The concept of this film was really cool! Just a real shame the quality was not as good as it could of been! I loved the part where the 2 resistance planes come flying in and take on an HK and the Harvester. But the Harvester clearly shows it can sustain a spare HK for protection and I love that the HK very quickly locks on the two planes to a point where it blows them both out of the sky within mere moments. This scene clearly shows if the humans can get the surprise they can beat the machines but once the machines are in chase there is no chance of winning.
It's interesting how much effort they go through to take the humans alive. Its also cool how the ship waits a bit before immediately vaporizing the truck after there aren't anymore humans inside.
Some people said this movie was bad and was too much like transformers (some psychopaths even say it’s the worst in the franchise, like have they even watched a terminator sequel) I thought it was freaking awesome. It’s the only original sequel that moves forward instead of rebooting itself, it’s great to finally see the future they keep talking about, even though it’s PG13 the grittier and more realistic tone is a nice welcome, while not all the characters are super interesting you do care for them, it’s the only terminator sequel that isn’t just another Terminator 2, the visuals are really cool and realistic and still hold up, and the action scenes and set pieces are great. This might be a super controversial take but ‘Terminator Salvation’ is my second favourite terminator movie behind ‘Terminator 2 Judgment Day’
It’s pretty nice of that robot to not kill any of the main characters, despite having hundreds of opportunities. Just goes to show that the Machines aren’t such bad guys after all!

I know this movie is kind of polarizing, but if nothing else I really liked how they portrayed the war of the machines after Judgement Day. The flashbacks to that time in the previous movies and TV show were some of my favorite parts of the franchise, and I’m honestly surprised it took them this long to make a movie set in that time period. The time traveling aspect of Terminator is kind of tapped dry at this point, but I think another movie set after Judgement Day could actually be pretty good, if for no other reason than fighting big robots is fun to watch.
3:05 so where were all the prisoners when everything blew up?? And why did this thing collect people to be processed later? Did I miss that part? In other movies, they just try to kill all the humans on the spot.

I'm not sure if this is incredibly sloppy work or if the poor crew were in a race against time to get this out by the release date.
2:23 What was the harvester doing for this entire "here's a flare, let me give it to you slowly" part? Shit like that would never happen in a Cameron movie. This is a guy that added detail like having the cop car window be blown out as a dummy GL round was shot through the window in the office window shootout scene in T2. Because that is what made sense. You don't even notice half the details he got right.
the Harvester dropped two moto-terminators and somehow they had 3 chasing them. A third magically shows up for the plot device of slamming into the engine of the hunter killer which in the next scene the hunter killer completely forgets it has a failing engine and turns around to shoot the truck still weighing it down. I love the harvester, it’s a badass design, that looks and sounds cool. I love when it walks out of the flames, like “yeah okay, nice try mfers” 😂
Thanks for the comment, was thinking the same..😁🤣👍👍
CGI now:🤮
CGI then:🤯
Weird isn it. The ones back then look nore real. I saw a scifi movie onCW with top notch CGI, years ago. Looked so real.
Bro flew up and flipoed like he was maverick. 😂there can be only one
I know CGI then makes me want to bust a fat nut.
I never understood why there were so many haters. This and the Sarah Connor Chronicals were some of my favourite additions to the franchise. They need a new TV series to do it justice.
Writing sucked.
Screw the haters; this is one of my favorite Terminator movies for this fun sequence alone. It's got everything.
It's kinda sad that this is the only Terminator movie that entirely takes place in the future after Judgement Day, and probably the only movie that got A-10 gun sound close to what it supposed to sound irl.
Kinda funny how at 3:00 he says "hell yeah!" when they just also killed like 30 people who were stuck in the belly of the harvester
i thought so too at first, but just before the explosion, you can see the terminator ship, with all the people in it, take off in the background
Rip to Anton. Was such a good actor.
0:10 seven eleven is still alive in future
This was probably the best of the new terminator movies .
>we wanted movie from the apocalypse in Terminator universe
>we got it
>we hated it
why are we like this anons ??
Because going by the scene, this is a really lousy movie with nonsensical action scenes that should’ve been written better with the budget and the capacities available to them. That this movie is better than a lot of subsequent movies is just salt in the wound.
@@JoeOvercoat Yup sums it up! Could'nt have put it better, Totally agree. 😎👍
If the other scenes was something more sci-fi, plasma shots everywhere, a bunch of soldiers with high tech equipment, john connor... Now this one is just a normal war between modern machines... not like the last terminator war scenes...
@@JoeOvercoat your existence is a salt in the wound for this francise. Touch Grass
@@Omenyos This movie clearly mentioned the early war era were plasma weapons were strictly reserve to heavy machines, bikes and aircraft. It is a shame Salvation trilogy got quietly canned for garbages.
6:55 the moment he got smashed into the airplane was the moment I knew that he has to be "different"
Terminator salvation and terminator 1 are my favourite terminator movies
Yup and they really do go hand in hand of the parallels they really complete eatch other from beginning to end more so I would say then T2 does
1 The T800 scene trying to grab John’s face just like Sarah at the end of the terminator
2 The T800 walking up the stairs leg shot jast as it was in T1 factory chase
3 The T600 scene while John is crawling just as Sarah was crawling away from the T800
4 Sarah’s picture
5 The gas station of salvation a call back to Terminator 1 gas station
6 Kyle Reese’s learning the shot gun strap as he knows it in T1 delete extra extended scene
7 Johns face to face talk about terminator 1 events to Marcus
8 Kyle there was one men who tought us to fight he turn it around he brought us back the foreshadowing in T4 the terminator camps
9 John now protecting his would be teen father just as he will In The terminator protecting his unborn son
Yeah pretty much this is also why T1 and T4 are my favorite yes there are Direct story plot references to Terminator 2 JD and even T3 especially with the skynet knowing about John’s dad which you can thank Sarah for that in the hospital plus 10 years later Skynet resurrected as the INTERNET 🛜 which People thought was a plot hole 🕳️ and not useing there brains of thinking of the terminator lore up to this point LMFAO 🤣
But yeah you get it T4 was truly a love letter to what preceded it but the biggest lore letter connection was T1 being its sequel-prequel and all
Helldivers 2 about to be ridiculous.
😂 oh my god yes that would be super awesome
Too bad the mechs have poo poo armour.
@Saicofake and ammo goes dry faster than Lake mead.
If the Automatons have these things we're about to be in a whole world of trouble 😱
@@AC-iz7ehcalling it now, they’re gonna have these types in due time.
The bike Terminators were sick Salvation had cooler designs for the machines than any recent film.
The sound design in this fit is incredible
Such an underrated movie. The heart transplant at the end ruined what should have been a masterpiece.
I Just noticed their getaway truck kinda looks like scourge form the newest transformer movie
This movie was the best of the Terminator sequels, after T2, in my humble opinion.
The Harvester is like Soundwave. A terrifying menace that has mini transformers stored inside itself.
I think this is the best movie of Terminator saga after Terminator 2
I loved this film. Bloody good film.
Love that unique Skynet sound❤
Gotta love Mc G.
Dude has an eye & ear for action sequences, sound design, & flair.
Music videos, Charlie’s Angels 1 & 2, The Babysitter, and Terminator: Salvation just to name a few.
Watching the motorcycle take out the FK Carrier port side engine is pure gold, er’ry time.
love the fact that the oil explosion roasted the humans as well!
Just here for the A10 scene
Same here
@@A-Warthog-cc1wm And the keen eye should note - the A-10 is a ground support attack aircraft - being used as an Air interceptor in this - showing how utterly defeated the humans are - that their entire interceptor squadrons are destroyed - and relying on ground attack aircraft to fill the role - hence the HK easily taking them out.
When the war would of started - F-22, F-35s would of been first in, and wiped out, then back ups - F-18, F-15s, F-14, F-16 and so on down the list - loosing all your forces until you have basically A-10s, and bombers left.
Using the A-10s in this scene was A tiny little detail for the keen minded eye, and those with military knowledge to pick up on how destroyed humans forces are.
Also FUCK YEAH the A-10, fucking awesome aircraft - just not for dog fights.
@@rianmacdonald9454 honestly, I think it’s because the A-10 a solid aircraft that doesn’t require many electronics or any that could taken over by skynet, also love it so much
@@rianmacdonald9454 FR
@@rianmacdonald9454 Terminator Dark Fate: fucking antigravity transport with plasma rifles. Even A-10s looks too good for human that have to hide in severages
This part right here was pretty much the only reason to watch this movie. I love everything about this sequence - even the sounds of the machines.
Special effects hold up nicely
Anyone else notice the harvester appears to rely on large, albeit advanced diesel engines for main power. Clever attention to detail from the production designer that tells us the robots are advanced but not quite advanced (at the year it's set) to enable a small fusion fuelcell to run a very large machine.
8:20 They've never been this deep before? THE MACHINE TOWN IS RIGHT THERE!
Also because they were trying to dogfight in fucking a10s
We always forget how much love and effort goes into sound effects for movies like this and Bay Transformers.
the DEEP grumbling sound the robot makes or the terminator models in general just really help how scary it is.
I think that Terminator is the base of ROTB’s Scourge’s design. Worth it!
When I first saw this movie and saw that thing I was like, thank God we did not have to fight that thing in the old movies 😅
I would still say this is the 3rd best terminator movie
I liked Salvation before "liking it became cool".
Why don't people like this movie? It's awesome.
Man, the motorbike calculating it's needed trajectory to evade debris is such a nice detail to remind you of what they're dealing with.
It's interesting how much effort they go through to take the humans alive. Its also cool how the ship waits a bit before immediately vaporizing the truck after there aren't anymore humans inside.
I laughed when he hit the water and bounced & skipped. I did the same thing when I tried water skiing.
This might be a super controversial take but ‘Terminator Salvation’ is my second favourite terminator movie behind ‘Terminator 2 Judgment Day’
Very underrated movie
It’s pretty nice of that robot to not kill any of the main characters, despite having hundreds of opportunities.
Just goes to show that the Machines aren’t such bad guys after all!
Honestly the mechanical robot sounds, no music blaring in the background, a really cool scene that doesn’t feel like some forced big cinematic moment
This is the best action sequence in any Terminator since T2.
I also miss Anton Yelchin. In the end, he was killed by a machine.
I like how the hunter seeker drone did not crashing down because they throw a damn motocycle
Damn, that A10 moving like a Grippen
Praise the ones that fought on Malevelon Creek
You're a survivor?
@@Far-Reez Unfortunately. Was only able to save half a squad mate. Extract was hot. We all ran to the pelican. I was first in with my squad only feet behind me... I sat and turned around and saw the horror... All 3 mutilated on the cargo bay door. Only when a devastator rocket hit, launching B3's torso into the cargo hold did the pilot take off. Holding my friends gurgling torso in my lap, he mustered his last bloody scream "Have a cup of Liber-tea for me..." So as acting Death Captain Prime of the ship Founding Father of Family Values, I choose violence from here and forever more on any evil put fourth in front of myself, my weapons of destruction and my guard dog!!!!
3:48 The stuntmen must have had a lot of experience playing the role of moto-terminators.
5:55 One of the reasons why i would add a way to cut the cable on a tow truck.
I mean, even in reality there where a lot situations where tow trucks where pulled away because the vehicle they where connected to made a sudden/unintended move.
The time traveling aspect of Terminator is kind of tapped dry at this point, but I think another movie set after Judgement Day could actually be pretty good, if for no other reason than fighting big robots is fun to watch.
this movie had book of eli vibes
So that’s why I always thought it reminded me of another movie
cause its brown and has a lot of raggy clothes
I was 9 years old woke up in a hospital after something happened pretty good movie loved it
0:46 We'll know Skynet is coming when gasoline is $1.35 a gallon.
3:05 so where were all the prisoners when everything blew up??
And why did this thing collect people to be processed later? Did I miss that part? In other movies, they just try to kill all the humans on the spot.
Tho now I do remember the first movie talked about processing centers… You’d still think AI machines would have a more efficient system, lol!
at 2:45 you can see the ship with all the prisoners take off, behind the 7/11 sign. And iirc correctly they are collecting humans to process into t-800s or w/e
Best scene in the whole film. Outstanding.
In 2024 this movie still holds up. Might I say better than most current movies. God the 2010s really had a magic I didn't realize till it's gone. Now it's all woke this race that.
0:17 They start flying backwards 10 frames before the explosion even goes off. 2:49 The aerial shot has no giant Terminator in the explosion. 4:23 The overpass and rubble are behind them, then the overpass is above them and the rubble is in front of them and hits the window, then the overpass and rubble are behind them again.
I'm not sure if this is incredibly sloppy work or if the poor crew were in a race against time to get this out by the release date.
This scene is so much better than all Furiossa film.
But that constant turbo flatter from the truck is nice
When you realize that's the same gas station where Sarah Connor got her picture taken.
Super goid take on the film franchise very well done
Love ♥ Thank u 4 Sharing
The bass in the scene is unreal cool
7:26 how Marcus rolled😂
look's like a rag
After all these years, the A-10 is still used 😂
Is it only me or is there a Roblox "oof" sfx on 2:23 time mark, when the bullet lands?
Damn I was only a kid when I first saw this movie lol love it
Unironically one of the scariest sounds ive ever heard in my life, maybe because its something that would never be heard in nature ever, a new threat
the Harvester dropped two moto-terminators and somehow they had 3 chasing them. A third magically shows up for the plot device of slamming into the engine of the hunter killer which in the next scene the hunter killer completely forgets it has a failing engine and turns around to shoot the truck still weighing it down. Gotta love when movies don't give a shit about continuity.
