In these youtube videos nobody mentions the problem with blurry edges due to much smaller optics with Goggles 2. I bought mine after watching a bunch of videos where zero people mentioned this and when I got it I was surprised and dissapointed with blury edges to discover a bunch of people on the forums talking about this. Actually, there is no one saying that there are no blurry edges problem, so it seems like 100% of the people has it, but most youtubers don't mention it for some reason.
Apologies for not mentioning it in this video. I merely wanted to show the image quality difference between the Goggles. I'm personally not affected by the blurry edges of the Goggles 2 that I've heard from others online. In fact, I get blurry edges on the Goggles V2 and can't seem to remove them completely. Perhaps I'm lucky and the G2 face shape design profile they used matches me.
Thanks a lot for the video! Somehow it's the only comparison I can find on UA-cam showing the two visuals. You'd think people will use UA-cam to show video, but most reviews might as well have been podcasts... Sadly, I still have a hard time deciding. My current issue is that I don't know how good the V2's video is compared to the G2, and after looking around I can't find any way to test them for myself to make the decision. From your experience, would you say that the difference in resolution is making a noticeable difference? It irks me that the O3's 1080 will get downscaled to 810, because it pretty much necessarily will distort the image, being a non-integer reduction. I'm really tempted to pull the trigger on the V2 because of the many many pros it has going for it, such as padding, XT60, analog in etc... But I'm kinda worried that it might end up being expensive junk too soon, seeing as even now we're lucky DJI has made the O3 work with the V2...
Sorry for the late response. I haven't used the V2 with the O3 that much to really say. In my experience, a downscaled image generally looks better as it has more information and detail to reprocess the smaller image. Personally, once I get flying, I forget about all the image quality, resolution, etc and just fly. I would say the resolution doesn't make much a noticeable difference to me when flying freestyle at speed. I guess it might be slightly helpful to have higher resolution when flying in tree canopies to get better details of twigs, branches and leaves. But I don't do that often. Hope that helps!
Also, in my opinion the V2 still has so much going for it, and the popularity of it from so many pilots, I think it won't be junk any time soon. They're so versatile. Even decent quality old second hand analog goggles still cost as much as the V2.
Sorry, it's really hard for me to do long range where I live. Wish I could. Joshua Bardwell says that range comparisons can be done through concrete such as an empty parking lot (top floor flying to bottom floor), but even then I can't find any empty ones around me.

And what is the difference after the update that i can't choose power output anymore? Is it then permanent on 1200mw or permanent on 25mw or in-between?? It's all so confusing to me...want to update my v2 to use it with one or two or quads but still want to use all my old vistas (cool would be if the dji osd also works, without wtfos)...or is official OSD only possible with the o3 on v2 and not with the vistas / AirUnits?
wish i had a one of them new Lumix GH6 and googles 2 . got to work overtime . baloney sandwiches
What about latency. Thats the only thing a care about tbh.
I didn't speak about or do latency testing because there are other videos that already take a more scientific approach to that. Check out Chris Rosser's video on UA-cam. Personally, using the O3 air unit, I've tried the V2 with 120fps and G2 with 100fps and I can't tell the difference. I'm not a racer, I fly freestyle in parks for fun and either of these two goggles are just as good (edit: in terms of latency)
Muy mala comparacion se ve mucho mejor en las v2 nose q quisiste inventar
