This is the THIRD in a series of short demakes we're creating! Here we're taking you back in time with "Bioshock Infinite". Which if you look closely has elements from Clock Tower, and also a little bit of Indiana Jones on SNES! One of our favorite consoles of all time.

I absolutely love the intro to this game, the way they introduce Columbia felt amazing 8 years ago and feels amazing even today.

One of the best game intro for sure. Tho I personnaly prefere the Rapture intro from the original Bioshock.
The game looks so fluid it kinda looks like a real demo
It's based on Clock Tower.
Yeah the platformer parts really moved like these old games. Had me thinking it was actual gameplay with how it moved.

you must of played most of your games on emulators. the snes had a lot of fluid games on the actual hardware.

This one intro would take all of the 6MB cart. Dunno how authentic that is. Dont use SNES sound not even the color palettes. This is just pixel art with SNES in the title.
that shit is mad far from authentic, look at the resolution dawg, just look at a screenshot from a snes game and see that it got 1/4 the pixels yo cmon
If you showed this to a video game studio back in that era, I can 100% guarantee you that they would want to make a full game out of it. Well done! I love what you did with the panoramic sky moving through in the beginning.
nowadays its clear that creativity, stories and unique memorable ideas are much harder to come by than tech to make games. so i believe that "if" is stopped by the fact the creator of this would never have thought of bioshock and columbia concepts. its the whole reason why there are so many fan game creators instead of real game creators. still, yes this looks great and i could definitely play it for a bit. i have some game projects and i cant imagine spending any time on using existing and copyrighted materials. but still its cool to see these

Booker's "uh, hello" is pure gold in 16 bits. Just collapses into the ceiling like nobody's business and gets his charm going immediately.
@Miles Doyle im religious but this has nothing to do with my comment, if there is anything you should have learned reading the bible, its that preaching will not guarantee you a spot in heaven. Just like baptism does not mean you go to heaven no matter what, preaching does not either. In fact, the book states that preaching whilst being a sinner is a sin.

The Bioshock series would honestly work so well as an SNES era series of sidescrollers. They're all wonderfully creative and macabre in their own ways, set in fantastucal locations with all kinds of insane weapons, spells, characters, and so much more. I can totally picture something similar to Indiana Jones adventures and Super Star Wars, it fits *THAT* well.
On the flipside, could you imagine if the game were an FPS in the vein if Doom? With Mode 7 parkour sequences and boss fights? Cutscenes told in still images and certain important scenes (such as the Ana twist or the ending) shown as full blown cutscenes? One can only imagine...
I know it's not gonna happen but I REALLY would like a full version of this. It'd work as an Another World style adventure game.

but for real, this is pretty cool to watch =)
The short run back before continuing to get a feel for the controls, the mode 7 bird, this is great.

Man when you tap in those passwords at the beginning. Takes me back to the Hercules game for playstation 1 where you could do the same, only with Greek vases.
Now that you mention it.. it does look a lot like it. I believe you had to spin the vases around in Hercules for the password right?

Some people are saying that the video has some effects that SNES can't handle, but they are all possible. I can see the effort to only do what other SNES games already did. :)
The Mode 7 bird would need a simpler background tho, as this mode only allows 1 rotating/scalling layer + sprites. But you can have a gradient colored background and some simple objects, like clouds. Several games does that.
Some tips for more SNES authenticity:
- Mosaic transitions! That one used in Super Mario World and a loooot of other games. It's so characteristic of that plataform.
- Music samples with really short loops, maybe with some basic reverb. His reverb capabilities are a little different, messing with the effect you can reach something similar.
I think the character animations could be way better on a 16 bit machine. But other fx are maybe a little bit too good

I feel like these demakes are done by young millennials and old zoomers who don't really have much experience with the older consoles they're trying to mimic. These RARELY look right.

Looks more like a GBA game
Could be PSX too. Some parts look kind of similar to SotN, for example
