- This was a great year and we were just feeling thankful for all of you fans and thought we'd share this as a holiday gift. It's an outtake from the Live In Cabo webcast and is a really smoking version of this tune! Have a great holiday season and we'll see you from the studio in the 2011!
Joe is a rare guitar virtuoso… when he is in a band he doesn’t just show off his chops and overplay… he does what is needed and nothing more-but he does it incredibly well. Consummate professional
Astute observation.
Virtuoso and consummate professional rarely describe the same muse, but these attributes fit Satriani perfectly.
Which is something I never learned to do until my mid 30’s. even in his own band he’s not playing in a way that’s suggesting he’s trying to show how fast he can play
Michael Anthony is one of the most underrated bassist ever, and he's a GENIUS!!

I saw Chickenfoot at the Chicago theater and it was one of my favorite concerts of all time wish they would have stayed together

Best cover I’ve ever heard of this song. Satriani has said he picked up guitar because of Hendrix. He and SRV are the best at playing Jimi. Rest of the band killed it here too. Sam has still got the pipes, truly amazing performance. Would love to see these guys play together again!

Joe Satriani is the only one that has been able to do a Hendrix cover and modifying it to his style without ruining the original song, but that's just my opinion.
SRV version I actually like better...but they are in small company together. Satriani is amazing as well

This song, after listening to it for years, is still my favorite. I smile like an idiot. They're having so much fun! This song captures how they all feel perfectly. I'm so glad this was recorded.

So bad ass. If you are a true rocker, you can't help but love Chickenfoot. Joe Satriani is certainly one of, if not the best, living guitarists in the world. Other than the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughn, very few have ever been able to do Jimi Hendrix's songs justice.

Well, as of 2023, there's never been anything better in the rock world than this recent time capsule. And all four guys are still kickin' it today. Chad & Michael are the finest rhythm section backing the finest (and seemingly ageless) two frontmen. I'm beginning to think they're all immortal vampires.

Always great to hear a band that really shows the love of the covers they do........it allows people to experience the magic that the original performers instilled in those tunes when they wrote them.....I would imagine Jimi himself would have been thunderstruck and flattered by the intensity of this incredible version of his original composition........

@13Musicmachine I met Chad and Sam in Halifax. I was taken to their trailor at a festival(I volunteered at this concert). I just so happened to have a copy of DRUM! Magazine with chad on the cover, they both signed it. Great guys.
