I think they should have put the follow, chase, and auto modes into the Avata 2, because everything the Neo is doing, I would rather it would have the power, camera, speed, and size of the Avata 2. So basically the Avata 2 with the auto functions and the hand landing the Neo has going for it. Why have two drones when one could have done the job. I could actually see frame glitching/jumping in the side by side footage between the Avata 2 and Neo. The Avata 2 was so much smoother.
Yeh that would be cool. I reckon they could add that to the Avata 2 in firmware. The glitching was due to mismatched frame rates. The Neo can only do 30 FPS in 4K, and my video was done in 25 FPS so it’s kind of my fault. I would like DJI to add the 24 and 25 FPS options in the future firmware

This is more a DJI question than specific about the neo. Does the drone automatically come back when the battery gets almost empty? does it "know" how much battery its need to travel the distance back? Or does it just drop out the sky when the battery is empty?
It's absolutely not a must have. It's a fun gimmick toy with some great ideas, but if you are any level of film maker, the video this drone produces isn't worth using. @@unexplainedwearenotalone3537Yes, they're better, all of the newer GoPro's and specifically the Flywoo 2.0 (which is naked GoPro specifically manufactured to be used on small cinewhoops as the camera is better than what was in those FPV drones, it's also better than what's in the Avata and the DJI FPV which is why pro's put action cameras like the latest GoPro's or DJI's latest Action cameras on top of them). All of these action cameras are much much better than this particular camera in this particular DJI drone. It's not a good camera, it's worse than basically every new GoPro. Darn. I'm more interested in the "Cine-whoop" FPV experience and I guess all the needed components aren't significantly cheaper than the Avata 2 combo. No FAA registration is nice and it can likely fit in smaller spaces, but that noise is pretty bad.
I had been building 5" and tiny whoops for years, but never made the jump to digital HD FPV and was hoping for DJI to offer an off the shelf cheaper solution. I hear there's maybe a cheaper box-goggle and controller combo one day.
This is because of the mismatched frame rates. Video was done in 25 FPS but Neo only shoots in 30 FPS. I will upload raw files to a google drive for download today

You try tell GoPro is have better camera of that DJI serious don't tell jokes around the laugh 🤣😂 and GoPro never beat any camera or drone DJI view or how smooth stability have vs GoPro this real joke
With that said a naked DJI Action camera would be much much better than the camera in this DJI Neo drone as well as it's a very very very low end camera.
🤔 I wonder how it will perform in snow and below 0 condition.
I don’t get, it seems like it’s much faster while flying with FPV Goggles and the Controller compared to „normal“ mode. I have the neo and it’s quite slow with the normal controller.
Yes it will fly way faster with the goggles in manual mode
7:30 A man's happiness is just that simple 😂
Is it possible for this thing to be swept around by stronger winds? It's a tiny unit...
Yes it definitely could be taken out by the wind
Screw the drone i want to know where you live now... this looks marvelous
Haha, my home city of Cape Town. It’s beautiful! 🙌🏼
@@LukeMaximoBell1 would you mind telling me something about crime rates and some other stuff to pay attention to when traveling there? I know this is kinda off topic to the video and a bit of a request but it would help hearing it from a local.
Thanks a lot mate
Such a helpful video answering all the questions on it,
Did you provide the feedback about the adjustable sharpness within the app (without the need of the goggles) to DJI?
I haven’t told them yet, but I will 🙌🏼
@@LukeMaximoBell1 Thanks mate! :-)
If you change it on the goggles does the sharpness setting stay set when using the app then? @LukeMaximoBell1
Hi, I see you live in CPT and I'm looking to buy the NEO as well but it looks like its still unavailable this side.
How do I get my hands on kne?
You’ll have to wait till suppliers have stock. I got mine directly from DJI before launch.
I think avata 3 will be a bigger neo 😊 neo is great for social media upload
hello sir may I know what camera you use in filming 1:43 pls... thanks
Sony A7S III and 14mm GM lens
Can this drone be used in weddings?
very good point about vertical shoots ! I am looking into the Hover
Yeh I hope DJI adds it soon. And the sharpening adjustment please! Haha
I downloaded your video samples and when you fly in FPV mode, the video quality looks much better. Have others also noticed this?
It’s because you can lower the sharpness
@@LukeMaximoBell1DJI should allow that in all modes.
So, I can't change the camera settings on the drone? I can only change the sharpness, exposure, etc. in post-processing?
P.S. Thx for review
Yes for now. You can change sharpness with the goggles though
@@LukeMaximoBell1 Got it, thanks
@@LukeMaximoBell1once set does it stay set on drone afterwards though?
Can’t wait to get to Cape Town to fly the mini 4 pro such a beautiful city
which of the normal controllers already out does it work with?
RC-N3 is what it will work with. And DJI FPV controller 3
@@LukeMaximoBell1 not RC-N2? I see there’s no option to buy it separately for RC-N3
I’m pretty sure it’s only the RC-N3, because of the O4 transmission system. But I would check the DJI website or ask DJI support to be sure.
Darn. I'm more interested in the "Cine-whoop" FPV experience and I guess all the needed components aren't significantly cheaper than the Avata 2 combo. No FAA registration is nice and it can likely fit in smaller spaces, but that noise is pretty bad.
Yeh the problem is the price of the goggles 3 and controller 3!
That’s why you are better off going with Avata 2 combo
I had been building 5" and tiny whoops for years, but never made the jump to digital HD FPV and was hoping for DJI to offer an off the shelf cheaper solution. I hear there's maybe a cheaper box-goggle and controller combo one day.
@@Phrancis5 Yeh I think that would sell really well. Let's see what DJI comes out with. I haven't heard anything directly from them yet.
video neo so choppy :( the quality is ok what I seen before. But changes from case to case. I think I will need to wait for Neo 2
This is because of the mismatched frame rates. Video was done in 25 FPS but Neo only shoots in 30 FPS. I will upload raw files to a google drive for download today
Sample videos from Neo - download link in description
Where is the Shot taken? Looks nice
Home town of Cape Town South Africa
Why is the Neo footage stuttering? Did you combine different fps videos in one?
Yes you are correct! I kind of forgot about that 😂 my video is 25 but Neo only does 30. You can download the sample files in the video description link
@@LukeMaximoBell1 thanks, I'll download the footage then 😀
I would have most certainly complained if it had a vertical sensor in the drone lol I only want this so I don’t have to carry anything but the drone. Not as an fpv
Haha fair enough 😂 But it should at least have a vertical video mode
@@LukeMaximoBell1 agreed
How's the noise compared to avata 2?
Avata 2 is quieter and lower pitch 🙌🏼
Just such a pity, that they did not include a vertical mode for social media! Cropping is just terrible.
I have a Mavic 2 pro and an Avata 2, I am impressed with the safety and flight time of the Avata 2 which could be a perfect drone with the Camera and sensor of the Mavic 2 pro. I believe that the modifications are made to maintain the market, in each version there is a lack that is complemented in another.
Yeh totally agree 🙌🏼
The US doesn't even have a bundle with a remote. Our fly more combo just comes with extra batteries and charger. My ship date not even until 10/6
Aww man that’s annoying!
Is the neo better than the Dji mini 3
I think Mini 3 is better for general shooting. But Neo has some things better than Mini 3
How long does the battery last in FPV mode?
About 4-5 minutes flying all out. Not bad!
What's causing the jittery Neo footage? Is it the quality or SD card thats used? its just very visible
It’s the mismatched frame rates. I’ve got the sample videos for download in the deacription
Ok awesome. I have the Avata 1 but I’m thinking of grabbing this. I’m a Real estate photographer/videographer and thinking this might be a little easier to fly inside for a tour.
Send me the link to download the app for Android
Can we design the flying trajectory so this can simulate a camera man?
Not with current firmware at least
Is it worth it to get the Dji neo Combo or just Dji Neo
Good question. I would say the Neo on it’s own is better value for money 🙌🏼
If you want to order from DJI please use my link in description 🙌🏼
where is this location man?? love the Views
My home town, Cape Town, South Africa 🙌🏼
Does it actually include the remote? I don't see it said on the website
Controller For fly more combo only
Does it record with low bitrate video? I can see the quality drop..
It’s about 50 Mbps I believe
