That 17 second scream haunts me. The amount of pain fueling that just tears at my soul. RIP Chester, I wish the world listened when you clearly told us what you were dealing with.
I think Chester's abilities go beyond just being able to sing with power. Linkin Park's music is so relatable especially today with more people struggling with mental health. This is what drew me to them.
You should check out "Leave Out All the Rest" or "One More Light" so you can hear some of his "cleaner" (non-screaming) vocals. He really pours his emotions into both songs. Chester was truly one of the greatest singers to ever live and we were blessed to have him. It still gets to me that we lost such an amazing talent, but more importantly an amazing human being. R.I.P. Chester you will be forever loved and forever missed.
This song reaches everyone on an emotional level. Despite his severe depression, Chester had a way with words and the ability to convey his emotions with his vocal capabilities. I do not know a single person who has not had a day in their life where they've felt like this. Where you've hit the bottom of the barrel and you 'lose your shit'. Can't believe it's been this long already. RIP brother, all the love.
I "lose my shit" almost on a daily basis, but in controlled ways. I allow myself to be angry over certain things and frequently vent, but not at people and not in a damaging way. Keeping my "shit" bottled up caused me to almost die from blood loss almost 20 years ago. I decided then that it was probably wise to find a way to cope with things that didn't involve a blade of some kind.
he had this "depression" because he KNEW too much.. he knew about the elite and the child / human trafficing ... he got killed and would never killed himself. DO RESEARCH
Society has the monopoly on when something’s wrong with a person or thing. Weather society is right or wrong on the right or wrong , those on the “wrong” side suffer.
"Not gonna lie actually during some of that I wanted to cry" i felt that. He says put me out of my f****** misery and knowing about what his childhood was like and him taking his own life brings his lyrics in so many of his songs to a whole other level. If you have the time listen to their last album One last light, totally different from their early stuff but very emotional stuff.
I guess you've never seen the live version of "QWERTY" by Linkin Park. It's just insane and I'd really recommend watching it. Chesters voice is so unique.
Therapists are now using different kinds of known and unknown substances to get patients with severe depression, ptsd, anxiety etc to unlock their root trauma regarding childhood abuse etc etc .ketamin, mdma, ayauaska, dmt, pscilocybin mushrooms all yield good results in getting people mentally healthy and no more suicidal thoughts like CB was struggeling with and in the end took him out.the lyrics to this song is hard to listen to knowing he did took himself out of his misery. rip
Seeing Mike’s reaction to Chester pulling off the scream live is genuine. Check it out. Mike is aware of Chester’s talent and still in awe of him live.
Hearing this now just feels so heart wrenching. The dude was screaming as hard as he (or anyone) possibly could for anything to take his misery away. It feels so...
Chester Bennington was/is hands down the best vocalist of my generation! So much talent. I consider myself lucky to have gotten to see them live (around 2003/4).
The true emotion can be found in the live versions. Glad you could hear it in this recording, in your own time if you could look up this live you’ll be even more amazed at his ability to hold the note with the emotion and distortion live
First of all, RIP Chester. Secondly, thank you for being such a positive human being. Just your attitude in these videos makes one feel a bit better when times are hard. Please keep making videos
Chester has insane vocal ability. If you like this you should check out Qwerty live at Summer Sonic 2006. Its an incredible preformance by Chester as well.
YES, my dear this needs to be LOUD!!! Chester was a vocal monster... He was so damn good, great power, range, and expression. Is this song a cry for help??? The long scream is a cry for help... At least I think it was. But who am I?? A great video!!!! Linkin Park seemed to be really good at getting the audience up and moving... PLUS I love your channel!... Oh Merry Christmas...
I've seen them live 3 times and their concerts live, the energy, his voice could have lit up any city on our planet for years! How he kept from having laryngitis is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Rest on angels wings Chester🌹
you're so lucky. in 2019, i saw Mike's concert and it was my 1st concert ever. i can feel the energy with Mike's appearance only (he played some LP songs in his concert). Cannot imagine what it feels like in the LP concert..
There's no single best vocalist IMO. There are a handful of vocalists that share that spot. BUT Linkin Park inspired a whole genre and a whole generation. Chester will never, ever be forgotten! He's one of the few musicians that shaped a lot of us
"Well, that was more than 5 seconds!" 😂 It was definitely a crazy vocal endeavor, for sure. In live concerts, he would insert a pause, and usually his voice is still trying to recover in the last verse, so it wasn't always sustainable, but there were a few times he did the uninterrupted scream for the full 17 seconds. The duality of that man's vocal talent was crazy, RIP
I love what you said about "not everyone's cup of tea". I believe many people close themselves and don't give a chance to new genres/styles/bands. I've been in that place and many years after I am discovering the music I could have listened to a long time ago and find a lot of interesting things in there. Thanks for the vid!
I don’t know if I will ever love another musician the way I loved Chester. The pain he was able to display and show others who have had similar, I can’t describe how much more open he made me so I could ask for help. I will always be grateful.
Such an amazing soul that we lost too soon. An amazing vocalist, lyricist and front man. He commanded the stage. He helped me through my darkest days with his music. RIP Chester
It's ok, hearing Chester belt it out in this song surely brings emotion to everyone. He was a rock god, and man he could drive that voice and soften it as much as he could power through. Linkin Park fans (like me) have loved his ability to vary in tone, pitch, scream, and control for decades. You should do another one for Linkin Park - Sharp Edges or One More Light 😢 from the last album One More Light if you're looking for a cry.
I'm not saying you're lying, but you're probably mistaken. You may have counted quickly without noticing, but 32 seconds is like... truly impossible to do that scream at that volume with the fry. Chester was and will always remain a legend due to his ability to have those prolonged fry screams, but 32 seconds? I don't think so. Most of the live performances of this song include a break half through that scream so he didn't hurt his vocals for the rest of the set.
Chester: The G O A T 🔥 Grew up listening to LP. He was the voice of a generation. Our generation. His songs healed millions and billions of people. He is immortalized for aeons.
Had the pleasure of wathcing him perform this live in Sheffield. Me and my friends knew that note was coming up and was like no way he's hitting this live. But he totally nailed it. Absolute vocal God. RIP Chester 🙏 🕊 💙
MAN! I literally love Linkin Park since the first time I've EVER heard them (In the End). However, it is so incredible for me to watch you almost morph into what they are doing and feeling in that moment. PLEASE do not apologize for your pauses... Some channels overdo it for time and to not get demonetized but, I learn so much from your facial expressions and talks. Its amazing to see another perspective that most of us cant understand without you. Thank you. Edit: 6:26 You felt like that because you as incredibly empathic and feel what he is feeling... You ever replied to him, "Nothing is wrong with you"....
“Looking for help somehow somewheres”, “I am my own worst enemy” and “put me out of my misery” were certainly prophetic, weren’t they? I haven’t listened to Linkin Park for a while and now I remember why. On a lighter note I seem to appreciate your sense of humour more and more each video. Thanks for all the uploads and for you just being you. Cheers! 🥂🏔
When he first passed, several people i knew said they were surprised he didnt leave a note and my response was always "have you not listened to their songs? Its all one long note." Probably the only celebrity I truly miss...
I've listened to so many people's reactions to this song and one thing is always for certain: Chester had such a powerful way of conveying his emotions. Linkin Park was such a huge part of my life and I miss them so much.
I remember hearing something about how when Chester was learning to sing, he used to wreck his throat by practicing constantly. I don't know if it was just from the screamo stuff, but it paid off. He's the only one whose screaming I ever really appreciated
I've heard many covers of this song that are technically strong, but you can really feel the emotional weight behind Chester's screams. I'm working on my vocal endurance to try this one at karaoke night. I can hold a note for the full 17 seconds, next up is to work on my breath control during fry to transfer it over to a full performance. Appreciate having a voice professional's commentary, I'm taking notes!
Love this song since release! I also love that after the bridge scream his voice is more raspy, they did that on purpose. Going down on what the fuck is WRONG in the last chorus as if hes worn out - linkin it back to the lyrics. Short but sweet. Chester Bennington is a Legend in every type of songs

As an adult now rehearing this song it means so much more to me. Yes when you want to cry I did cry. This band has saved so many lives with there music. Mine included. Idk if you have reacted to them yet, but Breaking Banjamin is one of my favorite bands, and I would love to see you react to some of their songs. Dance With the Devil (my favorite) Red Cold River Torn in Two Tourniquet (you gotta see these 3 in order because the music videos tell a story and have a few Easter eggs from some of their other music videos) Diary of Jane (biggest song) Breath (probably the one people most widely consider to be their best song, or at least one of them) So Cold Polyamorous (their first big hit) Sugarcoat (no caption I just want to see the reaction for this one) Topless (I can already imagine your jaw dropping with this one) If anyone else sees this, you can add some more songs I may have forgotten to mention.
What I really dig is the evolutionary journey this band went on. From the "nu metal" vibe of Hybrid Theory to the soul wrenching, heartbreaking vibes of One More Light. You know how Father Dio sang about magic a lot? That's what Linkin Park did. They were magical. Doesn't happen very often.

Word! Beautiful songs aswell!
I agree
The scream in one more light on Jimmy Kimmels show was one of my favorite screams from Chester ever. So much emotion.
The one more light bring me pain 🙃
" Not Alone " is more clean vocal from Chester i guess
This song reaches everyone on an emotional level. Despite his severe depression, Chester had a way with words and the ability to convey his emotions with his vocal capabilities.
I do not know a single person who has not had a day in their life where they've felt like this. Where you've hit the bottom of the barrel and you 'lose your shit'.
Can't believe it's been this long already. RIP brother, all the love.
I definitely agree, couldn't be more right 💜
I "lose my shit" almost on a daily basis, but in controlled ways.
@@s4tchm0j0n3s I have had a barrel in my mouth a few times just keep on keeping on bro 🤘👊
@@oswaldjenkins8557 Definitely. And if you're around to tell people that, it shows how strong a person you are. Keep fighting the fight.
he had this "depression" because he KNEW too much.. he knew about the elite and the child / human trafficing ... he got killed and would never killed himself. DO RESEARCH
Chester: "What the F*ck is wrong with me?"
Rebecca: 4:51 "Nothing is wrong with you..."
Oh how wrong we all were. R.I.P. man. We miss you.
:(
heard that too and dang it. I miss Chester.
I don’t understand this personally, I don’t get how people didn’t see he was fucked up he even talked about it all the time lol.
Society has the monopoly on when something’s wrong with a person or thing. Weather society is right or wrong on the right or wrong , those on the “wrong” side suffer.
@@littlewigglemonster7691 was the “lol” necessary?
"Not gonna lie actually during some of that I wanted to cry" i felt that. He says put me out of my f****** misery and knowing about what his childhood was like and him taking his own life brings his lyrics in so many of his songs to a whole other level. If you have the time listen to their last album One last light, totally different from their early stuff but very emotional stuff.
I guess you've never seen the live version of "QWERTY" by Linkin Park. It's just insane and I'd really recommend watching it. Chesters voice is so unique.
Love that song. Or Carousel.
Yes! Because he insanely goes between the scream and singing.
Most underrated linkin park's song
Gotta go listen to that again, thanks for reminding me about it!
You can feel the pain in his voice. And in every song. I wish the love we all had for him could have saved him
Therapists are now using different kinds of known and unknown substances to get patients with severe depression, ptsd, anxiety etc to unlock their root trauma regarding childhood abuse etc etc .ketamin, mdma, ayauaska, dmt, pscilocybin mushrooms all yield good results in getting people mentally healthy and no more suicidal thoughts like CB was struggeling with and in the end took him out.the lyrics to this song is hard to listen to knowing he did took himself out of his misery.
Thanks so much darling

Chester has insane vocal ability. If you like this you should check out Qwerty live at Summer Sonic 2006. Its an incredible preformance by Chester as well.
I loved it when you said "there's nothing wrong with you"
And after seeing your tips, I think I may be able to pull this song off one day!
Oh Merry Christmas...
when he screams out GODDDDDDDDDDDD! it's Def a plea... dunno bout cry, but just like he says, he's just like put me out of my fkn misery already.
I've seen them live 3 times and their concerts live, the energy, his voice could have lit up any city on our planet for years! How he kept from having laryngitis is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Rest on angels wings Chester🌹
Seeing them live is definitely one of shows I regret not being able to go to.
you're so lucky.
in 2019, i saw Mike's concert and it was my 1st concert ever. i can feel the energy with Mike's appearance only (he played some LP songs in his concert). Cannot imagine what it feels like in the LP concert..
100% agree. Seeing them live multiple times before and the best concert experience ever. The best time I’ve ever had at a concert.
Chester was and will be the best vocalist ever born. ❤
he is the bst of the best!!
There's no single best vocalist IMO. There are a handful of vocalists that share that spot. BUT Linkin Park inspired a whole genre and a whole generation. Chester will never, ever be forgotten! He's one of the few musicians that shaped a lot of us
I really wouldn’t go THAT far… but he is up there
Rebecca is the straw that stirs my coffee every morning.
That's nice

"Well, that was more than 5 seconds!" 😂 It was definitely a crazy vocal endeavor, for sure. In live concerts, he would insert a pause, and usually his voice is still trying to recover in the last verse, so it wasn't always sustainable, but there were a few times he did the uninterrupted scream for the full 17 seconds. The duality of that man's vocal talent was crazy, RIP
It's even hard for professional artists to reach the vocal range of Chester. This guy was a gem.
The lyrics indicate the amount of excruciating pain that Chester was feeling. Depression is no joke. R.I.P. CB 🖤
linkin park is my favorite band since i was a kid, chester had such an amazing voice and i really miss him. i love your reaction!! ❤
Incredible vocals. One of my favourite songs just because of the difficulty of and the feeling behind those vocals
The fry scream he does is up there with one of the longest going. The breath control with that technique is utterly phenominal
Unbelievable voice! You can definitely feel his power and emotions
6:03, MVP portion of this reaction.
RVA: “Well, that was more than 5 seconds!” I’m dead. Thanks for the lift-me-up! ❤️😂
I love what you said about "not everyone's cup of tea". I believe many people close themselves and don't give a chance to new genres/styles/bands. I've been in that place and many years after I am discovering the music I could have listened to a long time ago and find a lot of interesting things in there. Thanks for the vid!
Take a listen to the live version (AOL sessions), Chester’s scream was perfection!
I don’t know if I will ever love another musician the way I loved Chester. The pain he was able to display and show others who have had similar, I can’t describe how much more open he made me so I could ask for help. I will always be grateful.
Couldn't wait to see her expression when she heard Chester belt this one out lol.
Rest in sweet sweet peace Brother, miss you every day ❤
We Miss You Chester!
Yeah 😔🤘
Such an amazing soul that we lost too soon. An amazing vocalist, lyricist and front man. He commanded the stage. He helped me through my darkest days with his music. RIP Chester
Same. I hate that he'll never know just how many lives he saved
I saw them in concert, he held that scream for 32 seconds🤯. I counted it!
😳
whaaatttttt 😍
Thats Chester for you, like wtf its actually insane
I saw him in concert too. Idk how long he screamed that part for but it was absurd
Chester: The G O A T 🔥
Grew up listening to LP.
I feel honored that I was able to hear this song performed live
This is such a fun song to try to sing with. That scream is so hard though. Chester is a legend 🤘🏻
I always want to cry when he repeats 'put me out of my misery' because of what happened to him ❤️
The world will always need to hear Chester 🌹🌹
“Looking for help somehow somewheres”, “I am my own worst enemy” and “put me out of my misery” were certainly prophetic, weren’t they? I haven’t listened to Linkin Park for a while and now I remember why.
On a lighter note I seem to appreciate your sense of humour more and more each video. Thanks for all the uploads and for you just being you. Cheers! 🥂🏔
When he first passed, several people i knew said they were surprised he didnt leave a note and my response was always "have you not listened to their songs? Its all one long note." Probably the only celebrity I truly miss...
I Really Like Pretty Much The Entire Song,I Can Play It On Guitar Note For Note (I mess up sometimes with it during the bridge /screaming part)😅
This song still makes me cry to this day. What a masterpiece. Thanks for doing this review.
Chester was a rock vocals legend! Thanks for react one of my fav Linkin Park's song 🤘
RIP Chester
I've listened to so many people's reactions to this song and one thing is always for certain: Chester had such a powerful way of conveying his emotions. Linkin Park was such a huge part of my life and I miss them so much.
Jeez, listening to this now, knowing what happened, really hits hard. I'd never actually listened to it in context before. RIP Chester.
He had so much talent. Really one of the most legendary screams that will ever be recorded
He was the best
I loved that man so much, his voice was one of a kind! 🖤 also, perfect reaction to the 17 second scream part lmao
18 seconds
@@jimmiefarley9570 yeah, and?
Love this song since release!
I also love that after the bridge scream his voice is more raspy, they did that on purpose. Going down on what the fuck is WRONG in the last chorus as if hes worn out - linkin it back to the lyrics.
Short but sweet. Chester Bennington is a Legend in every type of songs
“Some of that, I wanted to cry, I don’t know why”..
Every LP song has that connection 🖤
This song was launched 15 years ago and still reached our souls today !! RIP legenda !!! There is no one in this world like Chester !
One of the best singers I’ve ever seen live, absolute legend!
I loved her reaction to Chesters scream and energy. And yes this music makes you cry. I always get chills when I sing his songs, I truly feel it within myself. Awesome song !!
I get chills when i hear this song😢😢 linkin park will never be duplicated
You're an awesome empath!
Chester was one of my biggest vocalist idol. Sings like an angel and screams like a fallen one.
I’ve been learning this song (how it’s intended) for the past week, and the value you put into this video… Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
literally one of the best vocalists of all time!! legend!!🔥🔥🔥
This song always gives me mega chills. I can only imagine what was going on in Chester’s head. RIP Chester. You will always be remembered in your music!
That scream is always amazing to hear, but getting to see him do this live was UNREAL
Me knowing the 17 second scream is coming: 👁👄👁
👁️ 🫦 👁️
Yeah, she said good breath control right before. I actually loled

I've started following you and watching some of your vids. This is so far my favorite reactions you have done. This song I will never ever forget when my brother sister and I first heard that long note. We practiced and practiced more times than we could ever remember. Could barley do it. As an adult now rehearing this song it means so much more to me. Yes when you want to cry I did cry. This band has saved so many lives with there music. Mine included. Hearing this live was the most amazing thing my ears have heard. I miss Chester so much. I felt his pain in his voice in his songs. I love your reactions. I love your outlook. I love the occasional catch of gaurd. That long hold got you like it got me. Keep up your amazing vids. Love your reactions and thank you for reaching to such an impactful song in my childhood.
Love Linkin park reactions, they’re music will never die!
I just requested linkin park and boom that’s what you upload. Love how you break it down and now I have a new song to add to my playlist. Thank you for the upload, missed your content and so glad your back! 🙂
The lyrics are truly heartbreaking.. It was like a call for help, and no one noticed until after it was already too late.. :(
Loosing Chester was a mega hit for the music and even more to the rock scene. Very talented, gifted soul! Rest in power Mr. Bennington
There was so much emotion with his vocals in all his songs I feel like this was a cry for help really and with emotion and talent and technique you get this masterpiece
The conversation starting at 6:37 is so right. Good stuff for sure, great to see everyone recognize the emotional power this band had :D
Seen LP live 12 times and ive realized I took Chester for granted. Yes they were my favorite band but I never realized exactly how talented he was until I heard all the other people trying to sing his songs at his tribute concert. Insane talent one of the greatest of all time
I love Linkin Park because Linkin Park songs have emotions... And you can feel it in every song.
Hi Rebecca. Been listening to these guys, for near 2 decades. You have many, many more reactions to do.
Todas las músicas de L.P sinceramente son muy energéticas pero está te traslada y te hace sentir todo su dolor y tristeza que el cargaba encima..demasiadas vibras esta música ...
Idk if you have reacted to them yet, but Breaking Banjamin is one of my favorite bands, and I would love to see you react to some of their songs.
Dance With the Devil (my favorite)
Red Cold River
Torn in Two
Tourniquet (you gotta see these 3 in order because the music videos tell a story and have a few Easter eggs from some of their other music videos)
Diary of Jane (biggest song)
Breath (probably the one people most widely consider to be their best song, or at least one of them)
So Cold
Polyamorous (their first big hit)
Sugarcoat (no caption I just want to see the reaction for this one)
Topless (I can already imagine your jaw dropping with this one)
If anyone else sees this, you can add some more songs I may have forgotten to mention.
If I only had one word to describe this song it would be "visceral"
this is your first video I've seen. i was looking for someone that reacted to this song and you happened to be the one i picked. And you're quite delightful. immediately subbed. Thanks for your video!!
7:15 "It kinda takes you to a different world, a world I don't even know exists in the universe" That says it all. Thanks Chester.
