Incredible! To say you did it justice would be a huge understatement. Spot on!
I see what you did there
Would you say he mastered it ?
@@Numbinc I didn't see what I did there until I saw what you did there. Touché!
This really brought some memories back when I was 15-16 learning AJFA songs and trying to get close to the sound. I startet playing along with your riffs and I am writing this with a pick in my mouth and my trusty Ibanez on my lap. Thanks for this man. Love your channel
Thank you for this long awaited tone 💙
You’re the man!!! Thanks so much! I’d be so stoked to be able to play like you.
Your patches for the Katana MKII are awesome¡¡ Thank you for taking the time to make these really good tones and for sharing them with all of us. Amazing¡
Absolutely unreal mate. Love your work and the playing is top notch. Can’t wait for the next video.
I love your videos, you have an incredible talent for recreating guitar tones. And this tone is one of your best.
I was waiting on this one. Best MK2 tone yet. Sounds killer. Thanks for the Pushed version too, exactly what needed. I compared what you changed to the mix version, real informative.
Absolutely amazing!!! Best set of ears on UA-cam my man! Keep it up! Love it all man thank you
Amazing, especially the kirk solo is outstanding, one of your best videos , bravo
Instant Like - LambChopper and Justice for All = me in my happy place! Damn man, your pumping out the content 🤘 "And justice for All" is my fav Metallica album and holds a dear place in my heart of my youth ☺
I just found your channel 30 min ago and then you release this! Justice tone was the hardest tone I'd heard when I was 13 when it came out. Such a hard tone to get but you nailed it. Gonna get the Katana out this week. Thanks bud.
Absolutely f'n amazing mate!
That To Live is to Die outro put a lump in my throat.
Been struggling with this tone as many others have, thanks man now we have a solution!🤘
Just downloaded all of your tones from the tone studio. I am a beginner with the Katana artist. I want to thank you for posting your tones. this is HUGE!! Exactly what ive been searching for.
That is insane. Please keep producing amazing content.
BOSS should be paying you to do this, man! Kudos for the great content - all of these Katana videos have been absolutely fantastic!
This is awesome. I just got a brand new Katana amp and what a coincidence seeing this video in my feed. AJFA is the quintessential Metallica album for me. It's what my earliest memories are as a kid hearing Metallica from my mom and dad for the first time. And I love it just as much now as I did then. I'm definitely going to play around with this with my new amp. Great video! Thanks for sharing with us.
Your videos have helped me immensely. After watching a few of them, I learned what to tweak on my modeller to try and chase some of these tones.
My GAS has gone into remission. I'm learning that there's not a lot my cheap little pedal can't do.
I'm liking that new room you got and that tone it's amazing
One of my fav🎸albums
You nailed it Lamb Chop
Your videos have been absolute gems! Perhaps the next boss katana video could be on where it all started: Kill 'Em All.
Glad to see and hear you and your guitar!
Sounds killer. Really great. Great playing too. Love your channel. 🤘🏻
MASTERPIECE.
Shit you’re amazing dude. You have such a gift for tones. 🙌🏼
Thank you for your work. Another gem.
Clean tones are spot on, sounds incredible.
Nailed it! So good at the end!
Outstanding work as always - wish I had your understanding of tone shaping!🤘🤘🤘
Hey, cheers from Michigan. Great video. Tones were great. 🤘
Killing it!! Really nailed it!
amazing sound....the sound of the guitars in Justice is EPIC and the BEST so far for me...really the big influence for me. Great job @lambchopper678 !
You're amazing man, I'm just a beginner an I'm still trying to learn my shapes an my picking technique, an these tones help so much with trying to do some beginner stuff to Metallica, one of my favorite bands alone side megadeath an pantera, keep up the amazing work man
I just bought a boss katana go and wow man I downloaded these. They sound identical !!! Thank you !
That’s awesome but how’d you get them on it?
Glad you're back man ! Wicked!
Amazing tone! I really liked the solo preset
This tone is BRUTAL. Great job!
Wow Awesome video I have boss katana 50mk2 I didn't really think you could get a tight metal tone but you pulled it off 🤘. I get some really great creamy lead tones but still working on tight heavy rhythm tone. I'm gonna give it a try. Thanks 🤘🤘🎸
Man love your stuff. Like your Mark V 25 stuff a lot. Thinking of buying one of the EQ From Hell pedals for my Mark V 35. Keep jamming love it!
That clean riff from justice sounds perfect!!
Dude, you're an absolute legend! Would love to see you do full covers of the AJFA album. Cheers!
Insane. You're amazing, mate
So good. Eagerly awaiting the holy grail black album tone on Katana!
The Black Album tone is underrated everyone talks about MOP and chases James’ rhythm tone on that one , but the black album rhythm tone and the riffs is what made me want to start playing guitar. The first time I heard Wherever I May Roam I knew I had to get a guitar.
@@brandonjackson5865 Agreed. And one of my favorite tones ever is the "Sad But True" tone... It's so brutal and heavy without being harsh. I've spent years trying to get that tone with all kinds of amps and guitar combinations only to get sorta close, but it's missing just a little something every time. I'm hoping Lambchopper does a deep dive on the black album tone and spends some extra time talking about and showing how the Katana can get the Sad But True tone.
@@Jakers80 James used a longhorn bass in the studio to get the crushing rhythm guitar sound on sad but true and even Metallica have never sounded right played it live, and that’s Sad But True . I love the album version of that song but it’s just about the only song I prefer the album version to any live version. It crushes on the album. I think it would be cool if James or Kirk either actually played a long horn live for Sad But True but yeah that’s a nice big chunky guitar sound on that one.
@Brandon Jackson 100% agree. That song is 1 of the only ones I prefer the album version. I do recall seeing A Year in the Life and seeing James using that bass with a ton of distortion behind it. I've heard a couple covers of SBT on some YT videos and the tone gets close.. but, not quite. I'm intrigued to hear Lambchopper's attempt at it though. Especially using a Katana since I have one currently and could incorporate it into my own rig.
Killer playing and great tones!
Perfect tone, perfect player and perfect birds
Please keep focusing on this amp. So many people use them for practice amps and you dial in amazing tones. Hope for more
Awesome job mate. My first ever Metallica album, and to date still my favourite. Just wish I could play some of that stuff half as good as you.
I love this tone you created on the katana. The gain isn't as "creamy" as it is on the mesa boogie tone you made last year, but I find this one a bit tighter and better in the mix. Amazing content as always lamb keep it up.
For "creamy-er" gain on the Katana, use the LEAD channel instead of the BROWN channel.
Bad ass man!! As always!!!
Man, you're amazing!🤘
I recently got a Boss ME-70 for a steal, and I have to say, Boss seems to have been the kings of tone recreation for a while now. Im in love with the thing.
sounds great on the video man. good job
Just using the speaker in the Katana head, on the 3 band EQ I find that if I take out the bass and middle, and up the treble, it gets the little speaker to open up and get some punch to it and becomes less muddy. Once I get proper speakers in a cab, I'd love to crank these presets.
Thanks so much for making these. They sound amazing, awesome work!
Love how you always play different riffs when you cover the same album!
Great answer for the down picking speed! Don't tense up, keep pick hand and arm not too firm or loose. Work on bpm start slower build to desired speed. Practice! Practice! Practice! I love Metallica my favorite band ever... I also see lots of posts here of Metallica fans, this is awesome. This channel is lit!
Sounds amazing!!
Just had to comment to show appreciation, this is fantastic stuff. Great sounds man, great job on the playing side too, super exciting for me to listen to this material like this.
I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a katana, maybe holding off til the sales after Christmas! When I see this I feel like everything is gonna be ok 😆
...also appreciate your down to earth presentation style, I don't need to feel like I'm watching a kids tv show while listening to guitar tones 🙈 Keep doing precisely what you are doing sir and thanks for so much great content 👍
Edit - and chewing through a low E string during the vid, Hetfield would surely salute you 😆
After playing along with "creeping death live at Moscow 91" daily to get the blood flowing, I noticed playing downpicking parts on studio versions of things was significantly easier. It's incredibly fun to play along with them live. Also there's no time to dewell on a mistake or start over after absolutely any mishap. I was bad for that when first starting but I feel playing with random old live "seek and destroy" or "Orion" concert moments that go on for 20 mins haha.
Plus I thought you hung up the video making axe? Glad you're back!
Yeah I found that playing along with my band and learning to play through the mistakes on parts that I just couldn’t get really accelerated my playing after a few practices I was making less and less mistakes just by playing though them it made them not seem so impossible and soon the parts I had trouble with and anticipated with anxiety came and went without any trouble. I can’t just sit and play along to an album though, I learn the main riffs of a song and then I’m on to something else. I just don’t have the focus to learn many songs start to finish, could probably easily play a 2 or three minute version of some of the Justice songs but I don’t have the endurance at this point for a 9 minute down picking clinic. I think know Harvester of Sorrow start to finish. But yeah playing along with or to something that’s just above your comfort and skill level will produce the quickest gains in my experience than sitting playing the same riff all day to a metronome
Great tones and playing
Nailed it, tone and solos
Holy shit man. I haven't seen anyone get anywhere close to those tones without fancy IRs and stuff. Congratulations! Like other commenters, I'd love to see you do other albums, namely MoP and Black.
Awesome stuff mate 👏🤘
Nailed it!like you Ive always tried to get this tone and just never coupd get very close
Parrots made my day more than discovering the presets!
Great job on all tones - and Kirk's solos!!
Just hit the wah wah , Done .
Great playing 🤘
You are like me in about 20 years or so, except Australian and with a much better jaw 😂 The V guitars, the Katana and Mesa amp, and the old-school Powell boards. Love your content fella, keep up the good work!
Outstanding!...face officially melted.
I wanna start be saying that I really enjoyed this video. Much better with subtitles. I have to say that found the last couple of video's to be much better and a lot easier to understand how you have found the right tunes to suit what you playing. And I have to say that this sounds better than album.
Amazing...so close to perfection ...wow
Awesome work as always.
The more I see of these the more I'm hoping you can wrangle an Exodus tone out of the Katana.
nailed it. Sounds super gnarly through a marshall 4x12
Holy shit, that's DEAD-ON! Nice job!
You’re the man 🤘
Thanks for covering the bass tone too
i see lambchopper, i like, i comment.
i love lambchopper
10:56 👍💪 Kirk just manipulated your very fingers. Well done man!
Man, what a player and sound builder you are...fuckin' great
Really amazing info for people like me who have just gotten into learning how to setup guitar tones, thanks! I'm gonna try and recreate this in Archetype Gojira, would be cool if there was any screenshot of the settings for those of us who dont have Boss Tone!
Hay Lammy... HNY and good work! Dig the chicken haircut harmony near the end there...
Nice. I'm thinking about buying one of these.
Thats just ridiculous. I know you've shown us but just how in the name of faaak did you perform this utter witchcraft. Thank you so so much for all your work. Genius
Knocked another one outta the park! Well done, I'll have to use these on mine. I'm still addicted my Dsl20hr.
Maybe do Black Sabbath tones next week 🤘🏻🔥
The get the tone of Supernaut would be a dream come true.
Would love to hear some Paranoid tones but also Heaven and He’ll and Mob Rules and Dehumanizee. Some of Iommi’s best tones were in the Dio era.
Black Sabbath tones are easier to get than Metallica on the katana. Even without using tone studio you get pretty close.
The more gain, the harder it is to get good tones
Black Sabbath doesn't get a lot of gain
For those of you complaining about the tones not sounding exact, in addition to the Torpedo Captor X, you also need similair (active) pickups. It's obvious not going to sound the same using your Harley Benton strat lookalike guitar plugged straight into the amp.
I think actives are pretty critical in achieving the Justice Tone there’s a lot of compression in there you could probably get close with passives and boost but when I think of EMGs And Justice for All comes to mind. These legendary tones are never as amazing as we think if we listen to the individual stems separately. The Master of Puppets rhythm stems are fizzy on the top end and a little muddy on the bottom, when you ad the bass that’s what makes that tone work and it cleans the guitar up . All my life I thought the Puppets tone was incredible and then I heard the stems, the tone is incredible in the mix but alone it’s nothing special really.
LC! YOU DA MAN!
Best channel on UA-cam!
Sounds great man, your technique is amazing when dialing tones its increadible. Could we be expecting a black album tone video soon??
Yeah I’d love to hear some Black Album tones!
this is THE guitar tone imo....im trying to get exact this tone down 🤘
What a treat the ending is.
Depending on where the EQ goes in software, you can do emphasis or de-emphasis EQ. Boost a frequency before the amp then cut it after and you get those frequencies saturated without having them poke out in the tone. Or cut before and boost after and those frequencies stay cleaner/clearer without getting lost. The former could be used if you want to distort the upper mids well before the low end to leave the low end cleaner. The latter could be used if you want to keep note definition in the mids without scooping the tone
Amazing! Congrats man!
Pretty parrots :)
My parrot (Amazona aestiva) also got a mate 15 days ago (Aratinga jandaya) :))
Great tone, you could capture peace sells tone next week
Have you thought about trying to figure out some Dimebag tones with this amp? Love the videos man, you're the best guitar youtuber out here.
Awesome!
you might enjoy the sneaky amps! They have a really good boogie mark 2 emulation labeled Boogie Lead that is pretty spot on, the eq knobs are set before the gain stage so it reacts the same as a mark 2 tone stack.
4:39 You know you play a lot of thrash metal when you break the sixth string.
I agree with those being Kirk's best solos, you nailed the playing too. You always do! 🤘
That part about recording is so true. I struggled to get a pedal to sound like it did coming out of the amp until I figured out how to capture it. Also once recorded all the guitar parts to orion just to hear it a week later and think it sounds nothing like the tone lol
You f-ing rock..😲😍 Love the content and video's..🤔😉👍💕🔥💀🤘
The video is incredible. Please make a video capturing the Dream Theater tone with Mark V. Greetings from Brazil.
