Same and I loved this game...and the menu music. This is where I realized I loved the arcade style racing where you get to upgrade your car, which Forza had, then they got rid of that.

All the cars control like dump trucks. It feels like they tried way too hard to make it as realistic as possible.
I still love this game, though. Lol.
Ok, listening to this review I was like, "Ok, guess I'm not a cool kid, and I must have bad taste in video games, because I loved this game!" However, after reading the comments, it feels like the reviewer is the odd man out. lol. Whew...close one -_-

Honestly, I thought this game was more than bland. It's a really fun game. I got this game along with JSRF in 2002; the best game compilation ever!
It's way better than Gran Turismo. The cars are actually fun to drive. GT sucks, it's not even realistic. All it has going for it is graphics.

In a Walmart I seen one on display years ago, there was some airplane game on it, it looked so realistic to me. Lol

Yep, its Pentium 3 paired with a Geforce3 was quite powerful for the time

Its Kazhooulte I know right?! This game brings back soooooo many memories and is one of the best Xbox games I've ever played!
The music is terrible? ._. It's one of my favorite OST's of all time IMO, it adapts to the racing ambient and it is quite well done.

Still got the Xbox just for this game. It's that good it will NEVER get old.
Its definitely one of those rare systems where it would be in your best interest to mod it.
Just checking out Conker Live and Reloaded again and it looks stunning ( it does also work flawlessly on the 360 with no loading screens ).
Other good titles include, Crimson Skies High Road to Revenge, Condemned: Criminal Origins, Odd World Stranger's Wrath, all 4 Splinter Cells, Silent Hill 4, Silent Hill 2, GTA San Andreas, Need for Speed.

tbh, the graphics in the game looks like an early xbox 360 game.

Actually the JSRF/Sega GT 2002 bundle is dirt ass cheap right now, it's a really great deal and defenitly cheaper than the physical standalone of JSRF game alone.

I really don't care what this guy or anyone else says, this is one of my favorite games of all time. And no one will change my mind.
Most reviews at the time had this as one of the most accurate games when it came to racing simulators. I remember doing research and everyone always said Gran Turismos were feeling too ‘Fast and Furious’ in those days.
This and halo was my first game on xbox. so good! Im buying it again because i love it!
Aw man, memories, I got this and jet set radio the future bundled in 2002 for christmas. I had NBA 2k3 also, but man had some good times. Playing this on xbox. Might pull out my xbox now and see if it still works lol.
Aw please. This game is on of the best games on the original xbox. I really dont care what anyone saids this game is awesome. The chronical mode is boss and the career mode is awesome.

Well, really I think it has to do with whether or not you grew up with this game. With the exception of other racing games that I owned for the Xbox, this was all I had when I was little, and I loved it. The cars, the music, the unique shapes of the racing tracks.... it was all perfect. And now that I'm like 17 years old, I still believe that it is the best classic racing game, because of the experience that I had with it!!
This guy doesn't know what he's talking about this game is amazing one of the all top classics of all time on the original xbox this game is amazing and i would love to see a SEGA GT 2016 ON THE XBOX ONE with sega gt 2002 cars and other vehicles included

Sega GT 2002, one in a few racing games out there for true enthusiasts. Why do I say that? Because in this game, we appreciate the car, for what it is, not what it is *_after._* I'm talking about the car itself visually; many racing games feature some kind of customization, notably bumpers, side mirrors, spoilers, roof scoops, etc. But for a game like this, you're not here for that. Instead, you're here to have fun, but also appreciate history in the making throughout the years leading up to this game; Chronicle mode is a great example. Sure it won't cover everything. But it has impacted us all significantly, and we can't be thankful enough for that.

racing games these days have sadly gone away from this formula of start with little cash, buy cheap car, win money to upgrade car and buy more cars. i think its perfect. it gives you plenty of goals to accomplish and it makes the cars feel like YOURS because, well, YOU bought them with money you earned. i love how sega gt let you take pictures and hang them in your garage lol. just that little bit of charm made that game great. and the soundtrack was fantastic, they didnt just throw whatever pop in there, they got GOOD music for it. the forza series was on the right track at first but i gave up on it when they started just throwing free cars at you left and right and you didnt have to put any effort in to earn things.
This game was my childhood.

I got this and jet set radio future bundled with my Xbox. It was a great Christmas 2002.
Love this game so much. Sure it was a bit light on content, but I still had fun with it.
Depends what sort you're into! Some really good ones are Freedom Fighters, Fable, Chronicles of Riddick, Jade Empire, The Splinter Cell series, Star Wars KOTOR, Steel Battalion (But only for the enormous controller you can get for it-pretty expensive these days though) Psi-Ops was fun, Full Spectrum Warrior...There's tons of great titles, those are some of my personal faves-but like I say it depends what you're into! Hope this helped!
This game was sweet. Mark you didn't even mention half the cool stuff about this game. Like custom soundtracks, drag races. Or how when you sell your car you choose a price and park it out th front and wait for someone to buy it. Or the fact that you can tune up the garage with quirky items and walk around your car. I have this game proudly sat on my shelf and i dont even own an xbox anymore. Thats how cool this game was. I somehow lost my Gran turismo games

I have this game on the XBOX, and i just can't stop thinking of the memories when my XBOX broke down...
I love this game so much i spent like 80 bucks on it and played it all the time. The camera views were great the damage bar was great i loved time trials . its not about the best graffics or the most realistic idk why everyone thinks it is. Its about having fun playing it.
The colors look muted but it looks fucking good for a game that's 11 years old.

When I got my Xbox way back when, I got 3 games. Sega GT 2002 and Jet Set Radio Future on 1 disc bundled with the console and Halo CE. I loved my Xbox-I still have it :D

This game was released as a pack in game with "Jet Set Radio: Future" on the original Xbox.
Although my Xbox died after so many years of good use, im glad its compatible with a 360...now im playing Sega GT 2002 over xbox 360 games!

Should note when he mentioned there was no cockpit views, that's something I don't think they really actually started doing until Dirt and now it's just become popular to do so and indeed makes racing seem more awesome/realistic/easier
I remember when I sent my brother to the rental store to pick out a racing game that had some cool features - he came back with this, saying he liked how you could customize the cars. (Didn't yet realize it was only under the hood :D) - I bought the game not long after, the pack that comes with Jet Set Radio Future. I had so much fun with this game over the years. Definitely one of my favourite racing games!

This used to be one of my favorite racing games. Played this so much back in the day. It came packaged with Jet Set Radio Future, another awesome game from Sega.
When I was a broke ass 19 year old I scrapped up enough money to buy an Xbox and this game plus jet set radio future was bundled with it. I thought this game was awesome I spent hours playing this with my roommate. Love this game man.....
My copy of SEGA GT 2002 came with a free copy of Jet Set Radio Future. That game was the one worth playing.
So if you love variety,arcade gameplay ,bargan bin prices then you can't go wrong if you own a original xbox or 360 & you want a new arcade racer to play then gt 2002 has you covered gotcha & as always i enjoy your videos!

I used to have this game! It's definitely not nearly as good as Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec but now that I look back at it, this game actually still looks fun nearly 10+ years later since I've played it!
IMO, this is the best simulation game out there for any console, ever, as it is the most realistic without having to go into the arcade-y territory to spice things up. Just pure, realistic handling. This game was truly legendary and sadly never got the recognition it deserves.

This was honestly my first Original Xbox game, along with Jet Set Radio Future and Halo: Combat Evolved. Man, those were good times.
Got it in the same disc as Jet Set Radio Future bundled with Xbox ! great game that aged quit well. There's another version called SEGA GT 2002 Online.

@SScool22 my first game was a racing game as well.... Mad Dash Racing .... it was actually pretty fun w/ friends. I then got Cel Damage, Dead or Alive 3... and Halo.... then went on to get a collection of about 125 Xbox games.
