They don’t disagree, bill has a facade to uphold. He is far more right leaning because hes old and not with the times anymore. American politics looked respectful before trump because trump isn’t a politician he’s plant used to divide America to slow them down. Americans especially in the Midwest and lower southern areas are apart of the lowest IQ demographic in the modern world and also the poorest in history since the early 20th century and they’re voting for a corrupt millionaire who had his supporters start an insurrection. Most Americans who voted for trump don’t know what that word means that’s why he’s in charge again

If you’re mentioning perceived biases against Ben, I appreciate that you’re approaching this topic with an open mind. However, there’s an essential point to understand-this is who Ben genuinely is. He hasn’t altered his views or personality to fit the expectations of this show or its audience. The notable change, then, is not in him but in the fact that you have stepped outside of your own familiar perspectives to engage with his.
It’s worth noting that this process of stepping beyond one's bubble is important on both sides of the political spectrum. I don't mean to imply that this is unique to one group, but it does seem that this type of openness is encouraged more frequently within conservative circles. The challenge and value of reaching across these divides cannot be overstated, especially as we all strive to understand others without sacrificing our own beliefs.

This is a fantastic episode for so many reasons! It offers great dialogue, rich history lessons, valuable insights, and an impressive ability to logically and calmly discuss differing opinions. I would love to see more episodes featuring the two of you! I really appreciate how you both start from very different perspectives, yet find points of agreement by the end, while exploring each other's backgrounds and perspectives with respect. (Of course, both of you being highly educated and well-informed on these topics plays a big role in this.) Additionally, your good-natured interactions make the discussion even more engaging.
Most importantly, the truths you discuss about civilizations, Israel, war, and the formation of America are incredibly informative and impactful. I believe this episode should be shown in schools across the country as a model on how to have respectful, productive discussions on a variety of topics with others that might have similar or different views than your own. It could also provide students with a reality check on how the world actually works and how America reached its current state of being, while showcasing the freedoms we enjoy and acknowledging no country is perfect, but America is closer to that ideal than most. As a former pothead, the issue is that it quickly becomes a daily habit, especially with youth. Kids get drunk on the weekend with friends but it rarely turns into drinking each morning and through out the day. With weed, it’s the opposite. It’s a slow boil when you start young in this day and age. It should be legal but people who sell to people under 18 should have severe consequences

I disagree with you about the drinking everyday thing. It's quite common for people to drink everyday. Alcoholics Anonymous has millions of members. Plus if you compare the amount of deaths from drunk driving versus stoned driving it's not close. I'm not saying either is good, but there is a difference in danger between the two. We shouldn’t normalize weed as “harmless”, just like we used to normalize drinking (and still do - to some extent) Even just 10 years ago, having a glass or two of wine, or beer every night, or binge drinking every weekend is seen as the “norm” and not as an addiction. Bill is kind of full of it about weed not being addictive, just like any pothead will tell you. Yes, he could “stop” at any time without many bad side effects like hard drugs. It doesn’t mean it’s not addictive or potentially harmful. People under 18 or 21 should not touch it

There’s no free lunch with it, but agreed, legalized and/or decriminalized federally then let states and local municipalities decide.

Yeah that part confused me. Trump said it many times he can just buy an island retire and he can buy 50 private jets if he wants to.

I don’t entirely align with either of these brilliant people but I share so much in common and I love that they both hold their ground and make their own contributions. This was a fun conversation.

I’m with you. I’ve watched Bill for decades but the TDS makes him look stupid. He still falls for the CNN propaganda. I’m an Asian American female educated at NYU and UVM and I just voted for Trump. I hated Bill’s condescending reference to the Trump voters without college degrees. Also embarrassing I used to watch CNN and had voted for Gore Kerry and Obama in the past.

The best way to get rid of Bill's TDS is to actually have Trump on his show and argue with him until he's blue in the face

Bill and Trump hate each other on a personal level. This goes back to before Trump ever even announced he was running in 2015. While Bill obviously is against many of Trump's political positions, his hatred of Trump is purely personal.
