I never gave chicken Foot a chance. I just thought oh ok another super group. Man was I mistaken, this is not just another super group. This is The Super Group
Rockers On Walkers! Geriatrics On Theatrics!!! Ol'Men the Showmen! Grammy Sammy and Grandad Chad! Slo Mojo Joe and Electric Tricycle Michael on the Geezer Geetar and Bass Case.... Get on your Bad Old Man Scooter and RIDE THAT BEEST!
As a drummer i know how hard Chad is working there,, while Joe and Sammy extend the song time and time again with there fingers,, Chad is going 100 mph constantly . It takes incredible drum fitness to play like that and keep it up,,. Whoop then after that strait into the next song OMG .
I don't think many realize just how great a jam this is...and Sammy is damn good guitarist in his own right !! this is what halen should have morphed into !!!!
Ronnie Montrose wouldn't let Sammy play Guitar. Well Sammy's had a lot of practice since Montrose. Bad Motor Scooter is one of the best Rock Songs ever
In 1974 on the BBC I actually saw Sammy and Montrose play Bad Motor Scooter on a TV program called "The Old Grey Whistle Test". Decades later after Sammy joined Van Halen I was surprised to discover it was the same vocalist from Montrose.
Young people wake up..this is Rock and roll..!! Chad Smith worked his ass off..damn..!! Sammy has been around (montrose) for years before Van Halen...very cool stuff..!!!!!
I have an old radio station promotion vinyl of it.. stamped promotional material not for sale, that I absolutely cherish. I was given a stack of stuff as a kid. There was also a copy of Queen News of the World and LZ Houses of the Holy in the stack. 😬👊🏻👊🏻 Anyway… It’s how I discovered “Sam Hagar” and Montrose. Been a huge fan since. I bought everything Ronnie ever recorded after that too.
In 1980 I saw Sammy warm up for Boston at Indiana State. He sat down at the front of the stage with the lap steel and shredded this! Warmed up indeed! An inferno is more like it.
These guys looks they were having so much fun......always wish I had gotten into a band, and this is the reason why right here ! Maybe when I retire........
Good musicians having a party on stage = real rock n roll. Ronnie showed up to a gig of mine not long before he passed. He was a hell of a guy and we were friends from that night on. RIP.
I got to see Chickenfoot Live now. Thanks for the upload. Joe Satriani, Micheal Anthony, Sammy Hagar and Chad Smith all in one band. Now that's what I call a concert
Sammy, do you remember when we made a cardboard replica of your lapsteel and i threw to you from the monitor desk when you threw yours to your git tech? It landed at your feet, it was the last gig of your uk tour... Bristol or Bath, '82 or '83 I think. Such great fun, great tour and thanks for the wonderful memories.👍😂🇬🇧
Good ole Joe. Even wearing his dressing gown, he'll let Sammy play as much as he wants to, but then reminds the world that he's still the best guitarist on the stage. And I kind of get the feeling that Chad really loves playing with this band than he does RHCP.
Technically that's a monk's cowl. But yeah -- Joe absolutely *shreds* this classic Montrose tune, and the rest of the band is tighter than steel cable.
@@robertmclean9737 buckethead eats babies.. I gotta problem with that. Joe Satriani is the Gift that God has blessed us with. Eddie died, but he looks like the cover of 1984 now. Angel.
I was very amazed by this video, really next best thing to Van Halen. I have truly become a fan of Chickenfoot. Very happy for Mike, this guy is one of the nicest Rocker anyone could meet very well grounded. Mickey you will forever be the missing ingredient in Van Halen.
Montrose was being called America’s answer to Led Zeppelin in 1974. Sammy was a part of that sound and was just a badass singer from day one. Not knocking Dave because he is legendary as a front man. The two were never the same though. Diamond Dave brought the flash and matured as a singer too until he couldn’t anymore. Lol but he had a lot more maturing to do in every way from the start than Sam. Sammy was the singer and always more a part of the band. Dave was never going to sing in Sam’s register, and honestly, until he upped the showmanship game held VH back. VH was all about Eddy. Ronnie Montrose was a badass guitar player but like this, his band was always more about the band than any individual members.
First heard this song on FM 98.5 KOME, San Jose, CA back in the original black & yellow 'KOME spot on your dial' days. Vinyl/8-Track/Cassette/CD/DVD.....I'll be wearing the media of the future out long before I ever grow tired of this kick butt song. Bad Motor Scooter ROCKS!
Good one! I’m watching this about 1 year-🤷🏻♂️-after your comment, and, I say "THANK YOU!", (to you). The fact that nobody mentioned Will Farrell until YOU did…should win you free tickets to the next ChickenFoot/RHCP gig. Well done, Mr. Ramey & Mr. Ray, Mr. Farrell, and most of all, "uh, thank you so very much to young Chadwick Smith. How ‘bout a big round of applause 👏🏼 for…THE DRUMMER!"
Saw them n Laughlin. Unfortunately the show was cut short due to extreme wind BUT, these guys not only kick ass, they love to play together and it shows.....
Sammy is by far one of the most under rated guitarist and front men in all rock n roll. Last time i saw him was 1984 i think was the year, red rocker was the tour. He opened fir ZZTop and he absilutley blew those guys off the stage. Now 40 years later i wait in great anticipation to see him again in july 2024. I frickin can not wait. See yall in charlotte PNC pavilion north carolina !
It sounds so simple but this is what playing a a couple thousand shows each does. Makes you good. It's such a pity new bands don't have the ability to just go and play a circuit of clubs, bars and venues and gain that awesome-sauce seasoning that gives you the ability to smoke it live before they ever release an album. What's even sadder is that it will likely never get back there either.
You're small dick energy is strong. If you want to listen to the "right" drumming, go listen to the original. If you want to hear four supremely talented musicians have fun, then listen to this. No one is forcing you to do anything. So jog off and clutch your pearls somewhere else.
When I die and they ask if there is anything I would like to know once and for all; the perfect platonic ideal of the electric guitar, curtain drops, Satriani, voila ici !!!
I just KNEW that Joe could play it better, but THAT`S EVOLUTION. Montrose , by Montrose, what an outstanding album (pity `bout the follow up!). Nice one guys, brings back memories of when ROCK ruled and pathetic Wannabees, bean counters, Electro garbage and (C)rap were in my future - thankyou to the internet, how many OTHER Gems are lost in time? (A Geologist`s take on Rock Music!) If you didn`t get the pun, re-read my comment, and GET ROCKED (or, replace `R` with `F`). Yeah, I had Montrose in SEVERAL formats `back in the day`.
Now there's your effin Super Bowl halftime show!!! Outstanding!!!!!!
HELL YEAH!!
I never gave chicken Foot a chance. I just thought oh ok another super group. Man was I mistaken, this is not just another super group. This is The Super Group
@Stuart Ewoldt: Well said!👏🏼I’d have said that-but YOU already have, thanks. That’s only left me with one thing to say…
Lmao bud😂
Half of the greatest groups in history are super groups
Loved me some chickenfoot, but Sammy and the Circle are better.
Chicken foot is great. If you follow someone then you will listen to their music and I think it's fantastic
This is what Rock n Roll is all about, in my opinion. Still knocking it out the ballpark in their senior years, what amazing musicians. 👌
Rockers On Walkers!
Geriatrics On Theatrics!!!
Ol'Men the Showmen!
Grammy Sammy and Grandad Chad!
Slo Mojo
Joe and Electric Tricycle Michael on the Geezer Geetar and
Bass Case....
Get on your Bad Old Man Scooter and RIDE THAT BEEST!
SAMMY now 74J UST AS HoT LIVE !
This CRAP is for people who say "knocking it out of the ballpark" while referring to anything besides baseball.
I really love Sammy and all the bands he has been with, yet I must take a bit of offense to being called old.
The offspring of "The World's Greatest Generation" were given Guitars, Mics and Drums instead of M1s....talkin't bout my Generation.
Fuck yeah! I’m 62 and love these mega talented dudes my age rocking out old school!!! This is ROCK!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

TOTALLY AGREE! I hated what the popish "Van Hagar" became. Sammy's great on his own and even better with Chickenfoot!

AND he's 74 freakin' years old !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ronnie Montrose wouldn't let Sammy play Guitar. Well Sammy's had a lot of practice since Montrose.
Bad Motor Scooter is one of the best Rock Songs ever
Eddie was into keyboards during the Van Hagar days, and he didn’t want another guitar player in the band.
I absolutely love him since he took over.David Lee Roth then Van Halen were so much better. And the boys deserve that. Miss Eddie
In 1974 on the BBC I actually saw Sammy and Montrose play Bad Motor Scooter on a TV program called "The Old Grey Whistle Test". Decades later after Sammy joined Van Halen I was surprised to discover it was the same vocalist from Montrose.

These guys are killing it! Hats off to Sammy and Anthony for many decades of awesome music!!!!
I had Montose on 8 track and been diggin this song for 45 yrs.RIP Ronnie Montrose
Yeah… that was a badass album ten years after it was relaeased! Not a bad song on the album. Very solid.
I have an old radio station promotion vinyl of it.. stamped promotional material not for sale, that I absolutely cherish. I was given a stack of stuff as a kid. THIS is what we call real music.
And now ten years later, your comment is at least 10 times more significant. 👍🤟🤘
Smokin my favorite song in the world!! And a bad ass rendition
This is just next level Rock n’ Roll. I am blown away. Please re-unite Chickenfoot!!
Chad, Sammy, Joe and Michael. They are so good. Come back guys.......

I keep coming back to this, it's an awesome version of this song with Joe and Chad.
4 great musicians in one band, wow!
Montrose I would say was my first metal album back in 1978. Then came Van Halen 1.
This is what rock and roll should be.........FUN. Looks like they really have a good time.
This is what rock and roll is all about! Kicking ass and having a good time doing it.
All monster musicians just having a blast! Sound great.
to pair Chad and Micheal Anthony is just pure fu@&ing Rock Genius.
Anthony knockin it out of the ballpark right along with sammy as they both do!
Sammy! WTF man, how do you do it? You’re f’ing kicking the shit out of Father Time my man. Rock on!
Back in the 70'S I saw him in Monterey CA. His stage hand tossed that guitar across the stage to him. He caught it and rocked this song to the MAX!!!
Wow those twin lead guitars were sounding like Judas Priest for a minute. Rock on Sam and Joe!
Just when I thought I had seen it all with Sammy and Chickenfoot....I discover this gem. That's the way Rock n Roll is supposed to be played!!!
Sammy will always be one of the greatest red rockers in the world so talent and good he has a style of his own he is a pure rock &roller of america
Chad Smith is just amazing on drums, what a powerhouse.
I got to see Chickenfoot Live now. Thanks for the upload. Joe Satriani, Micheal Anthony, Sammy Hagar and Chad Smith all in one band. Now that's what I call a concert
This is so damn energizing, and uplifting and these ain't young guy's. Amazing. Hands down best rock and roll l've heard for a long time. Bravo.
This is just brilliant, blown away, rock and roll at its best.
Smiths drums at 5:42 are insane. This is the never ending song. Once you think there winding down they kick in another gear.
i didn’t know chad played guitar
Hey lookie here now this is true rock and Roll God bless all of them
Good ole Joe. Even wearing his dressing gown, he'll let Sammy play as much as he wants to, but then reminds the world that he's still the best guitarist on the stage. And I kind of get the feeling that Chad really loves playing with this band than he does RHCP.
I agree. They really let him do his thing. Love how Joe lets Sammy go and Joe just takes the rhythm guitar over
Technically that's a monk's cowl. But yeah -- Joe absolutely *shreds* this classic Montrose tune, and the rest of the band is tighter than steel cable.

Know Doubt Joe is the King. But Sammy Smoked it. Bucket Head might be Giving Joe A Run for his Money. Cheers

Joe Satriani is the Gift that God has blessed us with.
Eddie died, but he looks like the cover of 1984 now. Angel.
Sammy is just bad ass.....thank you
A tall skinny Hispanic dude in high school in the 70s turned me on to Montrose. Thanks, Mike, wherever you are.
Who would want to go home after this
Damn! Everyone sounds friggin' fanTAStic!!!!! Bravo boys!

Not Nine on a Ten Scale, but 11 and ROCK,ROCK ,THE NATION,yeah..
What the FUCK!!! Who knew Sammy could play that thing so bluesy and smooth... The Red Rocker blows my mind again
SH is a great guitar player which is probably why EVH rarely let him play.
Listen to Sammy play Young Girl Blues!
Ending with the Star Spangled Banner, AWESOME!!!! Sammy is a true AMERICAN HERO.
Makes me want hug my guitar and motorcycle
I was very amazed by this video, really next best thing to Van Halen. I have truly become a fan of Chickenfoot. Very happy for Mike, this guy is one of the nicest Rocker anyone could meet very well grounded. Mickey you will forever be the missing ingredient in Van Halen.
I seen montrose also early at rochester ny.i was young.best show i have seen.
Chickenfoot is one of the best rock and roll bands in the past 20 years
Bad ass! It's pretty clear Sammy has aged far more gracefully than David Lee Roth.
Sammy's one of the best ever, and Dave is as bad as it gets!
Ya Think?
Roth is the guy next door with the good candy
