Speaking of saber colors I was DEVASTATED as a kid when Plo Koon had a blue saber in Attack of the Clones and not an orange one like he had in Jedi Power Battles on playstation lol
I don’t think it was orange I think it was yellow
I’d like to take the moment to thank Samuel L Jackson for helping create nearly the entirety of the saber hue lore.
Younger Kyle, so innocent. I'm glad you did like Rebels a lot. Can't wait to see who else in the new series
That little smirk Ahsoka had at the end gave me strong Anakin vibes.
Today is Dave Filoni's birthday 🥳 Happy birthday Dave!
RIP Ray Stevenson really looking forward, seeing his last performance. In his groundbreaking Star Wars series.
I absolutely enjoyed watching him in punisher war zone and I know that he’s gonna do really good in Ahsoka
that inquisitor isnt Eigth brother. Eight brother doesnt wear gloves and has 4 fingers. also doesnt wear boots has 3-4 toes.
I am SO ready to watch with you guys! Can't wait 😍
OMG, I was just thinking that we were due for a new Ahsoka trailer. But this short one with barely any new footage is maddening! Filoni is blueballing us! LOL 😂
I still expect to see a new “full-length” trailer with new footage to drop within the next month or so. Certainly no later than San Diego Comic-Con weekend, which would be one month before the series premiere…🙂
6:20 about that. Friendly reminder that Filoni was filming Ahsoka during Celebration. Both Hayden and Ewan where also at Celebration. Not trying to build too much hype, but they did announce Liam returning as Qui-Gon for Tales of the Jedi and poof! He popped up in Kenobi. Just like Ian showing up in both Kenobi and Bad Batch. Mandalorian, Kenobi, and Book of Boba Fett have all used flashbacks too.
I am so right there with you about the saber colors and how you felt watching Attack of the Clones!
Dave Filoni hasn't let us down yet....I think we're in for something Special.
The brother in twilight of the apprentice fell a few feet
could be alive lol
Bro he fell like 10 stories at least
I keep saying we need a STAND ALONE - PLO KOON MOVIE ….
I've been holding it in , to tell you that YES! Sabine wields his lightsaber and this is some of the extra footage they showed us at Celebration. Wait, til you see the rest of what I've seen...
I am still not convinced that the scene where Sabine and Ahsoka meet and Sabine says "It's been a while" is the same scene from the end of rebels. I think the scene from the end of Rebels will be in the show (we have seen the picture in the last few weeks), but this one I think is something else.
Agreed. Sabine isn't wearing her armor and her hair is long. (The key to know where you are in Sabine's timeline is always to look at her hair.) I'm thinking the Rebels epilogue scene is soon after the Empire fell, while the "It's been a while" scene is after Ahsoka encountered Morgan Elsbeth in The Mandalorian.
Yeah, it is not the scene from the end of Rebels. The show leads up to it. Sabine will cut her hair when she's ready to put her helmet and armor back on, and Ahsoka returns as Ahsoka the White.
Thank you, Kyle! ✴ #KyleKatarn #StarWars #Ahsoka
Luke story is a testament to his legacy!
Sabinr with ezras saber was dope
Great reaction Kyle! Imagine if the opening of episode 1 for Ahsoka is the Rebels epilogue all in live action… 🥹😭
I'm so excited for this. Having just finished Clone Wars, Rebels, Tales of the Jedi, and Bad Batch a month ago, Ahsoka will be the first series where I'll understand the characters and cameos from the start.
I think it will be really cool if the inquisitor is Sam Witwer playing Galen Marek (Star Killer, obviously powered way tf down) and he can be a reoccurring villain chasing down Ahsoka and Sabine who is also at odds with Skoll and Hatti. Making a 3 way dynamic of who is hunting who.
Damn, has it really been five years now?
Filoni said the 8th brother is still alive, Terrelians can survive falls from that height he said in a twilight of the apprentice behind the scenes. 😊
Totally agree with you about the world between worlds stuff. You know Hayden is confirmed to be playing Anakin along side a live action clone wars Ahsoka right? This is confirmed, also there’s a chance with him playing Vader in Kenobi we maybe get a little live action nod to the duel between Ahsoka and Vader in the same scene providing the world between worlds is just giving us snippets of her past to show her growth and journey throughout the story for new viewers who haven’t seen clone wars or rebels. So yeah I totally agree this is feasible, maybe the world between world will be at the end of the series and that’s how we get Ezra back from the twilight of the apprentice episode or maybe Ahsoka gets him out of the ship before Thrawns ship jumps like he did with her on Malacor, just speculation I could be wrong there but Hayden is definitely confirmed as playing Anakin and maybe Vader
she is running from the temple she entered
I'm so freaking psyched to see Sabine using Ezra's green lightsaber again! They showed these shots of Sabine dueling Hati in the remix trailer at Celebration but DAMN! It excited me watching this teaser as much as it did the first time in London months ago. I can't wait for this series. Also they announce Ahsoka's release date on Dave Filoni's birthday, anyone else think that's perfect🤣
Honesty I LOVE blue and green sabers, green is my favorite saber colours but honestly I respect the dedication to not using one in games if you have the choice. I never felt that way about the Battle of Geonosis but honestly I understand it knowing how varied it was in Legends and honestly I kinda miss that variety and do with they would branch out a bit more with the colours and show us some unique ones from time to time onscreen.
Even the fact that the 8th Brother is seen here does not destroy my personal theory (and hope) that the World between Worlds cannot change anything in the timeline and therefore has "consistent" time-travel similar to Harry Potter (or Dark if anyone has watched that amazing show on Netflix).
We never saw him after Twilight (and we all thought it was because he died) so he could very well simply always have been taken from this timeline and planted into the future (don't forget that he, as far as I am aware) also thought Ahsoka in a location we suspect to be present time (so after Episode 6) so he must exist during that time.
My reasons why the TimeTravel is consistent and cannot change events is simple: The World between Worlds is build on the Cosmic Force and the Cosmic Force is the one keeping balance when it comes to time and space. It would be very weird that something build on that could destroy that balance.
Also consider that StarWars is massively build on Prophecies. If the World between World would not be able to change the timeline that would still work perfectly, in Fact it could even show how the Cosmic Force works (it connects everything and therefore no time and space exists for it) and that would actually explain Prophecies in StarWars very well. They are simply the product when a character is so connected to the Cosmic Force that he too can jump Time and Space for a short period of time (think Prophecies about the Future at the same location like we had in Rebels Season 4 for both Kanan and Ezra a lot or Prophecies about far away places that happen at exactly the same time like Ezra had during his Parents escaping Prison)
That is still my theory and also how I personally would like the World between Worlds to be handled by Filoni and the other Writers. It would protect the current timeline from being messed up (or changed in any way) BUT would still give us room for cool stories concerning the World between Worlds and the World between Worlds can be used to explain previously unexplained events (if they want to) like they did in Season 4 of Rebels explaining what exactly happened to Ahsoka in Twilight.
Also, want to add this. I just came up with this Theory so there could still be A LOT of holes in this but:
My personal Theory how the 8th Brother could have survived is simple: While "the weapon" was activated by Ezra some stuff happened in and around the Sith Tempel, one of these involving connections to the Cosmic Force and therefore the World between Worlds. All that violet light during that sequence could have been a doorway into the World between Worlds opening (just through the Dark-Side of the Force, not the Light-Side like in Season 4). The 8th Brother could have been caught by some part of that gateway ripping and been sucked into the World between Worlds (or simply a new timeline without having any control over it since that portal to the very end didn't seem to be very stable).
I always wondered how Vader survived as the Temple "exploded". Well, now I think that the explosion was not a normal explosion but the Portal to the World between Worlds closing. Maybe he did experience some space and time artifacts but it was not actually something that would harm like a normal explosion.
Now come to think of it, that would actually also explain WHY Ezra could grab Ahsoka. He did it from exactly the point the Holocron was moments before. So I actually think I would add to the theory above that you can only travel from one portal to another. That Portal Ezra used to save Ahsoka was still open for a short amount of time which allowed him to use it. The second one that showed Kanan's Death I think is still Palpatine tricking Ezra and in reality that Portal was opened by Palpatine himself (through his flame-magic he did). I think he either found another Portal or did have the ability to connect so strong with the Cosmic Force that he could create a loose connection to the World between Worlds, but not good enough that he could pass into it without latching on to somebody who was already present in it (like he tried to do with Ezra and Ahsoka).
WELL, that is a long comment. If anybody read this PLEASE respond and say what you think about these Theories (especially if you found holes in them as I am still rather new to the expanded StarWars Universe)
wouldn't it be funny if they gave us a Thrawn face reveal when it's 66 days away?
5:40 I think it's a new inquisitor that liked the helmet design, saw that 8th Brother had a similar one and went "Well, he ain't getting any deader." and rock the helm.
I'm really looking forward to this show. One thing I am REALLY looking forward to is the Chimaera returning. We has seen cruisers but a full on star destroyer I am really excited about. They really keep flaunting that heir to the empire line... Who knows, maybe those force users are from the outbound flight.
@Kyle Katarn,
5:08 Yeah, if you want to believe that Jedi literally hunted down and killed every last remaining Jedi all by himself (which does sound pretty bad ass) he would have had to kill a little over 526 Jedi a year from Order 66 to a New Hope! That's a lot and the Jedi bolted and hid as we saw in Obi-Wan. I'd argue that his use of Inquisitors makes a lot more sense when you consider the impossible task his master had given him.
From a certain point of view, what Yoda told Luke was true, that he would be the last of the Jedi after he had passed. The Jedi are not a nationality, there way is a belief, a practice. If you are no longer a practicing Jedi, like Ahsoka, well, you are not a Jedi anymore. Their teachings might still be with you, but you don't have practice them anymore as it looks like we'll be seeing with the two dark Force users we'll be seeing in this new series.
Obi-Wan made a choice to leave Anakin alive. He spared his life. Twice! He might not have been able to get close enough to the Emperor to finish him off or beat him outright in combat, but we all know that he could have ended Anakin if he chose to, but he chose not to. I always look at Obi-Wan's story from the point of view of his oath, he promised to look after Luke and to make sure that he got trained. Had Obi-Wan pursued the Dark Lords of the Sith, Luke never would have become a Jedi, and he never would have gotten his father's lightsaber.
The other Jedi, abandoned the order. Fear, hurt or anger made them run and we know what at least two of those emotions does to a person if they're saddled with them for too long, and I wouldn't be surprised if this story deals with that. I thought it was already established that the two new Force users in the Ahsoka trailer were dark Force users--didn't Filoni say so in an interview at Star Wars celebration? Conically, we don't have anything talking about them, so we need to see them at some point. Ahsoka represents those we stayed in the light, but what about those like Reva that didn't quite become Sith?
Anyway, I can't wait for this!
I remember watching your reaction at the beginning like it was yesterday. How is it already 5 years ago?
Being old is wild, I blink and years go by.
The worlds between worlds not really time travel. At least that what Dave says. You notice when ahsoka comes back to malacore the temple is still on fire and smoldering.
Can't wait to see this show. It's going to be so awesome. Also agree about what you said about survivors from Order 66. Officially 99% of the Jedi order were killed during the Order 66. From over 10,000 members the Jedi went down to between one to two hundred Jedi survivors and many of those survivors had been killed by the time the Empire fell. If I had to put money on it I would say there is probably less then a hundred pre-order 66 jedi still around.
I’m with you I love Star Wars Rebels so damn much I still watch it ! My Rebels Lego Collection is my jewel!
I’m not irked by the order 66 survivors, but i’m a little irked that they all seem to run into each other. Would love to see another tales of the Jedi type anthology (animated or otherwise) to just tell original stories about the survivors who don’t end up in the club
So weird they run into each other. Almost like there is a mystical power in the galaxy that pulls people together. 🤔
@@TheHutt0326 there can be a plot contrivance for anything (cough cough palpatine returning) but that doesn’t make it more satisfying. From a storytelling perspective it makes the universe feel emptier when everyone’s stories have to be interconnected.
@@k--music comparing Palpatine coming back randomly to Jedi finding each other through the connection of the force is terrible lol.
@@SERPENT741 I’m not comparing the two in quality, I’m showing that writing a reason for it doesn’t change anything. Having a contrived in universe explanation doesn’t make the storytelling more or less satisfying. I’m not irked by it bc of canon I’m irked by it bc it makes the world feel smaller and more and more these stories feel like watching a guy play with his toys and less like it’s a living universe. Would be nice to see some Jedi in this massive galaxy who aren’t just 2 degrees of cameo separation from obi-wan and anakin, that’s all.
Plus, these aren’t Jedi finding each other through the force these are Jedi just finding each other and then later someone says “well it was the force working behind the scenes”
I really really hope this show is great
Someone tell me this show doesn't have 6 episodes
yepp it's 8
I agree with your synopsis.
ASHOKA GOING TO BE SO FREAKING GOOD I CANT WAIT
That was more like a 30 seconds TV spot
Did you hear Vaders breathing in the end?
I wouldn't necessarily write the inquisitor who fell because of the "saber-copter malfunction" as dead. Force users have survived bigger falls, and he wasn't injured.
Fuck your hair was SO SHORT. I'm SO GODDAMN happy that she uses his Saber. Goddamn does it look good in Live Action
"She's gonna make a saber!"
But did she make one, or is she carrying Ezra's? I forget what happened to Ezra's saber
I'm honestly more hyped to see more of Sabine than Ahsoka. Natasha Liu Bordizzo is perfect for the role.
Personally I don't think it's the 8th brother unless they missed the facts of his 3 finger hands. Barris Offey however is alive and well and has human hands (crossing fingers) ;)
Teaser comes on Filoni Birthday 👍
This is not picking up right after the end Rebels. It starts before, and leads up to Sabine cutting her hair and putting on the armor in time for Ahsoka the White to return for her (rumored to be mid season).
First one! Hey Kyle...great tv spot!
Okay, so we know that we’ll be seeing Thrawn, Sabine, Ezra, Hera and Chopper. I cannot help but wonder if we’ll see Zeb as well?
Better yet, what other characters do you hope to see? I’m holding out hope we’ll see Hondo!
RIP Ray Stevenson. I noticed he is noticeably absent in this trailer after being somewhat prominent in the first. Granted this one is much shorter, but still. I look forward to watching his final work.
Did you hear rumor Dave filoni may be in the works of a Kyle Katarn film or series?
That's WILD if true
@Kyle Katarn I wouldn't be surprised if disney-star wars does their own star wars multiverse story to bring legends back to canon lol
ua-cam.com/video/hOvTPfZTx7Y/v-deo.html here is the link of the interview
That Star Wars fans simultaneously complain that "the galaxy feels too small because we're always focusing on the same small group of people" and that "having too many Order 66 survivors makes no sense, how could they have hidden from the Empire" is proof positive that you can never please everyone. Ahsoka should be a ton of fun, and I can't wait to see you and Bendu reacting to it. Glad you get to see some of your favorites have their stories continue, Kyle. Cheers!
It's not the amount of survivors, it's that it keeps coming back to the same era. And nothing they do will be of any substance because we already know how it ends.
I don’t think they’re starting it off where Rebels ended. I think what we’re seeing in the trailer is between the battle of Endor and the epilogue
Question: Doesn't the Eighth Brother have only a thumb and 3 fingers on each hand? This new Inquisitor appears to have a thumb and all 4 humanoid fingers 🤔
I still don't understand the people complaining about the number of Order 66 survivors. Even now there's less than 100, so literally >1% of the Jedi, who were spread across an entire GALAXY, surviving the events of a single day is totally believable.
Like at least that many of them were likely in the bathroom when Order 66 occurred.
it seems like a lot of stories are focused on survivors where id have wanted baylan to be someone who was not connected to that, maybe a force sensitive cultist who follows thrawn dark and lightside is a point of view remember? or if the world between worlds comes into it, someone from the past. i dont see a point to any fallen jedi to still be loyal to a fallen empire thats if he still is.
It's not about Jedi surviving, this has literally always been a thing.
It's about them being out in the open actively engaging the Empire like this, when Yoda and the Empire were convinced they did not exist by A New Hope. Now all of a sudden there's multiple multiple, highly powerful Jedi just "out there" that never helped in the OT. That the Emperor and Vader just seemingly ignore? It's contradicting established lore by making too many existing Jedi so important and powerful in this time frame.
The Inquisitors are supposed to be killed off by Vader as well once the job was done, and that also happens before ANH. Now they apparently exist well past ROTJ, but never appeared or helped Vader or were mentioned ever.
What made you think this is a teaser trailer? It's basically a TV spot.
A TV spot is a form of teaser FYI
August 23rd but it should be August 16th
Dammit people, every time I watch an American announcement I feel like I'm a day behind and missed something. Then I realise that you guys are just 16 hours behind and your "today" is my "yesterday ". 😅
Hyped for this. I'm just wondering why they keep showing "Jedi" in the promos.
I’m hoping this does good so we can get more seasons. Hopefully we get Cal, Merrin, and Kata in season 2.
Live action Vader v Ahsoka
I admit, I'd kind of prefer if this was animated. No disrespect to the live action actors, just... I feel like we could get MORE episodes if it was animated.
Animation can do alot of things cause it's limitless really compared to live action but more episodes isn't exactly a good reason to see this in animation. Considering that animation actually has a longer process than live action as well.
There's only... what, ten to fifteen actual survivors? The ones who turned into Inquisitors don't actually count IMO, they may as well be dead.
What bothers me is , with all this technology in universe Ezra is missing , ok he must be frozen in carbonite or something / on planet where there are not a single shutle or ship ever visiting , that makes u wander how the hell than Thrawn get out , so i bet Ezra is somehow frozen in something .
I'll love that reaction forever. As to this casting... not so much.
👍✨💫🧡🫶✌️
Where's Sabine's armor?
She seems scared of it, judging by the previous teaser. She likely won't put it on until she cuts her hair and Ahsoka the White shows up mid season.
Most of the jedi are scattered thought out the whole galaxy , the empire can only control only so much of the major planets, what about the outer rim planets or during order 66 some may have fled to the unkown region. Anything and everything does and will happen so goes the stories of the jedi and the sith in a galaxy far,far away.
If I remember Dark Jedi were a thing in Le... Dark Jedi are a thing in the real continuity - don't know if they are thing in the Disney fan productions ;)
Basically the same exact stuff we've already seen aside from maybe 3 second of new footage, and SW die-hards are going ape s*** over this? Really?
Like Yoda says the future is always in motion
Wow it's been 5 years now since that
Oh my God I'm so curious what happens to Sabine and that Jedi she's fighting
