Body camera video shows an exchange between Casey Williams and Whitehall, Ohio police as they try to determine exactly what he's doing parked at an intersection in a car with flashing red and blue lights.
I spent almost two years impersonating a sheriff, I carried a gun and a badge, tracked suspects and investigated many crimes. I never had any issues from the police and the community was nothing but happy when they saw me.
Then i turned 7 and decided to be a cowboy.

Everything will be okay, I'm a full time officer that works part time. Well I don't work, I volunteer for my non profit sector, we actually get commissioned in sunshine and rainbows. As a world war 1 veteran of tactical ops, I feel the need to drive 6 hours away to protect people, but it's okay that it's out of my jurisdiction, my boss is on the phone and he said his imaginary friend confirmed that I'm allowed to be here.

I went through a correctional academy with a guy who had been a reserve patrol officer for our department. He had a magnetic blue light and used his CB radio to try and pull people over. He decided that I would be his next target a few days into our CO class. He didn't know me or what I was capable of. He hated the females in class. I tried to pull me over and I would stop. The next day I had him backed into a corner (in class) and gave him h3ll with my figure in his face. Our liaison officer walked in on the discussion. I was pulled out and asked what was up. I explained everything that had been happening. The liaison called the guy out and he was never seen again at the academy. I heard later on that he got a job with another small-time agency and was also let go from there. If you find an impersonator, they are dangerous.

@@derrickforealNot true. The impersonation charge was nolle prosed (dismissed). But he still pled guilty to improper handling of a firearm. Look it up. Type in Franklin County OH dockets in Google, and then search Casey Donovan Williams.
He filed to have the charge expunged, but it looks like that’s still pending.

I've always wanted to be in the military and law enforcement but cancer ruined it for me. I still can be a police officer, but it will take a lot of work. But it pisses me off when people pretend to be law because they want admiration. It's a sickness. They don't do it to help people like I want to do. I'd always be a fair person. If I were in law enforcement, I'd write very few tickets. I'd make very few drug arrests because that doesn't help people 99% of the time. But these impersonators want to arrest everyone. They want the power, not the ability to help people. It pisses me off

Update - he got a plea deal and only got a misdemeanor for improper possession of firearms. He was never decommissioned from the sheriff’s office so the impersonation charge was dropped.

Those types of bosses are the best. They know the job, wouldn’t ask you to do something they wouldn’t do themselves, know all the different positions and are there if you need advice or help but don’t micromanage.

The dude was presenting a photocopied badge to civilians (one that would look perfectly legit to the average laymen if they only saw it for a couple of seconds), with the original returned badge ID being from a jail that he USED to work at but quit after being investigated for misconduct, is driving around in a white and black sedan flashing blue and red lights at people, and possibly the most damning evidence of all, he is driving around with both a loaded pistol AND a loaded rifle without a CCW. "Picking on him"??? You must be trolling. This was a serious offense and there are many people out there like him that get away with horrific crimes by impersonating law enforcement in the exact same manner that this scum bag did. As mentioned by the recording officer, the police arrested him not only on the merits of his own criminal impersonation but also to send a message to other "security" agencies that this conduct and impersonation will not be tolerated. No its cause during cases like these the fake cops usually gets off with a warning because you cant go to jail for making sure people follow the law (but its illegal to stop people and ask for id) and one of their main arguments is that the cops that arrest fake cops used excessive force cause theyre trying to punish them for impersonating them... thats why he wants it DONE BY THE BOOK. cross every x and dot every T

The courtesy afforded to Casey Williams in this situation was *exceptional* and far more than he deserved. I have zero tolerance for police imposters.
Officer Cano herself has received several awards for valor and service both when she worked for Pickaway and with Whitehall and is well known in the Columbus area for her humanitarian work. We need more officers like her.

I remember getting pulled over by someone who I think was impersonating a police officer. His whole way of pulling me over was unorthodox, to say the least. I was passing him, and I heard some kind of siren chirp. No lights. So I started to slow down and get ready to pull over. Still no lights. He pulls up along side of me and yells something out of a bullhorn. Then he gets in front of me and basically tries to run me off the road. When we get to the side of the road he gets out of his Town Car and opens my door and starts yelling at me for going 65 in a 55, except the speed limit was 65 at the point that I first encountered him. He sounded nuts too.
