  • A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department supervisor was arrested for alleged financial crimes, the department announced on Wednesday.
Lieutenant Warith Muhammad was charged with financial transaction card fraud and conspiracy to commit financial transaction card fraud, CMPD said. Both charges are felonies.
Muhammad is the second CMPD officer facing financial charges. Officer Henry Chapman is accused of stealing $900 from a man during an arrest and hiding it in his patrol car. An affidavit states Chapman pulled a man over for speeding and was attempting to serve an outstanding federal arrest warrant.
Chapman allegedly denied knowing the money was there, but the affidavit says it was captured on body camera video. Chapman later admitted to taking the money, but not intending to steal it. He was charged with one count of embezzlement.

The cop that stole money from a man he had in custody and the handcuffed man had to do his own investigation and find the money while handcuffed. The cop was only charged with one count of embezzlement when usually DA's stack charges. You never see a DA give a citizen one charge.

That means no felony conviction and he keeps hos certification and can most lilely be hired in a new place that dosent care what he did because most first time charges are set over to a diversion. U do probation, pay ur fee's and guess what charge gets dismissed at the end of that probation period given he does everything ge is ordered to do..... yep no conviction on his record he is free to move about the state and do it again.
