I'm a researcher and i must say not everything scientists say is 100 percent true. No one should be above the public judgement even scientists. I agree with NDT on vaccines but they didn't have his beautiful argument while people were dying. It wasn't a transparent mechanism. It wasn't absolute and when people call it, scientists must man up and own their mistakes. Look at the interactions between rand paul and fauci. Basically the public didn't know why the labs were experimenting with what they did and people died for that. Vaccines are good but transparency must be on top of the lists of every procedure and experiment.

I think his point is that people trust the doctor's expertise in one case and not to the other. I don't see why the differences in the cases would imply that a doctor's expertise is sufficient in one situation and not the other. So it seems to be a fair comparison to me, at least for his point
Neil was right at the end of this. His point was not well understood by the panel in a hurry to get to a party. Remember, trump bankrupted a casino, where probabilities are always on the side of the establishment. I have young children, and in Europe it was a scientific decision to vaccinate the most vulnerable of the population and not the healthy youth for C19 which continues to evolve.. That doesn't apply to MMR vaccines. Or so many others. Shocking to watch unfold, but NDT, publish papers; and advocate science to youth like Bill Nye if you can't.

Donna Brazile shouldn’t be allowed on any talk show after giving Hillary debate questions. She has zero shame.
With leadership like Donna, it’s no surprise the Dems blew it.
True. People like Brazil still exist in the dynamic in which leaking questions to their preferred candidate matters. Thankfully, legacy media no longer has quite the stranglehold it once did.
A good next step would be to remove the requirement of a given percentage of polling conducted by those media outlets to land on a debate stage. They've demonstrated they cannot be trusted to act in the best interests of the people.

Fixing the climate problems on Earth can create thousands of jobs for people that aren't lazy.
Like what and who? On top of destroying the jobs of thousands that work twice as hard as any climate lunatic.
That's fine as long as we don't leave people behind, we need to repurpose those hard working men and woman who for decades worked dangerous jobs to provide for us. But instead we got an intellectual class of asshats who just told them to "learn to code".
Andrew Sullivan talking sense and rationale.
hardly. He's an embarrassment.
Not really. But one thing he is really, is constantly condescending.
@@amstaylorph sure.
I love how much NDT pissed off Bill at the end.
I love Bill but his lack of humility is a major flaw in his personality. He really has difficulty copping to being wrong.
I don't think Bill was really mad. He was still making jokes and kind of poked fun at himself. I do think he can be pompous sometimes but tonight it seemed like he was just having fun.
I didn't think there was anyone who could love themselves more than Maher but Tyson showed me there is. he loves to hear himself speak. I have an old friend who has used that "I'm a scientist!" bit before. People who are REALLY smart don't have to tell you they are.
I appreciate Bill but he is often too arrogant and dismissive of people he disagrees with. He certainly lost that round not because he is wrong but he used the worst possible retort - this is not even your area. Bill opinions about things that are not his area all the time. Sometimes he is wrong and sometimes he is right. Actually, it is arrogant of me to say that. Sometimes I agree with his position and sometimes I don't. And that agreement is based on the quality of his argument and my own bias default. Neil will not get another invite. Bill is too arrogant to have someone dominate him on his own show. Still love Bill he is an overwhelming net positive. We all have our issue. Good win Dr. Tyson - the Scientist.
Yeah, I really like Bill for his skepticism of both the political Right and Left (mostly) .. but this one, he looked really terrible with that comment. .. yeah, dude, you are a smartish political talk show guy .. and the guy next to you is a world renown astrophysicist ..... umm, you are going to say that his position on probabilistic thinking and general misunderstanding of statistics are incorrect?
It was interesting to see the high level of love and respect that Bill has for Tyson, and all the identity politics Brazille spouts, yet both Bill and Brazille were so comfortable shutting down the nation’s leading astrophysicist because they wanted to go party … that was really odd.
Shoutout to NDT for fighting the good fight regardless of the interest of those around and their clout.
5:20 Bill: there were so many wrong things said here by everybody.
Entire panel: 😐
6:30 Neil: Everybody else here said something that was false. What did you say that was false?
Bill: Nothing
Just another aging narcissist

Bruh you guys are crazy lol,
Regardless of that fact, most things he says are true lol

DeGeneres has bought and sold over 50 houses. Some of her other properties include a cottage she listed for $6 million in 2022, and a Malibu home that once belonged to Brad Pitt she purchased for $12 million back in 2011.
huh?
@@bebesomething They talked about Ellen Degeneres moving away from America, I guess. Not sure about the houses

She'll weep about being out of the spotlight
but she'll glance at her Bank Statement and laugh!
The biggest ridiculous statement that was made regarding Ellen was Bill trying to claim that she was canceled due to political pressure when it was nothing more than the media pressuring her because of the bad publicity of her being abusive towards her staff. It had nothing to do with Democrats or Republicans.
She’ll be back when she realizes how much taxes she has to pay.
Tyson calling it out Maher. Solid. Bill Maher taking it like an adult. Solid.
Taking it like an adult means deflecting in favor of partying and getting drunk. Good to know.
Thank-you for having having him loved his books !!!
I find Tyson annoying and obnoxious. Tyson is underwhelming.
carl sagan would be disappointed.
Why isn't anyone ever just whelmed? 😂
He is smug af!!!! Can't stand him, he has lost the plot
Agree, he is unimpressive, and a very prejudiced atheist.
Agreed.
Yep. When people wish to ignore science and scientists, that's the start of a major societal downfall.
