I have a 5 day vacation coming up and I have days 4 and 5 scheduled for my “bad hair day” baseball cap!
I would liked to have seen you suggest hair accessories and different ways to style on those really wonky hair days! Otherwise great suggestions! Thanks again, Courtney!
I grew up in a super humid climate. I now live in a place with little to no humidity, which is also where I realized that I have wavy hair.
I've made the mistake of bringing styling products with me when going back home but I have no idea how to style my hair without it turning into a poofy mess.
There's also no way I'm bringing a hair dryer with a diffuser or a hair straightener. I just wash and condition my hair, dry it with a blow dryer and put it in a ponytail. I'm not going to waste a lot of time on my hair if I'm on vacation.
As an alternative to travelling with a silk pillowcase, I often bring a large square (thin) silk scarf and tie it around my pillow at night. I then also have a scarf for my hair when it's windy, which I tend to forget.
Put your hair care products bottles in resealable plastic bags that you can close off from the rest of your stuff!! Those things are lifesavers!
I usually do this too. It’s also a great tip for wet swimsuits. I always want to stay in the pool as long as possible before going home.
I found a great collapsible diffuser I use when I travel. (I found it on Amazon.) It fits my travel size drier and I've had some success using it with hotel driers. I don't go to hotels often though. We mostly travel by car to visit family, so i have room for my drier or travel drier or just borrow a drier from my family.
Thank you for doing the softer sell with your sponsor. It didn't feel like a hard sell/in your face one like in some other channels. That said, that travel dryer and diffuser is waaaay too bulky for travel.
Courtney, as a frequent traveler I appreciate this video you did on travel. Since I don't always check a bag, my liquids are limited. I was wondering if you have ever tried any bar shampoos/conditioners? Or if you have recommendations to decrease plastic in our landfills when we use so many products. I appreciate all you do to support the community with finding products that make us look and feel our best!
Hi Courtney. Thanks for the video. I am with you on bringing your pillow when possible.
I bring it on all road trips. I have really good silicone bottles. I have never had a leak issue since I bought them. I now use the travel bottles year round with my shampoo and conditioner and some stylers. I had a hard time getting products out of their original container. Now I just refill and I don’t have to fight with them in the shower.
I find that I always have the checked bag as I need my diffuser as I hear you on hotel dryers. I also now bring my hair towel, satin pillowcase, bonnet, and satin robe (use it while I style.) my liquids don’t take all the room. It’s now all the wash day “equipment “. I would love to be just a carry on gal but I would rather enjoy my trip.
Have a great week.
I love curlsmith stylers! Air dry cream and hydro style flexi jelly are such a reliable combo!
But those with long hair beware of the travel dryer as the vent will suck your hair in. I had to sacrifice a few hairs by cutting them because I couldnt get them out of the vent. (Also hated the diffuser but the xtava diffuser with the snozzle works so well!)
Also braids and braidouts have been a life saver on trips for me! I have a protective style for the traveling part and then a cute style when I arrive!
This could not have come at a better time! I'm leaving Wednesday for an extended beach vacation and have been struggling to figure out how to pack to keep my hair reasonably healthy and happy. The reminder at the end was also very much needed ❤
I was needed the tips in the lest vacation in my cousins house.
Could you try the Dove hair repair and/or curly products? The hair repair line has tons of positive reviews, but not sure how many are wavy curly, if any. Thank you for considering!!
I just got some hair scrunchie I can get a little ponytail I want to get my wavy and curly hair back soon 😊
Hi,
Can you do an updated step by step Curly/wavy hair routine. Like including the hair raping and diffusing.
Also I am new to this and would like if you could do an updated review of the curly/wavy hair products that are at Walmart. I went and could not make heads or tails on what to get.
I thought I was the only one who hated filling those little travel size bottles. I want to buy travel sizes too. 😂
you should try the new A Veta be curly line
I noticed Shea Moisture has a bond repair line. I know you've already done a one brand washday with Shea Moisture but I would be curious to see your thoughts
Fill your travel bottles while you’re using your product in your hair Anything that spills over you can just scoop it up with your fingers and use it then.
I think they might be discontinuing the shine line. Ulta and Sephora are not carrying it right now. You can only get it on their site.
I heard this rumor too. I like the Shine Gel 9. Great hold, just pretty sure I need one with protein.
Does the Curlsmith towel dry quicker than the Perfect Haircare towel?
Sometimes when I heat style before I leave so I don’t have worry about styling a couple days
I feel like the problem with styling and Styling my hair while I travel me is one it takes longer and two a lot of times we’re going somewhere warm where my hair would never last like I would keep styled my hair and then immediately go outside and they were turn curly I bought some mini conditioners cause I’m planning on with summer doing camping with my dad in a cabin but still and I found this little mini hair mousse for styling my hair and planning with my shampoos to put them in those little travel size containers cause I don’t think they have the mini for those and if they do they’re overpriced
My hair loves Curlsmith. But regardless of my washday line-up, the Miracle Shield is in it!
Same! It was the first product in my transition I have tried that has become a must! Love that there is a travel size avail. I kinda wish I didn’t like it so much cuz I went thro it veryyy fast in first half and it’s def a more expensive heat protectant. Do u use it as a refresh too? I’ve tried it twice. First time was great, second time a little sticky.
@@JillianSiobhanMal I have never tried it on refreshing.
But my refreshes consist on a bit of steam in the shower and a couple drops of hair oil... 😇
@@MyLadyGodiva Thanks so much for ur reply! I’m about 5 months into my transition so idk if it’s that or just my hair type: I wish steam worked for me! I haven’t tried in awhile tho, thanks for the reminder. U kinda gotta circle back around the things a bit.
When I tie mine up in a scrunchie my hair goes straight at the sides. Any suggestions?
I bought an extra satin bonnet and silk pillowcase to live in my suitcase. The pillowcase gets folded up inside the bonnet and takes up almost no space.
The biggest reason that I despise the travel fillable bottles is that I forget which product is in there and I forget to put it back or use it🥴
Oh yes! Unless you label it, it's difficult to know! But that's more to do!
How much does that travel hair dryer weigh? Does it have dual voltage? Is it expensive?
It’s actually on sale right now on sephoras website! It isn’t very heavy. I’m not sure about the dual voltage though.
I don’t know what to do with my hair because the back of my head of like 2a or 2b hair but my 2 front pieces are pin strait and when I do my hair routine with curl cream gel and mousse my hair on the back of my head is good but my 2 front pieces are straight and I let my hair air dry because I don’t have a diffuser. Do you guys have any tips or things for me to do?
Twist those straight pieces when damp and use a hobby pin it up in kinda like a cinnamon bun then leave overnight and when you remove the bobby pin it will be a spiral curl. You are welcome.
if this were me i would pack my hair products for any type of weather and or dew points if i could
02:40 You back to your 2022 routine?
I mean not the product, i mean the way and the number of product you use and may be the diffusing technical.
I didn’t know this was considered my 2022 routine! 😅🙈 This is the routine I use when I would like to ensure the longest lasting results. The one brand washday series is where we use just three products to get really clear comparisons between brands. I have kept my diffusing routine very precise for a long time now.
I have a hardcore zip up plastic container for travel just in case something leaks.
I understand that this is an ad but it's a little too much of curl smith products to the point where it is shoving it down our throats. It isn't expected that a single person uses everything in one product line exclusively.
I'm sorry but your hair is definitely not curly. It's wavy, likely 2C. Your routine would benefit more from one suitable for wavy hair types.
I have one of those travel size bottles that has been in my bathroom cabinet for years, is it shampoo, is it conditioner, is it shower gel? Who knows??😂
