- The very moment the new Mercedes-AMG C63 rumbles to life, any notion this monster has been diminished by downsizing the V8 is immediately smashed.
In fact, its rumble is more like the deep, ground shaking burble of a battle tank than any four-door luxury sedan. And that’s while its still sitting idle. On the move, well just listen to this.
This is the latest creation from Mercedes hot rod asylum AMG. It’s monstrously fast, way too quick for public roads, so we’ve come to a private road where we can open it up and give you a little taste of what this thing is capable of.
Overseas there’s two versions of this new model. The standard C63 offers 350kW, but since Australia is the biggest market for AMG per capita, we only get the full strength 375kW C63 S.
Weirdly this has got the same power but more torque than the GT, a pretty sweet deal at half the price.
In 1995 the almost identically priced C36 AMG, could do 0-100 in 6.5 seconds. Fast-forward 20 years C63 S is capable of doing the sprint in a supercar-style 4 seconds flat.
But it’s not just about the car’s outright pace; this latest iteration is also equipped with the kind of technology that was simply unheard of two decades ago.
Standard features include complex performance-enhancing systems such as AMG Ride Control with adjustable shock absorbers, an electronic locking rear diff and the AMG Dynamic Select drive programs that let you customize the car’s character.
Unique to this segment are the dynamic engine mounts, which aim to provide the optimum balance between ride and handling by adapting their stiffness to the driving conditions. Soft for comfort and stiffer for high g-forces.
For those wondering how it all comes together on the road and on the track? One word: stupendously.

Lol its very subjective, i test drove one, the negatives are it lacks driver feedback and feels heavy and lazy in corners, because it is a very heavy car, no 50:50 weight distribution, it can't be a driver's car but it will make a good family car.

bmw always lags behind
only negative aspect i can think of is needs more aggressive rear end other then that new Benz cars are insanely good. their interiors are leaps beyond anything BMW Lexus Cadillac comes out with and their interiors are damn good. It is also much much more of a balanced and refined then the last gen c63

Feroxing12 98% of people who buy these cars have never taken them to a track let alone driven them anywhere close to their potential. It’s common knowledge that BMW is better on the track. But for the majority of people it’s gun it when the light turns green, floor it on the highway and maybe have fun going through winding roads. BMW is all around a better track car and has superior cornering but I just love Mercedes AMG.

Sometimes u don't buy a car simply because of its horsepower. The design is important. If MB can put more attention on C63 AMG's design, i'll get it. But now M4 is a better option. Just don't comment.
