Thanks for posting this series of videos. Kudos to this young man for his diligence in watching the police handle his property and for remaining cool in the face of absurdity by police. Minor kudos to the police for following through and treating this young man well enough, even though the cop was caught red-handed on video; at least they didn’t contort themselves into a complete coverup.
THAT FEDERAL WARRANT MADE THESE OFFICERS GET SOME ACT RIGHT, THE COP THAT STOLE HIS MONEY STARTED TO CRY BECAUSE HE WAS CAUGHT, HE KNEW THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE FIRED AND CRIMINALLY CHARGED FOR HIS CONDUCT 👋 😂.
You are right, because it was federal he knew it was going to be transfered out of the department and they would ask questions. If it wasn't a federal warrant and everything was done internally, gaurenteed his buddies would have helped him steal the money, probably take even more as well.
That young man needs to get his shit together and stay out of jail. He has so much potential do great things with his life. It's all there upstairs. He was polite, calm, assertive yet respectful...you can't ask for a better detainee.
The traffic cop was the only legit one on my eyes..if u look at the girls body cam footage version you can see him clear as day and the face expression he makes when they find the money in the door...u can see his "wtf??!?!" expression.
That female cop sure tried to distract him & get him to say $ amount, smart not saying it & then knowing it was short the amount the Sargent pulled out of the door, with the Wendy’s receipt! Loved that part. End qualified immunity. Any settlement should come directly from police funds, not tax payers dollars. Praying Mr. Moon gets through the US Marshall case without issue & his family can get a good lawyer to sue CMPD to set him up for life.
I lost count on how many times this man apologized, when he had no reason to. I cant help but feel like that whole department mad at him because he caught that p.o.s stealing from him. I can tell this dude is veteran when it comes to police, and knew the best route was the calm and respectful route.
If you were left in a room alone with a bunch of dirty cops you just exposed for evidence tampering and theft, wouldn't you be afraid? He already know the cops are dirty, what else are they willing to do him to cover their tracks? He should not have been left alone with Chapman or the other two officers who witnessed the theft.

They look out for each other when they can. Even here, he was allowed to resign! He will get another job at a different department in anthers city. He should have got cuffed right there on the spot! You or I would have been. Wake up!
I don't give them credit. In the video there was only one honest cop, the bike cop with blue eyes, he was the only one who looked disgusted and ashamed of his colleagues. The female officer and the sergeant were trying to distract, intimidate and coerce the victim while Chapman was stealing the money. The female office kept demanding that he stops looking in the vehicle, and that he gives them a number so they can record it and close it. The sergeant is clearly looking inside the vehicle at chapman's lap, if the money was there there would have been no way for him not to have seen it. Then both the female officer and the sergeant had the victim alone in an attempt to intimidate him into recanting. Mr. Moon needs to be protected from Charlotte PD. He should be transfered out of their jurisdiction and they should not have access to him for his safety and for the integrity of the trial.
My son act's the exact same way watching this young man made me feel so good this came from his Mom raising him right kudos to his mom and Me too we did an awesome job with them!❤️🖤❤
Id lose my appetite too thinking that behind the scenes the cops are trying to explain it way to screw him over...i wouldnt eat until i was home and that cop was hand cuffed...WHICH did happen.
Kudos to CMPD! At first, I wasn’t sure anyone was going to believe him about Officer Chapman stealing his money, but thankfully he stood firm and respectful and finally got the Sgt to check the inside pocket of the car door. And kudos to Sgt Moore (?) for taking that leap and checking, whether it was to placate the arrestee or confirm what I am sure at that point must have been growing suspicion. The swift action taken by him and his decision to give the arrestee the benefit of the doubt speaks volumes about his integrity. It’s unfortunate when crap like this happens. And I’m sure most get away with it, so, well done CMPD. And thank you for making the videos of the investigation public. Transparency is essential in this day and age.
Mr. Moon should not have been left alone with any of the officers involved in the theft. He rode alone in the car with the female officer, there could have been witness intimidation or tampering, then he was handcuffed and alone with the sergeant who was in the process of witness tampering before he was ordered to stop. This department is very sus.
People are commenting about his multiple apologies and I get it but what needs to be considered is the fact that he stayed alive. The truth is black people have history with the police that OFTEN costs them their life. Not trying to make this more than it is, but that man was scared and trying to do everything he felt he needed to do to stay alive. Yes, the apologizing is annoying, but he remained alive.
if that group of cops at booking was not mix.. white black male female.. this would all be a story the suspect would be telling his friends food for thought.. body cam should be like every other camera in a casino.. cant turn the video and audio on and off whenever they want to. upon release of footage they can blur and mute anything sensitive..
Some states don’t require a seatbelt in the back seat. Used to be that way here in Georgia but they changed it several years ago. I think there is still a seat belt exemption for trucks due to farm trucks using public roads that bisect their fields. It’s why yard dogs (semi-tractors for moving trailers around) can drive off the trailer yard to get gas down the street when they aren’t equipped for road use at all: they get the same exception as traditional farm tractors when they have more in common with an 18-wheeler.
@@emmettturner9452 Law enforcement officers have a duty to ensure the safety of those in their custody, including properly securing them with seat belts during transport. In North Carolina, under NCGS § 20-135.2A, all vehicle occupants must be buckled up EXCEPT those being transported in the backseat of a law enforcement vehicle, they do not require seatbelts in the back of the cop car when in custody of a LEO. www.ncleg.gov/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/PDF/BySection/Chapter_20/GS_20-135.2A.pdf
I love the men and women in Blue. But if people shouldn’t be texting and driving because it causes accidents, they shouldn’t be looking and typing on their computers. If you look it up, there’s been many accidents involving different first responders. This guy isn’t on his way to an emergency, he’s on a long drive so he’s looking things up. Not necessary. And his phone is sitting on his knee???? Really???? How many tickets are printed out every day for texting and driving when I know police and other first responders do it too?!? Talk about hypocrites! I’m not coordinated to do that. And I can’t use Bluetooth to text either. It’s distracting to me. They tell us to wait until we stop. Well…… YOU wait until YOU stop.
This young man appears to have been raised right. Polite, respectful, truthful, and honest. It's unfortunate he's gotten himself in to this position and I hope that he can get it resolved quickly and without issue in his favor. What this man had to endure during his detainment and arrest should NEVER have happened. MISTER Chapman should be wholly ashamed of himself for stealing this man's money as he not only disrespected this man, but also the department, the people, and the entire community of law enforcement. The fact that his eventual charge was embezzlement is very appropriate, and shows that the investigators did their homework and the DA filed the correct charge. The only sad thing about it is the fact that he is likely to get a lenient sentence of one to two years, and serve it on probation instead of active jail time. I hope that the presiding judge uses this opportunity to send a message to all public servants and decides towards jail sentencing instead of probation in this case.
The guy under arrest is a right breath of fresh air! Whatever he did I hope he gets it sorted. That cop should be absolutely ashamed of himself, deary me he's lost everything for $900. Was it worth it? Don't think so! 😮
He could move & be hired in another SATE or department! Sadly our system has many cracks loopholes & corruption. I’ve seen officers that have done worse get re hired in a different state. Transferred to a different department, then given access to Mr. Moon who get shot in a traffic stop. Then since Mr. Moon can't testify he Chapman gets to go free. That's how they do things

The detainee is a gentleman. I think he kept apologizing, because he felt embarrassed for the Police officer (that stole), he felt for him. You can see the detainee is a good man, no matter what his warrant was for. I hope everyone involved do good by him.
He seems like a decent respectful guy regardless of whatever he did
What did he do??
@@JoPowell-n8t I think he has a warrant a felony warrant
I think possession of a gun while a felon
If this dude apologizes again imma FLIP!!!😮 He's so awesome ❤BREAKING STEREOTYPES HERE BUDDY GOOD JOB:)
All the apologies were killing me
As a black man, I understand. That could've went left.@@MDbandit10
That lawsuit money gonna be looooong.
Unfortunately the apologies are likely out of fear he would have an accident on the way to the other facility or in their facility while waiting. Its a fear response.
That man was afraid 😨 for his life! He wanted to be on good terms with them until he got out of that situation. I LOVE HIM FOR THAT
He's very,very respectful and I like that ❤.
in my opinion the corrupt cop is perhaps not the only thief in this police station given the honesty of the person arrested
Being respectful even when you are wronged gets you a lot farther.
That female cop didn't want to face that man cause she was in on the robbery. Transporting cop said my name is Bennett and I aint in it lol
No telling how much Chapman stole over his career!!! And you wonder why cops have a bad name!!!
I was thinking the same thing. First time getting caught.all the money from drug and cartel bust .could you imagine 😮
I still dont understand why he had the wendys receipt with the 900?!?!?! like why take that too?!?!? Made it more obvious he stole the 900
Very respectful young man!
It make you wonder how many times he did this and the person just didn’t say anything. Thinking they wouldn’t be believed.
Keep ur camera rolling” 😂
Sir yes sir! 🇺🇸
The way he kept apologizing 😢 The level of respect and composure he showed was impeccable.
Oh wow! The ROYAL TREATMENT! This makes me so sick! What a great kid! This kid was raised right
hopefully he sues for a lot of money
@@rob_1honestly
@@rob_1I hope he sues..it seems like he feel so bad for the cop being charged so idk..he might not
He's got a Federal Warrant, he's not that great.
@@MrRidleyDog saying that like a warrant defines who you are lol
I lost count on how many times this man apologized, when he had no reason to. I cant help but feel like that whole department mad at him because he caught that p.o.s stealing from him. I can tell this dude is veteran when it comes to police, and knew the best route was the calm and respectful route.
If you were left in a room alone with a bunch of dirty cops you just exposed for evidence tampering and theft, wouldn't you be afraid? He already know the cops are dirty, what else are they willing to do him to cover their tracks? He should not have been left alone with Chapman or the other two officers who witnessed the theft.
@@mikeshoults4155 you read what I wrote and understood he should've acted differently? No, that's why I said he knew the best way to go about things. Don't just look and words read them.
This could have gone so wrong. I commend the young man for his respect as well as standing up for himself. I commend the police with treating him with respect, believing him and holding the officer responsible.
The cops sure were nice to him after getting caught stealing his money.
That's what tyrants do.
They were thinking about how to get rid of him
Trust me if they didn't have bodycams on and were left in a room with him, Mr. Moon would not have left the station alive.
@@mikeshoults4155 I believe it.
They were nice to their mate Chapman too.
Gave us a video of a 40 minute car ride
😂😂
Thanks Cus I Thought It Was Going To Be An Interrogation!! So Back On The Hunt For Mr.Chapman’s Interview -I Want To Know What He Has To Say For Hisself!!!
He is only apologizing because he doesn’t want to be mistreated and beat up by his buddies in blue. Emphasizing over and over he doesn’t want to cause problems.
I have to give Charlotte PD a lot of credit here. They addressed this immediately and took action. Good job
because they were caught red handed. You don't think if there was a chance to cover this up they wouldn't? This is national news, that's the last thing they want.
They robbed him and threw away his perfectly almost half eaten sandwich smh
Because they knew it was on body cam footage. They had no choice.
When are we going to see Mr. Chapman's interrogation video?
My son act's the exact same way watching this young man made me feel so good this came from his Mom raising him right kudos to his mom and Me too we did an awesome job with them!❤️🖤❤
This how thing supose to go💯.. everyone needs to held accountable..world would be alot different...
Did that cop throw away more then half a Jimmy Johns sandwich 🤦🏽♂️. Sorry, this aint whats important here.. but damn.
IKR?
Shit it looks like he only took one bite. He probably wanted subway
Yet he had his hands cuffed behind his back but Chapman was hand cuffed with hands in front. Talk about A Thin Blue Line Gang
Mr. Moon should not have been left alone with any of the officers involved in the theft. He rode alone in the car with the female officer, there could have been witness intimidation or tampering, then he was handcuffed and alone with the sergeant who was in the process of witness tampering before he was ordered to stop.
This department is very sus.
5:05 they sent someone in to talk him out of pressing charges. PLEASE PRESS CHARGES!
Woooo! He's been so polite throughout.
Even during his accusatory phase.
The real crime in this investigation is the fact that the officer almost put the bottles in the recycling bin but decided not to.
That's because they still had contents in them, not supposed to put stuff in the recycling bin with contents still in them.

I was thinking that he put them on the side for DNA, I might have been watching too much CSI tho 😆
haven't you heard... even the recyclables go to a landfill...

Because he is mad his boyfriend got caught stealing 😂
People are commenting about his multiple apologies and I get it but what needs to be considered is the fact that he stayed alive.
The truth is black people have history with the police that OFTEN costs them their life. Not trying to make this more than it is, but that man was scared and trying to do everything he felt he needed to do to stay alive. Yes, the apologizing is annoying, but he remained alive.
if that group of cops at booking was not mix.. white black male female.. this would all be a story the suspect would be telling his friends
food for thought.. body cam should be like every other camera in a casino.. cant turn the video and audio on and off whenever they want to. upon release of footage they can blur and mute anything sensitive..
Plz stfu
I've never heard someone "apologize" so much in my life!!!
He wasn't even buckled in the back of the FPIU, lmao
preferential treatment

Hey charolette MPD, did you release the interview with chapman?
Are there any news channels that's going to pick this up?
They already did
@@dablocishot77 I just saw it. Thank you
Very nice guy👍
laptop supposed to be blurred?
He has a federal weapons charge against him, he wasn't raised quite as well as you seem to think.
he’s apologizing for the cop stealing his money.
but officer Chapman never apologized to him.
The guy under arrest is a right breath of fresh air! Whatever he did I hope he gets it sorted. That cop should be absolutely ashamed of himself, deary me he's lost everything for $900. Was it worth it? Don't think so! 😮
can`t be the 1st time...
OK so what happened to the ten and two position on the steering wheel?
I’m just glad someone stepped up and actually listened to him because as a detainee/prisoner you still have rights 💯💯
He could move & be hired in another SATE or department! Sadly our system has many cracks loopholes & corruption. I’ve seen officers that have done worse get re hired in a different state.
We can only hope he doesn’t find a crack to slip in, because he is definitely not what we need in law enforcement.
Transferred to a different department, then given access to Mr. Moon who get shot in a traffic stop. Then since Mr. Moon can't testify he Chapman gets to go free.
That's how they do things
Same thing for priets..they can do some shady $hit and get sent to anither church across the country.
He's wearing EAGLES slides 💪🏾💯💪🏾😎
Notice how nice the cops are being , making sure his property is always visible.
I’ve never seen someone be so polite while they are in handcuffs
This young man other than him saying long story short million times then telling a long story which is hilarious however chalk that up to anxiety and anger and feelings going through him, he was super composed handled everything well very well mannered this man should never apologize for anything cause he was the one done wrong and I’m so glad they caught that pos red handed on the spot and he’s now a felon and fired and embarrassed all over the internet on top of it! All for 900 bucks. Hope this young man gets his legal stuff lined out whatever the warrant was for idc he’s a great guy people get jammed up so hope he gets lined out and I hope they’s civil action he can get for this as well cause that has to be a violation of rights stealing from him while in custody.
Hellla respect for bro💪🏽💯💯❤️
Cop should be brought up on charges like anyone else. Not fired and hired next town over. Hold police accountable
He did get a charge. Google it
This bad cop stole this guy's money and he still apologized and sends prayer to the cop that made a career ending mistake. Wow! What a level of respect and consideration.
These videos should be shown to the judge to help this young man out in his warrant case.
3:15 ChomoCop one rubber band CreepyCops
Yea all his evidence of the truth he told step by step in the dirt cop
THAT RUBBER BROUGHT THE COP DOWN!!!!! 😂😂😂
Kudos to the young man & especially his parent(s) who raised him with a conscience & manners 👍🏼
He behaved so appropriately the whole time and I am telling you the patience he has throughout the whole thing. I’m wondering what was exactly the outstanding warrant he had. This transporting cop knows more than substituting the female cop. He might be a buddy of Chapman.
Still waiting for that theif of an officer to apologize to the victim, not just his colleagues.
brah when this interview begins I would have been very scared that they were bringing me out to the woods to clean this whole little mess up
What crime did this guy who had his money stolen by a crooked cop done.
Bro stop apologizing.
RIGHT...the cop who stole from you should be apologizing to you.
Dude if you were left in a room full of dirty cops you just exposed wouldn't you be afraid. Do you know what dirty cops do to protect themselves and their friends?
Dude is in fear of his life.... probably still is. The Charlotte PD should not have access to him. Witness tampering and intimidation or...just flat out murdering a witness.
its a copping thing i guess
He is apologizing because of fear of retaliation. Cops generally stick together. The blue wall of silence. I’m proud of how he remained calm and was able to articulate everything that happened
It’s good that the police are being very respectful to the bloke that had his money stolen and he’s being very respectful to the police officers
Im confused about the title. Thats chapmans bodycam? It confused me at first, but that clearly isnt Chapman
What an articulate young man.
Body cameras. So many lives saved
I liked how he handle this situation with all of the officers very respectful under the circumstances.
He knows how this could create a problem for him, and that is why he keeps apologizing and giving gratitude.
