Hey just a follow-up. I returned the Integra goggles last week and my G2 arrived yesterday. I very much like the diopter adjustment as well as the increased field-of-view. I also like the touchpad. I personally don't have any blurry issues. Your video helped a lot. thank you.
Glad you liked your purchase! You are one of the few lucky ones without the blurring edges😜 (Or maybe because you are using 4:3?) Thanks for letting me and us know😉 Happy flying!
But, how's the fit? I've yet to hear anyone say they fit good and don't hurt somewhere on their nose. Also, they have lots of light leak around the perimeter. Mads Tech says they fans don't work pretty much at all for de-fogging, and if you are a person who sweats a lot, they will become soaked with sweat 💦 ! Yuck! So many compromises. Let's just face it, it's a bad design. A bad design DJI doesn't seem interested at all in fixing.
I'm so glad I stuck with my DJI V2 goggles! They work fantastic for analog too. I got custom diopters made from RHO LENS in Germany, and my image quality is crystal clear edge to edge all the time! A Fantastic image that's 💯% perfect! Those lenses are the key! I got the 2nd foam DJI made and they fit perfect and comfortable with zero light leak, after I made a small foam part to fit my nose tip area. Simple to do, but patience is needed so you don't pluck out too much foam to allow light leaks. It's just a matter of tiny plucks so you don't take too much away at once. With the iFlight Crystal antenna kit, it's as compact as it can be and gets great reception.
@@KOrnhOliO1 Glad to hear. It seems there are no perfect goggles. I was flying around today with my crocodile baby/DJI 03 air unit with the goggles 2. I must admit the image was stunning. But you're right the fit isn't the greatest with significant light leak. The bitter and the sweet.
@@scotthines5834 Yeah, light leak kinda ruins the immersive experience, IMO. I saw a brand new video yesterday where a guy said he got the newest foam for the G2 and it was the fix. I'd search for it. It's the only thing that made my V2's fit perfect and be so comfy! :)
Thanks very much appreciated. 😊 There are other points that make the integra a better choice for some that I didn’t delve into though like the integrated gps for those flying the avata.
@@MrCoffis hi, would be cool if you could review and find the best aftermarket goggles 2 replacement padding to give you the best comfort and picture clarity 👍
@@darrenowens1543 The modifications I have done to mine look very similar to the foam iflight is selling for the G2s and many who had problems with the G2s are saying that it solved the issues they had. I will probably be ordering them next. I can review it too when it arrives.
@@MrCoffisHi and thanks for your in-depth comparison of the integra and the G2’s. Your review definitely helped me decide on a pair of the G2’s. Did you ever fit and compare the aftermarket foams for your G2 head set as I would love to know the eventual outcome? Thanks.
I went ahead and bought the kit from DJI, the Avata drone, the G2 and both controllers. I have a pretty fat head so I had already tried on a pair of the G2’s, and I found the exact same problem that you talked about with the outside edges being really blurry, but I planned on making some modifications myself and like you I liked the glass diopters better, however, I’m trifocal glasses so I just got a print of my script from my glasses that I just got made like three weeks ago and I’m going to a third-party to get some glass Prescription diopters for the G2. I also ordered a use set of goggles Integra just to see, if I like those or if they felt any different on my face. I’m kind of torn in between on the way you control either one of them you know one with a joystick one with sliding your finger on a pad. They both are kind of a pain in the butt lol anyway, I’ll keep in touch with you and let you know how things progress lol I did order your softer foam inserts that you sent me a link to.hopefully those will help. They’re supposed to put you pretty close to the glass. Anyway, thank you for all your help. I really appreciate it. Thanks again Larry.
You are welcome. Let me know which you prefer between the two once you get the integra. Would be interesting to see. Most people prefer the G2 because of the bigger fov but some find the blurry edges annoying and prefer the integra. One thing to note though the avata is not an ideal drone to use with the G2. You will have to take out your phone to register your location because of rfid where as with the integra you have that gps integrated into the goggles giving you the “turn on and fly experience.”
Thanks!☺️ I appreciate it. But take into consideration that I only concentrated on the picture aspect of the goggles here as I fly non dji fpv drones. If you are flying with the dji avata the integra makes your life easier due to the remote id spiel. You won’t have to log in through your phone every time you go flying since it has integrated GPS. Just something to keep in mind. There are other features too that are different in each but imo not worth to talk about because they don’t really change anything. Also rumour has it new goggles might be around the corner but nobody knows how soon.
@@prarthnaroles2253 you can buy a strap or a clamp that holds the battery on the strap for the G2s (Or even 3D print one) to get the same integrated feel. The battery would then also be replaceable as compared to the integras. The integras can not be replaced that easily and you’ll have to, once the batteries start to lose their capacity. You’ll have to do some spot welding to replace the old ones with newer ones. Not something that’s impossible to do just a little bit of a hassle once every year or maybe more.
Thanks ☺️ Greatly appreciated and noted! Btw April 11th we will be seeing the new dji goggles so you might want to hold on for a bit longer before pulling the trigger 😉
@@MrCoffis True and I have my plastic ready to buy a avata 2 so we’ll see….. Im just wondering if the Goggles 3 will be backwards compatible for all my 03 air units and drones I have that require them?
@@LovesM855A1 It’s 100% going to be backwards compatible like all the goggles before it. But you can hope for a price drop on the g2 and avata immediately or soon after if you don’t like the new ones.
Excellent detailed breakdown. Thanks for going into so much depth which really helped me to understand which goggles would suit me, and why. IF I decide to buy an Avata, I'll be buying the G2 goggles :)
Thanks! 😊 Keep in mind though that if you are going to buy the avata (with the G2) you will apparently need to take out your phone to affirm your gps position so that you can unlock your drone. (I don’t own an avata so I don’t know details) The integra has an integrated GPS that makes your life much easier in this regard, since you don’t need a phone to go flying. I did not delve into these topics because others already talked about it and I wanted my review to be “display” centric which is what’s most important imo for general fpv pilots.
The Avata is amazing, but fragile, like all DJI drones. The 03 air unit is the exact same optics as the Avata. You can buy a better and more durable Avata as an FPV drone, made with a carbon fiber frame, like all FPV drones pretty much are. Other end of the spectrum in durability and also cheaper! You'll have a gigantic variety of batteries costing you a fraction of those unbelievably over priced DJI batteries. You can choose between bigger batteries that will give you longer flight time, or smaller batteries that will give you less flight time, but significantly more maneuvering and much better handling. These FPV drones with the same exact image quality as Avata are available in many different sizes too. Lots of great reviews to watch here on UA-cam. Just search for DJI 03 Cinewhoop or something similar. Definitely my choice because you can buy two for not much more than one Avata, and they're way more durable, repairable, and versatile. And batteries are a fraction of the price! 😎🤘
Good comparison and explanation between the two Goggles. I've been debating which goggles to choose when I order my Avata drone, and your video is so helpful. You did a great job, and it's appreciated. You even showed additional graphics and images to push your content even further. Well done.
Thank you very much for your kind words. 😊 I am glad I could be of help. If you have the chance to wear the goggles before purchasing, then I would advise you to do so as goggles are like shoes; one size can’t fit all especially these new ones because of their smaller size and margin to find a sweet spot.
Im looking to buy a DJI Avata and the choices between goggles definitely had me confused. This was by far the most informative video on them and your graphics were great! You definitely got a sub from me and now Im looking at different foam versions to improve the G2
Thanks appreciate it. 😊 If you are going for avata then the picture in the goggles is one part of what you should think about. The other part would be convenience. If you are flying in a region where remote id is mandatory then you will have to take your phone out everytime before flying which annoys a lot of people. The integra has a GPS built in which then sends it to the drone so that the pilots location is made public. Verifying your position would have to done manually with your phone otherwise. Hence you won’t have to worry about anything before flying other than turning on and strapping into your goggles.
@@MrCoffis I would say yes, I had the V2 and have been using the Integra for a few months but I think I will try the G2 also thanks to your experience and I will do the same things you did to understand what is best for me!! 🙏🏻
@@fede_fpv I think if you’re coming from the V2 you’ll find the G2 a better fit because of the wider field of view. Most who get used to a wider fov can’t go back to a smaller one. It’s one of those things where you can’t go back to. A bit like going back to analog after digital 😜 But rumour has it a new pair of goggles might be close, along with the O4 air unit. So it might be worth keeping that in mind too!
Thanks highly appreciated. I definitely will though I doubt I will come across a goggles 3. Only if maybe someone I know gets one I’ll do, but judging from the price difference of G2 and G3 I doubt the goggles will be much different.
As an fpv pilot this is an awesome video. I bought the G2 goggles used (basically new) for 400 euros. I bought aftermarket foam and now i dont have light leak but still blurry corners. Wich is ok i guess because before that i was using the walksnail v1 goggles that had a smaller screen size and also a little blurry edges. I didnt try the Dji goglles "V2" since many people including mr steele say they dont suffer from this problem. BTW my anaolg fatshark HD3 also have the blurry edges problem. I think it was really interesting that you talked about the "cheap lenses" point. I guess thats why good camera lenses are so freaking expensive. TLDR what ever thanks for the awesome vid!
Thanks for the awesome comment.🙃 Yeah you need to come as close as possible to the lenses to minimise the blur but it doesn't completely go away. The FOV compared to the integra and G3 is worth the blurry edge though imo. Its something you have to try on first to be able to decide for yourself. You never notice the blur while flying but the fov is something you always notice and crucial for better immersion. Something I think most would prefer. Also external battery has more benefits than one would think. Read of someone frying their G3s during charging over USB-C recently. For that price it was definitely a good deal. Yeah you are right about camera lenses. For quality you have to pay a lot. 🥲
You are welcome. 😊 Btw there have been leaks for the new goggles 3 so it might be a good idea to wait out till they release and then make a purchase decision. The G2 will most probably experience a price drop too if you don’t end up going with the G3.
Mine wasn’t a good foam since I had to cut it into different pieces from another foam that wasn’t as good in getting you closer to the lenses. It was a proof of concept at that point in time. I eventually got this one here. Does a similar job only a bit better. You’ll have to clean the goggles lenses a bit more often though. ua-cam.com/video/0ZCr68j1JPk/v-deo.htmlsi=HYCPbO4m9wk6UiM2
I’ll make a video today about it. I am back at using the stock foam though, because my foam gets me too close to the lenses 😂 and that introduces other problems. The sweet spot exists…I think 😂 😭
If you can try them on before hand from a friend, and even try the V2s it would probably give you a better idea of what will be a better choice for you. Personally I feel the V2s and G2s are the only options that come into question for my preferences. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a hold of the V2s 🫤 On the bright side I love the small size of the G2s and are really lightweight.
Thank you for your kind words! 😊 It took me quite a while to come to a conclusion and it wasn’t easy considering there was also a price difference. If you are considering to buy either of the two I would recommend trying them on before purchase if possible. The fit is like shoes; there is no 1 size fit all.
👍👍 Excellent in-depth comparison MrCoffis!!! I recently got to briefly try out both Goggles at the mall. Goggles 2 was the clear (intentional pun) winner thanks to individual diopter adjustments, which are fantastic. The slightly wider FOV was also a winner vs Integra. I just bought a Mini 4 Pro and installed the latest update which invites both goggles sets to the M4P party. So now the big question is whether to go for Goggles 2 (hopefully on a huge sale) or wait for the upcoming OcuSync 4 version next year. Thanks again for the great presentation! _Merry Christmas & Happy New Year_ from Thailand young fella!😁
Thanks appreciate it! 😊 Well as anything in technology waiting will always give you better products but with that logic you could also be waiting forever so I can’t help you with that question 🥲 sometimes we just slip and press “buy now”. I really don’t know when to expect the new goggles tbh. It’s already been 8 months (😭 time flies) since integra released so…idk Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you too! 😊 🎄 🎁
Nice explanation of the G2 lens issue. We people with cheap progressive lenses are used to narrow restricted vision where we turn out heads instead of our eyes, so this might not be as much a problem for us.
Hey thank you for that video. You have been reading my mind. I've been using the Integra for the last several days and dislike the field of view when in 4:3 aspect ratio. It looks like a TV set across the room. 16:9 looks good. But I much prefer flying in 4:3. I ordered the Goggles 2 for increased immersion as you stated. I guess I'll send back the one that doesn't work for me. Sounds like the secret is to get your eyes closer to the lenses. Great video for all of us with short attention spans.
Haha thanks😊. Glad I could be of help. I was trying to make the video as entertaining as possible while informative at the same time. I think you will prefer the G2s, but neither is a perfect goggle. The first thing you will hate is the small sweet spot. If you fly 4:3 though the issues I have talked about most probably won’t be a thing for you. It’s mainly when flying in 16:9 at the very far edges that you will see some blurring (after coming closer to the lenses) I also felt like looking at a TV screen with the integras btw. I am coming from analog box goggles where the screen is huge and going back to a smaller fov is hard. 😜
I’ll definitely let you know which ones I choose and also how the new padding feels. I ordered two different sets of that today. So anyway thanks again for everything. Are you going to put out some more videos?
I’ve been wanting to put out some more videos, but there’s always something in the way. Always a new project to drain one’s time in. If I get my hands on the G3s I will definitely make a video about that.
Interesting observations m8. I actually flew my dji avata with goggles 2 for the first time today. It was also my first time ever flying fpv. I did realize right away that the images seen on the edges were blury. Especially the text was very difficult to read. I messed with the goggles and adjusted then until I found the sweet spot which was pushing them downwards more towards my nose. The reason why I am here is because I totally dislike the 2 cables coming out of the goggles 2. I hear the integra doesn't need cables coming out of it and that they can be charged with a power bank while being used. Because of this I might return the goggle 2 amd get the integras.
That’s the thing some things can be both positives and negatives. Like the integrated battery on the integra is better because you don’t have cables hanging out but it’s worse when you need to recharge and even more so when you need to be showing your POV to a director at the same time if you do it professionally because that USB C port is going to be used up by it. Being able to quickly swap batteries is a plus in those situations. There are battery holders you can buy which you attach the battery to the strap and the experience gets more integra like. Its very nuanced and you need to know your own usecase. For the dji avata the integra is a better fit because of the integrated gps and if you are flying it recreationally you don’t care about the battery/director situation and it comes down to price and picture quality. Personally I enjoy the wider fov more. The integra feels more like you are looking at a screen and the G2 is more immersive. If it justifies the price difference probably not but it’s something the individual has to decide for themselves. For me I wanted to have the most immersive experience possible and I haven’t regretted my choice in hindsight though it did hurt my wallet 🫤
@@MrCoffisthat's awesome dude. Yes before I decided to get the goggles 2 I did in fact do some major research into the 2 goggles. I guess I just forgot why I chose the goggles 2 over the integra. I basically chose goggles 2 over the integra because of everything you said. Also I believe the goggles 2 could wirelessly stream to other goggles and devices which is cool for sharing flight experience with others. I actually do have a battery clip for my headset straps although now il have to find a way to manage the cable that goes to my phone for the GPS ID. I just don't understand why they couldn't make it so that the GPS information could be retrieved from the phone wirelessly. Maybe a firmware update will make this possible in the future?
@@edgararcega3046 it’s definitely possible according to the hardware built into the G2 (bluetooth 5.2 etc) but dji isn’t really known to listen to the wants of the community so I wouldn’t hope on it. It’s definitely odd they built so much hardware into it but have not delivered any features that use it as of yet. So if they ever release any new features the G2s will probably be the one receiving them over the integras because of the hardware it has which the integra lacks and the price difference. But as of now the integra is the better option in that regard for avata pilots. Also the feature you mention about sharing a flight is also possible with the integra if am not mistaken. The spectator mode? I have used it with my friends but we all have the G2 so am not sure.
You are very welcome. Great! Sounds like you made the right choice. Enjoy! along with the extra 💵 in your pocket 😉 for not going or having to go with the G2. No inserts is the 🔑
Yeah, I know and as I mentioned, I’m licensed with the FAA so I had to follow a whole different set of rules anyway, but that said I’m not real worried about having to do that as much as I am which one’s gonna be most comfortable for me. And why can’t we just add a GPS to the G2? I mean it isn’t like I have an over the years modified a whole bunch of things that aren’t supposed to be modified lol
Haha 😂 unfortunately I couldn’t because I was abroad when I got both of them so I had nothing with me. The only thing I could compare was how well you can see the image, by using different images together with the DJI OSD. It really translates well and after flying my views have not changed for the G2, besides from one fact that you also shouldn’t get too close to the lenses. I’ve been trying to make another video about that but I’ve been busy setting up a server (time sinks) and I think its time to prioritise you guys as the video has gotten quite a few views by now.
I franken foamed my G2 by cutting away the top foam completely. I get a perfect view, but the googles are painful to wear. Looks like I have to add a top strap to unload the weight on my nose. Thanks for the video. I'm staying with the G2. Maybe, someday DJI will release a V3 of their old style. But, for now the G2 is the best.
Thanks! I did the same to mine but reverted back to the OG because of the comfort. I came to the same conclusion about the goggles 😜 we are all waiting for a V3 😂
You need to get closer to the lenses to clear out the edges…but too close you start getting a halo in your peripheral view and smudges from your eyelids on the lenses. I have added a link in the description to the foam I use right now.
I’ve been meaning to for a long while 🙈 I’ve even started the editing but I got stopped and it remained unfinished. I’ll do my best. I’m back to the stock foam just fyi since am using 4:3 most of the time anyway 😉
@@MrCoffis Sounds great. Why did you switched back? I ordered both goggles to test them out and i think i stay with the G2's because of the fov. But i have lots of light leaks with the stock mask.
@@amsob well mostly because my custom foam is very flimsy and it’s in two pieces and it doesn’t stay firmly onto my face. I haven’t ordered another foam yet but I have it on my todo list…and since I fly 4:3 the unsharp edges are not that visible anymore and also I might be imagining this but I think the foam got used to my face and seems to fit better than before. PS. I heard good things about the iflight foam.
@@MrCoffis Yeah the 4:3 makes it less annoying. I ordered 2 iflight type B foams and the Pyrodrone Comfyfoam V2. one to have as is and the other to frankenrig together with the comfyfoam.
It is mentioned for the end of the video that you have not flown with either set of goggles… Since I significant time has passed since this video was released, how are you enjoying your G2? I am awaiting arrival of my Integra today or tomorrow and I’m interested in yourexperience
My initial assessment that you don’t really notice the edges when flying was right and I enjoy the bigger field of view. Also the dji foam gave in a bit which made it a bit more comfortable to wear and gets you a bit closer to the lenses. I also got a 3rd party foam which makes it more comfortable and improves the blurriness, though my only gripe is that I still notice that there is no sweet spot. Getting closer to the lenses also introduces a halo in the peripheral vision but the screens are perfectly clear. Going further back removes the halo but introduces the blurriness. So there is no perfect sweet spot. And am always between the OG foam and 3rd party foam. That said though the integra also had the same halo in the peripheral view (probably because of the smaller fov; squeezing more degrees into the field of view), so it’s not something you can evade with either of the goggles. All in all I am very happy with the goggles. They are lightweight, small and disappear in the bag pack. Have great colourful screens and I think they make all the difference. Even when having blurriness isn’t an issue during flying, it still is disappointing it even exists considering the price. 🫤
Yea imo the G2s are better suited for people who wear glasses. 🤓 I am eyeing the new G3s but until they don’t give us the update that lets them work with the O3 I will restrain from getting them.
No unfortunately not. I didn’t have my drones at the time because I ordered them while being abroad, but I am guessing it shouldn’t be much different. The omni antennas are a bit larger on the integras and the internal patches should be the same. I haven’t heard anyone say anything about there being a difference in range and penetration by anyone so am guessing the difference should be a minor one.
@@nlluke5207 Both have OLEDs. The one you are probably referring to are the N3s and which have a single LCD screen in a box goggle kind of arrangement.
Incredibly helpful informative video even if it convinced me to hold off on purchasing either … now that DJI enabled FPV option for the mini and Mavic owners I’ve been curious but given the overall cost of goggles + controller … I’ll patiently wait and hope that a next iteration somehow does better than both of these.
Thanks. Glad you found it useful. If I had a choice I would hold off too, or go with the safer option which would be the V2s. They are bigger box goggles from their size but at least your chance of them fitting your face are orders of magnitude bigger than say the G2s. Depending on where you live the used market for the V2s can be fierce. I wasn’t able to get them at a reasonable price or was overbid last second.
@@MrCoffis I would go that route but the V2s dong work with the Mavic 3 line. For that the choice is Integra or G2. Great video. These things are expensive so this description of your experience is so helpful.
Thank you for the GREAT video, I'm going to be getting the AVATA and have been struggling on whether to get the Goggles 2 of the Integras. What is most important to me is the imersize flying experience, so I think that the Goggles 2 will be best. Do you agree? I come from the FPV world of the DJI Goggles 1, so that's all I really know.
Hi thanks appreciate it. Depends what’s the FOV vs the goggles 2? Are you ok to be taking out your phone everytime you want to go flying with the avata? The integra lets you do that without needing your phone everytime. Generally I would advise people who want to fly recreationally an avata to go with the integra. Its cheaper has inbuilt gps so no phone needed, no hangin battery cables since battery is integrated and did I mention its cheaper 😅? Though the screen does feel more like you are looking at a TV rather than being immersed. Its the only big difference.
So i think you missed a point. For some the googles 2 fit so bad that you are even further away from lens. Especially if the bridge of your nose is raised. Or if you have a medium to larger nose. In that case the integra might be the only remotely usable goggles out of the two. Even if i remove the faceplate i cannot get a clear image on the goggles 2. Also, some of your points about picture quality are pretty mute when it comes to actually flying. You dont fly in ultra dark conditions like that. Your not going to notice or see those reflection's. I do Appreciate your in-depth analysis of the lenses but your test images were definitely flawed.
I agree that when you fly, the image you see is a lot brighter. I just used dark images to find out what exactly was going on with the lenses and why the image appeared to look better to me on the G2 when it comes to contrast and clarity in the center region. It turned out to be the plastic lens inserts. The reflections btw happen more intensely on the G2s than on the integra. So the integra is better in that regard. The integra just removes some contrast if you use the inserts which I have to use. The fit of the G2 and integra for me is identical since they are out of the same mold and the faceplate of the integras is worse than the G2. The integras as I said in the video when you get closer to the lenses, they have a perfect image edge to edge where as the G2s improve significantly in my case but still is not perfect. If your face is not compatible with the design of these goggles then obviously you need to be at a greater distance from the goggles for you to be comfortable. I have said to others in the comments too, if you can try them on before buying, do so, because goggles are like shoes. There is no 1 size fit all. Especially when it comes to the G2s where the margin you have for the sweet spot is tiny. I have done further testing with the G2s since then and I believe the lenses are of cheap quality and I wouldn’t be surprised if some people have better lenses/ hence better image and some worse. I have 3D printed inserts that block a significant portion of the lens and that improved clarity which to me means light rays mix when they shouldn’t be mixing. I don’t know what QC standards dji has for their lenses but I know lens manufacturing is hard and definitely not cheap.
@@MrCoffis oh that interesting with the 3d printed inserts. Now that I have used both goggles I know what you mean. The diopters they include are really cheap quality and you get lots of light scatter. I would assume with custom prescription lenses the Integra goggles would be way better. I am quite happy with the Integra googles so far. I wished they used lenses like the HD zero Goggles as they are extremely good.
@@MachuPichuu yep. The inserts are sadly bad. If you use the goggles without them the image coming from the integras is perfect albeit at the cost of a smaller FOV. I suspect so too that better prescription lenses will be better but will also cost you extra. Neither is better when you consider the whole package. It comes down to personal preference and use-case. I for example use the feature of a replaceable battery of the G2s while using the USB-C port to display the shot on a monitor to a director or spotter. Something that is not possible on the integras, or which would probably need an extra dongle to do, once the internal battery runs out.
Which camera effect are you referring to? The worst lens effect is the blurriness of the outer edges of the G2. It’s not an issue for everyone but it’s a rather common issue. There are no distortions. There are just some internal reflections that are made worse than they actually are by the camera. In real life those reflections are subtle. If that is what you mean.
bloody hell i ordered googles 2 with avata than i realize there are integras with build in battery so i return the goggles 2 with avata than i saw your video and return the integras and ordered the googles 2 again with avata come on guys :-) will i finally fly my avata ? lo :-)
I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news but flying the avata with the integra will be less cumbersome than with the G2 as you have an integrated GPS module. With the G2 you will have to be pulling out your phone every time you want to fly to verify your position. With the integras you don’t need any of that. 🫤 My comparison was more focused on picture quality alone and I made my decision based on the fact that I only fly custom built drones. I don’t know how that choice would change if I had an avata though. That said I think you would be happy with either goggles 😉 so it doesn’t really matter.
@@MrCoffis LOl :-) you won’t belive it but I watched your review and one more guy and that convinced me to go for integra ! That is made my mind up :-) tomorrow getting the avata and goggles I sold all my previous fpv drones a I don’t have time to maintain it all batteries ect , beta flight all that , to much time consuming I just want to go power up and fly when I got a minute.
@@chrisdera They are I meant it as in if you fly with the avata most of the time it makes more sense to fly with the integra as you don’t have to open up your phone every time. Each goggle has its own niche usecase. Integra more suitable for pleasure G2 more suitable for professional work. It’s really a negligible difference beyond those specific usecases.
Can you post a link to the foam replacement for the G2. What you described is exactly the issues I’m facing. I too just bought both pairs and have the same conclusions.
Interesting. I have tried making my own but eventually got this instead. I got mine from n-factory they are called differently there don’t remember what but you can tell from the pictures it’s the same one. Wearing this you solve the blurriness issue but you introduce the halo in the peripheral vision essentially making it look like the integra with its halo. So a sweet spot is hard to find you just have to choose your poison. I personally I still don’t know if I prefer this or the OG foam because I really get distracted by the halo in my peripheral vision when flying. 🫤 In terms of comfort though it’s better for me.
@@MrCoffisso funny. I ordered these and I’m receiving them today. Can’t wait to see if it work. I did notice if I use the G2 without foam the view is almost perfect, we’ll see how this foam works. I ultimately need almost no foam at the forehead and eyes needs to be almost touching the lens’s to get a good view. Let’s hope this foam allows that.
I wish I could have compared them to the V2s 🫤 but the market for them is fiercely fought over. One thing I really enjoy about the G2s is the size. Though I would probably not mind the bigger V2s since my controller alone is already bigger than both goggles combined 😂
Hello, I don't understand English. Please help me which one should I choose? Is Integra's vision better than G2? If I buy G2, will the image be distorted?
There is a good chance that the edges will be blurry on the G2 yes. The image from the integras is clearer at the edges but you have less field of view and have to use plastic lenses if you wear glasses which make the image worse. So which one you choose depends on what you prefer. Bigger field of view and better diopter adjustment at a higher price or a smaller field of view with plastic inserts at a cheaper price. At least in respect to picture quality. There are other factors too like integrated battery and gps on the integra which is important for flying the avata drone.
Hey sorry about that. I haven’t made one because my initial foam was a bit stupid and was falling off since I had to cut it up into several pieces but it was a proof a concept for me to see that it actually can be “fixed” to a certain extend with a better foam. I went on and bought a new foam that works for me in a similar way to my frankensteined version. I discovered him on youtube right about the time I uploaded my video. Thanks for letting me know I’ll put it up in the description for people who might be looking for a better foam. Here is the video of the guy who I think made it. ua-cam.com/video/0ZCr68j1JPk/v-deo.htmlsi=HYCPbO4m9wk6UiM2
@@kmieciu4ever in terms of price definitely 😂 Though they do get very tiring when flying for longer periods because your eyes have to focus at a close distance vs at infinity. 🫤
I don’t own a mini 3 pro. That’s a good question, I don’t see why it shouldn’t be possible though. If you can fly with a phone you should be able to fly with the goggles too.
@@MrCoffis thanks for the response. Your video was amazing btw. Just ordered DJI’s soft fit face plate (narrow face with pointy nose) and Hons custom lenses. Keep up the good work man
My main concern is the distance between the lenses because I have a large head and this is an issue with VR goggles. This would be my first set of drone goggles. Also, the part about glare on the lenses. I have struggled with this with frameless reading glasses and figured out that if I darken the edges with a black marker this does not happen. I wonder if this would work on the Integra? Could you tell me which goggles would support eyes being farther apart?
When it comes to design and hence the IPD is identical on both goggles. The glare is introduced mainly by the plastic diopter inserts. Its something that happens inside the lenses the way light is dispersed within the lens. The G2s unsharp corners on the other hand do become clearer by obstructing a part of the lens edges. That is because the unsharpness is introduced at the edges though bad optics (geometry of optics) but the lenses used are better since they are not plastic like for the integra. Again the plastic lenses are only necessary if you need correction and you can always custom order better ones. If you say you had a problem with VR goggles and their IPDs then you will probably have a problem with these too. I own VR goggles too and I think the IPD could have a bit more range. For me its right on the limit of acceptable. Given that, I think the integras are probably the safer bet out of the 2 but, if you can test drive both before purchase it would be the best thing for you to be able to make the right decision.
Awesome, thanks so much - out of curiosity did you have the V2’s? And if so do you feel the benefits of the new goggles out weigh the issues? Would love to see the modified foam pad and a follow up video! Thanks so much, really liked seeing the breakdown and thoughts behind your reasoning.
I was trying to get a hold of the V2s but I was always overbid on ebay on the last second. 😞 I wanted to compare all 3 after I got the G2s because of my dissatisfaction. If you have the V2s and are satisfied with them I would stick with the V2s. I don’t see any benefits in going for the G2s beyond the smaller footprint of the goggle. If you are already satisfied save yourself the money. 720p vs 1080p is not a deal breaker either. Unfortunately with goggles you have to try them on to be able to tell. It’s a personal preference thing also, so hard to say.
@@MrCoffis I've had all three. The goggles V2 definitely give you the largest field of view by far, at the expense of color reproduction and resolution. It's hard to see power lines in goggles V2 and the TFT monitors suck compared to OLED. In the end I chose to settle for the goggles Integra because I was so sick of the damn external battery and cables.
@@foam27 thanks for your input. I was wondering what I would have chosen if I could compare them to the V2s. With what you say it sounds like the G2s would be the ones I would go with. I personally need to have a replaceable battery with the usb c available for video out.
@@migstoledo3690 I think so yes but it depends how the carry case looks like. The footprint of the integra isnt that much bigger than the G2. You basically flip the battery and place it inside the goggles. See here as an example and you be the judge if it fits in the carry case you are looking into. ua-cam.com/video/-M5ZqKRQt40/v-deo.html
Thanks so much for such a detailed description of the 2 main problems of any googles since first ones appeared...the anatomic & phisical conditions of everyone can offer such a different sensation, but your point was clear and opens news questions towards designers when facing designing googles ...I'm stil debating among the FOV which one can be more suitable for a person with presbyopia like many of us after the 50's... I'm searching options for mask+lenses INTEGRA...maybe someone could help me? Thanks and congrats!!! (I've emailed o so much your exposition)... Well done!
Thank you! 😊 You can correct + diopters (Presbyopia) in both the G2 and integras. The FOV is a clear personal preference thing. Some prefer a more narrow fov other a bit wider. Personally I feel the G2 look more pleasing to me never the less I also believe the integras are the better value for money. The worst thing about this if you don’t try them you won’t be able to tell if they fit you. The margin they have built the G2 with is too small to please a wider geographic. I suppose a price you pay to make your goggles smaller.
Hard to say. Depends what you want it for. I think the penetration DJI provides is going to be unrivalled for a while. If you want low latency, and something that is a bit better than analog then HD zero might be the better choice. I haven’t looked into HD Zero so I can’t say for sure. But what you can do with HD Zero is connect it with the walksnail hdmi receiver and get almost everything in one set of goggles. From analog to digital and the 1S tiny whoop digital systems walksnail provides. (Though there are few crazy people out there who managed to put the dji O3 on a tiny whoop too…)
@@MrCoffis Thanks for the informative answer. Of course the all-in-one integration is very welcome, but I'm not willing to spend money on two different digital systems. I am quite happy with the penetration of my external analog reciever (uruav evo), as I only use to cruise arround the house and backyard going through some tight obstacles. I just wish for a better resolution and framerate than analog. Nowadays I am mainly flying 2 and 3.5inches due to the weight limits imposed by the comming regulations.
@@miquelmarti6537 the cheapest option of the bunch is then maybe the V2s if you can get a hold of them. Together with the O3 air unit and its GoPro like recording abilities is something no one else can offer. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a hold of the V2s which I really would have loved to have compared with the other goggles. HD Zero are not cheap goggles. But if you fly analog a lot then they are the best choice.
@@MrCoffis I may lean towards HDZero, as all of my quads are already analog and need to keep compatibility. Plus the enhanced analog deinterlacer from HDZero is very atractive, just in case I'm not sold on the digital system performance. OTOH the DJI image quality is unparalelled, but at the expense of a weighty vtx that won't fit most of my quads. Does Caddx still produce the Vista units? Are they much lighter?
@@miquelmarti6537 No vistas are discontinued afaik. There are mods you can do to fit one O3 air unit on to multiple aircraft, just like you would be using a naked GoPro. That would bring the cost down dramatically. (But not the weight)
Maybe, like me English is not your first language? 😅 Though I do wonder if some speed up their content to make it faster. 🤔 Either way, at least I know if I talk any faster my English falls apart 😂
Yes. For the integra it would be best if you can get custom prescription as the inserts they are shipped with are of bad quality, but they get the job done if you have + or - only. For astigmatism you need to make your own lens inserts. This applies to both goggles.
@@MrCoffis I just bought the avata with goggles 2. Currently shipping. Have the mini 3 pro also. My eye glasses are Oakley bottle rocket 4.0 slim profile. Curios to see if I can just rock my glasses in the goggles.
@@Utubeisazzho That’s definitely not possible, but you can adjust the diopters on the goggles themselves. As long as you don’t have any astigmatism you should be good.
But if you go closer on G2's, as this image states (ua-cam.com/video/uTGmhvnNbak/v-deo.html), then you reduce your FOV to 44 degrees what Integra already did, so you then basicaly reduced the FOV. The red line is the FOV right? Am I getting this right or not?
You are looking at the lenses from a different point of view. The usable field of view, in other words the fov that is without blurriness, is about 44 degrees. When you get closer you essentially are looking at the 51 degrees through the center region of the lens and disregard the outer blurry parts. (any angle covers a greater distance further away) This unfortunately also increases the fov of the blacks around the screen and when you get too close you get a halo in your peripheral view like in the integras. So the margin that you have to find that sweet spot is very small.
I got the integra and ordered the insert to make them fit better as per Jon on utube with same non fitting problem that I have, so the insert that came with integra I put in DJI V2 and insert I ordered I put in integra and that made them both fit pretty good’
@@MrCoffis I hope it works for you, my problem was blurry on outside edges with V2 but with integra which is smaller field of view it’s sharp and I can see enough to fly comfortably?
Ouch. In that case I would go for either the integra or new or even used v2s. Or just stick to analog 😜 I travelled and bought the G2s abroad because at the time it was out of stock everywhere and where I am at DJI is non existent. They stopped shipping to us.
Haha 😂 yes. Unfortunately if you are of European descent chances are you are going to have trouble wearing them. The integra are not better when it comes to the fit but you have a bigger sweet spot.
@@MrCoffis i am european descent and they the best fitting googles i had yet and ive had 5 different googles so far and they the only ones that have no light leaks
@@kerrymillar4981 Interesting. I guess if you are lucky they’ll fit. The face structure also plays a role. I had to cut out a portion of the forehead on my foam for it to sit more comfortably. It’s not the nose that is at fault. It just rests on a tiny spot on the nose if you don’t have the right face 😂
You are one of the few lucky ones without the blurring edges😜
(Or maybe because you are using 4:3?)
Thanks for letting me and us know😉
Happy flying!
This is most detailed video, enjoyed watching.
Highly recommended for everyone in DJI confusions.
Thanks very much appreciated. 😊 There are other points that make the integra a better choice for some that I didn’t delve into though like the integrated gps for those flying the avata.

April 11th we’ll be seeing the new dji goggles btw.
@@MrCoffis Oh great. I look forward to it.
Great analysis and explanation of the differences between the 2 goggles! Much appreciated.
you layed everything out so cleanly. you deserve more subs!
Also rumour has it new goggles might be around the corner but nobody knows how soon.
yes follow up video for sure i need to watch this one again to comprehend it all i have both goggles you know a lot man i subscribed
Thank! I’ll make sure to make a follow up video then! 😉
How do you find each goggle? Which one do you prefer?
@@MrCoffis g2 does look better but for daily flights the convenience of integra battery built in is favorable.

Thanks! 😊
Keep in mind though that if you are going to buy the avata (with the G2) you will apparently need to take out your phone to affirm your gps position so that you can unlock your drone. (I don’t own an avata so I don’t know details)
The integra has an integrated GPS that makes your life much easier in this regard, since you don’t need a phone to go flying.
@@MrCoffis Great. I will definitely see that option if I can try them first. Good point. Thanks a lot for that extra tip!
@@wilfredoyvanessa sure thing 😉
Im looking to buy a DJI Avata and the choices between goggles definitely had me confused. This was by far the most informative video on them and your graphics were great! You definitely got a sub from me and now Im looking at different foam versions to improve the G2
Thanks appreciate it. 😊
If you are going for avata then the picture in the goggles is one part of what you should think about.
@@MrCoffis Im in the US which definitely means having to plug my phone in. Thanks for more info! You rock

A bit like going back to analog after digital 😜
But rumour has it a new pair of goggles might be close, along with the O4 air unit. So it might be worth keeping that in mind too!
This is the best goggles comparison on UA-cam. If you get a chance to try the Goggles 3, post a video!
Think you hit the nail on the head on this. Kudos.
Thanks! Appreciate it! 😊
Cool thank you for that. I appreciate it all. Good luck to everything you’re doing. Thanks.
You are welcome. 😊
Btw there have been leaks for the new goggles 3 so it might be a good idea to wait out till they release and then make a purchase decision.
The G2 will most probably experience a price drop too if you don’t end up going with the G3.
Follow-up video with your foam fix, please 🙏
Yeah, I would like to see the foam insert you made, enjoyed your video
Mine wasn’t a good foam since I had to cut it into different pieces from another foam that wasn’t as good in getting you closer to the lenses. It was a proof of concept at that point in time.
I eventually got this one here.
Does a similar job only a bit better.
You’ll have to clean the goggles lenses a bit more often though.

Nice video. Speed is ok with me ;-) I'm very interested in the making of the follow up video especially making the foam.
I’ll make a video today about it. I am back at using the stock foam though, because my foam gets me too close to the lenses 😂 and that introduces other problems. The sweet spot exists…I think 😂 😭
What an introduction! A valedictorian introduction.
Haha 😂 had to look up the word. Thanks!
Great comparative video. Very useful and informative. Thanks for taking the time to do it. A follow up video would be welcomed.
Had the follow up video already started but life always gets in the way 😅 (or I always get in my way)
Dji did not mentioned this differences at their website 😊
thank you. A lot of new things for me.. will buy G2 tomorrow..
If you can try them on before hand from a friend, and even try the V2s it would probably give you a better idea of what will be a better choice for you.
Personally I feel the V2s and G2s are the only options that come into question for my preferences. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a hold of the V2s 🫤
On the bright side I love the small size of the G2s and are really lightweight.
Amazing video, at least I just saw a dude do the homework and not a random video. Great job!

@@MrCoffis "waiting..." That's so true. "sometimes we just slip and press “buy now”." Yep, that's what I did with the Mini 4 Pro purchase.😁

We people with cheap progressive lenses are used to narrow restricted vision where we turn out heads instead of our eyes, so this might not be as much a problem for us.
Great job on this review!

😂😂😂 guy is too funny killed me wen he put the what dog doing in it
Hey thank you for that video.
It’s mainly when flying in 16:9 at the very far edges that you will see some blurring (after coming closer to the lenses)
I also felt like looking at a TV screen with the integras btw. I am coming from analog box goggles where the screen is huge and going back to a smaller fov is hard. 😜
I SUBSCRIBED!
Oh thank you! 😊
Amazing i was rumbling between g2 and integra ,now i know i buy g2 for sure 🙂 amazing video

Glad you find it helpful! 😊
I’ve made more discoveries by using the goggles. I’ll try and talk about them in my next video. (Hopefully coming soon)
Thanks so much for these explanations. I am keeping my integra, using no lens inserts and getting the recent pyrodrone comfyfoam v2.

Well unfortunately that’s dji for ya it’s all locked up. Apple style. 🤷♂️
Thanks man. We'll done
Great video and comparison, thanks very much. I am curious if dji googles v3 or whatever are coming out anytime soon? )
The G2 was released November 2022 so if I’d guess I’d say in November 2024 if we’ll see an update. But that’s just me guessing.
Moral of the story, the increased FOV makes the G2’s better 👍
Yes together with the better correcting solution for those who have less than 20/20 vision like myself 😂
The whole review was great until you said you’ve never flown with either. Lol
Wow. Que buen video es una explicacion demaciado buena gracias hermano sigue asi 👍
As Mini 3 Pro compatibility means I am about to pull the trigger on the G2 or Integra I appreciate this video. G2 it is.

@@MrCoffis 😂😂
I franken foamed my G2 by cutting away the top foam completely. I get a perfect view, but the googles are painful to wear. Looks like I have to add a top strap to unload the weight on my nose. Thanks for the video. I'm staying with the G2. Maybe, someday DJI will release a V3 of their old style. But, for now the G2 is the best.
Thanks! I did the same to mine but reverted back to the OG because of the comfort. I came to the same conclusion about the goggles 😜 we are all waiting for a V3 😂
If you get a padded face plate, it will move your eyes away from the screens just enough to clear up the edges. For some people, at least.
You need to get closer to the lenses to clear out the edges…but too close you start getting a halo in your peripheral view and smudges from your eyelids on the lenses.
I have added a link in the description to the foam I use right now.
This video was perfect. I went with the G2!
No joke about the bank account 😂😂
Great review!
Would really like to see your follow up video.
@@amsob sounds good. If you happen to remember, let me know how the fit and which you would recommend. Thanks 😊
I also chose the goggles 2. I wear glaces, and integra's diopter lenses press against my eyebrows.
Yea imo the G2s are better suited for people who wear glasses. 🤓
I am eyeing the new G3s but until they don’t give us the update that lets them work with the O3 I will restrain from getting them.
Getting aftermarket lenses for Integra solves all the issues u speak of
Thanks for letting me and the rest of us know. I expected them to be solved by 3rd party lenses but you never really know until you try.
Did you get a chance to compare any differences regarding the transmission range of the goggles?
No unfortunately not. I didn’t have my drones at the time because I ordered them while being abroad, but I am guessing it shouldn’t be much different. The omni antennas are a bit larger on the integras and the internal patches should be the same. I haven’t heard anyone say anything about there being a difference in range and penetration by anyone so am guessing the difference should be a minor one.
Nice
So what about the g2 OLED and the integra LCD?
@@MrCoffis Thank you very much. I'm ok with the phone issue, as long as I can get a more immersive FPV experience.
@@peterspero4692 then if the money difference is not an issue either I think you‘ll prefer the G2.
Great review! Please tell me is there visual geometric distonsions of the screen of g2/integra or it is just photo camera effect?
My comparison was more focused on picture quality alone and I made my decision based on the fact that I only fly custom built drones. I don’t know how that choice would change if I had an avata though.
That said I think you would be happy with either goggles 😉 so it doesn’t really matter.

@@chrisdera oh nice then. I thought you went with the G2. The integra is the better goggle if you only fly the avata.
@@MrCoffis why only avata are the other ones not compatible?
@@chrisdera They are I meant it as in if you fly with the avata most of the time it makes more sense to fly with the integra as you don’t have to open up your phone every time. Each goggle has its own niche usecase. Integra more suitable for pleasure G2 more suitable for professional work. It’s really a negligible difference beyond those specific usecases.
Very helpful! I have the G2s and do where contacts…. But I can go without them because of the wide diopter adjustment.

@@MrCoffis did use them on the G2 or integras ?
The DJI Goggles v2 offer so much more than either of these models.
There are other factors too like integrated battery and gps on the integra which is important for flying the avata drone.
iflight has a good custom foam that should be much better for the G2
Yes. The modifications I have done to the foam I am using now looks very similar to how the iflight’s foam looks like.
You csn change the fov to 90% some people have said that cleared up the edges for them.
Yeah but it defeats the purpose of having a wider fov. If you can get it cleared up by getting closer to the lenses then that’s ideal.
Yo!! You promised video about improving g2, people still wait…

@@MrCoffis thanks for the response. Your video was amazing btw. Just ordered DJI’s soft fit face plate (narrow face with pointy nose) and Hons custom lenses. Keep up the good work man
@@pepethegoat999 Thanks man appreciate it. So I assume you went with the integra then if you got yourself custom lenses?

I was trying to get a hold of the V2s but I was always overbid on ebay on the last second. 😞
I wanted to compare all 3 after I got the G2s because of my dissatisfaction.
Well done!
Thank you! 😊
You can correct + diopters (Presbyopia) in both the G2 and integras.
Would you recommend hdzero googles instead of the integra?

Never flown fpv. I wear glasses no contacts. Can I play with these toys
@@MrCoffis Roger that, let’s see what happens 😂🤣
@@Utubeisazzhowell?
So the margin that you have to find that sweet spot is very small.
integra fit me better?
Interesting. What exactly did you prefer on the integra? The face mask?
I got the integra and ordered the insert to make them fit better as per Jon on utube with same non fitting problem that I have, so the insert that came with integra I put in DJI V2 and insert I ordered I put in integra and that made them both fit pretty good’
@@danielson101 Nice. I’ve ordered another foam myself for my G2. Got it yesterday. I haven’t tried it out yet, but it looks promising.
@@MrCoffis I hope it works for you, my problem was blurry on outside edges with V2 but with integra which is smaller field of view it’s sharp and I can see enough to fly comfortably?
@@MrCoffis I’m sure inserts will get better’
I love how the integras are 22% cheaper than the g2 but the g2 are 29% more expensive.
Even math is susceptible to perspective 😉
hehe, price in my country of goggles 2 is 1179,68$ XD
Ouch. In that case I would go for either the integra or new or even used v2s. Or just stick to analog 😜
I travelled and bought the G2s abroad because at the time it was out of stock everywhere and where I am at DJI is non existent. They stopped shipping to us.
i got all 3
You need a flat face like asians to fit the 02,s to get your eyes as close as you can, best option is to get a noise reduction at the doctors lol
I have a fat face so hopefully the extra fat will seal any light leaks. 😂
