Pfft ROTFLMFAO that’s obviously bull💩modern games obviously look better & alldead or alive games still look the same(except the first one)these are facts.
Even moreso now that they're 4K X Enhanced on Xbox One X and Series X. They hold up amazingly well. 2 Ultimate as well. Shame DOA4 on 360 didn't get the 4K Enhancement patch as well.
Dead or Alive 3 is now available to download from Xbox Live, and the game is now backwards compatible with the Xbox One and Series X. I strongly recommend downloading either the European or Japanese versions of Dead or Alive 3 from Xbox Live since they feature better gameplay, more content, and more attacks for characters. To download them, purchase the game first, then change the region in the Xbox settings to either United Kingdom or Japan before downloading. The physical versions are also compatible with the American Xbox One and Series X.
i just played this game again for the first time in years on my 1080p hdtv. If you said the game came out last week i would believe you. The graphics are STILL GREAT!
I remember some people in 2001 saying the graphics weren't that big of of a deal, that it looked barely better than DOA2. Funny because by today's standard, I think they still look very well detailed, very clean and the animations are top notch.
I was one of those people. It was because of how good DOA2 on the Dreamcast looked. This was no means a knock on DOA3's graphics but just too high an expectation.
im not sure what to be more impressed with the eye candy of the game or the fact he didn't mention some old gaming platform trying to compair it to the newer game
I remember me and my brothers would put hours into this game! It was a blast but of course back then we had to put up with that huge ass controller xbox had. I agree that this and 4 are pretty much the same game. Hell even most of the stages are the same.
The beach stage still looks stunning today; when it was first shown many people did not believe it was real-time rendered.. IMHO, DOA3's lighting effects are much better than DOA4, whose visuals tended to look flat. DOA3 IMHO has the best stages by far of all the DOA games; Lorelei, the beach, the castle, the mountain, etc. My biggest niggle was the weird, random, and nebulous system of unlocking costumes.
@kane555444 its a good game but you have to play survival mode a billion times and get an xbox symbol each time to unlock the costumes , also doa 2 ultimate has the booster disc if you are American . ive got the UK version of doa3 which didn't need the booster

I picked it up yesterday, at a new retail place in town, Game Xchange. For 5.95, you can't go wrong, and it looks fantastic on my 32 inch hdtv. I don't know whether it's the size of the TV, but I keep hearing people complain about last gen games looking bad on HDTV's, and I'm just not seeing it. Even Persona 4 on my PS2 looks decent, imo.
@frickfrock999 They sort of did - look up Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Vollyball, Xtreme 2, and Paradise. All three have mild girl-on-girl dating sim traits.

@drago939393 I can see why. It's easy to mash and get easy combos than other in other fighters. It's very casual-friendly compared to games like Virtua Fighter.

I really wanted to have this game back then, but it was never released for the PlayStation. And I don't want an xbox just for this game. I'm looking forward for the next game which will be available for PS3.
I found this game a lot more approachable than DoA 4 because the AI is a bit more forgiving and it has an easy mode for beginners. In DoA 4 it's counter or be countered. In DoA 3 you can get away with button mashing, but not so much in DoA 4.
after playing doa2 and doa3 going straight to 4 is a mind fuck the game is twice as hard and they swapped the counter controls making the game a whole new experience plus its on 360 making the AI extra intelligent

Unfortunately, no. DOA 3, like DOA 4 after it, were exclusive titles on XBox and 360 respectively. You can, however, get DOA 2: Hardcore for the PS2. Although I prefer the Dreamcast version of DOA 2 (looks slightly better IMO), the gameplay is the same.
Wait... this is over 10 years old? WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THE TIME?! You blink and it's over ten years later... Very good looking game for that age.
ahhh the good ole days... DOA3 is by far my favorite. DO4 and 5 became too much like the VF series. I don't like fighting games that require countering all the time, that is BS and takes the fun out of a fighting game. VF1-2 were good for it's time and counters were not involved, DOA 2-3 were more fluid and great to play without having to fight the controls in the game. I Played VF5 with my Brother-in-law a few years back and we both threw down our controllers in anger.
I'm actually upset that you didn't mention in any of the reviews of DOA the parry system! =( It's a fundamental system for DOA's gameplay and you just ignored it...
For all the people to know (but don't take it for granted): He has said for all the reviews so far that DoA is a great fighting game... Well, as a member of the fighting game community (but not a player myself), I can safely say that EVERYONE dislikes DoA; Not just cuz of the fanservice, but rather the bad gameplay. Still, the new upcoming game seems promising.
This game really hasn't aged. At all. It still surpasses most fighting games today, even graphically.
You must see ninja garden made by same company.

Checked out this review to see if DOA3 actually looked as good as I remembered, and damn... It does. Even today, these graphics are slick.
Still holds true four years after your comment! ;)
@@dynastymusou8906 make that 5 years. Your prob both dead since covid 😎
@@thefifthdoctor6780 Still alive, dude. 😉😷
These graphics still look awesome!

doa2 looks better
@@Shenmue22 You mean DOA2U's graphics look better.
Everything is better
@@Shenmue22 DOA2U is better than the original DOA2. However, DOA3 and DOA4 are debatable.
Yea and came out 2001. DAMN they did a good job!

Beautiful speech at the end, Mark. I was touched.
ah, the last part was funny as hell! Good review!
I remember i used to watch this channel way back in the day!! when this channel was called classic game room
That was the the best advertisment I have ever scene before a video! I like the older NSX better though..
These reviews have made me remember how much I loved the old DOA's, hoping for a DOA4 review to end the combo properly.
Memories...
Is it wrong that this game is one of my favorite CHILDHOOD games? (btw I had it on xbox)
0:33 "TV-Y"
Fighting games forever!
Hell yeah bro 😎
That was a wonderful speech mark. Though I don't remember what you said cause I was far more concentrated on the cutscene.
@Relugus Yes. I loved Helena's Castle. Gorgeous
great video
Wow thats cool graphics even for now!
If I can only pick one should I get this, or DOA Ultimate?
The scenes are still a piece of perfect nostalgia. 🐬
I would totally attend that course.

I have this game and completly forgot how awesome it looked for a last gen title. Still remembered the cutscenes however!

this game is breastastic
Indeed, it looks good because it is one of the few games from orignal xbox that runs at 60fps
Finally, a real CGR review! You almost lost me there

It was a good day when the booster pack came in my OXM demo disc.
Man I remember playing this at Fry's Electronics back in 2001. I wanted the game so bad. I only had a PS2.
Why did it take until 4:42 for Kasumi to shows up? Outrageous!!!!
Holy mother of interlacing...
Video encoding, how does it work
This game now works on Xbox 1. I popped it in mine and it booted right up after an update.
@TheRogueMonk my fav DOA2 will always be the Japanese LE edition for dreamcast
*You sound exactly like UA-camr Klayton Fioriti. Seriously. Check him out. He has a Jurassic Park channel. It's scary how much you sound alike.*
When Mark will review DOA beach volleyball??
How come this will play on the 360 amd others wont
You could be the best College Professor yet!
I LOVE this game. Or I did when I first started playing it. I got bored doing the same thing over and over again.

just got this for 1.50 on an impulse. really happy i did now
looks like these games still record with issues too due to constantly running at 60fps
We need a DOA HD collection TECMO GET ON IT !!!!!!
Just play them on Xbox 360 the first 5 are on the console and look amazing

Thanks Mark!

I get my power from the ocean... the ocean of TnA that is in this game.

I wanna see a Ninja Gaiden-style game by Team Ninja starring Kasumi & Ayane. Either that, or an action-stealth-assassin game starring Christie. HOT!
