The Fight Between Ahsoka and Baylan visually appeared to be like a swordfight between a Samurai and a Knight in thers of fighting styles, stances, and even their lightsaber hilts and I only realized that watching this video, I just love the differences between different lightsaber forms, Ahsoka as a Practitioner of Shien or form V(5) relied quickly defending and deflecting your opponents attacks while simultaneously being able to transition just as quickly to a series of rapid strikes to catch an enemy off guard, although with one lightsaber it shows a bit more of the Djem So as Shien was the Dual Wielding variant, Djem So relied more on reserving as much movement as possible for what little is needed for attacking and defending. Baylan on the other hand appears to be holding Form IV(4) or Ataru stationary stances, like Qui Gon, his attack patern also suggested he was using Djem So more than the Acrobatic Ataru, although with Prequel Era lightsaber fighting and choreography it gets harder to tell, especially with a fully trained and uninjured Jedi Knight Survivor of Order 66, who would very likely have at least one Form that he would Specialize in and at least know enough about the first 3 Forms to Train Shin to a level where she can easily beat/match with Sabine. (Sabine was rusty and out of practice but she's still a fully trained Mandalorian with at least 10 years or so of wartime experience and some Jedi training even.) It really shows that you really can't compare Jedi to one another very easily because fighting as a Jedi is as much of philosophical debate as much as it is a physical fight, as Djem So is a back and forth match of Psychology as well as fighting ability as seen when Baylan provokes Ahsoka into multiple states of unbalanced emotions, at least by Jedi terms, kinda like the same way Kenobi beat Anakin on Mustafar and in the Training flashback in the Kenobi show but that's more Kenobi being a smartass/person rather than being part of his Lightsaber Form, as Form III(3) doesn't use provocations of any kind but is rather who Kenobi is. (This next part is my own opinion and how I view this fight.) The point I'm trying to make is even with a fight that seems to use the same lightsaber Form as the primary stance for both fighters, that being Djem So, both former Jedi ready for a Standoff both Physically and Mentally take this primarily as they have goals they want to accomplish and they want to control the tempo of this fight, but their Stances, Ahsoka's Samurai attack positions and Baylan's Stoic Knight defensive positions shows their determination to set the pace. But unlike Ahsoka, Baylan seem to change forms mid-fight and you can see him using some Ataru stances and strikes like Qui Gon when Ahsoka has fully set her own pacing and is actively winning the fight up until she get injured after impatiently and in the moment attains her goal and injures herself but is still able to fend Baylan off until she looses her focus after Shin appears, causing her the believe Sabine could be injured or dead, this is When Baylen goes back to Djem So Stance with a quick Series of Strong attacks (not as quick as before but Ahsoka's hurt, she's not going to block as fast either). If anyone reads this sorry for the rant and thank you for taking the time to read this, I love discussing the different Philosophies of the Lightsaber Forms.
Agree...fans keep on hating when things don't turn out to be what THEY think or want it to be. Glad all theories were wrong. Even with Mando and Andor I hear so much hate from fans because this doesn't feel like Star Wars or to many women in a single episode like...this is an amazing time to be a Star Wars fan. So much cool and different content...sit back and enjoy people.

The scene where Sabine hands over the map is a masterclass in how to manipulate the audience. It does two things to try to trick the audience into thinking Sabine might not actually give him the map. First it cuts to a wide shot and backs away slowly. Audience's have been trained to expect interference from a third party when this kind of shot happens in a scene like this. Second, they do the close-up hand off scene really slowly, another shot that audiences have been trained to expect some kind of interference by an outside party to affect the scene. Yet, nothing intervenes and she does in fact hand the map over. It's really smart cinematography.
26:49 The purgill are the only thing that I can think of. Without the map, only they would know the way. Problem is: who can communicate with them? Ezra is at the end of the journey, and Ahsoka has other problems right now. Looks like Sabine is on her own.
Ahsoka using what appears to be more traditional samurai swordsmanship is really interesting to see. It’s a massive departure from her younger style of high speed, high agility dual reverse grips, but makes sense for someone older, wiser and more experienced. And now her shoto saber appears to have taken on the role more similar to a samurai’s tanto.
Those fights were EPIC! This entire episode was epic! Not gonna lie, when I heard “hello Snips” I legit started to tear up. The de-aging did look a little off but I was still freaking out that we saw them in live action together!! I’m so glad they introduced Anakin in the series BEFORE Thrawn! I swear, if Anakin starts talking about or referencing Luke and Leia with Ashoka (more than likely Luke since him and Ashoka have obviously met) and Ashoka starts talking to Anakin about him, I’m gonna absolutely lose my mind. I can not wait for the next episode!
I fully believe Marrok was a Nightsister zombie. The green smoke and the way he died and the sound design was very reminiscent of the zombies on Dathomir. My assumption is that he was an Inquisitor who died during the war and was resurrected by Morgan. HOWEVER, Shin had a sort of visceral reaction to his death, as though he was more than a pawn. Which further leads me to assume he may have been either Baylin's former Padawan before Order 66, who was taken and made into an Inquisitor, which contributed to his own fall (similar to Cere and Trilla) OR he may have been Baylin's son, and Shin is not just a padawan, but his daughter thus making them siblings. She had to see him die twice. This also has me thinking about the "colored helmets" theory, where the blue/red helmets in the opening tend to always be blue for good characters and red for bad. Marrok has been blue, Sabine has been red. Maybe he gets redeemed, Sabine temporarily falls? Wild speculation time tbh
4:00 "My personal theory is that there's nobody in there. It's like some bedknobs and broomsticks shit." I know you said this as a joke but man... who would have thought that theory was the correct one? Hah
27:40, To answer that question. As Morgan Elsbeth is making her way from the outer reaches of space to another galaxy, Ahsoka is journeying from the inner space, much like the Loth Wolves traveling to the World Between Worlds on Lothol. It's possible that the sanctuary also holds a portal to the World Between Worlds just like the Lothol's temple, and Elsbeth may not have been aware of its existence.
Carson is great, but there is no reason why Wedge himself couldn't show up. He did appear in Rebels too, so here's hoping we actually get the real deal at some point.
I said it last night and I'll say it again. By the end of this series Sabine Wren will end up using the force, maybe not as powerful as a force sensitive but she'll be far stronger than Shin and maybe equal to that of Ezra in power. It will be awesome, it will definitely split the community again and it's gonna turn a lot of heads.
I've been waiting to see how Kyle Katarn would react to this latest episode. I knew he'd love it. I watch several reactors, but Kyle is my favorite to watch, as he seems to to know everything there is about Star Wars, so if he approves, it seems to me that is a good thing. I don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but when Kyle asked how Ahsoka and Hera would find Sabine and Ezra without a map, remember that Ahsoka burned her hand when she picked up the orb, leaving an imprint of the map on her hand. I immediately thought of Belloq in Raiders of The Lost Arc, when he used the imprint left on Toht's hand. And I agree that they will convince the purrgil to take them to where Sabine is.
I think she's legitimately going with Baylan to find Ezra--but is also giving her location so she can be followed by the whole Republic Fleet. Sabine is conflicted, but she's also a super-competent, potentially force-sensitive badass.
I think the next episode will be purely about Ahsoka and Anakin, looking at events in their past and potentially some from the future. Then at the very end Ahsoka will leave the World Between Worlds. Next episode I think she will use the inscription burnt onto her hand alongside the star whales in order to make the trip!
I rewound the episode as soon as I saw the Ghost flying, had to watch it again. Marrok was resurrected by Nightsister magic, he was eighth brother, the one that took a swan dive off the temple on Malachor. The helmets match.

“Hello, Snips” in Hayden’s voice got me in the feels 🥺🤧
"You're reckless little one. You never would've made it as Obi-wan's padawan..........but you might make it as mine." - Anakin
Oh how far we've come. Next episode can't get here fast enough
First time I ever saw Kyle almost burst into tears! I felt the same bro!
Been waiting for your reaction! What an amazing episode
Fun fact: from what we can see, the lightsaber at Anakin's belt isn't his lightsaber from his time as a Jedi. It's VADER'S saber, that paired with the imperial march at the end says that there's something out of place
The entire fandom flipping out like Kyle right now. My jaw was on the floor, loudly gasped, and I had trouble sleeping last night after watching that!
This just feels good, I don't even know why, but I am just having fun with this series. Rosario is Ahsoka more and more with each episode.
Loved this episode, got chills. Always love your reactions and discussions.
36:14: This won’t be his final role. Ray was also in a historical film called 1242 Gateway to the West
All the feels at the end of the episode. 😭
Even as a young kid in the late 80’s growing up Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 when I saw the original trilogy on VHS with zero knowledge of what Star Wars was, I still get the very same teary eyed feels with the Force Ghosts at the end of Return of the Jedi… from the original Ewok Yub Nub song and Original Darth Vader Force Ghost Sebastian Shaw to now Hayden 💔😭
I started to sob when I heard “Hello Snips”, then the reveal of beautiful Anakin and I wept through the credits 😭
Loving the Ahsoka series and cannot wait for each Tuesday and then each Wednesday for your reaction/review Kyle Katarn & The Bendu 🥰🥰
“Bedknobs and broomsticks armor”. Dead on prediction made me smile because I hadn’t made that connection.
(Sabine was rusty and out of practice but she's still a fully trained Mandalorian with at least 10 years or so of wartime experience and some Jedi training even.)
It really shows that you really can't compare Jedi to one another very easily because fighting as a Jedi is as much of philosophical debate as much as it is a physical fight, as Djem So is a back and forth match of Psychology as well as fighting ability as seen when Baylan provokes Ahsoka into multiple states of unbalanced emotions, at least by Jedi terms, kinda like the same way Kenobi beat Anakin on Mustafar and in the Training flashback in the Kenobi show but that's more Kenobi being a smartass/person rather than being part of his Lightsaber Form, as Form III(3) doesn't use provocations of any kind but is rather who Kenobi is.
This is where the fun begins
Ray Stevenson's performance during the fight reminded me a fair bit of how Vader fights too.
I love Baylan's single word answers
Its burning hot as it's been sitting under a flame and as metal conducts heat
I like that Marrok was just a random dude juiced up with Night Sister force magic. All those theories vanished in a puff of green smoke.
What a move by Dave with Marrok though. There's your fan theories, up in smoke
I'm very happy Marrok was just Marrok. I hope this gave the community a valuable lesson to just appreciate things for what they are at face value 🤣
" I hope this gave the community a valuable lesson to just appreciate things for what they are at face value" HA! Good luck with that 🤣
Agree...fans keep on hating when things don't turn out to be what THEY think or want it to be. Glad all theories were wrong. Even with Mando and Andor I hear so much hate from fans because this doesn't feel like Star Wars or to many women in a single episode like...this is an amazing time to be a Star Wars fan. So much cool and different content...sit back and enjoy people.
Yeeeeeeesss. But on top of that we also learned he's conjured by a nightsister. So there are possibilities we could see an army of those! I never bought the starkiller and ezra theories man. They're too fanfiction and thank you DAAAAAVEE!!!
@@seabedrock it's crazy that people even entertained the possibility of Marrok being Ezra lol.
Ikr. So sick of these endless theories of him being Ezra like people are going crazy about it and come with these dumb theories.
ahsokas face in the last shot is great its like she instantly turned back into anakins padawan again
I love, Love, LOVE watching your Star Wars reactions in particular. Thank you for being one of the 2 very best Star Wars nerds out there!! You n Blind Wave are my absolute favorite Star Wars nerds!! I love learning all the things from yous twos!! THANK YOU!!
@27:27 - your face ---> PRICELESS!! and even more so when she finally sees him.
18:29 I think Marrok was some kind of corpse created with the magic of the Nightsisters.
If Baylan would walk to me in the way he did when he said "that was unwise" I would voluntarily jump of that cliff
Clearly the first hyper driver explorers rode the purgill like they were a sandworm from Arrakis.
That overture at the end was perfect.
This show is truly amazing
I absolutely LOVED this episode
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Map burned onto Ahsoka’s hand.
WHAT A PERFECT EPISODE!! Left me in tears when I heard hello snips
Been waiting for this Reaction all day!
Baylan looks and fights like a Crusader. He reminds me of Liam Neeson in Kingdom of Heaven.
Also, notice that Anakin doesn't have a scar.
4:00 "My personal theory is that there's nobody in there. It's like some bedknobs and broomsticks shit." I know you said this as a joke but man... who would have thought that theory was the correct one? Hah
I'm going to think that next episode is going to be Ashoka's final test to become a true Jedi Master... my brain was not ready for this!
It’s a good thing the Eye of Sion didn’t have anything in the center or else we would have seen a Holdo maneuver.
Sabine's helmet is still on the planet... probably recording the map for Hera & Ahsoka... Ahsoka being in the world btwn worldz means she died.
Ya about a million people nearly started balling!
“Is she in a purgills mouth?” 😂😂😂😂
27:40, To answer that question.
As Morgan Elsbeth is making her way from the outer reaches of space to another galaxy, Ahsoka is journeying from the inner space, much like the Loth Wolves traveling to the World Between Worlds on Lothol. It's possible that the sanctuary also holds a portal to the World Between Worlds just like the Lothol's temple, and Elsbeth may not have been aware of its existence.
I know a lot happened in this episode but I am EXTREMELY on board with Carson being our new Wedge
Carson is great, but there is no reason why Wedge himself couldn't show up. He did appear in Rebels too, so here's hoping we actually get the real deal at some point.

Watching you guys is so much fun, this was great. The calls on Marrok at the beginning made me giggle at how close to truth, especially Kyle’s, were.
Droid boxing.
Rock Em Sock Em Robots!
*Droids throwing hands!*
Good stuff!
I am still disappointed that Zeb wasn't with Teva's squadron when they joined up with Hera.
Be prepared for that to be the Mortis son playing Anakin in the world between worlds
Baylen hits so hard, he knocked Ahsoka into the star wars version of the Backrooms
And I agree that they will convince the purrgil to take them to where Sabine is.
we’re halfway through and i’m pretty sure we’ve seen everything from the trailers. i’m scared 🙂
I'm calling it, Sabine has a transmitter in her armor, which allows Hera to follow her.
I think she's legitimately going with Baylan to find Ezra--but is also giving her location so she can be followed by the whole Republic Fleet. Sabine is conflicted, but she's also a super-competent, potentially force-sensitive badass.
All the way to another galaxy? I mean Sabine is a tech genius, but it would have to be more powerful than the hyperspace ring itself! :D
maybe you are right about the tracker but they still have to reach the other galaxy and i think only the purgils can help them
greatest character in cinema is back life is good
I honestly never expected this show to be this good, but this episode was great
25:03: I took it as Sabine’s pov /a non force user feeling a force choke
Marrok poofed into a cloud of green smoke. I think he was a corpse of an Inquisitor Morgan reanimated.
lmao "He was powered by farts this whole time." Bless you, Kyle!
I think the next episode will be purely about Ahsoka and Anakin, looking at events in their past and potentially some from the future. Then at the very end Ahsoka will leave the World Between Worlds. Next episode I think she will use the inscription burnt onto her hand alongside the star whales in order to make the trip!
My plot theory for this one- The Rhodian dying, gives Zeb a chance to show up hero style, need reinforcements? Even more fan service for Rebels...
I rewound the episode as soon as I saw the Ghost flying, had to watch it again. Marrok was resurrected by Nightsister magic, he was eighth brother, the one that took a swan dive off the temple on Malachor. The helmets match.
I love baylans saber. I’m contemplating getting a 3d printed one off Etsy.
