I have clinical depression, borderline personality disorder and schizophrenia and was only diagnosed around 2 years ago for everything when i had my 3rd mental break and I'm 27 now. I know everyone sees songs different but it's very hard for me to ignore the things I've done to myself and other people in the past as I don't think mental illness cuts it as forgiveness, but Linkin Park definitely help me accept myself that little bit extra to make me keep trying

Helene here. I have never heard this song before, nor seen this video. I feel like I just got punched in the gut….a visceral feeling of nausea……and it makes me want to weep. God help us to do right by one another and to the earth. Please.

I'm ashamed to say I banned this band and style for many years. I was not into nu-metal and hip-hop, but... a friend of mind re-introduced me to Linkin Park and now I agree: it's a great band, with deep powerful songs. That one particularly cuts deep, I can't reckon how many times I've listened to it...

Man you need to watch the video at the same time
The meaning of this song is strong since it can be both personal and universal. I can relate 💯%. But I'm quite disturbed by the images of the video (OK, Linkin Park sure resents famine, terrorism, genocide, etc. any sane person would and I do too) since the song theme deals with the concept of mercy (among others) and I surely won't have mercy for fascist regimes. RIP Chester Bennington.
