Yes, I was thinking that. And I think it's deeper than just praise. It's the totality of the roller coaster it's been -- from the students shouting at him, to the Cathy Newman or that French kid "I'm gonna get you" interview, the sold out shows across the world, the letters of gratitude he keeps getting, to the health problems. I think that deep inside, he still has a profound sense of incredulity when individuals come to share deeply personal stories with him. It's these individuals who go through hell and emerge that give him something like hope or purpose.

I loved when Dr. Peterson asked "What were you doing?" - Then Africa thinks about it .....spends time with his question .....then she has the courage to face the truth of her answer .....then more courageous still - she has the strength to share it: "I was performing." That was such a beautiful moment - and it says so much about her character. I loved this episode. Thoughtful people - being vulnerable and sharing. Just beautiful.

Makes me think of all the Chinese people 'crying' when Mao died, public outcry beyond any normal reaction to any death. It was a performance -- a lie of the Soul. Like puppets, controlling their own strings for the 'greater good'. You saw the same thing in Russia, and even in America not long ago when George died. People cried in public -- people who clearly did not care at all about him and did not know him, just politicians performing. Or, worse than performing: living the performance as if it were truly real. You saw this with 2016 when Trump won and lots of crazy women cried endlessly in public (some are shown on infamous video clips). That is not normal at all.

When JBP started crying i did too. Almost two years ago my ex broke up with me because I wanted to return to my christian faith and accused me of being a nazi, racist, bigot, etc. A few days and months before he was saying how he can't wait to marry me. This hurt and betrayal and brutal attack on who I am as a person was unlike anything I've ever experienced before. I'm still healing from it. It's awful. JBP is a hero. As a Zimbabwean woman living in the west who had a very similar experience, this just warms my heart. Africa is so eloquent and has expressed most of my feelings much better than I ever could. I came to Canada for university from Zimbabwe and pursued a degree in political science - this is where my indoctrination into woke culture began. It was such a strange thing to me to think that because I'm black, and a woman, and an immigrant, that I'm oppressed and a victim of some sort. I embraced that thinking even though deep down inside it never felt right. I'm just so thankful that I was able to walk away from identity politics and mistruth, and even more thankful for people like Jordan and Africa that are brave enough to publicly speak their truth.

Heck I didnt know racism still existed until the age of 20-21 when I moved to the city for college. i had to be taught racism and I sometimes learned about certain kinds of racism only after being accused of it while just going about my daily business. It's an odd position to be in when people around you claim insistantly that they know what you think and that you think with ideas and views that aren't there and that dont exist in even an informal capacity in my psyche because I had never heard of it before. They decided and nothing I say or do could effect it.
I wish I knew how to deal with those situations but it makes me really wonder just how much false racism exiats out there and what, if anything, can be done about it effectively so that a shift can actually manifest within a generation. I don't know but what I see and experience doesn't line up with the entire narrative that gets forced down my throat with any and all other opinions.only being definitely wrong and immediately falae. And nothing besides what im told I have to believe as truth, even about myself, is accepted.
I don't know what to do with that...?

I know a sweet black family, totally not involved in politics at all that were turned away from a hotel because they are black. Can you imagine if this happened to a white person?! Most I know would be screaming social injustice and racism until they were blue in the face. Segregation of schools in the south only just ended about 50 years ago. Pastors of "white" churches still discuss if they should be letting black people in. These issues ABSOLUTLELY still exist today, and the affects of true systemic racism in the United States (if you who are reading this and are still wondering if that is a thing, read the amendments to the constitution). The argument JP is making has NOTHING to do with whether or not racism exists, it has to do with how we view the problem and WHAT WE CAN DO TO FIX IT. As in, polarizing the sides and creating a new form of racism isn't the answer.

He has advanced degrees in psychology and recognizes the toxic thought patterns of various cultural groups that have become problematic and speaks honestly about it. He has never called for anyone to be harmed, he has been accused of bigotry for standing up for his own rights, and has had his career attacked by zealots on both the left and right. @C K So your big move is to make baseless accusations then pick up the ball and run. Has it occurred to you that your avoidance of engagement with a person because they express anger isn't you avoiding a difficult situation, but rather you creating one and then pretending it is someone else's mess? I'm angry with you because I spent the last few years watching this family nearly die and people treat them like garbage while they're not in a position to defend themselves, now that there is someone confronting you, willing to give you the time of day to explain yourself at that, and all you do is run away. You aren't acting like a respectable person so don't expect to be treated like one. A feminist by the way is a person who believes women should get equal rights, not someone who bends to the will of someone based on their femininity.
If you can get me a clip or letter of Jordan saying that women don't deserve equal rights I will send you $100 CDN. i remember having the same experience of feeling the need to post things and say things online, and yet, something always felt off. i always felt scared. i thought i was just a wimp, but it was because i was trying to make myself do something i didn’t want to do, and trying to be something i was not. i remember spending the whole day scrolling instagram reading post after post demonizing white people. i was trying to “unlearn” my racism, and then i just suddenly snapped. i started to think objectively again, like wait a minute, this doesn’t make any logical sense? i then started doing research, and came across people like jordan, bret weinstein, glen lowry, etc. i remember just feeling this extreme sense of relief and clarity. my mom even remarked that i seemed like myself again. my confidence has been restored since then and i’m mentally healthier than ever.

@mikhaila Peterson. My story is not unique, and I realize your handle is not authentic. Though It would be cool if Jordan read this.
I was working imports during the pandemic. Tesla imports out of LA and Oakland mostly. The job paid very well and was hard to leave.
Though I was working 16 hour days and eventually burnt out.
The problem is.. after a few months without the job, I was still unhappy. It was easy to blame the job, but I eventually realized that the unhappiness was internal.
Jordan's philosophy has given me hope. I was always interested in Psychology and majored in the subject at one point. Eventually I finished in business because it was more practical.
I thought a break without responsibility was what I needed, but responsibility is now what I crave.
Thank you for the nudge of encouragement and guilt free ambition. I often felt guilt in moving up the ranks instead of my minority counterparts. I honestly didn’t realize it until recently.
I will no longer feel guilty for my success and will strive to become the best.
I didn’t realize how much I was holding back because of my “privilege.”
Paraphrasing what you told Joe Rogan “People think you should be a pacifist, but no, you need to be a monster. Ruthlessly ambitious and learn how to control it."
I feel like that is what we are missing as men these days because we are taught to suppress.
My goal moving forward is to be a monster with nothing holding me back.

I think one of the last questions that Africa spoke on, answering Jordan's inquiry about how she knew the second round of affirmations were correct, was because she was speaking her truth without an agenda besides just saying what was on her heart. She gave herself freedom, but didn't just keep it for herself. She reached out and allowed others to exhale too. Brilliant episode! 💖

@@moniquesmith5186 I think "melting pot" was simply an imperfect metaphor. "Salad bowl" or "stew" would've been better, where different people can all be part of one single, wonderful thing. 🤷🏾‍♀️
I'm mixed race, and if I'd been born here at other points in history, my life would've been much worse than that of my white friends. But I love America, because over the centuries, it's been steadily progressing towards "a more perfect union" even though it's not perfect -- because NO nation ever CAN be perfect.
I've lived in some very worse countries! Many Americans haven't. All they know is what it's like to live here. Here, where a wealthy young woman of color can stand on the Yale campus -- where annual admission costs more than many people around the world will ever earn in a lifetime -- and scream, in apparently genuine horror: _"WE'RE DYING HERE!"_ . . . and why?
All because a professor had issued an email advising students to be thoughtful when choosing their Halloween costumes. 🤦🏾‍♀️ The very existence of a term like "micro-aggressions" shows how much less problematic America is, compared to many other countries, and many other periods in American history.
I've experienced racism, I was even falsely arrested (which was both infuriating and frightening) when something went missing, and I was targeted because I was the only person there who wasn't white.
But I know how united we CAN be. In 2001 a good friend of mine was killed on 9/11 and I worked recovery at the WTC Site with American co-workers who were like me and unlike me -- white, black, asian, Indian. . . Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, agnostic. . . male, female, gay, straight, married, single. . . and so many different ages.
But we were all Americans, working together. That's what this country CAN be at heart, like JoBisbee said, "the shining city on the hill". ❤️🇺🇸

As someone from London, after this interview, given an opportunity, I’m voting for Africa as the next London Major, followed by prime minister. She’s so eloquent, well-spoken, intelligent and compassionate.

When Dr. Peterson made reference to Pinocchio once again I actually cried. His analysis are so powerful and it brought me memories of a healthier time, when he was at University giving those lucky students some life-changing courses in person.
Thanks so much for this podcast Mikhaila. God bless you all 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I believe that Jesus, was linking the image language from Genesis. We are made in God's image. Currency/taxes and the other systems in the world have to be reckoned with but we as human beings carry the image of God. We should therefore act out the will of who we represent. "Do justly, love mercy and walk humbly before your God." Micah 6:8

when Jordan talks about the Marvel comic you can see how much he's been hurt by it. And understandably so, imagine being vilified in the public domain in such a vile manner? Must be horrible which would take it's toll on the strongest of us. Jordan and Mikhaila, please know that the open minded free thinking people - much like Africa, we know who Jordan is and have nothing but respect for him! :)

please. If it makes Jordan feel better it is a modern Marvel comic. Nobody bought that hot garbage.

@@JoshDTech I think Jordan's hurt emotional reaction to that comic comes from his 'innocence' if you can call it that, that someone would deliberately give him a character that is so vile; for him it was not a joke, especially because he knows the effect of social media. People will run with it, believe it, perpetuate it....I find it astonishing that he and his family managed to turn it around and even make it into a fundraising thing! And the following is a good example of that power of these electronic devices and social media, did you know that the children's charity they offered the money to first, did not want to accept it because he is deemed "right wing fascist, neo Nazi" etc.?
