    I'm sooooo confused, I would have thought the diamond on the right was cut better because you can"t see those dark black arrows noticeably. Why would anyone want to see black lines inside their diamond???

    • @summit505
      @summit505 4 роки тому +28

      The black arrows are coming from the back of the holder (dark). By seeing them it displays good symmetry, cut and dimensions. While you see the dark bits now, when fitted to a ring those darks bits will reflect white light and flares of colours brighter and better then the other ring as shown. As a result it's a better or more ideal cut diamond.

      This is how you know the average person doesn’t know about diamonds. Even tho it all depends on taste, if you’re not well informed your taste might be skewed due to ignorance. If you can see the arrows that means it’s symmetry is already on a good path.

    To say that Diamond B (right) is poor is completely incorrect, If you place a third stone with an actual "poor" cut grade into the mix you will see what that looks like. Don't fall into the trap of comparing minutiae they are both great stones.

      You’re 100% right.
      These people call any diamond they don’t sell "poor " No reputable lab even uses the term "super ideal cut" thats an online vendor gimmick.
      yes the symmetry is excellent. zoomed in close like this you can see the cut quality better but from a normal viewing distance your eyes or stranger’s eyes won’t this notice minimal "light leakage" of the "poor " cut store.
      No one will notice. Who walks around with a Gamex machine to show people the light performance?

    HCA score for A is 1.1 and for B is 5.4. Big difference. Question: why diamond B looks whiter/brighter in the jewelry shop lightning? Because of more black background for diamond A?

    • @JannPaulDiamonds
      @JannPaulDiamonds  7 років тому +9

      Hi Emil,
      Thank you for your comment! You are absoultely correct. Although both diamonds have similar Cut, Carat, Color and Clarity grades, they do have different proportions, which partly explains why they perform so differently.
      However, proportions is not the only factor that can affect a diamond's light performance. For example, in this video, ua-cam.com/video/-tgPS9HL5q4/v-deo.html
      We showed 2 similar diamonds, where both diamonds have similar grades and Diamond B has better proportions but is still have poor light performance.
      At the end of the day, the certificate can only reveal this much information about the light performance of a diamond. The ASET scope will provide a much better analysis on the light performance of a diamond. This gives better consumer protection when purchasing.
      Under jewelry shop lights, diamond B may look brighter/whiter due to its lack of contrast (dark/black arrows). A brilliant diamond requires a good balance in brightness and contrast.
      In direct lighting (eg. sunlight), these contrast areas become fire, which gives a diamong those colorful rainbow flares. This is why, under the gemex lighting, you'll notice that Diamond B does not have those its arrows (contrast) lighting up :)

      Hi Andy, it's difficult to analyze the diamond just got the GIA report alone. You are able to use the HCA tool to analyze its proportions, while you'll need the ASET and Hearts & Arrows scope to anaylze its light performance. If you need any help, feel free to email us at sales@jannpaul.com
      Cheers,

    I noticed when you put the diamonds in the gemex that the arrows on the inside were lighting up more on Diamond A, but the arrows on the outside were lighting up more on Diamond B. Does that mean it's better for the arrows on the inside (under the table) to light up? If so, why? Thank you!

    • @mardouqhouseofe3962
      @mardouqhouseofe3962 Рік тому

      from what i understand you want the inside arrows to show up more with contrast. When no inside arrows it means the center table is darker with no light reflection giving it a ring of death as they call it phenomena.

      Emerald cuts have an entirely different look. I don't think it's fair to compare a round brilliant to an emerald cut for sparkle, since brilliants sparkle, while emerald cuts exhibit big flashes (the "hall of mirrors" effect).

    But remember:
    Diamond is ALWAYS look charming on you, make you look more beautiful, as soon as you have BEAUTIFUL SKIN (doesn't matter black, white or others.), and make sure you have LONG, SLIM FINGERS..... then any diamond rings would make you LOOK awesome.
    Please dont even think about purchase diamond ring IF you have UGLY FINGERS,
    Thin, long fingers would look great at any diamond (even i3, still look like IF, or VVSI)
    I hate to sale diamonds to any ugly customer, doesnt matter how rich they are.
