Taz was awarded the 25th National Hero Dog award by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - Los Angeles
He sure deserved it! What a loyal friend and protector.❤
This always gives me goosebumps. She doesn't give him enough credit! Taz definitely knew what was going on the whole time. He's an extremely intelligent doggo! It gave me chills how Taz left her the water until he knew she no longer needed it. 💕
Don’t worry, the dog has been dead for years

Being fearless does not protect from accidents.
This dog is a hero.
A dog saves his owner.
He knew, that she saved him from the pound. Animals know, kindness.
Taz is the TRUE HERO in this story ! ❤❤❤
Adopt don't shop. Rescued animals from shelters are the best. Given the chance, they will save you back. Taz's a great example of that ❤
I agree 100 %. I have a rescued dog and she is so amazing and faithful.
This is why you ALWAYS TELL family where you are or where you’re going.
Imagine an adult calling your parents every time you leave your house... okay going to the grocery store, going to the park, day after day. This was very routine for her.. but I understand your point.
@@Mandy-nt2cs yah well if your going somewhere remote. What does it hurt to say hey I’m going on a hike. If it’s remote and desolate, better then to be in this situation.
@@Mandy-nt2cs yeah that's very dumb if you KNOW you going somewhere remote tell someone. This ain't like going to the grocery store wtf? Not even comparable.
Let me go explore the Amazon rain Forest solo and not tell someone
Going for a hike in a remote area is quite different from going to the grocery store
@@rachel-nw6mc thank you! Like Wholy shit.
What a resilient, trooper of a woman!! Not many people would have had the willpower to get through those days and nights. Taz was definitely a beacon of hope for her throughout, and clearly her saviour in the end, what a gorgeous boy, but she is a seriously, both mentally and physically, strong person.
I hate when I hear someone say an offhanded remark that dogs and or animals are stupid. They are smarter than I can ever imagine we will ever know. I have heard many accounts of dogs or other animals showing just how intelligent they are. They communicate on a whole different spectrum than we humans understand. They are beautiful creatures and should be cherished. Just look at this video as one of many examples. God bless you and your beautiful dog. Thanks for this heartwarming story I really enjoyed watching it.
The first time I watched this episode it was not long after my old dog Tiger had passed away and I was an absolute mess. Now I am watching it again a year and half later with my new dog Tiger Lily. Tears in my eyes patting my girl. Dogs are so amazing!
Dogs aren’t a replacement for kids! Women were made to have kids not raise dogs !
This episode made me cry. Its just so amazing how her dog saved her life
dogs are smart
Really

Incredible, tears in my eyes, so glad the dog was ok as well and got out alive as I was worried about him. Looked it up and this was happened in 2006 and Taz passed in 2019 😢 least he was 16 and lived a happy and full life
Thank you, now that I know no one eats the dog I can watch. (Always read the comments first if a dog is in it, trust me)
I am watching in 2024. Knowing that Taz is no longer with us, despite his age, has me crying all over again.
Awww Taz. ❤ Truly man's best friend.
Dogs are amazing beings i once had a yorkie and for a couple of years it was just me and her and we went through everything together i cant truly explain it but often times its almost like she was a bit human she was a house dog but for awhile i fell on hard times and had to keep her outside she would run away at night and in the am i would catch her running back down the street home. She was very intelligent she knew when it would rain and all sorts of strange things. R.i.p Princess #SHE WAS ONE HELL OF A DOG I LOVED HER AND SPOILED HER SOMETHING WAS VERY SUPER NATURAL ABOUT HER 😢 SHE WAS MY BEST FRIEND WE LIVED IN THE CAR AT ONE TIME ALSO BUT SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE AND NEVER LEFT ME.
Dogs are so incredible. What a hero! This is one of the best stories I’ve ever heard. Should be a movie
Taz deserves an award a big statue. thanks to all the rescuers for ther help they are angels .
Taz is hero ❤🐕
What a brave dog.
well done Taz....only buy shelter rescue animals...dont encourage breeders..go to shelters and save a dog like taz...my family took in a stray and he was heaven sent meant to be for our family
God is de bron van alle leven en heeft de hoogste eer. Hij onderhoud ons van ogenblik tot ogenblik.
Interesting, she never mentioned turning to God to help her.
@@melindaharrington7588 nee... zo dom is een mens, dat hij nergens Gods hand in ziet. Maar éénmaal zal hij zien, en moeten bekennen, maar te laat, dat hij constant door Gods genade in leven is gehouden.
What an extremely lucky woman. For her life, her toes and her pup.
What a gorgeous dog.
I have a dog and was crying my eyes out holding him he saved my life from utter drug addiction
Hope you and your hero/rescuer pup continue to do well!👍🙏🤗
The more episodes of these I watch, the more they all have commonalities. A person intentionally putting themself in a harsh remote location with no prior thought or planning for worst-case contingencies.
Right?? I'm happy apps like find my friends exist
Wow, what a story. I am so in love with that dog.
Wow! Her willpower is beyond belief!
An example for all! 😊👌😁
If you want to look her up online her name is Danelle Ballengee (52 years old now) and there's tons of articles about her including this.
I love taz he is a hero , what a beautiful dog 🐶
This is so amazing. Chills everywhere in my body after this. Taz the hero
It’s amazing that Taz saved her life , but her will to live and make a full recovery is even more amazing.
Taz is a good dog 🐕 ❤
My God I can't she survived. What a woman with a strong will to survive.
Extemely intense watching. Hope she will not go off like that without telling someone where she s going again. A great outcome 💯 for this very fortunate lady.
Wonderful rescuers and story . Taz is awesome as is the family and Danelle 🇦🇺🦘
Beautiful Taz Beautiful boy Beautiful dog.... He's a good boy ❤
Amazing woman....
Dogs are the best heros ❤
When I was 6 months old parents got a 6 month old part beagle we were best friends for 15 years, dogs :)
Damn thems some young parents
Taz, you are one hella best friend🩵
Man’s best friend! Shout out to taz
Your a good boy taz 😊
You're*
Us as humans don’t give dogs enough credit , they are smarter than people think
What an extraordinary woman. She will never be an actor but that level of toughness is something most people could never achieve. I hugged both my dogs after watching this.
Dogs are far smarter than most people realize. Ancient sage Diogenes realized this and preferred the company of dogs.🙂🙂🙂
Thats mostly because he couldnt give a shit about humans though
I can definitely relate to the newly worn off adrenaline pain when I crashed my motorcycle. I thought the gash on my forehead was the worst part, then while in the hospital 4 hrs later, I literally couldn't move because it felt like someone was squeezing my bones with pliers
I will never understand when people leave home without informing loved ones of where they are going and when they will be back. 😡
Not everyone has a close net family, or family at all. Can you imagine being a grown adult and calling your Mommy every single time you leave your house LOLHey mom I'm going to the grocery store, Hey mom I'm going to the park, Hey mom I'm going to the swimming pool I'll be home at 7 o'clock like you're still a teenager LOLPerhaps she should have let close friends know where she trained Frequently sure, but telling someone where you are every single time you leave your house it's just redundant.
Such an amazing story! It's wild to think that the smallest decisions that we make in every day life can have an impact somewhere down the road. If she doesn't pick Taz out of all those other dogs or if the woman looking at him first takes him before she can then her outcome could've been completely different. I know that it would've more than likely changed her life in a way that she may not have went on a run that day but you know what I mean. Just say if she gets another dog and everything else is the same then it just amazes me to look at how our choices in life no matter how small can have such an impact on us and people around us. I'm so glad this ended well.
I find it so amazing that she was able to do crunches all night and resisted the urge to urinate for days. She is incredibly strong mentally and physically. A true survivor.
This story was so amazing and so incredible but true and I have so much respect for this lady and her beloved dog. It had me crying for the love and compassion between a woman and her companion. Wow it is a very unique story. Thank you to the producers and actors.
I love this woman, she is my new hero. Her and her dog are so precious
Why is she a hero? I'd say the dog is the hero. She's an idiot for going out in the wilderness without anyone knowing where she went and then putting her dog's life in danger as well. Just plain stupid!
Bet you haven't thought about your new hero once in this past month 😂🖕🏽
If you like to look her up online and maybe read more about her then her name is Danelle Ballengee and she's 52 years old now.
Here dog taz is a hero
Tears. I love my dog…
😢 That made tears Puddle up in my eyes
Seems like broken pelvises are a common theme on this show.
I’m 17min in. I love how the commentator and everyone is hyping this woman up:
“Tri-Olympian-Pro Athlete Danelle eyes have fallen out and in true Wonder Woman fashion, she has somehow managed to tape them temporarily to her neck. She randomly found the tape in her mini bag 😂
One of my favorite episodes
Thank you, Jesus, for healing Danelle!
What I’ve realized from all of these survival videos is that every single one of us needs one of those GPS trackers like they find the skiers in the avalanche… We all need some kind of emergency transmission with GPS to the outside world just in case… I’m gonna get me one of those… Even though I don’t take risk like these people do I’m still gonna get one…
These happened years ago this series is old. Most people wear watches with gps now lol
It's called a phone
@@KetsaKunta cell signal can be lost
Wonderful. Thank you. Fantastic.
Not 2 minutes in and the comment's have me tearing up at a heroic doggo. We don't deserve them 🤧by the time she tells Taz to go and he does i can't stop the tears. That's why I've got 4,i wish i could take them all😢 i would go so far as to say, anytime someone is missing and a dog is acting in such a way, especially if they have a dog you need to send at least one person some how along with, dogs know obviously! And what is wrong with Yall doing stuff like this and not telling anyone? Even if I'm just going riding in the mountains i tell someone bc i know my phone won't pick up.. anything could happen.
I feel like in 100% of these situations, people never tell others where they are going or will be or when they will be expected back.
Ive learned from this show to not run in canyons and not travel the sea of Cortez 😂
Or hike in the Amazon!🤯😁
Dogs are *so* much smarter than people give them credit for!!
I'm sure there's a few exceptions to this but my mutt is crazy smart!
I say mutt bc she's a mixed breed from a rescue.
I've been talking to her, like a person, since she was 3 months old.
I've given her commands that we've never trained on and she responds appropriately!
Idk if she'd do what Taz did, as we've never been in that situation, but I'd bet my life, she'd do what needed to be done!
I love her so much! ❤
This woman is the equivalent of the female batman, doing sit-ups with a shattered pelvis . Wow.
Running, really, on uneven terrain with lots of scree? Better places to run.
I love doggies!!!!!❤❤❤😘
Dogs are a gift from God. Amén ❤🐾
Bro theyre man made
If you want to have a technology detox, that's fine. But you can bring your phone with you and have it turned off only to be used in emergencies.
BTW TAZ IS A BOSS
I note that after the incident and realizing she was mortal and could benefit from truly close company she sprouted a wedding band ... and the purpose of marriage ... a beautiful baby. So gad she survived and was given the chance to keep growing.
I have not cried this hard in years!
Go Taz 😇
exellent this kind of documentary it deserves millions views .
it can save lives . people should take more time to hit like button so this kind of videos will be more often be showed . my englis is so bad sorry
Taz = Best Boy
Dogs are Gods gift ,How anyone can not love a dog is beyond me.
Incredible History
Thank God that her companion wasn't Larry from the Kayak episode.
omg 😂
It's crazy what people consider amazing and remarkable. This woman was 100% foolish and yet all these comments act like she was something other than... Most of you would never have done what she did because you have more sense than her. Think about it. Everything in your soul tells you running alone in a canyon is a bad idea.
People do it all the time. However perhaps you shouldn't run beside a sharp drop off.
I could not bare to even do what she’s doing to get herself out of that Canyon. Like? SHE’S BAD ASS! With a shattered pelvis at that? Yeah I couldn’t do that but her being fit helps because she runs all the time with her dog Taz but good for her dog for also knowing what to do to help her get the help that she needed in order to survive and that’s how she’s here to talk about it and she even has a son all 3 of them are miracles that were placed when needed.
It's crazy what people think is bad ass. She was 100% foolish for running in that canyon alone. You couldn't do it because you have more sense than her.
We’re not built immortal and indestructible people for the Grand Canyon alright? We’re not Gods, we’re not Superman!
Poor Danelle Ballengee, the sexy blonde lived such a horrible life, suffered serious injuries, luckily the fall managed to cushion the impact, her hips cushioned it, luckily she never fell on her head, she would end up suffering permanent consequences and was still alive and lasted for days in a boring and lonely eternity. He had such good willpower he cried for help luckily he had his little dog Taz he was able to look for the lifeguards not all breeds are like that in this case he was lucky and the victim of the serious accident is proud if he had had an automatic GPS watch automatically the impact sensor would alert the emergency services when it receives a violent impact it would find it without any delay and it took a long time to locate it today Danelle Ballenge rarely misses her dog Taz died in 2019 and today she is proud to be a angel.
Let me pretend tears never drop frm my eyes.
❤Of course Taz knew she was injured! I'm surprized with as much time as she had spent with him that she didn't realize how smart he was.😥🐾😥
Taz the wonder dog
Most daring life 😢😢😢.....
Gooooo boyyyyy
i'm glad that the dog help her out but DAMN IT , i wish people would stop taking their dogs to a place that might get them in trouble !!!
if it wasn't for the dog, she would have probably not made it out alive.
the dog is the main hero.
This show should be called "I have no common sense, why am I alive"???
Why don't the Government of this country hasn't got watchers with medical help in this area? And why at least the Government of the land/country don't place worrying sites lines, if the land is dangerous to run or walk on to? 😮 O.M. G. the lady was extremely lucky with that dog 😮! Unbelievable 😢... Hopefully both are doing well ❤ There is a God❤
Wauw ❤
more risk of cooking than freezing in 20 degree weather
I'm super surprised that she didn't have supplies with her and that she didn't tell anybody where she was going. I did endurance biking and lots of hiking in my life and those are just huge no-nos man
good boy Taz good boy he deserves more than a treat he deserves a dog park named after him, a search and rescue program for dogs in his name and much more
When she came running at the end ❤❤❤❤😢. Her angels said not today death. Not to m.f day❤❤
That's a Good Dog 🐕
God
Good boy ❤
Why people are so stupid and also put their pets into danger?
He turned off the atv to pinpoint the location of the call for help.
I thought the actor looked familiar, she’s also done a few What would you do? scenarios.
What a stupid thing to do. Go running in the middle of nowhere in unsafe conditions without telling anyone where to find you. Extra stupid when you almost go flying and go on anyway.
If I fell and was stuck I’m pretty sure my cats would just eat me.
With a broken hipp ore/and pelvis you CANNOT walk at all.........
