Linwood do you have a blow dryer suggestion at a gair price point? Ive noticed that recently I tend to burn a lot of my clients, I don't know if I'm getting old or the dryer's getting old. Appreciate any advice given 😊
I am not a student. Just a 57 year old woman who just learned that I have ALWAYS curled my hair the wrong way. Thank you SO much for this video. Never too old to learn something and you schooled me for certain!! 😊
I love all of your videos but your instructional videos - straight fire!! You are an amazing teacher and I really appreciate how you explain things. Thank you!
When I was a teenager, my dad brought home a true, old school Marcellus curling iron….black and silver. No idea where he got it. At first I burned my ears, neck, forehead…..😂, but once I got the hang of it, my hair was always slayed!!!!!!😂😂😂😂
I want to let you know since discovering and subscribing to your channel my hair has flourished. While my hair is long my go to styles is a topknot and wigs. I've always taken care of my hair by trims as needed, relaxer twice a year. When you talked about water and conditioner, I took notice (reading the ingredients). I use to tear my hair up with a comb trying to detangle through the gel! Now I section my hair, spay with water, detangle with my fingers first, no longer tearing/breaking my hair off!!! Thank you for your lessons!!! You are appreciated 👏
When I used to get my hair 'done' before going natural, I always looked for old-school stylists. Not anyone can use a Marcel curler and keep hair healthy, not burned. Thank you Instructor Lindwood😊
Thank You for sharing all the wisdoms you have acquired throughout your profession of Cosmetology and teaching future cosmetologist because this profession will never have to worry of being Jobless. Thank You for all the work you have done in this social media driven world. Keeping those who need the proper way especially the DIY's who are going out buying stuff that is not right for example knowing your hair type & ethnic background and wind-up wear a baseball or scarf till your hair grows back from using the wrong products. You have shown me, myself using the new equipment too. I grew up during the straighten comb & curl irons (that you didn't plug in to the wall but place on stove) There wasn't handheld blow dryer either just home designed hair dryer that was like at the beauty shop not exactly it took longer to dry. Again Thank You Glam Fam..🌹🌹🌹❤️🌹🌹🌹
thank you thank you thank you for providing useful and thorough explanations of styling technique, physicality, directional guidance, hand positions, process, science, reasoning, etc. I have watched so many hair how-to videos in my life and learned nothing from any of them until I just found your channel. I second all the other comments about how AMAZING you are at teaching. your pacing, demonstration, voice, demeanor, everything and perfection! Finally, instead of feeling disappointed or frustrated or like a numbskull for not getting it, I feel confident and capable to style my hair. sincerly, thank you so much
My aha moment was the fish hook curl, lol. It doesn't happen often, but every once in a while, I'll get that. Now I know to make sure that my barrel is facing the correct way. Thanks 💜
Thanks SO MUCH‼️YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW YOU'VE JUST HELPED ME🙏🏾🥰 Your instructional videos are so full of nuggets. Thanks Linwood boo😘 Can you do a video on curling with ceramics/flat irons? I need to learn that "flick of the wrist" technique 😂
Love this video, I learned the techniques years ago and have a marcel electric curling iron I bought when I was still wearing my hair straight. I dont think Ive ever seen anyone show how to use them. Makes me want to blowout my hair and use mine. ❤
You are an excellent teacher!!❤❤ TY!! This was the BEST tutorial I have ever seen for a non professional to learn how to to style hair with a curling iron correctly!!
Wow I've been doing my own hair since i was 12 (I'm 42 now) and I know how to do many styles. But NEVER perfected curling (not even close lol), so I just let it go. But this was sooo helpful. Will be practicing on my wigs! 😂 You're SUCH a stylist AND imstructor! Thank you!!!
What a great video! Thank you so much! So many hairstylist teach hair styles, but forget about the basics and that is very important to learning how to do hair. I find your videos very educational and I appreciate it, so thank you again. I look forward to watching more.
I am a new student, been in school a month and no one has explained this to me. I'm waisting clock hours trying learn. But now i have a point of reference, thank you. Since we don't have practical at stae board, they are not teaching us the why of things, just the how, IMO.
Luv you, Linwood. I’ve been a loving fan of yours for a while. I love your style of explaining, and your transparency. I’m always looking for your videos. Looking forward to seeing more instructional videos and your welcoming smile.
Thank you so much. I have been getting so frustrated trying to curl my hair that I’ve just been putting it in a ponytail. I’m going to try it your way the next time I do it
Omg! Thank you for this tutorial on curling hair. All the wrong way to curl I have done. Especially the fish hook😂 My curls always never last but a few mins I end up looking a hot mess like I was in rain storm..🥴😳
I’m the oldest and my mom got cancer when I was 11. I have 4C honestly I feel like it’s 5C hair. To this day many moons later, I have never been able to make my hair looks silky. This has been helpful thank you..
About 4 "aha moments"!! 😂 Guilty of doing ALL the mistakes. Well i did know to smooth the hair out prior but EVERYTHING else was a hot mess 😂 hair dents, fish hooks, fallen curls and all. Awesome tutorial! ❤
Good to see you again! Do you think it's safe to get under the hair dryer with grease in my hair? This is such a wonderful tutorial! Especially the direction of curling the hair 👍🏿😊💙
Hello. I just watched a video from a few years ago but I didn’t want to comment on it. In the video you say to avoid sulfate shampoo if your hair is in the drier side, but I have a scalp condition that makes my hair have alot of dandruff-like specs in my it. Sulfates are recommended to remove those spots, but my hair is also dry. What do I do?
Yes, you can, many of them are chelating shampoos that can help remove mineral deposits and heavy metals from the hair. I would just recommend following it up with moisture shampoo and conditioner

Hey Linwood do you have a video that explains why (my) hair stays straight longer when you use a flat iron vs straightening comb? Just wondering. Blessings 💚💜
When I learned, the stress ball analogy would have been so helpful. I know I'm in for a good experience when the stylist has an iron like yours or the stove version. I just found 2 new stylist and they both have a set. They are my go-to now bc finding a stylist has taken me a few yrs. These new age folks aren't for me. More ppl need training like yours.

Can you do a video on how to properly blow dry hair?
Sure thing! I’ll add that to my list. Are we talking about blow drying curly/coily hair smooth, or blow dry styling with a round brush?

So sorry that this is off topic, but then I really need to know: is it okay to use neutralising shampoo, that is the relaxer kit shampoo, on 4c hair?
Yes, you can, many of them are chelating shampoos that can help remove mineral deposits and heavy metals from the hair. I would just recommend following it up with moisture shampoo and conditioner

Could be the heat it too high or the amount of passes you use. One is Direct heat the other is indirect. depends on the metal of the plates.
