Larry E The E63 S has destroyed the "Kingly" M5, the AMG GT is a real 911 competitor, this C63 will keep the M3 in it's place, and there are loads of things coming.

Great review. Ignore all the people on here who can't really think and appreciate a quality review when they hear one. There's always Top Gear for them (well, unless it's cancelled forever!).
It appears and performs in a too civilised manner! The rustic original c63 had a unique charm to it and when you saw one, you could imagine all the kinds of crazy things people did with it like the innumerable burnouts! I hope time, better exhausts and fearless guys will make this one as crazy!
That first scene of the Merc drifting on track... I'm positive that was lifted from the Chris Harris video of this exact car several weeks ago!

can anyone tell the difference from this AMG c63 from an c300 hybrid with AMG pack? maybe some slightly different bumper air intakes, but other than that not much... I agree it is flamboyant enough but I would like to know clearly that it is not a diesel taxi as c300 hybrid. other than that it is great, I think that the downsizing concept in MB is more my style than the one of bimmers. The v8 can be smaller, turbocharged, and more efficient but it still is a v8. Nicely done.

Why did they replace the godlike 6.2 liter naturally aspirated engine with a shitty 4 liter turbocharged engine? Why, just WHY?
Because of cost and emissions
Because the EU passed a law banning high displacement per cylinder engines e.g the 6.2L V8. The only way to get around the new law is either more cylinders with I.e a 6.2L V12 or reduce the cc per cylinder e.g a 4L V8
DimensiiioN because this makes more power, more torque at lower revs, sounds just as good if not better, is cheaper to run, uses far less fuel, has less emissions and is in every measurable way better.

Too bad the responsiveness of the transmission is still crap. You can tell by looking at his hand when he shifts. It takes about .5 of a second or so until it actually shifts. The one thing that really limits AMG to be a real good sports car.

Modern AMGs aren't nuts anymore. The sound is good, but a bit subdued and pumped up by the exhaust. Probably good choice by MB, cause the execs all bought an M3, but I do miss the old C63 sound and kind of uselessness.

That's not Mercedes fault though. It's more to do with E.U. regulations. There's cars that America couldn't get for regulation reason.
But, people complain about AMG not being nuts anymore. Some of these cars come out the factory way more powerful than any AMG car before them.
So what's the point of adding more madness that will just shred tires. It looks good on track videos, but is pointless in real life driving.
What do people need AMG to do to cars that are 550+ horses already?
MKUltra Rex You may have spotted that I thought it was a good marketing choice made by MB to make the car a better allrounder. The thing is that it used to be special to buy an AMG because there was a certain lunacy attached to those cars and you really got something special. Now AMG is just the top of the line model and there isn't much need to buy it unless you sprint away from all the traffic lights you encounter, because the 'normal' cars are already really quick for performance driving and it says AMG somewhere on pretty much every Merc.
And there is so much luxury 'padding' even in the AMG models that you have to flip through the settings to make it at least a little angry and you have to wait for the 'Black Series S supersport with AMG package and optional sport suspension' to get a true AMG.
MrPanohead that's because they moved AMG in house instead of having them as a separate tuning company.
So it's easier to make AMG models of the cars.
So yes you're right in saying it has become top of the line for them. So you have to look at Brabus as the new AMG.

The thing is when AMG were tuning cars, they were basically taking 200+ to 300+ cars.
There's no way just yet Mercedes-Benz want a car leaving at 550+ being tuned to 650 - 700hp. That's insane for a road car. plus probably kills the life of the car and the warranty.
Were at a point where cars are on the edge of what's possible already. There's not much place to go from there.
MrPanohead The newer AMGs still sound amazing, this new 4l engine is truly great, they handle better than before, but you can still drift like a lunatic, and they're just better all around, they're truly great cars.

I miss the aggressive styling of the previous generation. And that's how I think AMGs should look.
Don't be sad the 6.2 is no longer in production, be happy that in a few years the glorious sounding C63 AMG with that engine and other AMG's will be dirt cheap.
At night, when suffering from insomnia, I simply listen to this review. Works a treat.
This guy is just as good as Sutcliffe in his own way. I really like his reviews, concise, precise, and really good.
The reviewer is actually quite enthusiastic. You will notice once you are in the right mood.
Zzzzzzzzz...I mean honestly, it's a Merc AMG, can we at least get a smile or some sort of emotion? I don't normally speak negatively about these videos because we're getting a free review of a new car, so we should be thankful for that, but come on man, can't you describe a 500 horsepower twin turbo V-8 as a little more than "pleasant"?
Nice review, but honestly, modern suitably sized turbos spool quickly at low revs and are properly gated & valved so respond quickly - so don't act so surprised EVERY TIME when you have oodles of low down torque and the throttle is responsive. - it's time to stop banging on about it - it's not a thing any more, it hasn't been for a decade or so - let it go.

Such a nice looking car, better than all its rivals I think in terms of the looks, interior, sound and perhaps engine. Now the RS 5 might have a better engine, RC F looks like disaster and BMW got all soft with its fake noise and V 6. It is a shame as someone noted that it doesnt have a DCT but that shouldnt matter too much if this gearbox is good but this review did not mention much about the gearbox

And with the biggest of the respects, i've seen Chris Harris review of the Mercedes, and i can assure you that chris, is amazed by the c63. He didn't said that the Mercedes was better becaus he wasn't able yet to test the two at the sime time, but in the future you will see. He´s going to choose the C63. And let's be honest, you think that V8 souns like a diesel? Or you never have driven an diesel or you don't know it sounds like.
Watching this in 2023, now the W206 C63 has only 4 cylinders and sounds crap. The W205 was perfect.

Having seen this car in a showroom i think people aren't aware that the old 6.2 litre was a handful and it was completely bonkers. Yes it sounded loud but this still has the grunt and sounds really good. Its civilised and godzilla like when you want it to be. The other one was just outrageous.
M4 is beating the shit outta that outrageous but heavy c63 coupe ur talking about. Have to wait for the new c63 coupe.
Does anyone know if it will be 4maticAWD for the US? I know that for many, that is all that is available outside of certain countries. The UK was one of the few who maintained RWD but it would be nice to option it as you see fit.
If it is anything like my Mercedes, it will be in the shop more than on the road.. Better buy a spare if you can afford it.
I love this new MB C-Class and especially this AMG C63 S but they definitely need to fix that stupid looking Navigation. It look really cheap, almost like you just put it right there and cannot put it away
South of Portugal Algarve as a background scenario! Beautiful car by the way...I saw then in Conrad hotel in quinta do lago a few weeks ago! Excellent choice as an AMGs headquarters!

What a boring car test of a great Amy car!!! I would be nursing a semi driving that thing and may even need the tissues when Reving it out. Although the engine is a masterpiece, the new car looks boring compared to the old one. And the exhaust note is no match on the previous 6.2 v8

Merc have missed the mark on the styling, I hate the new models, the rear looks weak and the lights poor. The worst ones is that awful cla, it looks like a Barry styled car. Even worse at the back.
