I have a size 4 ring finger and 3 ct on me looks a LOT bigger than on my sister's size 7 finger. I'd say the stone would have to be at least 1 ct bigger to get the same "proportion."
Great video. For me, I like the 1-1.5 carat range for my ring size (4.75) and my life and work. But, varying sizes are beautiful, and there are so many gorgeous settings to choose from. When I got engaged, there was very little internet research to consider, and I hit the bricks lol! I went to various, reputable diamond exchanges in NJ, NY, Philly, and I learned. Looking back, I did well. 🙂 I chose a colorless diamond, high SI1 clarity, and excellent lxw ratio. I'd still choose a Radiant cut today. That D color, VVS2, 1.5 brilliant round in the tapered cathedral is beautiful, Bonnie!
Carat, Color, and Clarity are all secondary to Cut. The Cut of a diamond is the single most important factor in determining how a diamond will perform and has the most influence over price. Also, there is no such thing as GIA-Certified Diamonds. The Gemological Institute of America only issues Lab Reports, not "certificates". Any broker or jeweler can have any jewel evaluated by GIA.
I love this video! I had to watch it twice because i fell asleep the first time from your soothing voice haha. I would love to see this on a size 7 finger
AH my team and I were just talking about how perfect my voice would be for ASMR content! I'm glad I could help you get much needed rest 🤣❤️ We'll work on getting more content of various sizes soon!
please keep doing this topic on other shape! may i suggest that using hand model with different ring sizes on the same diamond ? since ring size can affect how big the diamonds look
Hi Sydney, We have tons of content on these topics all across our UA-cam and Instagram. Check them out when you can :-) IG - @bybonniejewelry -Team By Bonnie 💎
Hey Bonnie, I’m trying to decide which jeweler to go to for a bigger carat size (thinking between 6-10 carats). It would help to see a video on bigger carat sizes from you. Especially with different shapes (looking to do an oval, round, cushion or pear shape).
Great video😍 I say go the biggest you can afford. I’m speaking from experience. Some sizes may seem big on first impressions and on look big other people’s hands but with wear and admiring your ring you get accustomed to the size over time and perhaps the diamond may even “shrink” a little. Yes “Diamond shrinkage syndrome” Is a real thing! Google it.☺️ I personally started with a .90 carat round now I’m currently wearing a 4.5 carat size which I like but I would easily go a 5 carat now if I could 😊
I have a 1 ct but would love around a 2/2.75. I’ll probably stick with the 1 bc it’s v high quality and yet it’s understated and can be blinged up with a wrap ring
Bigger size needed ! 2.9 carat around! Can I go with IGI certified Diamound!!?? Would it have same quality like GIA certified!? Plz help me understand GIA vs IGI quality ! Thanks
I love this video!! But quick question! Your nails! It’s like the PERFECT bubblegum pink for the Spring and Summer seasons! Can you please let me know which brand and color it is?! And is it gel polish? It’s so, so pretty!!!
You're so sweet! I've been thinking about making more personal content about my nails, fashion and lifestyle stuff but wasn't sure if anyone would be interested. Let me see if I can find out as the salon had it and I just picked!
I'm starting to shop for engagement rings and I think im going to go with Kays Outlet. They have 75% off on $14k 4ct rings. I was going to customize one through Kay but I would only be able to a fford a 1 ct using their builder and what I am looking for.
Hi there! I'd recommend you take a look at our most recent videos to learn a bit more about going the traditional retail jeweler route vs. our process and how they're different. Hopefully, you can get a better idea of what works for you. Okay best of luck with your process :-) -Team By Bonnie 💎
Hi there! Great question. For the two tone style, we only offer platinum prongs and choice of white or rose gold for the band. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!
Hi there I kinda need your opinion I’m confused between buying a 3 or a 5 carat engagement ring ? We live a modest life typical stuff we are retired in our 30s she is thin what do u recommend
Hey, there 💖 Of course, feel free to select your favorite ring at our website, fill out an inquiry and you'll get more details about your specific ring choice bybonniejewelry.com/
What is the average size most people wear? Not average for by Bonnie but just overall average? I want a sparkle but don’t want something so big it seems overly noticeable compared to those around me (I don’t like extra attention). If I’m at work and everyone just wears only a wedding band and I’ve got a giant sparkle I’d feel a bit shy
If you’re in the U.S. 1 carat is the overall average, but the average size is getting larger with every generation. People in their 20s and 30s are having rings around 2 carats. If you’re in Europe, 0.6 carats is really popular
In the UK there is not one nurse that could afford nor justify a 3ct diamond on her finger. If she did have a 3ct diamond ring, no one would believe it was real, they'd think it was a piece of fake crap from Avon.

Even with lab diamonds being as cheap as they are and let you easily get a 2ct.+, it's just the vibe it get from woman that want to go that big. Screams insecure and trashy imho. It's uncomfortable big and get's in the way a lot when doing just ordinairy things.

Princess cut!!!
OVAL!!!!!
I just bought a 2.25 carat D - VVS2 Hearts & Arrows stone after watching this video. She is gonna love it!! 😊😊 Paid a fortune but she deserves it haha
would love to see this on different finger sizes. I imagine a 1ct would look very different on a size 4 (which is my size!) vs a size 9 finger!
That's a great idea! Thank you!
yes! I have a size 7 ring finger and actually ended up exchanging the ring hubby got for a carat size larger to make my fingers look slimmer lol
I have a size 4 ring finger and 3 ct on me looks a LOT bigger than on my sister's size 7 finger. I'd say the stone would have to be at least 1 ct bigger to get the same "proportion."
My finger is 7 and a half 😅
Please do this with radiant down to 1ct too, that is such a pretty size :)
Added Radiant cut Diamonds on our list ;) -B
I love how you explain which is best based on job! Thank you for the education Bonnie 😊
Glad you notice M ;) Your welcome!
this was a super helpful video to have handy as a resource, bonnie! keep it up :) you should def do this for all diamond shapes.
Thank you, so happy you love it. It takes a lot of time to gather every shape and carat but I'll definitely add it to my list!

Many thanks.....all the way from London !
YAY! Glad you liked this 😍
Hi Bonnie! Can you make a video on showing different ring settings for round engagement rings like the prongs, band, and high and low setting?
Also to show the side profile of the setting of a round engagement ring high and low profile

OMG Dana! Can't agree more with "Diamond Shrinkage Syndrome" LOL!!!!! YES. Go 5, or 6ct!!!
@@ByBonnieJewelry yes that’s it☺️💪
This! I feel seen 😂
The way that lab grown diamonds are pushing the market down, I don't know if that is good advice anymore. 😂
I love the round I have a 2ct 6 prong thanks Bonnie for all the info
LOVE this video, it is ssssooo helpful!
YAY! Glad it helps 😄
Would love to see different sizes of the emerald cut!
Wish there were different size hands. Mine is bigger than average and my finger size is 7, so 3ct in me looks like 2ct on everyone else 😅
I have a 1 ct but would love around a 2/2.75. I’ll probably stick with the 1 bc it’s v high quality and yet it’s understated and can be blinged up with a wrap ring
I like around 1 to 2ct. I have size 4 finger.
Please make a video for a heart shape carat comparison! There's hardly any reference videos or pictures.
Bonnie, can you do one size comparison like this but with oval solitaires please! 😊
Kim! Take a look at our Instagram reels page where you can find that oval comparison 😍 IG: @bybonniejewelry
Great video thanks
MiLah ❤ !!!
TY Bonnie.
Just bought my girl a 2 carat vvs2 round in f color... 7 grand
Love these videos! For size 3, what size would be good to be bold and stand out?
Do this with the emerald cut please✨
Added to my list ;)
@@ByBonnieJewelry and the radiant !! Love both emerald and radiant
I have one it’s huge
Absolutely size matters. Buy the biggest and best that you can afford!
Idk, after 2 carats, you should definitely consider how much the diamond sticks out.
pretty stupid!! quality is better then size!
I am a Dimond lover
Bigger size needed !
2.9 carat around!
Can I go with IGI certified Diamound!!??
Would it have same quality like GIA certified!?
Plz help me understand GIA vs IGI quality ! Thanks
I'll make a video about this later ;)Stay tuned.
Hi I am new to your channel , thank you for the information
Welcome! 😍
I didn’t have to give up on anything! I purchased a 3.50 ct round E,VS1, excellent cut for less than $4,000 😮
Synthetic CDV?

Can you choose 18k white gold prongs instead of platinum on a two tone ring? Would that lower the pricing?
Hi there!
Great question. For the two tone style, we only offer platinum prongs and choice of white or rose gold for the band. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!
Thinking about upgrading my ring to natural 3-4.00 ct, 6 prong round …
If you need any assistance, we would be more than happy to help! Our email is contact@bybonniejewelry.com
I love the 2.75 size but it looks soo tall - I don’t know if I could see myself wearing it everyday 😬
Hi there I kinda need your opinion I’m confused between buying a 3 or a 5 carat engagement ring ? We live a modest life typical stuff we are retired in our 30s she is thin what do u recommend
What size carat are you wearing in the intro and outro? 😍
Is a two tone ring as secure as all one tone?
Great question! The answer is yes. Changing metals does not make the ring any less secure. Hope this answers your question. ✨ -Team By Bonnie 💎
With an oval please Bonnie!

How can we make sure that it’s real diamond? And not moisanate
Hi Warinda,
Great question. I would recommend getting the diamond inspected by a trusted jeweler. Hope this helps ✨

❤👍
there would be a big problem you would have to be there to pick out your engagment ring
Could you give ballpark prices on those rings?

The model is a size 5.5
In the UK there is not one nurse that could afford nor justify a 3ct diamond on her finger. If she did have a 3ct diamond ring, no one would believe it was real, they'd think it was a piece of fake crap from Avon.
4ct is the minimum to look good on hand if you go for one single stone ring
they fake
