The movie can be smart if John never let T800 catches to him, having a physical contract with a machine that it's main target is to kill you will never play well into a story telling, it's doesn't have emotions like human so there's no backup logic for why it not just snapped John's neck the first time it catched him.
To be fair, the T-800's robo-skull with the glowing red eyes has always been THE iconic image from the Terminator series. There was no way they WEREN'T going to show us that.
They actually filmed an alternate version of this scene where John Connor _immediately_ shoots the T-800's face off before we even see it. This was done in case the filmmakers couldn't get permission to use Arnold Schwarzenegger's likeness.
3:44 Have you ever noticed how BAD does Star falls?? Just look, she dives head on smashing her face against the T-800 skull, and the fact that it's clearly a doll and her arms don't move makes it even more funny, like she dies or goes K.O. lol
I forget that Christian Bale is in every film, sometimes, lol. Edit: I physically hurt someone's brain on accident. As a result, I made sure to add a quotation, so that it won't happen again.
Did he also play the Russian character Chekhov in the reboot Star Trek franchise alongside Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, that Zachary guy (from the Heroes series) as the half-Vulcan science officer Spock and Karl Urban as Bones McCoy (the ship's no-nonsense doctor)?
0:42 This shot fascinates me from a technical perspective. Like, I can tell at a glance it's CGI. But the closer I look, the more I'm impressed by the level of painstaking detail in this shot. So whatever gives it away as being CGI and not a true image is something so fundamental that it's NOTICEABLE but not QUANTIFIABLE.
the only time it looks CGI is when the lighting flickers in the back ground and you pause it when its lit up. but the lighting in the dark on his face is top tier and really sells it
I love how in this scene 3:21, It took 2 grenade shells to blow the skin of the t800 and you can actually see the slab of meat falls, and he's hair is still intacted to the head after the first shell (also the endoskeleton is damaged and more darker after John fired all he's shells) But in terminator gen-anus It took only one grenade shell to blow up t800 clean off, and it's still shiny as hell
I enjoy the 1984 segment of Genesis but have a huge problem with how they present the T-800. In the reality of the original film, that T-800 would’ve killed all of them in a few minutes. I understand Pops was by their side but really they all would’ve been put down
This shows just how much of a badass the T-800 is. Also they should make the terminator like this. We don’t get to see what makes the T-800 the best but this scene dose. It’s the perfect cyborg
It was the first time of my life that I saw the face of an actor recreated in CGI. I was so impressed, and still nowadays I think it looks great for 2009. Of course, it was far from being perfect. It didn't look as real as Arnold Schwarzenegger in flesh. But gosh, it really looked like him. I realized the power of CGI : even after their deaths, actors can be resuscitated by computers for a movie. This is what is happening nowadays, for the Star Wars sequels. For me the time travel thing got old. I kinda wish they went with original plan and did 2 more films with bale then ending the franchise or then going to the really bad ones
Terminators are the scariest things out there. They'll hunt you down in order to throw you to the left, then right then throw you left some more, maybe even forward. They are hardcore
This scene is so cool seeing a C.G.I. image of Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime and youth making the T-800 look like how he looked in the original Terminator back in the 80's.
Pause it during the gunfire lighting up the T800's face at 0:30. How its eyes remain open and focused even as bullets fly towards its upper body is exactly how this thing should be, uncaring if even a round hit it in the skull.
1:59 He takes that resistance uniform and wears it to the final battle. Earlier in the movie he wore the same thing and Kyle said he doesn't deserve it, and he should take it off. Good symbolism and character development.
Yeah but boyfriend wasn't a target and physically engaged Arnie into a wrestling match. Here John is a target and instead killing him quickly and efficiently like for an example he does with his wrong targets, punks he steals clothes from (punches through guy chest) or even attempts to do to Sarah Connor (but fails either due to Kyle intervening or some bystander taking a bullet for Sarah). I guess if movie was realistic John would be dead or at least knocked out by such throwing.
@@fuckweedMegafayce Yeah but guy wasn't a target. In addition I doubt that would be practical to murder the guy as it would put much more heat on him making mission of protection John much more difficult. Special Feature: When the film demands a fight to be drawn out the terminator will automatically go to “plot armor setting” and only throw his target around the room
After Terminator Genysis and Dark Fate, do the people who were shitting on this film still on the same opinion ? Even Arnie said he was happy not to be in Salvation because the movie sucked but how does he fell being in the 4 and 5 which are a disgrace to the film industry and of the name Terminator ?
Arnold knows Genysis and Dark Fate are hot burning garbage. He knows a bad script when he sees one. He just did those movies for the money and the reason he's not in Salvation was because he was governor of California during that time.
@@kopro2428 Genisys was awesome, I love movies where time travel is used as a means to solve problems (as opposed to being used at the beginning of the movie an excuse for the main character to live an adventure). @@dexdixy4913 I get yur headcanon, except this film makes a reference to T-3. at 4:33 it makes a call back to the actual T-3. in the first two films, everyone does EVERYTHING they can (except Arnold) to avoid any kind of contact with a Terminator, especially in the first one, b/c it was very apparent its strength was absolutely irresistible and it would crush you with a simple grab. Here, the Terminator just proceeds to throw John around instead of just punching through his chest. Come on, if you're not going to kill him, just have John desperately avoid it rather than being tossed around and making the Terminator a fucking idiot.
Exactly, the terminators target should ALWAYS remain just out of it's reach, otherwise you end up with a farce like this where it could complete its mission with a single blow, but instead it inexplicably decides to chuck him around for a bit. People are saying throws can kill people, yes they can but the terminators job is to terminate the target, it's going to do something that WILL kill its target, not something that might kill the target after numerous attempts.
Even Terminator Genisys does a better job at one point. Kyle is left to fight the T-800 and is armed with a powerful anti-material rifle that gives him a serious fighting chance. The T-800: - breaks the flooring under Kyle before he can fire - tries to dive onto him and crush him - grabs a piece of rebar and tries to impale him and keep him away from the gun he just dropped - punches a door he just hid behind to launch him into the open Of course Kyle has enough luck and plot armour for the T-800 not to go for the gun itself but it at least tries not to be stupid. The T-3000 on the other hand-
@@gerv55 IMO the best human/terminator interaction is the T-800 bitch slapping Kyle Reese in the original. Of course it knew it could kill him instantly by punching through his chest. But this would be short and not so pleasing for Skynet. This AI is very similar to a psychopath enjoying torturing his foes and victims. That's why T800 throws him like a bag of potatoes, rather than punch the heart out like with dude in T1. You know, Skynet is actually enjoying this, like a living being

The movie can be smart if John never let T800 catches to him, having a physical contract with a machine that it's main target is to kill you will never play well into a story telling, it's doesn't have emotions like human so there's no backup logic for why it not just snapped John's neck the first time it catched him.

@@LtFoodstamp In Reloaded, it's just Hugo Weaving playing all the agents in seperate shots and then all of the shots reunited in the same image. During fights, I'm not sure but I think it's multiple actors / stunt doubles (after Neo talks with the Oracle).

John remembers when the T-850 told him about the fuel cell that he threw out of the car window that eventually blew up into a nuclear explosion and so tells Kyle and the little girl.
in the first two films, everyone does EVERYTHING they can (except Arnold) to avoid any kind of contact with a Terminator, especially in the first one, b/c it was very apparent its strength was absolutely irresistible and it would crush you with a simple grab.
The T-800:
- breaks the flooring under Kyle before he can fire
- tries to dive onto him and crush him
- grabs a piece of rebar and tries to impale him and keep him away from the gun he just dropped
- punches a door he just hid behind to launch him into the open
Of course Kyle has enough luck and plot armour for the T-800 not to go for the gun itself but it at least tries not to be stupid.

@@gerv55 IMO the best human/terminator interaction is the T-800 bitch slapping Kyle Reese in the original.
