    This is by far the BEST video with the AVATA 2 I've seen. I received mine (3 btry combo) Thursday but weather prevents me from trying it out. Rain. Next week will be fantastic 4/22. I've been a follower for years and thank you for all you do for us all.

    Unlike previous DJI drones, the MC3 & FPV Controller 3 do NOT directly link to the drone. They link to the Goggles 3 via Bluetooth, which passes through the RC commands to the Avata 2. This is why the MC3 & FPV Controller 3 are so much lighter than the previous versions, why their batteries last much longer, & why there is no external antenna on the FPV Controller 3. Consequentially when linking the FPV Controller 3 you want to link it to the Goggles 3, NOT the Avata 2.

      I'm enjoying the Avata 2 a lot so far. It's not a freestyle beast, but it wasn't made for that. I believe DJI did a great job with this whole set up. I can't wait for backwards compatibility with the goggles three. I wore my goggles to yesterday for the first time in a week or so. They are not nearly as comfortable as the goggles three. Sorry voice to text lol. One thing I'm having an issue with is when I put it in manual mode and try to take off the drone automatically takes off in normal mode then it switches to manual then I'm getting that crazy prompt where I have to use the sticks to get and stay on the green line to open manual mode. I didn't notice that on your video. If anyone knows how to get rid of that I would love some input. Lastly, is one of the buttons and arm and disarm button? I came in for a landing in manual mode and drop the throttle and landed on my pad and the drone flipped around like a fish out of water for a few seconds. Thanks in advance. Great video guys! Thank you

    I am looking at this as my first FPV drone a friend who is into drones for the freestyle flying keeps trying to convince me to get a proper drone instead of one of these. So I am a bit torn, personally one of these with a proper controller is the right move to learn but some of the moves you can pull off on the lipo powered drones are insane.

    • @readysetdrone
      @readysetdrone  5 місяців тому +1

      If your friend wants you to have a "basher" that you can learn on, then that's probably the best option, because he can help you fix things when you crash. Lol.
      The Avata 2 is definitely not a freestyle quad, so if that's your main goal, then you might want to go a different route, but the Avata 2 is a fantastic cinematic quad, that can also give you a taste of acro. And when you need to bail, just flip the switch into normal or sport mode and you're saved from crashing.
      It's a tough decision. You just need to decide what your end goal is. If you want ease of flying, great looking footage, and the chance to dip your toes into manual flying, then the Avata 2 is your drone.
      If you want to get good at freestyle flying, building and fixing yourself, and footage quality is a secondary concern, then a traditional quad is your choice.

    I love my new avata 2 even though I only have the motion controller 3 . I’d ordered the fpv 3 and they stuffed me around and found that they couldn’t get it and just canceled my order. Of course I wasn’t happy with them. I’ve since ordered one through another source that I’ve used before, but of course it’s on back order ugh. I still haven’t worked out how to go into easy acro, but then I just have to find a video on that. You’ve shown that they are a decent acro quad and I’m looking forward to receiving my fpv controller 3 so that I can practice true acro.

    • @SunriseWaterMedia
      @SunriseWaterMedia 8 місяців тому +1

      You might have to update everything (Goggles 3, Motion 3, and Avata 2) to get the Easy Acro option when you use the goggles joystick to swipe down from the top of the screen. Here's a Ready Set Drone video showing that near the beginning.

This would be to see if there is any difference in the performance of the aircraft alone while using either set of goggles and controllers.

    I got my A2 last week and the remote controller 3 yesterday.
    I do have some experience building / flying FPV drones and had high hopes for this A2 once paired with the RC3 controller in manual mode.
    It is a fun flyer with a great camera system, far better than anything in my custom builds that still have analog Vtx's, but, after getting some manual flights in I am a little disappointed by the speed and that it requires a bit over 1/2 throttle just to hover.
    I havnt turned the rates up completely yet, or looked to see if its possible to adjust the throttle exponential value but I wouldn't think that would change the stick % required to just hover.
    Also, some of my property has extreme grade slopes which I like to fly fast and close to the ground and I have trouble getting the A2 to drop anywhere nearly as quick as I am accustomed to and so have had several close calls while expecting the drone to drop clear of branches in fast flight.
    Im sure I can get used to it even if the issues cant be tuned out, I just pray DJI will get the Goggles 3 software caught up so I can buy the DJI air packs to upgrade my other fpv drones.
    Cheers.

    I’ve had the Avata 2 for a little over a week now and I love it. I bought the FPV controller v3 with it as well because I know I wanted to be able to fly in manual/acro mode, though I haven’t tried it yet. I’ve got about 30 hours on the simulator (mostly LiftOff), but I’m still a bit nervous to try full manual for real with the Avata 2. You experienced guys make it look too easy! 😂 I’ve flown collective pitch helis for about 10 years, so I probably shouldn’t be this intimidated by acro mode on an FPV drone. Hoping to get to a good, big open area soon so I can take the training wheels off and just go for it.

    • @readysetdrone
      @readysetdrone  8 місяців тому +2

      Flying in manual is a whole different experience - definitely worth learning. My biggest advice would be to fly in a big open and grassy field. If you get in trouble, just cut the throttle. The Avata 2 can take a bit of bashing, so you should be OK to crash it a few times - especially over grass. Good luck and have fun!

    • @DingleBerryschnapps
      @DingleBerryschnapps 6 місяців тому

      I don't know if you've done it already, but I wouldn't recommend flying manual. It's really not made for that. They included the easy acro just to sucker people into buying it that want to do freestyle. This is the last drone I would freestyle with, and I have experience doing it.
      I do own It by the way, but I also build my own quads. I bought the Avata 2 to just cruise around. That's pretty much what it's made for.
      The problem is when you crash it it's not really repairable, and you can only get a few replacements.

    I will come to your defense with the wind anything over about 8 miles an hour gusting 12 to 15 does have a dramatic effect on manual mode but I am a relatively new pilot. This is my first drone and I absolutely love it to pieces and I’ve probably got, a dozen batteries or less and my 10 year old son has probably flown half a dozen batteries or less but I’ve had one crash. It was dark and windy and I did put a crack in the propeller guard so I apparently stuck it pretty hard going backwards upside down it occurred to the wind , and then my experience did not help it recover and I tried to hit the break. can someone please help me out here. I bought the dji avta 2 fly more combo and also bought the dji fp2 remote because on the dji site it says they are compatible. i am able to connect the drone to the goggles but i am unable to connect the remote to the goggles and neither to the drone. i have updated everything on the latest firmware and have tried evrything but the remote just does not connect. What am i doing wrong?

    • @readysetdrone
      @readysetdrone  3 місяці тому

      The RC 2 connects directly to the drone, unlike the RC 3, so it sounds like you're doing all the right things. If you contact DJI support, they'll likely have you refresh the firmware again.

      The rc2 only works with goggles2 and integra, the rc3 only works with goggles3, is impossible to use them other ways

    Nice video! Just curious, if you're flying in manual during a flip and 180 degrees upside down, and clicking the start/stop button on the controller. What will happen? Will it auto correct itself to hover and N mode? Or it will just crash? Planning on using start/stop button as a panic button but doesn't know whether it works😂

    • @readysetdrone
      @readysetdrone  7 місяців тому

      It will crash! 😯 Just flip the mode switch to "normal" or "sport" if you panic.

    Do you fly the drone in "sport" mode like AVATA has?
