Even though it isn't my favorite album from Metallica, it might have my favorite guitar tone of all time. It's just so damn heavy and has so much bite to it. It's so sharp and thick and I can't help but bang my head to pretty much every song on the album no matter how much I hear them, especially that breakdown in the middle of The Struggle Within. Good stuff as always!

Sounds great on my MKii 50 watt. Messing around with the Global EQ does a lot of the heavy lifting to make the built in speaker sound like a real cab. I’d like to hear a phone mic version of yours in the room to compare
@@vector5188 I usually just slightly dip the high 8k and 16k on the graphic eq bc most people find the high end on the stock speakers kinda fizzy sounding. I also boost some lows around 125hz just to make it a bit warmer sometimes. But this tone is already pretty thick in the bottom... It's really trial and error, I have yet to set it yet to where I'm totally satisfied tbh
Like I said I've never heard what Lambs katana sounds like in a room I've only heard the micced cabs so it's hard to tell what mine sounds like in comparison. I'm sure people have compared the speakers on UA-cam though
Does the Katana software have to be updated to the latest version for Lamb's patches? On my MK2 50w Katana the patches don't sound right at all - just mild crunch tones or no sound. I've been dragging my feet on updating Tone Studio....
@@Metal_Jim_in_TX check the booster section, I think the one he’s using was added in an update yeah. It should be “metal core” - if that doesn’t exist then you probably need to update

Not a fan of the 3 latest songs either, not sure i want to pre-order it. As a non guitarist, this tone just is awesome, so many happy memories.
I wonder if you could get a little closer by adding slight chorus to it? if you set the rate and the depth of chorus really low it has the same effect of doubled guitars

Would you recommend the Katana2 then as a main amp? Mainly years ago I used to run a Victory Kraken with an EVH5150 2x12 cab, but sold it all when I was downsizing my collection.
For some reason I get this a bit, I’m not sure why the playlist comes through fine for many but sounds rubbish on others. I’m sorry mate, if it’s fully up to date with the latest drivers I have no other suggestions. It’s frustrating for too as I want you to get the same tone
