01:05 that was very symbolic and very nice from director, to pay tribute to first movie with that steps. John is climbing while followed by T-800, just like his mother and father long time ago, from "same" terminator.
The cinder block chest smash is a T2 callback too.
So is John fumbling with the shotgun (callback to Sarah in T2).
Also the part where the T-800 gets smacked and slowly turns back his head is clearly a callback to the Pescadero rescue scene in T2.

@@ThePhantomPhanto I think that should be Kyle Reese smacking t800
Also when Marcus was hitting it with the metal was a nod to T1 when Kyle was trying to stand his ground to protect Sarah
"Listen, and understand. That terminator is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead." - Kyle Reese (1984)
And that is true in this movie t850 never stopped until decapitated

@@spygo4513 this is the t800 prototype
Amazing line, really hammers home the deadly power of a single cyborg.
Brought a tear to my cheery cheek
I like how Marcus didn't realize that he was a machine until late in the movie. Like, he was able to toss a 200 kg T-800 like it was nothing. Wouldn't he have noticed earlier that he was far stronger than any human?
He was confused before. When he crawls out of that pit in the rain and screams he's like WTF man, I'm supposed to be dead?! I get the feeling he knows something's off just doesn't know what. He also has a chip in his head, maybe it kept him from thinking about it too much.
Eh, he'd never seen or fought a terminator before, probably didn't even realize lol.
He also didnt drink or eat and didnt give a damn to do so.
Also, he was smacked in the head by those thugs in desert when he rescued Blaire, and the scene was so like real terminator that it made me wonder how hard that blow was.
Maybe it was ingrained limiters designed for the infiltration unit, as it was also itself fully aware with a human mind but unaware that it's a machine so it can blend in with the population. He wouldn't believe that he's human if he was inhumanly strong, so perhaps bionic's were limited until he was compromised. That's just my assumption, and it'd be a reasonable assumption to make for a infiltration unit of a extremely powerful AI. They were scared of the T-1000's becoming sentient, that's why you don't see many of them in the franchise.
I really liked Marcus and his character development but I hoped that another movie was set in this period instead of the constant time travel business.
Destroyer 200 if you mean dark fate then don’t watch it
@@ryancamejo5713 nah I mean cancelled trilogy that would have been set in the terminator salvation timeline.
@Go Time Now yeah originally there was going to be about two sequels that was set when the rear was going to be the most important thing.
@Go Time Now sorry autocorrect and yes there was going to be a sequel set in the terminator salvation timeline.
@Go Time Now while yes terminator was the godlike movie in the franchise I would have enjoyed to see something that hasn’t been touched in the terminator series at all, the actual future war
This T-800 looks more real than the one where Kyle was fighting one in Genisys. This blend with motion capture and maybe some practical effects made this scene more believable. 🤷🏻♂️
I agree. This is the last one that Stan Winston worked on I think. In the making of some shots were of a puppet. The T600s were dudes in suits and puppets.
it was all 90% cgi just more expensive and better work
Salvation did use some impressive practical effects. Like the half-terminator from the beginning, the A-10 fighters, the big hole with the radar dishes that blows up- so yeah. Love this movie.
selamat tinggal pagi...
hemm
This is the T-800 of hell itself. This is the Terminator that gave James Cameron nightmares. I remember as a kid watching this film wondering “How the hell can you kill this thing?!”
Machine Gun? Nothing.
Fire? Nothing.
Grenade Launcher? Nothing.
Molten Steel? Slows it down.
Cooling? Slows it down.
It took another Terminator with a steel rod in his neck to finally decapitate it after all that. This truly was THE Terminator.
The Molten Steel was stupid though. That's what killed it in T2 but here it's fine? Wtf did the director even watch T2? But still I love this T-800.
@@Not-Batman splashing it with molten metal is different to willingly sitting in there
implodingbaby
He meant that the t-800 killing himself in t2 by slowly letting himself in it so it didn’t make sense that the molten steel didn’t kill the t-800 here, I’m just thinking that it takes a moment for molten metal to slowly dissolve the t-800’s endoskeleton as you can see it was pretty much injured after that.
@@Not-Batman Wrong the T-800 in T2 was badly damaged and if you look closely it didnt dissolve right away, probably took hours before it completely melted. T-800s are tanks built to withstand alot of punishment. They are the main infantry terminators. Easy to make and hard to destroy.
Have you seen what they went through in the first movie??
Its just as horrifying lol
Salvation is one of those movies that has aged well. The affects still hold up and I would take it any day over dark flop and genisys
Same
The effects are amazing. No retarded looking CGI.
@@lordtark6736 Dark Flop, holy shit that made me laugh.
I refer to it as Woke Fate.
This movie has indeed aged incredibly. Only problem is that they throw each other around too damn much instead of actually fighting.

Ya think? lol
When the T-800 smashes Marcus with the cinder block, it's a callback to T2, when the T-1000 smashes Arnold with the giant piece of steel and 'terminates' him.
When John is limping on the catwalk, fumbling with the shotgun, and shooting the T-800, it's a callback to Sarah doing the same thing to the T-1000 in T2.
Salvation is a great flick.
In the beginning I didn't like Terminator Salvation. But after watching Dark fate, Salvation is now an amazing movie.
@PEPE TRUMP Salvation was original, it was the only film in the future war, man up boy
Star Wars: _Ironic..._
Ironclaw XII i dont think they are true fan of this series, but if it true, they are just a stupid fans
Why?
Because they never understand how timeline works on this series
Even dark fate exists or not, they always think this series should end at Terminator 2
But that just make this series is bullshit
Because if this series ends at terminator 2, so why does Kyle reese should back to the past and have a son with Sarah?
And Who will create time machine if skynet doesn’t exist?
T3 tried to show skynet should be created and salvation tried to show how john connor meets kyle reese
But too bad, these was a good movie
Appreciating something that was originally good after the fact the new movies suck is kinda dumb lol. Salvation had its flaws, but not too big for it be a cgi flop
@Ironclaw XII My thoughs exactly. I loved that movie so much, I was devastated when I saw the other "fans" reaction... and kind of sad with movies like Genysis and Dark Fate...
I feel like this film did a great job on making the t-800 look as terrifying as it is. Even Marcus was having trouble fighting it and he's a machine himself
He was a true cyborg.
If I'm not mistaken, Marcus is a weaker version of the T-800🤔
@@s-fighterclaw6386 he actually has different endoskeleton inside
You'd assume he wasn't as robust cos he was basically a spy borg so skynet wouldn't have built him as per the battle bots. More "heart" metaphor

LOL 😆 I never thought of that!! This is a great comment!
I love how physically imposing the T-800s are in this one compared to the first movie. Unfair comparison of course, given today's CGI, but the 1984 T-800 was built like a pencil while this one is broader in the shoulders than Arnold, himself lol.
I believe this is also an upgraded T850 made with coltan alloy.

I really loved this T-800. This T-800 was actually frightening and hard to kill, unlike the one in Genysis. I applaud Salvation for trying to do something different outside the usual time travel plot, but McG's vision of the Future War (a bright desert Mad Max style wasteland) was too drastically different from Cameron's.
You have to remember that this is a different period in the war. The machines aren't deadly enough to force Humanity underground and only fighting at night. Also, in the movie's defense, most of the war takes place in the desert, while Cameron's vision took place in the ruins of Los Angeles, where most of the death and field of skulls were. Also in the movies defense, it portrays that setting pretty well when Kyle and Marcus first meet in LA. Even if it was during the day, there were still crumbled buildings, and some skulls on the road.
@Sabaman Bob More like the middle of the war. The machines, so I've learned, were pretty easy to combat a few years after judgment day. T-600's and the varieties that ally with it are more of a challenge for the resistance.
You gotta remember that this was meant to be the first movie in a trilogy..it would have probably progressed to being the way James Cameron made it look like..remember that John isnt even the leader of the resistance here..maybe the superior officers would fumble their orders and tactics in the proceeding movies and that would have led to "John bringing humanity back from the brink of extinction" and taking command, just like Kyle Reese explained..they couldnt do all that in one movie
Exactly
Exactly it was badass
The T-800 in this movie looks so badass
1:50 his screams are hilarious 😂😂
The T-800s have always shared one similarity in all the films: they're built like tanks and nothing short of excessive violence or a massive explosion will stop them.
Unpopular opinion: I actually liked Salvation. The ones that came after not so much. But I thought this one was alright. Showing the future war was an interesting concept. In a way, it almost brought the story full circle: Finding Kyle Reese, the fighting the first T-800, John Connor becoming the Resistance Leader he was said to be, all good concepts.
It would have been interesting to see this John Connor send Kyle to the past at the end of a sequel film, effectively ending the story. Showing the future war final days, Skynet's last stand, the last ditch effort to send the original terminator to the past. Everything could have come full circle. Would have been much better than what we got.
I've always liked it 3rd best after the first two terminators. Plus Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors.
I liked Salvation too. It showed us a vision of the Terminator universe we hadn't yet seen. It was only hinted at. It had it's flaws yes, but compared to the garbage that has come out in the time since, it has stood the test of time. It was true to the essence of Terminator. It didn't try to shoehorn in a separate timeline to check off diversity standards and gender-swapping inclusion BS.
Agree it wasn’t perfect but it did feel sufficiently new while also respecting what had come before.
Watching Perseus and Batman fight a terminator is just perfect
Man, Clash of the Titans was so badass.
This movie had a lot of great action scenes. But I wished it was a war movie in the same tone as Blackhawk Down or Saving Privat Ryan.
SAME. Just a gritty war movie no like weird plots just humans with realistic weapons getting in epic firefights with sky net
The future war is what everyone wants. But the people behind it just fucks it up.

1:24 props to one of the few humans who took on the T-800 hand to hand and didn’t get killed.
this shows how strong john connor is. kyler reese wasn't lying when he told sarah he had a lot of strength.
He's the Batman of resistance@@FernandoSousa-rd6gk
He got lucky because all terminators is this movie are programmed to mostly toss john around instead of going for an easy obvious kill despite the fact that he is number 2 on skynets kill list.
Man the T-800 is so menacing. The way it's built, broad shoulders, somewhat tall at 6ft2 and it's glowing red eyes make it terrifying. Imagine this thing stalking you and everything you throw at it and put it through it just continues to overcome every obstacle in it's way. It never stops to rest, sleep or eat and literally never loses focus. You'd have to have a strategic plan to take it out, or you'd have to be ungodly strong like Thor or Superman to wipe it out.
Exactly, just imagine a t-800 waiting for you at home in the dark, it's scary
somewhat tall? I'd say tall by all rights
It will stalk you but never catch you up.
Except that when it does get to you it will just throw you around, again and again
@@sjacrane except it will catch up to you, it can run faster than the finest human athlete.
There’s something satisfying about Marcus just pummeling the T-800 with no finesse or grace.
Also, that transition from Marcus’s flesh getting burned off to just body-slamming the T-800 is just incredible.
2:31 Look how badass this scene is. The sound effects, the takes. Say whatever, i love this movie!
What I really like about this is that this is probably the first time the heroes and the villain are remotely on a level playing field.
T1 Kyle Reese and Sarah vs a T-800 barely defeat it at the cost of Reese's life.
T2 John, Sarah, and a T-850 vs the T-1000 only manage to defeat it due to a convenient vat of molten metal.
T3 The T-850 barely defeats the T-X using what amounts to a mini-nuke.
Terminator Salvation, Marcus is tough enough and strong enough to go toe to toe with a T-800 with only his heart being a vulnerability.
Really wish Marcus would have been in later movies..
1:39 Marcus was lucky to show up at the Nick of time before John Connor's neck was snapped by the T-800.
If this wasn't PG-13 and the terminators where more dangerous, this movie would've been epic!
Xander Guldie
Also would’ve been much shorter ,
Cause you know , Danger doesn’t waist time with plot ?
I disagree, the machines WERE dangerous, the first time actually since T2.
@@gin.590 for the most part yes, but many times they simply suck at terminating. They keep throwing them around. That being said, the terminators in this movie look and sounds the best by far since T2. There's simply no replacing the big bulky T-800's. Those nanotech terminators should never have appeared.
@@xanderguldie They keep "throwing them around" because most of them were prototype versions of the actual final product, I keep seeing this comment under every comment section of the film on YT and it's frustrating because nobody actually figures out why they do it, maybe it's because of lack of effort people have or people want to reserve the right to complain, I don't know.
Even the T-800 here isn't even a T-800, it's a T-RIP, a prototype version of the T-800, prototypes are going to have problems hence their existence to make the polished version better. This was also in the beginning stages of the war, polished versions of the T-800, T-1000 and other models aren't available yet, neither are purple lasers.
@@gin.590 hahaha, what a bullshit people come up with. I'm sorry but your just looking for excuses. They did it on purpose to give the humans a chance and to create suspense. So all of the terminators in this movie where prototypes, including the one in the begining? The T-800 prototype was smart enough to locate Marcus's heart and punch it, but he couldn't figure out how to grab John and squeeze him to death or something!? GTFOH

I'm not crazy about this movie but I've always thought the fight with T800 at the end was really cool.
I remember when watching Terminator Salvation and 1:04-1:07 gave me chills and nostalgia from the climax scene from The Terminator 1984 film. I'm like omg flashbacks from that scene.
I honestly liked this movie it was decent. It's so much better then the 5th and 6th Terminator films.
The first two are masterpieces and of course the only ones that mattered. But honestly 4 was good. I never had a problem with that sequel.

This is the best video format. No black bars, no irremovable logos - no stupid visual obstructions of any kind, no nonsense. I wish your channel would preserve this.
It's too bad we never got a sequel to this movie set in the time leading up to the time traveling. I really liked this movie, and I would have loved to see a sequel set in a time where the T-800s were being mass produced.

Thank you McG for making a decent Terminator movie that’s aged quite well
The only issue I ever had in any movie where there was a clearly stronger enemy is the fact that the enemy always tosses his opponent around like a ragdoll instead of kills them outright. Didn't any of the writers see what the original T-800 did to the street punk (Brian Thompson's character) in the first movie? He punched right THROUGH him. No tossing around; just an instant, efficient death.
I think it's cause this one was brought right off the assembly line and was learning and that's why it learned to stab John
They really need to stop programming "savor the fight" into the termintors. lol
What's the point of killing all humans if you can't enjoy it a little?
Well I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt that the processing in the robots might be new and or updated. It’s like when you put a lot of coding into something new and it’s slow in the start, very smart but slow and needs time to think. I’d say the movie did a good job of not dragging it out to long when the 800 had its hands on the people. It had Connor by the neck for like 3 second before the other guy came in, it was processing what was going on and assessing the best option. Of course you also have to factor in the fact it’s a movie meant for fun.
Something unique about this fight scene, throughout all the movies, the only time we get to see a t-800 being thrown around really is when it’s fully covered in Arnie skin. It’s bizarre to see Marcus shoulder check that t-800 and send it flying and to see it get thrown around. And despite these attacks seeming to do damage, it just stands back up and keeps moving, proving an unspoken point that the t-800 is a force to be reckoned with and always will be
This film was underrated in my book.... great film and great cast.
It was a fantastic original film, the only terminator set in the future war.
The casting and originality is what i like about this movie something Genyshite and Dark Flop didn't have
It would’ve been a bit emotional to see John answer in silent “Your son,” after Kyle asks who he is but he couldn’t tell Kyle who he truly is
I like how Kyle was saying "I'm not gonna leave you" and John says " You didn't....."
Not even Kyle knew who John's father was.

The T800 is just so sexy in this film. I love the part where the skeleton is first revealed and it just looks hellish.
That said, the abundance of T800’s always bothered me. In T1 Kyle says they’re infiltration units, so I thought that meant they were like a specialty Terminator, not the guys on the frontline. In the future scene, they only show large tank Terminators on the battlefield. It made sense because the T800 doesn’t have any built in weapons, it’s just meant to look human and blend in, not be on the frontline. The frontline Terminators have guns built in. But in T2 the T800 is shown to be the main battlefield Terminator as well, which just seems weird to me. In T4, it’s only been around a year since Judgement Day, yet already Skynet is rolling out an army of T800’s. When Kyle talked about them in T1 they sounded like they were relatively new, like they appeared in 2029 a few months before Kyle traveled back in time. But no, they’ve been fighting them for the vast majority of the war.
The Terminators in this clip are labeled wrong but for good reason The terminator John and Marcus are fighting is a T-700 Combat series they are built similar and have the same power source as the T-800 but looked and function differently the Frontline ones you spoke of are the T-600 they were made like a prototype T-800 infiltrator series units but with rubber skin that wasn't really convincing so they were easy to spot but they were heavily armed with a Minigun and A Grenade Launcher mounted under both of their arms or in some cases like a sentry they were given separate weapons like a Assault Rifle but they were also very slow and heavy so they were the grunts but then skynet started making T-700 Terminators like the one here this was there first prototype of human flesh on a terminator what they showed at the beginning of the movie was skynet's plans for the T-800 that was still being worked on and tested with the T-700.the T-700s were stronger more durable as you can see it took a full clip of rifle rounds up close and center mass multiple grenade rounds shotgun slugs which it did nothing but anger the T-700 hits from a hybrid terminator but still overpowered marcus and endured all that a was still going so they were better but just like previous models needed constant orders and directives from Skynet so they were still dependent on the system and their CPUs were also less advanced but were more capable these T-700s were made to make the T-600s obsolete since they were so slow moving and not really useable T-700s would be the main Grunt for the war until 2029 where they made the T-800 Series Infiltrator units that's the terminator that was shown in T1 when the resistance base was attack by a T-800 these were the first real and useable terminator with Grown Living human tissue with all the other stuff bad breath sweat blood better CPU not dependent on skynet that produces its own order besides the pre-assigned directives from skynet faster and stronger the T-800s are still new when kyle goes back in 2029 so this terminator is labeled wrong but its not far off this is the predecessor to the Famous T-800 but if I am wrong then it could be a case of time messes back with those who mess with it like they prevented Sarah and John Connor's death multiple times tried to Destroy skynet and Judgement day from happening so time could have sped up the production of the T-800s but its unlikely
I Love how the T-800 just throws the grenade launcher away when it could simply arm itself with it and blow Connor to tiny meat bits
It was unloaded, Kyle used it a second before.
Visual: HE launcher, 40mm, status: unloaded threat probability 00.00.
or broke the grenade launcher before it throws

This is just a masterpiece in terminator franchise
What makes this movie almost as good as Judgement Day is the use of practical effects, when it's not obviously a guy in a motion capture suit, it's an actual animatronic
@RobbyBoy2000 you're just plain wrong, this is a T800, not a T700.
Still to this day, I can't believe Marcus was the prototype for the T-800. Pretty cool to think how far Skynet came with infiltration units.
What I love about this film is where in others they make it seem like the terminators are about the same weight as a tin can and have the same force of one being lightly tossed at ya, making their tosses or throws over dramatic and seem to have no power behind them at all. But here you can see the absolute force and impact Marcus and the T-800 has when colliding against a wall or their attacks, truly catches just how heavy and powerful they are. Even the scene where Marcus is slashing the T-800, he didn’t just quickly ready another slash but needed a second to prepare himself for a hit strong enough to damage the terminator.
Since this is an older version of T3 John I wonder if inside his head he was like “Hey T800, do you remember me?”
How the hell 300kg terminator can fly like that 0:08 shot with handheld weapon ?? Someone have poor imagination...
ikr
T1, T-2 and Salvation are best of the franchise
I think the terminators didn't try to kill John quickly cause before killing john, skynet wanted to make him afraid of them. Just in case he survives, he doesn't ever think to mess with the machines ever again. Skynet wants to give John and all important people a painful death. When someone would look at their body they be afraid of the terminators too. It's kinda sentimental of skynet but a pretty awesome detail according to me.
I think that's a good point. I mean, if an AI wants to destroy humanity, it can't kill them without demoralizing the person who inspires them to fight back.
I see it as skynet savoring that he finally has John in his grasp and is savoring his kill
Kyle Reese : Who are you?!
John Connor : I’m Batman

Kinda cool having a movie where the T-800 was top of the line in advancement. Before the T-1000 and other more advanced models.
The terminators in this movie keep tossing people around instead of killing them the most efficient way possible (as machines would do) is what broke it for me. Other stuff like the whole future war etc are very well depicted

- Salvation: get its head ripped off by Marcus
- Dark Fate: blown itself up and Rev-9 with Grace's power source
What an underrated movie. I didn’t hold the movie to any regard because Arnold didn’t actually act in it. However, it’s a very crucial piece that takes place during the war. Christian Bale gave it his all. I didn’t care for it when it came out, however it ages decently with time.
The terminators in this film look and sound fantastic, but the way they pointlessly fling their targets around completely deflates the tension of the scene.
Also, the way they fling each other around like rag dolls just looks silly. Check out the fight scenes between the T800 and T1000 in Terminator 2. Every strike and throw feels heavy and realistic.
How can the terminator hit John and not kill him? Makes no sense. You would never see the T-1000 pass up an opportunity to kill John Connor.
I'm kind of against the T-800 being thrown, but I know what machines and hydraulics can do with enough power supply. I also find it somewhat funny that they are trying to shot the T-800 and that didn't work against the T-600/650.
John remembered that the fuel cells are very explosive when ruptured
The bit @1:34 always looks frighteningly real.
Anyone else here trying to forget Dark Fate? Or Genysis? Or Both?
Dark fart? YEAH
Genesys?Nah
@@bigbywolf5197 they kill john Conner in both movies so!
@@jovanlopez5284 And?
I love all the Terminator movies
Except the first one
I didn't watch Dark Fate.
@@bigbywolf5197 The first one is great too, IMAO!
When Kyle asked "Who Are You" i wish the answer were "I'm BATMAN" 🤣🤣🦇
I never understood why people didn't like this movie it was so original or is it because it never featured the iconic T 800 for so long cause its like 5min plus the T600
How would it be if we saw something like this in the DCEU with Cyborg fights against Grid, Kilgore and Gizmo even though he's not gonna get his own movie?
00:56 really? The Terminator had a loaded grenade launcher and instead of, you know, using it to kill it’s main target just decides to throw it and keep tossing John around the place.
Probably wants to assert dominance by menacingly approaching John and using its hands
or the launcher was empty
@@BruhBot-jp8ev It could maybe throw it at his really hard and knock him out.

1:00 I love this scene, that reminds me Kyle try to fight t800
Idc what people say but dam Christian bale plays John conner fucking amazingly
Best terminator series
1:46 when your flatmate walks in on you slapping cheeks
THERES ALWAYS ONE ISNT THERE
The t-800 looks badass and scary here.
Remember when it was hard to kill a Terminator??
Yeah,me too
Bigby Wolf they almost died fighting this one
@@apag764 Agree
More like remember when the Terminator was actually able to kill...
Marcus is a Terminator himself. This comment suits Genisys more tbh with both the original T-800 and the T-1000 being killed off easy.
Yeah, I'd rather believe Marcus (a Terminator as well) being capable of going toe-to-toe with a T-800 and actually winning, being able to kill it after a fight with both being heavily damaged, than the T-800 being 1 shot with little to no effort.
The effects are amazing
The T-800 is what we all want to be in our unconscious, a human being with metal bones, without emotions or feelings, without physical or mental pain; a machine that can do it all without worry. Even Marcus, being a cyborg, was killed by "him".
I love this movie when I was kid. I was excited back then knowing there will be another sequel. But it got cancelled thanks to some 'fans' crapping on this movie.
2:23 - How fights start at the playground.
I just love that shove. It’s funny and effective.
i love how they struggle on one t 800 already.i wish they could see that skynet will replace the t 600 with the t 800 completely in the future war
2:14 Yoda scream
Lol 😆😆😆
2:39 I think that sound effect was in Aliens somewhere
This CGI holds up way better than most of the 2022 marvel movies
Obsessed 😊
I like the other T-800s BUT this one definitely deserves the love, it’s like a tank and it truly shows that, even with it’s infiltration coverings destroyed and no weapons, it will keep going because like Reese said in the original: it absolutely will not stop, EVER, until you are dead
This was the closest they got to properly ending the Terminator series. We saw the origin of the hero, we saw his struggles growing up and this could have been the conclusion of his journey. If only this movie's development wasn't marred by internal politics and drama and self-sabotage, this really would have been a great conclusion; a final war the end Skynet.
as cool as the whole t-800 sequence is in this movie what the hell is up with all the pushing, the t-800 literally has a chance to kill john in like 200 different ways as soon as he gets his hands on him, which happens about a dozen times in the movie yet he always just pushes him, this is a severe case of character plot armor.
