The single shot that killed the bear was the first step to Bram's survival. The chances of killing a Grizzly with one shot are slim and a wounded bear would have undoubtedly finished the job.

@@1PlainOne I’d imagine he was, his femoral artery was exposed, he should never have walked to the carcass that the bear and her cub were near, this mom was actually trying to protect her cub, if a grizzly is charging at you and her cub is close by, play dead, she just thinks your a threat and if you minimize that threat, she will leave, bram just pissed her off more. I have a hard time feeling sorry for him because he literally asked for it and I hate people who kill animals without legitimate, moral reason.

Wow this was an emotional one for sure. So many strangers that helped this kid stay alive. The first Angel was Bruce and his son. Had Bruce never found him and carried him all that way Dr. Wolf would of never known. Bruce you’re a hero for all you did for a stranger! Dr. Wolf too for the things you did to care for him when you didn’t have much. I have no doubt them antibiotics and you and Bruce and his son talking to him all night absolutely kept him alive throughout the night without a doubt. Those guys are all angels. His poor dad too having to suffer that whole night and the next day not knowing where his son was. Little did he know his son was actually in great hands at the time. I’m amazed by how well everyone saved this guys life in a tent out in the cold in a rain storm. You guys are all angels❤️

Shhhhh pay no attention to that,,,and they are going in bear country without having all safety issues addressed hmmm and carrying darn muskets etc.. You do not go into bear country without knowing everything there is to know in case you bump into a charging bear.
You can not think and react fast enough off the top of your head with a bear coming at full charge. Some of these types do not even know how to activate bear spray if they have it or even have the bear spray or a powerful enough gun in hands reach for such a situation. Bears aint something to gamble with.
It is just like people that head out into the ocean in boats with no safety gear or training worthy of something that can easily be life or death. Do not gamble with your life with nature.

Maybe to their own kind, but they are speciesist human beings, majority hunters would never dream of killing a dog or an even a horse for sport or for food. No I don’t care if they eat the meat, if they aren’t going to die it’s cruel. I understand invasive species but F&W keep populations high so hunting can continue and don’t reintroduce predators because it interferes with hunting.

@@Synysta_Aka_Syn They have not even gone over it in their mind..what if I run into a charging bear. Often they do not know how to activate bear spray or they do not even have the spray in hands reach etc. They will carry totally underpowered guns that are sure to just piss the bear off more.
Folks, your life is on the line so be prepared and think of what new tech like locators etc you can carry for the worst case situation and know how to use it and test it if possible...and I do not mean when the bear is licking your face. You need to be proactive for your safety because you sure as heck can not wing it. spur of the moment, with big claws and teeth sinking into you.
I bet this kid is older and a lot wiser now and a lot more prepared. He will more than likely never punch a bear in the nose. That bear went Mike Tyson on him after that. Glad he survived and has a tale to tell.

Many people on boats, planes, hiking, mountain climbing etc would be rescued a lot faster and save themselves a near death or even deadly experience if thy took your advice. We have technology now that is affordable so buy a bunch of it, know how to use it beforehand and test safety products when possible. Do not buy bear spray, for example, and not know how to activate until a bear is running up to chomp on your face. AN ounce of prevention...
Also carry bear spray and guns that are within hands reach! Do not use single shot muskets ...
