My 2 are the best dogs I’ve ever had-I have had a collie, a registered Golden Retriever who had so many allergies, a 1/2 golden, half black lab, (he had epilepsy), a yellow lab, and finally my labradoodles!
I have a 5 yr old F1B goldendoodle and you gave a 100% perfect description of my dog... highly recommended dog IF you are willing to be a committed companion. Im lucky to keep my dog with me at work and at home.

I like to say I’m lazy this is why I am getting this dog so it can motivate me to go out but I also have depression which is probably why so a Goldendoodle is perfect for me to become more outdoors and of course an emotional dog ❤️
You are so right- I have one and I have to get him groomed every six weeks at 85 bucks a pop!! Also CHRONIC ear infections every 3 months at 275 bucks at my local vet. BUT- would rather spend my money on him then anything else- but he is high maintenance. He is 80 lbs. and high energy- his name is Harvey and what a character!! He is so ornery- won't listen to me- gets into the trash when he thinks I'm not looking and then pouts when I put the lid on it.
i have a golden doodle and agree with most of his points..highly energetic but i am a runner and hiker so perfect for me...they also require a decent amount of grooming but buying a decent brush and groom kit will solve the cost problem....overall great breed
Hi Liam, Just wanted to say that thanks to you now I'm the proud dad of two beautiful Golden Doodle (In Australia we call them Groodles) They are everything as you say, also, I would describe them as "active on demand" they are quite happy to lie down next to you for as long as you are there but when you say "let's go play", they go....hard. LOL Super intelligent and easy to train, love their walks, play and cuddles. Our male one loves water and he is more adventurous, the female does not like water so much, she is super affectionate and protective. Great advise, I bought them after seen this video, so thank you!

Irish Setters seem to be making a comeback, after what I guess was some overbreeding? I have fond memories of my grandfather's Irish Setter, and would love to know more. Anyway, you're a great combo of helpful and hilarious. :-)

My cockapoo Issac looks just like Sandy but a smaller version and not as energy driven. Yes grooming always. He’s 11 and going strong with cancer but you’d never know unless I told you. He just naps a-bit more. Issac did have yeasty ears and a few seizures but changes to his food to grain free ... both issues gone. So easy!!! But the cockapoo is an amazing breed, smaller version of the golden doodle. Great son, family member.

Tony Roman I’ve got a goldendoodle and my aunt has a sheepadoodle! In my experience, the sheepadoodle is very shy and sneaky (must be the sheep dog lol) and my golden loves to please people! Sheepadoodle is more finicky. Goldendoodle loves everyone, more outgoing.
Why not just get an Old English Sheepdog..? When shaved to make it easier to have as a pet, they look the same, but with much much nicer coats and a consistent look as long as you obtain it from a responsible breeder.

Another thing u might want to watch out for with these dogs are ear infections. As a doodle owner, trust me. These dogs love the water but they have a lot of hair in their ears, and water can get trapped in there easily. Everything else tho, spot on 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

My goldendoodle is nearly 3 years old. He is better than I ever imagined he'd be. He is a mini doodle so he is 50 lbs at his heaviest. I originally went with him because my niece is highly allergic to dog fur. Turns out, she is also allergic to my dog, Sully. Be careful with this!
I have 3 cats and they act like dogs the father of the other 2 (which are half brothers) is not afraid of dogs at all but the other ones are a little scared. I really want a dog but it's either a lab, retriever, or golden doodle. idk which one
I wish a little more research and explaining would have gone into this video... the goldendoodle was originally bred to be a hypoallergenic service dog, but since their coats are so unpredictable they had to be remarketed as designer dogs. (not to mention people are allergic to dog dander, not fur) Not really knowing what the coat textures going to be some people get more than what they asked for when it comes to their doodles grooming, money and effort wise. I do like that you talked about how energetic they are though, I swear every doodle is born with springs in their paws. I'm not trying to hate on the video or the breed, I just think the variety you can get with the goldendoodle should have been stressed a little more in case anyone who's watching this video suddenly wants a cute happy doodle pup.
Good point Jay. I unfortunately have to cut a lot out of these to keep them to as close to ten minutes as possible. It’s hard to keep audience attention for too long on UA-cam theres just so much content tempting us on the sidebar. What variety? Honestly every doodle I see on Instagram and UA-cam has a ton of hair. I think you must be a poodle or retriever owner. Doodles I've seen have very consistent ccoat and behavior.

I know this because not olny do I groom them every day, but I also had the common sense to do some research before commenting. Because doodles are a mix of golden retriever/poodle, you can have different varioations of poodle to retriever genetics. You can have an F1 doodle, mix of purebred poodle and retriever, F2 doodle, which is a doodle bred to a purebred retriever or poodle, or an F3 doodle, which is doodle bred to doodle. Those parents can have a wide variety of genetics and arents always both F1. This leads to the doodle having a wide range of coats with some resembling more poodle and some resembling retrievers. I encourage you to do a simple google search and find some credible sites other than instagram and youtube before thinking you know about this breed....
Alot of breeders these days wont let you touch the puppies until you pick it up to take home. In fear of passing deseases or the mother rejecting the pup.

@@LiamMurphydogs will be very interested. Mine was tossed from a mill when he started having seizures. I NEVER wanted a poodle but he was almost immediately a foster fail. Considering his rough start in a mill I will be very interested in how he stacks up with the typical poodle.
Golden Doodle- I do not recommend this dog. The coat maintenance is intense. If you have lots of money to spend at the groomers then yeah it's just about the perfect family pet. I have one and the hair maintenance is tiresome. Think poodle on steroids. Poodle hair with golden retriever undercoat.
I like how he's talking about how energetic the breed is, and these guys are slumped on the couch. He says, "Are you alive?" lol XD

Golden Doodle- I do not recommend this dog. The coat maintenance is intense. If you have lots of money to spend at the groomers then yeah it's just about the perfect family pet. I have one and the hair maintenance is tiresome. Think poodle on steroids. Poodle hair with golden retriever undercoat.
