer but he may have fizzled out or he may be still kicking it out one thing I believe I know is that his big heart and his life in recovery from the alcohol and drugs would still be strong and God bless him just for that alone let alone his influence on the rock and especially the blues revival him alone on that alone too.
Stevie loved smaller crowds He was clean and on top of his game here and he loved playing in Louisiana This was just after he played at Grant Street Dance Hall in Lafayette. Helluva show, as always!!!
You want to a legend ..look at Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band..Stevie puts on the greatest performance he knows how too..and its straight from his heart...
If this is the April 22nd show on the SS President when he backed up BB King... I was in the third row in Front of SRV, after show we went back stage... SRV gave me his pick that he played with that night.our friend Angie new Renee his guitar tech...still have the ticket stubs and the pick Stevie gave me out of his pocket of change...the meat end is wore off - both sides- has his name on it - Red in Color...!!! Cool momento-.it has been in an award vase for all this time...it was a great show !!
The President was great. Saw Stevie on the boat in 84 or 85. Best to date. Others on the river boat, BB when The Thrill is Gone was just out, man could he belt that out. Taj, always great. The river boat went up river and was made into a casino, then sold and cut up in to 12x12 foot pieces. Some still dream of putting it together. May have been scrapped by now. New Orleans was a great place for great music.
if you never got a chance to see him ,? wow what a performance and the 1st time was at blossom music center a beautiful outdoor pavilion outside cleveland really the best place to see a concert soundwise and everything' I watched stevie ray from 1980 to 90 last show at blossom was with joe cocker and a band called the cresados which kicked ass also , but as the experience expressed by so many as being a spirtual sensation he was totally hypnotizing in a very powerful electric way live and he got more brilliant as a player obviously'', never forget his performances and these so called blues masters today? couldn't put a patch on his ass.
I was at this show in 1987 on the riverboat. I brought the Texas Flood album sleeve and got it autographed by Stevie AND drummer Chris Layton after the show ! I still have that album cover and great memories of those days.
That boat was so special for concerts.. this show was spectacular.. BBking... wow...also saw Tina Turner perform Proud Mary while rolling down the river.. it was electric!!! But tye end of tour party for the Rolling Stones Tattoo you tour on the river was epic. Every musician in town was there.. neville Btothers played.. the food was spectacular... the wooden dance floor on the President has the perfect surface for dancing... so sad to see it gone.. but very grateful for every moment on-board to hear some of the best concerts of my life. This video btings back memories
Wow I wish I would have been there all of those great artists, musicians, I'm 60 years old it seems to me that SRV will never fade away idk it's been like 34 years since his passing, death helicopter crash such a shame and loss for the blues I often wonder what he would be playing I mean he'd only be like 70 years old and to me he seemed to live a lifetime in such a short span of time I am sure glad for him that he got himself cleaned up before he passed and went on to another place. RIP PEACE SRV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 For each year.
I watch and listen to this video and i am just offstruck on the technical level of his playing the guitar and all the different sounds he makes from his guitar he has to be the emulated guitarist ever in my opinion period bar No one simply the best to ever pick up a guitar.
I saw Stevie twice…at the New Orleans Jazz Fest and on the President Riverboat Cruise. Albert King performed as well and they also played a few together.
You know what I hope and pray that their is a heaven and he'll cause this cat here Descerved more time in this thing we call life I mean he gets clean and sober and only gets to live a couple years it's just not cool so I'm just going to say that and God can strike me Down or whatever comes my way cause the dude was a great guitarist and from what I hear good dude.
I guess the camera men didn't know any better that they should have been panned on SRV the whole time he was playing this song cause he rips it up he is a human highlight reel amateur camera men.
Best guitarist there ever was and ever will be.
You got that right.
