Love what Joe does in this… Doesn’t try to make it his own show off exhibition… Honors the spirit and greatness of Ronnie!

First heard Sammy with Montrose in 1975 on KY102 Kansas City...I thought - this is a guy who you'll be hearing from all the rest of your life. I've been proven correct. To our benefit. Hagar is the reigning king of rock n roll.

MONTROSE. The greatest rock album ever. 1973. Eight killer songs. You should be ashamed if you don't know.

Frank I totally agree.50 years later and the songs on the original album just do not get old. Sammy voice is amazing 35 years later.

No filler like so many albums had then. If you bought the 8-track no clicking through to the next song. WOW.

So great to see Denny behind the drums! One of the very best rock drummers. Thanks Denny your drumming in the 70s along with Bonham, Paice, and Ward were the inspiration for a lot of us young drummers.

I will hand it to Joe. He has the Ronnie Montrose sound down on the guitar. As for Sammie. he hops around pretty good for someone who just turned 70.

Funy part is that the basic Ronie sound from this record was just a '59 Les Paul plugged into a tweed Fender Bandmaster. Watch the live cut from Old Gray Whistle Test.

Seen Montrose soon after the debut album. Ronnie was different and doing stuff others could only dream of. It`s still the finest debut album in the history of rock music.

I am totally blown away that Sammy hits every note just like that 70's original record. To me that album is up there with Zep, Hendrix, ZZ Top, all the biggest. Great job Joe and the guys. Funny Joe started it original speed but Denny's like, "Sorry Joe, we're pushing the pedal to the metal on this sucker so try and keep up".

Joe s is a incredible guitar stud but only Ronnie played those songs with a sound style and a certain pizzazz that nobody has ohh yeah it's great people play them he was under rated in my book s. Montrose was a iconic guitar hero to a lot of players i new and grew up with but only a couple made the way big time and Ronnie had sum major part to do with that he was a very cool nice man i grew up in Sacramento California i meat and got to talk and jam and filled in on bass a few times it's a dream come true long live Ronnie s. Music don't forget gamma rest peace full we miss you And your music lives on and on

I saw Montrose JoJo Gun and Mountain all on the same venue at the Hammond Civic Center.
To this day I'm not quite sure why the entire show ended in an all out riot other than the fact that it was oversold and there were as many people on the outside trying to get in as people on the inside trying to get out because of fights and general Rock Madness.
Mountain can be credited for triggering the actual Riot when they refused to do about a triple encore.... I mean you got to hand it to these guys they were playing their hearts out and then finally said screw this
....this crowd doesn't know when to shut it off and go home we're out of here and that's when all hell broke loose.
My friend and I threw a canvas fire hose out a window and rappeled down the side of the building from the Second Story to get the hell out of there we read about the entire event the next day in the newspapers you can still find it on Google
    in the Hammond Times archives
Now that was a show for the record books.
