I live with a family of alcoholics and pray for them daily. This message of releasing resentment hit me deep this morning. I needed to hear that.
A very strong message and so true! The more resentful we get is what is destroying us! Compared to even 100 years ago we live in a world of so much abundance (yes it's very badly spread and that needs fixed), but if we can switch from a culture of resentfulness to a culture of gratefulness then we would be more on track to fix many of the issues we face!

If you have Spotify, his book about his upbringing is on audio there and it's an incredible story. Hillbilly Elegy. They made it a movie on Netflix but the book is significantly better. He'll be a president eventually.

This is so awesome to watch. Both sides of recovery and the american dream that can come from someone who grew up in a broken home in poverty whirlwinded with addiction... incredible. I love that JD is from my state, representing northeast ohio here. Addiction has plagued my family and my own life as well. Both my boyfriend and myself have been in and out of rehab both from broken homes growing up around addicts... and today were both sober, working, have a home, and a vehicle.. both of us building and reestablishing our relationships with our sons. This is incredible and i needed to see this today Theo. Thank you both! I voted for Trump/ Vance ticket the other day with early voting! Lets bring this country back!!!!
I'm also from Ohio. Way to go with your sobriety. My kids dad died from Fentanyl, now I have 3 heart broken young adults that have to go through their life without their dad. So sad. Love that Theo gives Vance and Trump a platform. Great conversation

It's weird how much my story and JD Vance's story align. My mother was an amazing person when I was young, but her choice in men drove her to addiction with alcohol then eventually methamphetamines and she ended with Oxycontin. I went through all the same emotions with my mother and ultimately I walked out of the house at 18 joined the Army served 20 years became a First Sergeant decided my skills would hest serve outside the Army and now I'm almost done with my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I had to drop out of school and get my GED when I was 15. That's probably where we differ. However, I've led an extraordinary life, and as long as I keep breathing, I intend to keep serving my fellow man and woman as much as I can.

This is literally the first time ive seen ANY politician truly sit and shoot the shit for a couple hours. Talking football, cracking jokes and even routinely cursing. It sounds dumb but this is the future of politicians and how they face the public.

Living on the southern border myself with law enforcement friends, JD is spot on about them being totally overwhelmed. We are all SICK of the human trafficking and the unsafe environment and accidents on our streets because they lead officers on high speed chases…and they do it in high traffic areas. Border Patrol are understaffed and so overtaxed. Just had to weigh in on the validity of the crisis on the southern border.
