After watching this I realized. The world needs a "Roast of Bill Maher" hosted by Bill Burr.
I strongly suspect that Maher would NEVER agree to a roast.
He can't even stand when someone does a great impression of him.
Maher takes himself way too seriously.

Nah, it's too Bostony for my liking, lately Bill Burr seems to think he have to turn every interview into a roasting battle. I actually liked that Bill Maher was at least making an effort in expanding Bill Burr's vocabulary that f-words nearly every sentence. Also Bill Burr going on a one-way roasting seemed a bit desperate and attention seeking to me.
Kinda felt that too. I love Bill Burr, but this one made Maher look like the better guy. RARE

Normally with Bill and his guests, they just compliment and stroke each others egos. Bill Burr was refreshing on this episode.
This is a masterclass on humor and why people like Bill Burr stand out. I couldn't breathe at times I was laughing so hard.

There are definitely not likable qualities about bill. Despite how reasonable he is as a democrat, he’s still heavily blinded by certain biases that he can’t get out of his own way to see past. He’s absolutely a narcissist. But I appreciate that he’s aware enough to laugh at the truth in Bill’s roast comments.

For the thousandth time, Palestine is NOT Hamas, no more than American is MAGA. Israel was subjected to a terrorist attack and should have responded by ferreting out the terrorists, not carpet bombing an entire country in service to their greater agenda of eliminating Palestine. We did the same thing after 9/11 when Saudis and terrorists attacked the US but we went after an entire country that had nothing to do with any of it for no other reason than we were looking for an excuse to do so. Finally, an episode we can watch in its entirety. Bill M. is so self-important and un-self-aware. He must be deeply insecure to always need to vocalize and "prove" how funny, experienced, and better than everyone else he is. Truly believes he is all-knowing and actually wise. Bill Burr relentlessly roasted and trashed an entire city for fifteen minutes straight and by the end, he won them over. Maher knows he was completely outmatched with wits, so brought out the pseudo-intellectual persona, which Burr recognized immediately, and immediately trashed.

The beauty of that comment is that it comes off as a lethal take down initially but he instantly qualifies it with sound reasoning that takes the edge off (that all people who don't really want kids should take to heart). Part of what makes Burr a great comic.
They should definitely do a buddy movie or series. Doesnt even have to be fictional. Their back and forth is great, despite their cuts you can tell they get along pretty well.
I give Maher a lot of credit for rolling with the jokes the way he did. He can come off pretentious but seeing him laugh about himself was great.

I normally can't sit through entire episode of Maher being inebriated but watching Maher try to pull his antics with Burr was worth it. No one's brain works faster than Burr's.

Pull up Norm MacDonald on Maher's show w meatloaf, Arianna Huffington and a couple other geniuses.
He learned how Maher was on his show and came prepared this time.
