Dead or Alive 1 Ultimate review. Classic Game Room reviews DEAD OR ALIVE 1 ULTIMATE for Xbox released in 2004. This remastered version of the 1996 Sega Saturn version has smooth visuals and bold colors that retain the old school feel of the original game. Fast, straight forward fighting reminiscent of Tekken meets Virtua Fighter 2 makes Dead or Alive 1 a joy to play, even though it looks dated by today's standards. Choose from a variety of fighters with different fighting styles that bring the mayhem and bouncy game to the big screen on your Xbox or Xbox 360 (DOA1 Ultimate is playable on Xbox 360). CGR Dead or Alive 1 Ultimate review has gameplay from the 2-disc box set of Dead or Alive which also comes with an updated version of Dead or Alive 2. Fans of good fighting games should pick this box set up at once!
The first time I encountered Dead or Alive was the Saturn version. I used to play it with a niece who was 9 at the time and she would deliberately pause the game when her character was doing a high kick and roll around laughing her head off because of the panty shot :). But she stayed a fan of the game series up until DoA 4. She played my copy but didn't like the difficulty spike.
DOA1U is basically the sega saturn, but ported. It was not remade, only DOA2U was a remake of DOA2
I bought this game the other day on Amazon for 15 dollars and my version is complete with both disks
you guys are awesome! keep up the reviews!
I have all of them! I was 7 when my oldest brother got it for Saga. Will always love DoA and so can't wait for DoA5.
love Dead or Alive, Itakagi is the man! :-)
Ryu Hayabusa is my main, gotta love his Izuna drops.
Does anyone know why some copies have 2 cards for Kasumi/Ayane while others have Tina/Lei Fang?
Still Gaming is back! Lee has returned from he log hiatus!
Tekken meets Virtua Fighter? You're very close. Sega's 3D fighting games (Including the Virtua Fighter series) and Team NINJA's Dead or Alive series meets Namco's Tekken series. It makes sense because in the arcades, Sega's 3D fighting games (Including the Virtua Fighter series) and Team NINJA's Dead or Alive series relies on 1 joystick and 3 action buttons (Guard, punch and kick) and Namco's Tekken series relies on 1 joystick and 4 action buttons (Left punch, right punch, left kick and right kick) and the Tekken Tag Tournament series relies on 1 joystick and 5 action buttons (Left punch, right punch, left kick, right kick and a tag button).
Another Great Review Mark.
See you DoA2 ^^
cool! i love this game thanx for the review!
Dead or Alive is a great fighting game, the bounce is just a bonus...
So Model 2. Love it!
yahoOoo! you're reviewing all of them!!!!
this game was amazing on the Sega Saturn
This series really reminds me of Virtua Fighter, which is a good thing. Just recently got into Dimensions and it's a solid portable fighter.
I got into the series when it came out on the Dreamcast, one of my favorite fighting games ever. After reviewing all the games you should also review the movie ;)) currently playing this game on my phone via emulator.
Man I use to love this game as a kid! And believe it or not it wasn't for the jiggling! It's just an awesome fighting game! If I only knew where I've stashed the damn thing!
@knuxthefox No, you're thinking of the Demon's Church. L's Castle is a huge arena with a Chinese castle in the distance, it was based on Lei Fang's stage from DOA1. There are steps and slopes and a large open area, and a large gateway which leads out into another area.
Haha-First I thoght it was like an ultimate review of Dead Or Alive 1
