    A trick I learned from my grandmother eons ago ... take your parchment paper and ball it up to get it really wrinkled. Then flatten it out and put it in your pan. When you do that, it doesn't curl up and lays flat. Every time I do that I think of my grandmother :)

    I always buy my parchment paper for my half sheet pans from King Arthur's website. They are single sheets, (sorta like a package of school binder paper) I buy a 100 pack and they last me a really long time. I love them because they come in a plastic zip closure bag and I just slide one out at a time. There's no wrinkles and they lay flat on the pan. I have bought them for many years and do try to order whether they offer free shipping.

    Parchment paper: tear it off, then crinkle it up, then spread it out and it will (mostly) do what you want it to do.

    Such good food ideas! I’ve made the chicken dinner before and I think I need to make it again! I never put parsley on anything. I’m too lazy to chop it up.
    The first time I ate a kiwi (before internet and google…I’m 51) I ate the skin! I can’t believe I did that. Luckily, I found out you’re supposed to peel them! Tastes better peeled for sure, but oh well.
    I also prefer the 80 calorie yogurts. I have the zero sugar banana one right now and it tastes odd to me. I have used them in dessert recipes, but it’s not worth one less point.
    I’ll have to try salmon on my salad. Looks good. Not sure if I mentioned before, but I blend 2 tbsp of light Olive Garden Italian with 2 tbsp nonfat Greek yogurt for my dressing. Yum. I need more than 2 tbsp for my dressings.
    Great job on walking! I walk my dog twice a day.
    Sometimes I like a little snack before my coffee too. Today, it was just a banana. Sometimes it’s a one point muffin. I also try to drink one to two cups of water first.

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks so much! And yes, from what I've learned, kiwis were never made to peel - you're supposed to eat them like a peach. They say the skin has triple the amount of antioxidants in it as the fruit itself. That's what's weird - I can eat the skin on a peach no problem! LOL Sounds like we are very similar in our morning routine!! And you're right - the 50-calorie yogurts just have an odd taste. I will only eat them in smoothies. But I probably won't buy them again. Like you said, I'll take the extra point. 😉

      Thanks so much! My husband did it with me when we started back in 2019. He lost 70 pounds and has maintained his weight loss. He said it really helped him to learn portion control and have an idea of which foods are healthiest. Hes no longer on the program as hes able to wat intuitively now. WW is the same as any program though. You have to make it wotk for you. And all you can do is give it a try to see if you enjoy it or not.

    Looks so good!!! 😊 I’ve never made salmon before but love it at restaurants. About how long do you cook it in the pan? Do you remove the skin?
    Your videos help me so much - I started WW in Jan 2024 🤗

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  3 місяці тому +1

      Depending on the thickness, I do about 2 minutes on each side, without disturbing it. Sometimes I cook it with the skin on and then remove it after I cook it. This salmon I used today was already skinned. :) I just did a salmon recipe a couple weeks ago and in that, I show how I pan sear it. You can check it out here ua-cam.com/video/lDF5aug2ltE/v-deo.htmlsi=_ZFdX22ydKtaolnY if you'd like. Thanks so much!!

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  3 місяці тому +1

      There are some that are so close a lot of people do their own thing a day don't count them. It's the same with the Good Culture cottage cheese as well as the Great Value 1% lowfat. I know many who count both as 0. I don't think WW can make every single thing make sense because there's just too many things factored in to each food item. I used to be soooo precise on everything but now I just go with a range. 😊

    Maybe I missed it at some point, but is there a weight loss reason for the 2 part breakfast, before and after coffee, or is it for your other health diagnosis, or just what you prefer?

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  3 місяці тому +1

      No reason really. I just don't usually eat my breakfast until later in the morning, so I always like to get up and get some protein in first thing in the morning. Plus I've found that my body prefers a little something in my stomach before coffee. There are times where I'll wake up hungry and just have my regular big breakfast before coffee and then nothing again until lunch. But usually it's just something small first thing, then my coffee, and then more of a meal. 😊

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  3 місяці тому

      When you first pull up the WW app, there should be a search bar to search for food. In that search bar, to the right, you should see a little barcode scanner icon. Just click that and scan the barcode of your food. Then you just change the serving amount if you have a different amount than what's on the package. Hope that helps. :)

    • @PlanningUsHealthy
      @PlanningUsHealthy  2 місяці тому

      Hi there! From MyFitnessPal calculations, it's 6 grams for the egg, 15 grams for the egg whites, 5 grams for the tortillas, and 19 grams for the cottage cheese. But all brands differ, so always scan them yourself just in case. ;)
