Long time no see:)
Still not yet finish my exam, but anyway i'm back XD
Today is my first prokofiev.
This piece makes the piano look like a percussion instrument.
Very noisy and intense. I luv it:)
Anyway i will make video continue!
Next is beethoven.

오랜만입니다:)
드디어 프로코피에프를 가져왔는데, 이곡은 옛날에 중학생때 연주하고 한동안 안치다가 오랜만에 꺼내서 쳐봤습니다 ㅎㅎ 다시 꺼내서 보니까 그때는 못봤던 내용들이나 해석이 새로이 보이기도 했습니다.
그리고 이곡은 정말 마치 피아노가 타악기처럼 보이게 만드는 매우 시끄럽고 강렬한 곡입니다. 이런곡도 나름 좋네요 ㅎㅎ 아무튼 아직 시험은 안끝났습니다만 ㅠㅠ
어짜피 곧 시험이 끝나니 조기복귀를 했습니다!

보통 다들 타악기적 요소와 강렬한 부분만 부각해서 연주하는 분들이 많은데, 곳곳에 섬세한 해석들이 매우 마음에 듭니다! 제겐 너무 어렵고 제 연주 스타일과는 거리가 먼 곡이라 연습해볼 엄두도 못냈었지만요... 좋은연주 늘 감사합니다^^

Honestly, I have to say this is your best performance up to date. Not from a technical point of view (is perfect, obviously, but your technique is always astonishing) but as a musical portrait of this piece. You gave me chills. Someone give a Steinway to this guy please!!! :)

@@vaxx2007 What do you mean? I usually try not to make comparison when listening to music performances... I have my preferences of course, but we aren't talking about a major Beethoven Sonata here. ;) It's a little piece by Prokofiev. Also, there aren't many performances around... among my CDs I have a live version by Richter, one from Gianluca Cascioli (when he was fifteen) and a few others I don't remember now.
@@loxpower so, the one who have heard the performance of Richter, as you mention here, you speak about an awesome technique of this pianist? that's completely confusing. ok, did you remember at least the last page with Richter? from the very first note of pp till the last note of the piece? so you mean Hwang does at least not worse?)
@@vaxx2007 i’m sorry what do you want from me? 😂 As a pianist myself who studied for more than 40 years, and in his prime played Godowsky, I think I’m entitled enough to express my opinion about technique. 😉 besides I didn’t make any comparison in the first place. You wanted them. I loved this performance. That’s it.
@@loxpower just wondering how a pianist with 40 years experience cannot distinguish a ladybug from an elephant. Hwang is a ladybug, guys like Richter, Rubinstein, Gavrilov, Vedernikov, Kissin (mentioning only those are popular here in UA-cam) are elephants. of course you have a full right to like this or that, no doubt, as you can say that your 6-years daughter interpretation of the piece is the greatest in the world, it's also an opinion, why not?
only a question remains, why would learn piano playing if later a person cannot understand what is a highly artistic performance, and what is an ordinary average performance?
Your interpretations are always amazing. I have been looking for good performances of this piece for a long time, and suddenly you upload this :D

I love the contrast you provide in your interpretation. It's not anything like the Chiu recording stylistically, but it is just as amazing. Your take on this is really clever.
곡이 들을수록 간지가 넘치네요 자칫하면 소음으로 들릴법한 부분들도 많은거 같은데 음악성이 매우 뛰어나신거 같아요

I dont usually comment on videos however this one caught my eye. Musically, it's amazing. You definitely nailed it. BUT! What I noticed most of all is the setup. Your camera positioning is perfect. Your score is amazingly placed. Overall, the presentation is the best I've ever seen, or rather, has been perfectly catered to my own preferences. Excellent video and I hope the exam went well.
그렇지. 그래야 프로코피예프지. 듣는 사람을 단 한순간도 심난하게 휘저어놓지않으면 프로코피예프가 아니지. 이건 처음들어봤는데 이거야말로 가장 프로코피예프다운 작품인듯.
I find Prokofiev to be very unique. Sometimes I don't like his music. But yes genius. Seonyong Hwang is a genius.

@@m.a.3322 he doesn't seem to realise this... Or care which I find strange... Hes wasting his life studying for exams and stuff when he can most likely outplay any piano judge on the planet. He's already technically mastered the piano, hes completely overcome every single technical hurdle.
@@markfowlermusic Studying is never a waste of time and I think you don't realise the difficulty to become a world class pianist...Talent is not the only requirement, their is many many very good young pianist out there and the competiton is very rude. Also I don't want to be a killjoy, I've watched all of is videos and he's very good I admit but go watch some world piano competiton videos and you will see that he's has not the level (in my opinion) for this yet.
@@mts_robin i do understand the difficulty, its very rare no matter how good you are that you'll succeed as a concert pianist because of the competition. You couldn't tell me anything i dont know believe me, i also know how good other players are, but you have to understand this guy is playing flawlessly, no mistakes, concert level polished performances and he's playing pieces that no one else can play to that level, his technique is hands down amongst the best in the world, I've seen many pianists at competitions etc.. He's playing etudes students wouldn't dare attempt. His technique is ungodly, like Marc Andre Hamelin standard and above.

역시 프로코피예프...기대를 저버리지 않는 것 같습니다;; 처음에 동일 작곡가분의 토카타를 먼저 접했는데 말이 나오지 않더군요. 이 곡도 마찬가지인 것 같습니다. 영상 설명창에서 마치 피아노가 타악기 같아진다는 표현이 격하게 공감가네요. 요즘 들어 다시 Henry Cowell 같은 현대 음악 부류에 관심이 높아지고 있는데 어쩌면 이게 시발점이 될지도 모르겠네요. 아무튼 잘 듣고 갑니다~!
다음은 베토벤...어떤 곡일지 기대가 됩니다 ㅎㅎ 그리고 남은 시험도 화이팅하시길 바랍니다. ^^bb
