- It’s time for a battle that crosses the generations! Mat’s in the Lexus RC F Track Edition, a sports car with a 5.0-litre V8 and 477hp! It’s taking on the BMW M4, with its 3.0-litre, turbo, straight-six engine and 431hp, and the 510hp, 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8-powered Mercedes-AMG C63 S! But that’s not all - we’ve also added in the Germans’ predecessors! There’s the BMW M3 E90, which has 420hp and a 4.0-litre V8, as well as the AMG C63 W205, powered by a 6.2-litre V8 with 457hp! It’s old vs new, so which of these five is your money on?

As a BMW lover it's the only benz I love and somehow wierd that I'm not the only one with this opinion.
It's amazing just how powerful it still is, and that it's able to beat out the newer C 63 S. That 6.2L V8 is just a masterpiece in that car.

I have a naturally aspirated lexus GS 430 v8 with the aftermarket silencer and it sounds much better than the mercedes AMG E 63 S, the turbos spoil the sound a lot, while the old amg are much much better they have a specific sound

That old merc is just a piece of art
Those older V8 engines are some of the best V8s ever created. The aggressive rough sound of the 6.2-L V8 in the older C63 just sounds so good, it's like a freaking muscle car engine, and that 4.0-L V8 in the older E90 M3, we all know sounds amazing with its 8200 RPM redline, making that engine scream loud as heck.
Damn that old C63 sounds amazing. 6.2L’s of V8 in a saloon is just not something you see anymore.

I watched this video a year ago, and just bought a w204 c63 coupe this past week. After getting it home, I sat down and stared at it for half an hour before crying. Truly an epic car, sounds fantastic, its extremely planted and the steering reminds me of the e36 m3 I had in terms of feedback. If you want one of these, go buy one because they won't get any cheaper and are incredible value for the money.

@@Benwycheung I have driven the exact same car. It has launch control , traction control was on and it has an automatic gearbox. Im not saying you can't fuck up the start but believe me when I tell you my sister can do a consistent 1/4 mile time in this car. The person commented this haven't driven a car like this, and also you.
@@BlitzkriegRap traction control must be turned off to get the best launch and time otherwise the computer will reduce the power coming to the tyres to gain traction. so you do need skill to launch a RWD car without it wheelspinning all over the place

the M3 e90 got the same years and the motor is 4 vs 6.2, i already race a c63 with my m3 e92 on a highway little bit faster but only on a highway

Approximately 50 bhp between old and new C63/C63S but a pretty big difference in weight - amazingly the old one with a 6.2 engine weighing in 165 kg less (or 363 LB) no wonder it did so well and SOUNDED EPIC !

W204 last year was 2015 not 2013. Pre facelift 2008-2011 can be found cheap but if they didn't have their headbolt issue fixed that's alot of money still needed to be spent.

Old c63 easily wins the exhaust battle. Also, the 6.2L V8 in it is a detuned version of the SLS supercar, which would explain a lot about the performance

Michael McDonald the M156 in the C63 is actually detuned to 450 HP, in the E63 the M156 had 525HP

And it also shows how lazy mercedes has gotten. Their amg cars in 06 had massage seats, heated and cooled seats, adaptive seats and 12 years later they still don’t offer much more than that

i think they'll downsize the engine and put turbos on it, just like bmw is doing with their cars. European air quality taxes and laws are killing sport cars industry :( .
ApocGuy yeap as far as I know now 63 AMG will have a 2.0L engine. Hope not true😏 in my opinion they should produce again 6.2L in small amount and customers are gonna pay taxes. Gonna be less big engines with taxes but at least they gonna exist

Matt you say it's a RCF Track Edition.
A RCF Track Editio has a carbon fiber bonnet and a large rear spoiler.
Wouldn't have made a massive difference but would have done better.
I mean the 0-60 times are about 0.4 difference between the 2 so I am sure the quarter mile would have been a bit better too.

Well to be honest the alert did say "drive modestly". When your pads are worn out you shouldn't do brake testing, doesn't mean that you wont be able to break in an emergency (unless your pads are completely gone, in which case nothing can help you).

I have a W204, but it's a simple C300. No exhaust note, and with a detuned C50 engine...
Even with just about 250/250 hp/ftlb, it is a lot of fun to throw around. They are pretty reliable and I expensive these days. Plus, that body style is it for me. I highly recommend a W204!

xellossaxon how is it crippled when it has 510 hp and more torque. It’s just crap, 4 litre twin turbo overweight garbage. Here in Australia you can get 2nd hand c63s for 100k( almost half the price,2017 model). The car selling websites are flooded with them cars because they are thirsty on fuel, underperforming and with heaps of issues.

I absolutely love my W204 C63. It is my daily driver and with CarPlay retrofitted it is everything you could want in a car. The engine and the sound is so special it makes £1.70 a litre seem cheap to experience such brilliance.
The W204 C63 was my dream car from the jump... especially the coupe...and even more so the Black Series 😍♥️

The W204 is a beast. Take into consideration that there are version with 510hp which will make it pretty though for the other contestants
I owned the FIRST C63 W204 in the state of FL. Hsd it for three years and regret selling it. It was tuned with Kleeman and just with thst it made 550 HP. It was a monster of a car

TH BULLDOZER I’m here for both. Used to own the old C63 and just bought an M4. Just like I thought, the M4 performed slightly better but the old c63 held it’s own and it’s sound is otherworldly.

2:50 man that 6.2L V8 is a monster 😵😵😵😵 as much as I love the 4.0L V8 from that M3, this old C63 just has such an insane exhaust.
Would love to see a drag race of performance family estates/sport backs on a budget e.g Merc C63 Estate w204, Merc CLS AMG shooting brake, Audi S7 Mark 1, Audi S6 avant 2012 up, VW Golf R 7, BMW 335d touring 2013 on and may as well throw in a kia stinger gts for variety😉

@The Stig's Dutch Cousin hmm...some of the 6.2s do have transmission and overheating issues. That's why I bailed on a 507, when I saw an 8 page service report for a car with 25'000 kilometers on the clock. A crankshaft and transmission replacement was also listed, so they can be quite expensive when you pick up a lemon that is out of warranty.
That's an awful decision. The headbolts alone will total the car along with numerous other ailments. Go for an e55, it's supercharged and can make alot more power cheaper and easier than the 63
Would take the old C63 over any of the other cars in this video.

Owned one, a 2009 C63 with the PP. Skinny 265 rear tires, rubbish gearbox, engine consumes oil as much as gasoline, etc. Nice engine noise and response, but you need it in a better chassis and gearbox (manual!)
r g It’s the cheapest and yet it outperformed some of the newer cars. Sounds the best and it hauls.
