A hair video was a nice surprise!! The only products I can use this summer are the cs shine leave in and hard hold gel. I used the new volume cream with the two above to create a really nice wash day. It is so hot and humid in the northeast, my hair needs the polyquats that the shine gel provides. The curl retainer gel looks like it was too heavy for your hair. Flexijelly looks great but aqua shape up gel results were beautiful!!

On that note, I'd love to see you one day become a trichologist and/or a hairdresser and since you have a chemistry degree your knowledge would be incredibly helpful. I hope you've found more inspiration for new haircare videos, and I would enjoy seeing a bond repair treatment showdown or brush styling and curling with a round brush like one would with a Denman brush. Yay, what an amazing surprise today! Not only is it a hair video, but it’s also Curlsmith and their gels! It’s like Christmas. Lol. I love Curlsmith! The soufflé gives me a harder hold than the in-shower fixer or the shine gel. Go figure 🤷♀️ Glad to see the break helped and you’re having fun with the hair content again. My go to every wash day is the Hydro Style Flex gel with the feather light protein cream. I have the purple gel and the humidity gel. The purple gel doesn't have enough hold for me. The green gel makes my hair look like straw. The humidity line is the only line by Curlsmith that I actually hate. Have been using their new mousse with the hydro style Flex gel and it's perfect in the high humidity.
Really happy to see this video. I, too, have an embarrassing amount of curly hair products. After much trial and error, I find myself becoming almost exclusively a Curlsmith girl. I first heard about Curlsmith on one of YOUR earlier videos. I so appreciate your research and explanations regarding the products in ALL of your videos. Thank you for all of your videos! I found you too late I think but I thank you for leaving all your helpful videos up for us trying to figure out our hair! I had straight hair all my life and a few years ago a few clumps here and there started waving and now today I have part wavy part curly and a little tiny bit still straight hair. It's thick and coarse. I am struggling to find a good stronghold gel. And I struggle with hair that too easily gets over moisturized. Anyway you are appreciated by me I would never have tried to start this CG method if I hadn't stumbled across you. I think actually wavy hair is pretty misunderstood and even my own ( former) hairstylist didn't understand . But now I have a new stylist ( she has wavy hair too & she understands) and I have your videos to help me go forward!
I only tried Aqua Gel once because it doesn’t seem economical having to use so much product. It’s so runny, you could almost use it as your leave-in/ cream. The Flexi Jelly has been my favorite gel for almost a year (and that’s big)! I thought immediately when I saw your results that it seems to be the best of both worlds for you too. I pair it with Evo Happy Campers. It’s a leave-in/ UVA UVB protectant/ dry time reducer, but it DOES contain silicones. It’s AMAZING! I would love to hear you breakdown the ingredients, since it’s not CGM friendly, but it doesn’t seem to build up at all.

I would love to see you do 123 gel with these. I haven't had much luck with that process. The third gel almost always seems to be too much and my hair just gets product build up. But I do well layering 2 gels. Also look up the Got 2 B glued gel in the black tube. It's got some of the strongest hold I have ever seen where I actually could not break the gel cast unless used sparingly. Like harder than Harry's. Granted, it won't fit into your one brand wash day series, but it may be fun to experiment.
I havent been styling my hair either here latley. 1) its too hot 🥵 and 2) im trying to just let my hair just be lol. Ive been wearing alot of french braids of late and my hair feels better for it, instead of constantly adding mousse or gel and scrunching scrunching scrunching and diffusing.
Hydro Style Flexi Jelly with Chi hard hold gel is my holy grail. I get almost a week from it. The Frizz Rescue Gel and the Shape Up Gel, I use for refreshing sometimes.
The frizz rescue, in my opinion, doesn’t hold as well as the others. I’ve tried frizz rescue with and without its sister shampoo and conditioner. I’m not really impressed with the line. To use up my frizz rescue gel, I mix it with hydrojelly gel and curl soufflé. This has given me a good hold while providing soft wavy curly hair. I just purchased the in-shower style fixer and will be trying it out. You made my day by providing this comparison video. Thank you. ❤

I've been loving the Aqua Gel. I use it with the Verb Foaming Gel. I do get a cast with both those products together. I get a solid 5 days out of my wash day where it still looks good with minimal refreshing. Interested in maybe trying out tje other 2 as well.

I just bought the Hydro Style Flexi Jelly and I need to have a word with Curlsmith about what kind of sorcery is in that bottle 😂 I used it with the Hydrate and Plump leave in as well, and got the best style results I’ve ever gotten!
The frizz rescue didn’t have enough hold for me, I ended up with a half bottle of it and a half bottle of the Hydro flex, so I combined them and made my own summer concoction! Working great so far.
Okay good, I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t get great results from the green gel. By the end of the day my waves are so limp and frizzy when I use that gel.
The green gel is best layered. I like that it blocks humidity. I apply it to wet hair in the shower, then damp style with the CS volume mousse using the Bounce Curl Defining Brush. Wonder if I will like the green as we move into the less humid months?
Curl talk just brought out gel and cream fragrance Free and protein free no alcohol it amazing I used ouida unbelievable Bonds shampoo and it's amazing wavy and curl look amazing

I'd love to see a 123 Gel washday ❤❤❤ If possible I'd love to see one where you switch the Frizz Control Gel out for the Shine Gel with stronghold - if you get the beautiful waves and curls from the Shape Up Aqua Gel, but the Strong Hold of the Shine Gel or if it weighs the waves down. I'd also love, if you could try the Ouidad and the Curl Keeper because I have heard someone else say, that the really liquid formulas work better on waves, and I think we all saw, that the Shape Up Aqua Gel with it's really liquidy formula was the best wave/curl enhancer. Or did I miss a video where you already tried one of the before mentioned?
Just remembered, Gena Marie (also on UA-cam) talked about liquid formulas, but my hair is more like yours than hers. More wavy with some curls thrown in between. So I'm usually buying the products that work well on your hair and I've been always happy with those. Thank you ! ❤
I need to give curlsmith another chance. I purchased the entire frizz rescue line and it was a disaster. My hair turned into a giant fuzz ball. I ended up returning it and was too hesitant to try anything else lol.
How many washes and stylings can you get from a set of curl smith products? They are a bit pricey for me so if they lasted several months I could probably justify the cost.
I would retest gels one and two. Use more of the first one, and not go to the gym. Try to have the same activity each day. Definitely more definition with gel 2 and 3, especially 3.
I've started using the blue one, I find it looks great on day one but my hair is soooo shiny the curls slip out. I think I need a stronger hold gel, do CS do one? (I currently use CS leave in, foam and the gel)

I find that I love the shape up gel but it isn’t a strong enough hold for me. So, I use it as a serum and put a hard hold gel over top.

I need to give curlsmith another chance. I purchased the entire frizz rescue line and it was a disaster. My hair turned into a giant fuzz ball. I ended up returning it and was too hesitant to try anything else lol.

How many washes and stylings can you get from a set of curl smith products? They are a bit pricey for me so if they lasted several months I could probably justify the cost.
I would retest gels one and two. Use more of the first one, and not go to the gym. Try to have the same activity each day. Definitely more definition with gel 2 and 3, especially 3.

I've started using the blue one, I find it looks great on day one but my hair is soooo shiny the curls slip out. I think I need a stronger hold gel, do CS do one? (I currently use CS leave in, foam and the gel)
Do any of these not contain sodium hydroxide? It acts like lye in my hair making it stringy looking.
