    Hello, how thick are those bands? Thanks

  • @sharid76
    @sharid76 5 років тому

    I agree with the folks who said the one on the right at the end of the video looks a bit larger.
    BUT - could that have something to do with the size of the prongs (tops)? The head on the tapered ring clearly has much more delicate prong tips than the one on the right, which has the currently popular round ball tips holding the stone. Now, based on that alone, it's somewhat counterintuitive in that you'd think the larger tips would make the stone they are holding look smaller, but in reality, they actually make the stone look a bit larger!🤔

    Hi JannPaul, perhaps it's my warped mind but I thought the Diamond on the right with the uniform width band actually looked bigger! Perhaps it was closer to the camera?
    I can see how easy it would be for a Jeweller to rip people off, who come into a shop to buy a Diamond ring, because I couldn't even see that flaw on the top right hand side of the stone until it was pointed out & the stone was turned around, making the area visible! How does someone find a reputable Jeweller, one they can truly trust? Thank you for your video. 💐

      @sharid76 5 років тому

      You can only go by reputation. If there's an unscrupulous jeweler who is "ripping people off," it will be discovered, usually sooner rather than later. Not everyone is uninformed regarding jewelry characteristics and features, and the informed ones will spot them quicker. And you know what they say about customers - the happy ones will tell two or three friends, while the UNhappy ones will tell TEN! Word gets out on them, and they rarely stay in business for long. Or, if they do, they don't do well, and you can tell that the minute you walk in the door! Look around, pay attention to what's in the store - are there enough employees to give good service? Are they happy? Are they knowledgeable? Do they let you guide yourself to the sale, or do they push and pull you along with a lot of pressure to sell you something you're not sure you want?
      Online jewelers- it's even easier. Just read their ratings or feedback. Compare their prices with "known quantities" - or other jewelers as far as price and selection is concerned. Make sure they have a simple, easy return policy, and that they don't charge you mega-bucks to return or exchange a piece, as in some kind of 35% restocking fee (I have seen this.) Also, that either kind of jeweler will stand behind their work, and offers good warranties on their products. If not, move on! There are plenty of them who do. Ask plenty of questions, and make sure you get good answers!

    i don't get your math at 2.25mins the difference for the diamond on the left is 0.01mm, while for the diamond on the right is 0.02mm. You said the difference is 0.06 to 0.07 difference. How did you come to that number?

    the "table" is it's spread

    • @sharid76
      @sharid76 5 років тому

      The girdle is the spread - as you can have two diamonds of the same carat weight with two different girdle diameters creating two different size "looks." You can also have two different stones, each with the same girdle diameter but different table facet sizes, but that won't make the whole diamond look larger - just because it has a larger table. The spread of a stone is calculated based on its girdle diameter.

    Size 8, size 11, what is 8 and 11? If everything is measured in inches, what part of an inch is it? Or do you measure, looked at the clouds, counted and said - it will be 8. If this is your 8 or 11 is a unit of measurement, then how much will the doorway or shoe size be in your numbers? Measurement is accuracy, but with your measurement, can you calculate the distance to the Moon? I now use a metric measure, and I can count everything with this, but you do not. And how can a person explain what your 8 or 11 is?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
